I guess people's frustration comes from feeling that, with the time it took to tell us 2947649371 times how to properly report those bots, they could have just shut them down. Each time a thread about botting is locked, another dedicated botter could have been banned.
So I think that is why players resent the pushback.
My suggestion to NCsoft - if you are concerned about losing subscription revenue from perma-bans, a very simple and fun solution is just have your GM's go around and kill the bots. Why not? Slap em with a nasty xp penalty (like a level's worth).
They don't even want 2 talk about it on Forums. Alyra don't even deal with the bots. So why have a whole thread for it?

You mean subforum on your second phrase. A thread already exists.
I am not talking about reporting them, I am talking about discussing the topic and let NC know what we think about that, even transmit them our ideas. That huge thread does not help at all. It's not a readable thing.

You think? I'm guessing only, but I think the majority (in terms of number of characters) that are being botted are to level up. Then there are surely some bots that are for farming adena like you say. Killing them helps too, tho. It cuts into their production rate by a lot.
Again Alyra don't even deal with the bots. So how is it

I'll speak just for myself. It's not about Alyra, who is probably an awesome person, and has always been courteous and helpful. It is about the management at NCsoft and how they prioritize. To set a policy to be tough on players who complain about botting, rather than to be tough on botting. That is my point.

People are expressing valid views and NC soft should be listening.
And Buying Adena is not the real problem, you are wrong about that -poor game design is the root cause. Sure several years ago when L2 came out it was the best of the best, but the truth is certain elements have become a factor and the game should be amended to accout for it - and yes I do have answers about that but I am a professional IT person and I am working on ratifying some of those solutions and then getting a copy right. The asnwers are simple though and neither banning or "stopping adena buyers" will fix it
If people are smart enough to figure out how not to waste there entire freakin life trying to get xp then all the power to them. I think ncsoft is the developer of 3 party programs to benefit the ones that value there lives.
We use one bot thread because it makes our lives just a little bit easier. It provides posters with a single place to view others thoughts and ideas. And it centralizes the reports that come in that we must forward on.
