We all know that Gracia is in the works... and the various changes has been posted a nubmer of times in this forum and in many others... so I have few questions...
Why is that information being shared so far in advance? I don't forsee the Gracia PTS comming any time soon, and God only knows how long it will be before it goes live.
I can imagine that most of the information is true (accounting for errors in translation) and that we can count on being given reliable info from our oversees soruces, but why now?
Knowing that low-end B Grade weapons and armors and possibly jewels can be purchased from NPC shops alters the economy now, long before the update. Why would I buy Zubei or Avadon (leather/heavy/robe) now, knowing that it will likely be a cheaper purchase in the future... for that matter... Keshenberk*Keshenkerk would be a poor puchase atm as well...
I guess what I am saying is... be careful what you read... knowing these things has made it impossible for me to buy anything. It's dangerous information; I retired my main some time ago in favor of making some new, young toons and getting a fresh perspective in the game... and just as I feel the urge to play my main again and re-equip him, I find out that in the hopefully-not-to-distant future re-equiping him will be much much more affordable.
considering gracia is still 4-5 months away as far as NA is concerned most people would outgrow zubei or avadon in that space of time.
Besides, the information isnt passed on by ncsoft, it;s passed on by korean fans on their own fan pages, then NA people that can understand the language read it and repost it. It's not like ncsoft can switch the internet off so you dont loose money on your avadon set :p
lol, obviously they can't do that... and I wouldn't expect them to... nor am I blaming them.
Nothing can be done about it either becouse we do not know what the prices will be on these items once the update is live. If we knew that (for instance) Zubei robes could be bought from the NPCs for 10m adena, than why would I buy that same set from a player now for 20m or more?
Likewise, why would some one buy that set from me were the roles reversed? It makes it difficult to buy and difficult to sell B-Stuffs
Becouse we don't know what the prices will be, I can't justify spending any amount of money on B-Items... its driving me mad :confused: :mad: :confused: :eek:
the prices are pretty much known ... avadon or zubei robe set for eg is 291 B crystals and 870 C crystals.
And keep in mind B crystals will be cheaper cause you can buy B weps to crystalize and c crystals will be cheaper cause they are dropping the npc prices for c weapons (c cryst will cost around 2.2k and b crystals around 8.8k)
So simple math a low b grade robe set will cost you less than 4.5m come gracia
Anyways, point is you dont buy something for its future value, you buy it for its current value to you. When A grade started floating around an A set would cost around 400m, helmets alone went for 200m ... 6 months down the road prices were half that and nowadays you can get A sets for like 60m on most servers .. doesnt mean that the people that had A sets back then made a bad decision
They didn't make a poor decision, but on the other hand, they had no assurance that the value of their equipment would hit such a steep decrease.
Its safe to assume that over time all things loose value... (with a few exceptions). So I am not speaking from the point of investing or making money.
I suppose that I am just currious as to why people are not altering current prices, based on what we know is to come in Gracia. For instance, my SE just reached lvl 61 and I will buy her Majestic Robes to replace her current Avadon Robes. I would nromally just sell the Avadon Robes for what I paid for them (roughly 22m) which was the going rate at the time on Teon. But now that Gracia is due out, it is unlikely that they will sell. For the same reason that I would not buy them for that price I cannot expect anyone else to do so...
I mean, I could play the odds I guess, and put them up for their current value of like 26m and hope some chump doesn't know any better, but its a long shot... there are already 4 or 5 people trying to sell the same set, and they have been logged in for months...literally months, trying to sell them... they are not selling becouse people know they are now worth only their crystal value (actually sinse the price of crystals will drop).
Just knowing that the change in price is on the way has altered the economy... B-grade items are not being bought... take a look around Giran on Teon... the people that are trying to sell the B Weapons and Armors have been trying to sell them for days / weeks becouse they simply aren;t worth it to buy now...
You'll be able to sell that set easily for 22 mil currently.
At least on Franz you would be able to.
Only when we will be closing in on Ct2 will it be really hard to sell normal B grade stuff (non-oed) as people will know they have only very little to wait to get their B grade much much cheaper.
I like the fact that stuff will be much easier to procure, no matter how hard it was these past years to gain the same thing.
I agree also that its nice to see that it will become extreamly easier for new comers to aquire their equipment and at a very nice price, so now new players can expect to make it to A grade without loosing sleep on how they can get their hands on sooo much adena.
Im happy for them, and i will also take avantage of this for any subs ive got or new toons i try out.

keep in mind teon is a mature server where b grade isnt very much in demand anyways ... most players are well past b grade nowadays.
Anyways what i d do is setup a shop bulk selling the set for a couple of mill under market and maybe you ll get lucky, but definitelly B grade demand isnt 100% tied to the gracia changes. Like I said before, gracia is still 4-5months away and very few people would abandon their toon for 4-5months cause they will get b items cheap then

However lot of people on my server didn't know about C grade in shops and Spellbooks in store from last update.
Spellbooks were not in the PTS notes, nor on the fan sites - we all only found out about it on the day of release - and yes a lot of people were ****** about it.
I'd call it Useful Information. Considering the way L2 is and the countless hours of grinding and selling/buying, it's far from dangerous to know what to expect and what not.
I don't like "secrets" that screw my game anyway. I prefer planning ahead.

Simple answer to play the game and have equipment you need now. And it never a "poor purchase" to buy anything you think your character needs or you want. Well, no more than "purchasing" anything ever is, if you really wanted to play smart you would craft all your own stuff.
So simple advice, buy, craft or whatever, the stuff you want and play the game and stop worrying about it

Hmmm... And did the fact that they put Plated Leather Boots in the NPC shop come as a surprise? It sure did to me... I spent tons of money buying the boot linings to craft my one humble pair. They must have cost me 10 million adena, and then *Poof* "Special on boots at Armor Shop. Plated Leather for 167k! Those of you who just crafted some have to use the "Chump" entrance tho! Have a nice day!"

Getting the boot linings wasn't easy, but you got good exp hunting for them and the total cost for crafting them was around 25k (25.000) adena.
Nope, I knew that was there too, from the same translation. You should venture there. You'll find out all sorts of stuff :)
For instance, in the next update, do you know that dances/songs will have their own buff bar? This will allow SEs to do some healing and not disrupt the set up, as well as allow other things to be cast as well. And even then, if you have a buff you don't want, you will be able to right-click on it and remove it!! Pretty nice, huh.

Korea already having their PTS? We get info that filters down. This is one of the things I hate about having things step down instead of everything being upgraded at once. The mystery is gone. On the other hand it gives some of us time to dump our goods for crazy prices.
by my current information,
korean pts differs from na pts. their pts is quite normal server, but some services (all paid services for example) are unavailable. their pts never knows wipe. their pts also has increased xp/sp rate... we cannot have such pts here. just imagine, if you one have 85/80, will you level another one as a volunteer? i think, you will not. pts is true pvp/pk server or, if they force us to test, we ignore/quit it.
