I am thinking of rolling a dagger since I heard dagger get nice boost in CT2. I enjoy pve more so I tend to love hearing and seeing crit when i'm fighting mob. I heard that PW get many crit boost and crit the most our of all the dagger class even if they don't crit as hard. which I don't mind just as long as they can crit in 1-3 hit 90% of the time i'm happy.
let talk about lvl 40+ with focus dagger and +5dex dye self buff how much crit rate will PW have? add focus lvl 3 from a se, would I have near 300+ crit rate? I know if u stack more crit buff you can get near 500 crit rate but I don't have access to sws/queen buff or any lvl 76+ buff..
last question same gear/same se buff all 3 class dagger each hit same mob, who will kill the mob faster? who uses the least amount of shot? pw/aw/th?
I subbed PW for the same reasons you discribe. 40-52 was extremely fast in Alligator Island, and for B grade I was cutting open unicorns, satyrs and treants in enchanted valley.
I went for -3 con -2 str and +5 dex, probably with the right buffs you'd be better of nerfing con -4 and go +4 str/dex. I also got very lucky with my SA on my +10 kris focus and got an extra +17.6 critical. I forgot excactly how much critical attack I had, but I made it to A grade really really quickly with a ton of crits :)
u can add +4 dex but it only adds a small amount to your crt rate lets say ruffly its +10.
Your passive crt chance buff adds a whole hell alot more. the difference between crt chance 3, and crt chance 4 is about 33 points.
Weapons adds a bit more. They very, but lets use B/A as examples. A Kris will add 71 to crt rate, while a naga storm adds 67, and a bloody orchid adds 68. Don't forget the base crt rate on daggers is higher then all other weapons.
The sws buff adds 123 crt rate (static).
now add that all up.
at lvl 60 with a kris I can nearly max my crt rate.
At 61 I ended up with 467. At the time that I had that rate, I was using +3 naga storm (w/ +7.8 crt boost aug), hunter, focus 3, and DC set. when we added a cat buff it maxed out.
But now u can get crt chance from your level 70 passives. Which as I read is equal to level 1 crt chance passive (+30).
So from what I can see a PW with crt chance boost from sub X2 will max at crt rate with out needing focus SA, cat buff; by just using hunter, crt augment, focus buff, and passives.
PW 64 + bloody orchid +4 str -4 con +majestic light-> 264-291
AW 64 + bloody orchid +1dex -1 con +majestic light-> 313-346
The symbols are for the sake of equalizing stats.
So about a 16% increase in crit damage no? With no buffs or self buffs or augments.
The DPS difference fully buffed (with maximized crit rate on both) is about 6% in favor of the AW.
Crit dmg difference fully buffed goes to about 7% increase for the AW.
Since dagger mastery chance however we should factor in spamming blows in PVE... but I have no way of calculating these easy, so I'll just skip <_<.
calc it suchly: assuming 50% Dagger success rate, calc the DPS as if success rate was 100%, then calc out for the SAME skill over all dagger classes and x .5
PW 64 + bloody orchid +4 str -4 con +majestic light-> 264-291
AW 64 + bloody orchid +1dex -1 con +majestic light-> 313-346

im talking about endgame situations. of course it matters more if u r 61 with b-grade gear and no buffs.
[Buffs = 78 PP] + VS
76 AW no tattoo, AS +3 Haste, Maj set ~> Crit dmg = 1017-1124
76 PW +4str-4con, +1str-1dex, AS +3 Haste, Maj set ~> Crit dmg = 954-1054
This is the difference in simple hits and its not big imo (63-70 per 1k dmg). As u add more buffs the difference gets even less significant.
Basically its a free lvl 10 Vicious Stance to those who have it.
Now i believe it should matter more in dagger stabs with simple buffs, but if u involve boss jewels and endgame buffs then it shouldnt be that big either.
My PW is 58 with doom light armour and +4 -4 on str and dex
When fighting mobs that are white to me my dagger passive actives all the time and I lethal so much due to my dex which means i can pretty much spam the skills i have.
Although if you want dmg out put as your main source and want to play dagger choose AW end game fully buffed you can rock some serious dmg with a crit on backstab
