Name Change Question

General Discussion Started Last reply 67 posts
I have a question regarding the server mergers and name changes

Say two people share a name and just for the point Person A wins the name and Person B loses it

But in game Person B contacts Person A and works something out to get the name

Would it be possible for Person A to delete, rename their character so Person B could get their old, original name back?

Or in otherwords does a name always remain unusable once it has ever been used, or do names become freed up if a player deletes/renames a character holding the name?

Would it be possible for Person A to delete, rename their character so Person B could get their old, original name back?

Yes. even now, try making a lvl 1 toon, name it something, then delete it. in 7 days make another toon of the same name. is completely possible.
If a player takes a name and decides later to change or delete that toon, that name will be available again. However...

If the person only wants to change their name, not delete the toon it is no longer free. The pop-up box available for changing one's name if there is a conflict will only pop up the first time you log in that character. After that he/she will have to pay money to change.

If you log in your toon with the conflicting name you can not play it until you assign it a name, so you would have to leave it alone until the name is free or pay money for a name change yourself as well.
Ok, thats cool guys. I thought that was correct but was not sure

I can see situations where people may be willing to give up a name for the right reasons later and I just wanted to be sure it was possible
You have to pay money for the name change - BUT - the name never becomes available again. I think it would have to be something handled on a case by case basis by NC - Which I think Alyra will come out and give us a big, fat "no" on.
i think if that toon is leveled and equipped toon, its owned is highly against of deleting it.

Now that is exactly opposite of what the others are saying and not what I understood to be correct. Are you certain the name is gone for good even if its not in use anywhere?

i think if that toon is leveled and equipped toon, its owned is highly against of deleting it.

There are people in that situation right now, who are willing - I am one of them
Why don't they just let whoever had the name first keep it?

Meaning, the character that was created first. Or is that how it will work? Just curious, I'm on Bartz so doesn't really affect me...yet.
That is not how it will work and I for one do not feel that is the way it should work

Too many characters not still in use holding names
I can see why they didn't go with the "oldest character" option, because there might be a level 40 toon created in OB that has the same name as a hero created in C2 on the other server. On the other hand, if they did it by "highest level", we'd have all the lower levels on the server crying that it wasn't fair. And to an extent, I agree that someone created in OB (IF they are actually played often) should be able to keep it. Also, the lower level characters would be upset about botted toons (as if botted toons actually pick decent names...)

Anyway, either option would suck for somebody.

Personally, however, I think what they are doing is even worse than picking one of the above options. Now it's just down to who logs in the fastest. What about people who are on vacation? Or work? They loose their name on their level 78 toon created in OB because somebody who doesn't work was able to log in right after servers go back up and choose that name for their alt dorf? Really, it's not at all fair.

IMO, what they should have done is come up with some sort of formula using both age of the character and level of the character. So that way, a hero toon created in C2 would win out over a lvl 40 created in OB, but a 64 toon created in OB would win out over a 76 created in C5.

One big question I have is this: If there are two characters named Bob, and two characters named Shirley, and the two characters named Bob don't log in for a while so the name stays in conflict, can one of the Shirley's choose to take the name Bob, so that when either Bob logs in they both have to choose a new name? That would be my main issue with the whole thing, if someone who's not currently in the running for a specific name can choose that name for themselves so that both of the original owners have to choose a different names. That would be really wrong. Hopefully NCsoft doesn't allow that.
Agreeing twice in a week--I don't know what's happening to me lately.

It would seem that NCSoft would be able to pull data on name conflict toons to show a) oldest (first made date), b) highest level, AND c) frequency of log in over the past 6 months.

Weight each and have a numerical value applied and highest number 'wins'.....

Idk, I'm trying not to think of what will happen if I lose the name of my main. I'm hoping at this point that doesn't happen.

On a larger scale, I think I understand the overriding message of this merger to be (from NCSoft)....your (or anyone else's) name loss isn't really that important to us.
If it ticks you off that's tough.

Maybe there is something in all this I'm missing but it's at least the impression I have at this point.

One big question I have is this: If there are two characters named Bob, and two characters named Shirley, and the two characters named Bob don't log in for a while so the name stays in conflict, can one of the Shirley's choose to take the name Bob, so that when either Bob logs in they both have to choose a new name? imo that will be excactly the way they implemented it
you chose what ever name you want, even one of a different conflict

What you describe above is making available to everyone any name falling into "name conflict" category, instead of limited it between the related accounts.

I don't want even to *think* this possibility!

i think if that toon is leveled and equipped toon, its owned is highly against of deleting it.

There are people in that situation right now, who are willing - I am one of them

as for me, you won't get my name even if the name holder is mere 2 lvl trader that i used once and never again...
why for should someone delete the beloved toon for free?
you can hope if that guy deletes his toon.
but hope is a silly feeling. :)

Why don't they just let whoever had the name first keep it?

is it fair? that guy didn't know if someone else in different server entered same name a year before. if you are dinosaurs of L2, this doesn't make sense. that guy may be in game from c4, c5 etc, and he has same rights as you. he started in same conditions as you. he couldn't know if a year after his name will conflict with some dude from a server that he viewed in servers list only.

the most fair politics is to place all conflicting name into black list of name that cannot be entered anymore. and this if fair because everyone is in equal position. you no longer need to fast log in and confirm your very very "epic" name. i can't get why NC doesn't use this simple method. :p
Umm..I dunno, maybe because some of us that have a two year old toon that has never been rerolled might want to keep the name it has?

Kind of silly of us I guess.......according to you anyways.
Silly? I don't think so. I view my characters' name as a kind of posthumous fame. Once upon a time there was xxxxx -- from birth to the last of his/her L2 days. Full stop.
pfff..not names make humans, but humans make names. get another name and make it for yourself? you play l2, don't run from another real shake.
Fantasy worlds are both fantasy and worlds. As long as you are in there you "live" in them, this is part of video games' charm and attraction, whether you play online or offline single-person campaigns. The name of your character affects you in certain ways, be it your intention or not, as real names in real life affect many aspects of it. While it's true surnames to carry all the burden of a family's history rather than the first name, this burden is transferred to a character's name in fantasy worlds.

This is a game, you say? Yes, it is. Only that the irony for you lies on the fact the game is called "Lineage" where names play an important role.
possessionne those who have been reading your posts for awhile know you don't care about reputation and the like which is your right as everyone is entitled to an opinion, equally so for those that disagree with your point of view

I for myself like it that there might be people on Bartz or Seig that may remember me from the OB days as I've been using the same name since closed beta and got 2 dvd's worth of screens shot of L2 history to look back at with fond memories but that's just the way I am ;)

in short to all his own ^^

pfff..not names make humans, but humans make names. get another name and make it for yourself? you play l2, don't run from another real shake.

You know Possessione, you make it sound SO easy. Except this particular toon is one of the few semi-active A grade Bishops in Hinde. Not everyone who calls to me for healing is in my friends list.

So what would you suggest I do? Make a macro to spam Giran with my name change?

Also, the lower level characters would be upset about botted toons (as if botted toons actually pick decent names...)

Almost all Hero's have botted at some point. The ones who have not are rare and even most of them have benefited from a clan that has used botting to help them along the way.

I know many hero's and all of them have botted or benefited from botting in some way.

I get the impression you are thinking of the adena sellers but the majority of them are just using item duplication again. It is definitely a matter of using the duplication and the account getting banned shortly after but lets face it, they are use time cards and making the money right back anyway so it works for them.

i think if that toon is leveled and equipped toon, its owned is highly against of deleting it.

Did I say anything about free?

And I am the one who will be deleting not the one asking. You will find there are many community conscience people on the servers who are willing to do it. But yes of course most people would ask something in return

No you just ignored his point is you might BOTH have a character from the time you started playing and you BOTH might not want to lose your name - in fact the will be case often.

Age, Hero Status, EXP lvl, Hours played = none of that should matter because everyone pays money to play.

NC has done this the best way assuming the names are protected to the two users
Imo they should make it automatically add a couple letters in the end.
Bob A from Gustin -> BobGu
Bob B from Hinde -> BobHi
Would be funny really .
Wont work with my name since it's allready 16 chars long

Actually that was my thought if things come to dead-end and I'd have to change my names.
Perhaps it's funny, but it would spare --us and them-- lot of frustration, anger and disappointment.

Rohir, it's about time you shortened your name. lol

So wait, neither of us should be upset then??? BTW, do you have a character that is in issue? Because most of the folks going "oh gee oh well deal with it" are ones that don't have this problem.

Yes, everyone pays money to play, but some have paid in a HELL of a lot more and it's just good business practice to protect your loyal customers.

Joe Schmoe sells rugs. He has one very special rug for sale. Two customers want it. He has one that buys from him every single solitary month for four years. The other has either bought from him intermittantly or has only been purchasing from him for 6 months or a year. Who the hell do you think Joe is gonna sell the rug too? If he has any brains at all anyways. It's called customer loyalty.

OTOH, Joe could just say "hey both of you come here. I'm gonna throw this rug in the middle of this warehouse and the person who runs FASTEST gets it.......3.....2.....1.....GO!"

Regardless of who gets it, both customers are now going to be quite leary of Joe and his business practices......

This is a game, you say? Yes, it is. Only that the irony for you lies on the fact the game is called "Lineage" where names play an important role.

pfff... lineage and so? it could be a "some random name", not lineage, but with same content... name is empty letters, it's nothing without the person. the person makes one's name, not name makes its person. criminals will remain criminals even after name change. good people will remain good. i can't understand your massive panic. yes, you was creating your name's reputation for long time. but that guy also has a reputation. why do you decline his right to keep his reputation which he made in maybe harder business? this looks pretty hypocritical.
And if he is a griefer???

possessionne those who have been reading your posts for awhile know you don't care about reputation and the like which is your right as everyone is entitled to an opinion, equally so for those that disagree with your point of view

if you mission is not to propagate your ideas to minds, why did you make your posts? just to keep servers and connections loaded? :p i think, it is just a waste of time if you don't even support your ideas. just mere silly bla-bla-bla that you better make on msn or something else... if you so afraid of discussion or someone has other opinion, what are you doing on forums? :)

And if he is a griefer???

it IS still his reputation...
and it's better for you to change your name if you don't want interference and misunderstanding from community of that server...

Apparently you have NO idea what you are talking about; or, maybe, everything is just an "amazing play of English words" to you which you hardly understand. Do you understand what lineage means and how it is connected to names and history of clans?

Good point, possessionne. So. What are you doing on these forums? Just making enough fuss to annoy people?

Hopeless indeed.

That was a bloody hilarious post! Thanks for the morning laugh, Verita. It made my day! :D

Cheers
Heh, it was kind of fun typing it too.... and you're welcome. :)

Wow, you're really being stubborn about this. Doesn't matter if *I* change my name, it's still *my* non griefing name he's using and it could still quite simply affect my rep until I get the word out there that it's NOT ME.
Someone on Gustin has my name. :(

I'm so used to having this name on every single game I've played that it's gonna feel weird on my main. Someone go and break DragonSlayerX's computer on Gustin so he can't log on after the merger. :D

Ok ok I kid kid.
I think I have seen this name on Gustin. Not recently though. Perhaps there is still hope?

Best of luck with the Name Race!
Im going to lose my name and i dont really mind im viewing it as a good chance to reinvent myself. And Ncsoft doesnt care about makeing this fair or easier for anyone there more concerned that there game is DEAD.
id say its a good way of getting a free name change =P So what if u get bad rep in the mean time?? eventually word WILL get out that u are u and they are them so quit ur crying... big babies *hands out big foam thumbs to suck on*

i know meaning of word "lineage". but i can't find anything that connects it to any part of the game content.

Do you understand how it is connected to names and history of clans? a random "amazing play of English words" that koreans taken from a dictionary without any thoughts about what drama it can make for real english native speakers like you... did you even thought about it?

let's look from other side.
why can't it be his name, that you misappropriate.

let's look from other side.
why can't it be his name, that you misappropriate.

yes you are right it could very well be anyones name, and the only valid solution i see here is to append server name (actually server number) to the conflicting names

for example if conflicting name is Dragon
then after server merge we gon have Dragon3 and Dragon4
with the server numbers at the end be in different color or surrounded by characters which are not allowed for use in name creation (eg. Dragon'3' and Dragon'4')

if your name is already using up max allowed chars then there would need to be a change done by nc to reprogram it somehow to extend max chars. maybe allow conflict names to use 2 name variables concatinated into 1, so everyone will only see 1 name although 2 variables used.

w/e it is NC should not simply burn your hard earned reputation.
Kogan,
Dragon3, Dragon4 and so on is not an option really for the simplest reason players are already using this system to indentify themselves to other players when they create alts for certain purposes, i.e. scavengers, crafters, manor toons, etc.

i know that, thats why if you read one line below, i said to use Dragon'3' and Dragon'4'
to use characters which are not allowed during normal character/name creation.

I am NOT a griefer nor a PVP'er. That's a non issue.
Oh I see. Didn't notice that. Apologies, Sir!

So wait, neither of us should be upset then??? BTW, do you have a character that is in issue? Because most of the folks going "oh gee oh well deal with it" are ones that don't have this problem.

How can you get through life thinking like this? Read what people post. I did not say anything about anyone getting upset or not. What I said is BOTH people have equal rights to the name because they BOTH pay the same fee. And as for your question yes in fact I do have 3 characters with names in question. I am trying out other games right now...

Yes, everyone pays money to play, but some have paid in a HELL of a lot more and it's just good business practice to protect your loyal customers.

BOTH customers are loyal if they pay. And IF you actually read my post, one person could have played for say 3 years and the other 3.1 years - hardly a difference but by your suggestion the second loses their name - ******ed plain and simple

If you want to quit then do it, I'm not fond of what NC have done either and I am trying out other games to see which one I will go too. I tried WoW tonight and its graphics are lame plus its controls are lame. I will probably settle on Warhammer Online (as will most L2 customers) but it does not come out until Sept+
Actually what a lot of games have done is make it so that someones name is unusable by anyone regardless of whether their on a different server or not. This would have been better because in such cases if a merge were to happen, the conflicting names situation would have never arrived in the first place.

I would love to keep my name because I've had it since first day of Prelude. You've sort of gotten used to the char being called that and seeing someone else run around with the name of your main does seem a bit odd. Suddenly someone shouts your name and you reply back but then you realize oh wait thats not me anymore.

What I find difficult is if you change your name completely and so does everyone other person. How the hell are you supposed to find them? I can already see everyone shouting in Giran the first day about who they were originally and from which server. It's going to give you headaches staring at chat and can easily lead to scamming. I can already see this doing more harm then good for some of us who might be a bit too trusting.

Just my 2 cents so don't chew my head off. :D

QFT
Paragraph #1: That would had been an excellent idea if only NCSoft had thought it beforehand.

Paragraph #2: THIS is my worst nightmare, so to speak. I can't imagine someone passing by bearing my main's (or even my Dwarf's) name. It would seem kinda schizophrenic, like a syndrome of multiple personalities who, somehow, found their way ...out! Creepy.

Paragraph #3: Yes, scamming is possible at all -- and some will probably try it.

Since there has been so much talk and debate about the names I wonder how they solved the issue in Korea? Someone mentioned they had had servers merge there too. Do we know what solution they came up with for duplicate names?

And you totally ignored my little story, which is exactly what NC is doing here. It's ridiculous, even you must admit so. I am at work during the day.....the odds of me getting my name before an off-for-the-summer-college-student are slim to none really.

Yes everyone pays the same monthly price, but some of these folks have been loyal unfailing customers for YEARS and quite frankly, that should have been taken into consideration. It's just easier for them to do it this way. Chaos is a prime example of this. Did you read his post? Same name since the beginning? And now he is in danger of losing it? Because you know, he pays the same monthly fee? It's just wrong... and really, everyone knows it.

Quitting? Eh, we've looked at other games. The graphics blow....we'll deal UNTIL we find something we like better.

Exactly like this. We are reusing their procedure now.

And you totally ignored my little story, which is exactly what NC is doing here. It's ridiculous, even you must admit so.

I did not quote your story because it does not apply at all. Its a completely different thing, in principal and point, but yes of course I say what NC is doing sucks. I did acknowledge your story however by saying if you want to quit you should do so. In your story you said you would never use the seller again - well if you believe this is the same situation then that logcially should be your answer here as well. But, I would like to say this, if you do leave I hope you join the same game somewhere else as me - reason being is you are the kind gamer I have great respect for - I would be in a party/clan/guild/whatever with you anyday.

So yeah no arguement there on NC - what I don't agree with is the suggested fixes. NC have done just about the best they can with the name collisions assuming the merger was necessary - but that is the problem - the merger was 100% not necessary.

I am at work during the day.....the odds of me getting my name before an off-for-the-summer-college-student are slim to none really.

Yeah try living in Europe, being a work and having 3 characters with name problems including your main. Hence the reason I am checking out other games...

Yes everyone pays the same monthly price, but some of these folks have been loyal unfailing customers for YEARS and quite frankly, that should have been taken into consideration.

Why? Is the other person now a second rate customer? What you are talking about is bad customer service and unfair to the other person. And like I said what if one person started L2 on Day 1 and the other who has the same name began on Day 2 on the other server. Both 4ish years and one just automatically loses? Sorry that does not float but the truth is if it was someone from Day 1 and someone from Yesterday they both have the exact same right. One will just feel the loss more

It's just easier for them to do it this way.

That is most definitely not a true statement. The script overhead for working that one small detail out would be huge in terms of resources and server downtime

Chaos is a prime example of this. Did you read his post? Same name since the beginning? And now he is in danger of losing it? Because you know, he pays the same monthly fee? It's just wrong... and really, everyone knows it.

I read it. Him being in danger of losing his name is wrong. The duplicate name situation is not why its wrong though, that part is being handled somewhat correctly.

What NC got wrong is the merger period - it is the root problem and the one that must be considered.

As any good Dr will tell you - always treat the problem not the symptoms.

Quitting? Eh, we've looked at other games. The graphics blow....we'll deal UNTIL we find something we like better.

The artwork is just as good in Guild Wars and the graphics engine is actually better. I however find it to be the most boring MMO type game ever made. Maybe GW3 will be better

Warhammer Online looks awesome, and the artwork/graphics are not bad - I predict Warhammer Online will end Lineage II and only because of NC Softs lack of customer service and resistance to spend part of their income to change the dynamics of the game to keep up with changes in the industry. It amazes me why people wonder why WoW does so well despites its cartoon/joke "artwork". It is because they listen to their users and respond accordingly. I find this to be true of almost all the US MMO's vs the Korean/Japanese MMO's

I mean, Hell NC have not only not abolished/replaced the useless Karma System, they have made it worse buy giving a Get Out of Jail free Card NPC. Nor have they updated the quest to make them meaningful, created servers targeting PvE only (like every other major game), monitored player activity and did something about scamming/cheating, corrected the game architecture to make Botting less meaningful, corrected the Crystal system so Crystals could be bought or crafted somewhere directly, change the game so PvP had some meaning, I could go on for a very long time I assure you
*gasp*
Thanks, Krissa!

If you also know what was Koreans' reactions, I'd be interesting to hear it.

Korean Game culture is completely different but even they were ****** off. Not sure how many left though - thing is Lineage II is still very strong their and NC soft treat their Korean Customers much better, they advertise there and all sorts. The problem simply would not be the same but in the end it was done this exact same way and they were ****** off also
Actually, in my opinion, if someone on Gustin has my name and has played 2 years of Lineage II while I have played for 4 years consecutively, I should receive some sort of seniority over that player. Regardless of the individual paying the same exactly monthly amount, one has donated more time and a lot more money to the company. That is also why many games have veteran rewards for those such players who have been a loyal customer. Verita's story does apply here because its the same situation.

I mean why shouldn't veteran players have senoirity over newer players? I mean if the role was reversed I'm sure they would be thinking the same exact thing.

Actually, in my opinion, if someone on Gustin has my name and has played 2 years of Lineage II while I have played for 4 years consecutively, I should receive some sort of seniority over that player.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but unfornutately for you NC seem to agree with me on this one. Probably the only thing ever.

Actually it is not the same thing. Because in that situation one person ends up with nothing which is not the case here. Also, in that situation the Shop only has one pair of pants where here there is an entire dictionary+ of choices and all some has to do it pick one

It WOULD be the same situation if the shop owner said "here is the pants, first one to get them gets these pants, and the loser gets a different pair".

In that situation very few people would stop shopping there, they would just decided to buy the other pair or not and think to themselves what an odd thing to do.

Why? Because you are all customers just the same, contributing the exact same amount of money each money and contributiting the exact same to the community

The question is not a case of why shouldn't they - it is why should they? You give a rational, logical and non-emotional business reason why.

Both people would be upset either way, so saying the older person will be upset is not logical.

Both stand to lose a name and an identity so saying history, ect is not logical.

The only thing you can say is "paid more in" which quite frankly is a poor reason because it does nothing for predicting future income, and its not even really that relevant.

What I believe NC should have done was announced the definite merge about 6 months in advance and had some sort of Name Dispute Arbitration setup, where possibly these things could have been worked out in many cases ahead of time.

But that would cost money so there is no way that would have happened - make no mistake about it, this is an ill thoughtout attempt to make more money and nothing else. It will come back to bite them in the a$£ and all these people saying stop whinning will be left without a game and thinking, if only we would have resisted more or moved back then...
Although you have a point about veteran players, to which I *partly* agree, Awyan's point is also valid: you treat newer players as a "second rate" citizens, which is not democratic.

What they should *had* done is what you suggested with your previous post: whatever server you are on, duplicated names are not allowed. I wonder why they didn't think of it before. Game industry should know better.

What they should have done is dumped the whole server merger idea as a means of increasing revenue - problem solved

Like I said treat the problem not the symptoms - and its worth nothing they have a 80+ page thread of customers expressing their negative feelings on the matter - and they COULD still stop the merger.

Anyone want to bet on them stopping it? Didn't think so and why? Its obvious - they don't care and that is a problem
I won't bet. I know people who quit L2 already. Recently.
Sadly so do I

My definite count is around 20 now and I know lots of people are seriously thinking about it considering it, me and my wife inlcuded
Ok folks, it's NOT treating a second incoming players as second rate customers, but looking at it from a "senority" point of view (thanks for that word, Chaos, it's exactly what I meant). Senority in the real world DOES mean something. As it should here. It should not be a race to see who gets the name first. They are the most loyal customers at this point. And the ones that L2 is in serious danger of losing....

Senority and "grandfathering" is a way of showing loyalty to those who have shown loyalty to you. Senority at work....the first hired in employee gets the pick of good vacation time or the new office. Grandfathering folks in when the rules change negatively. They all reward longevity. Should be the same here.....

Of course we can argue this point until we are blue in the face, I won't change your mind, you won't change mine. I just really and truly think that they went about this ALL wrong. I also agree with the point that server merges were not needed and I was vocally against them. And in the end, I lost that and possibly a two year old name. Chaos could lose a four year old name, another friend a four year old name also. Quite simply put, this was poor poor customer service.

And when I said it was easier for NCSoft, I meant the race to the name. Just making the software say "oh a conflict, erase and throw up a pop up box" rather than going through accounts, looking at conflicts, etc.

And in my story, Awyan, I said "rugs" not "pants" though pants would've been better. :) I also said that the customers would question the owners business practices. I never said they would quit using the owner. Hey the next time, the other dude might run faster? Right? ;)

I have looked at all the games you mentioned. Warhammer doesn't look too bad. PM me if you decide to play........

I will be on HindGustin....you can find me there...come join us...it's a good server to be on.
Hello :P

I rode this thread and the "nearly 90 pages" thread about merge :o. But couldn't find any OFFICIAL answer to the following points:

I quote from NoldorMight:

Logically, it's impossible to have a name confict created over your *own* toons' names for the simplest reason if there are on the same account and the "name holders" are all lvl 1 they will automatically deleted upon servers merging -- provided all your available 7 slots are occupied. This means when you go to log into your main toons, with the higher XP that is, there will be only them: highest XP characters.

Since you are the "mad scientist" here ( ), please tell me why I am wrong.

This is true under this little tiny condition: that the deletion of the characters is prior to the name conflict process. I guess it is, but can you just confirm, please Alyra?
I know that many people will say "the answer is in your quote". But no: what, if, in the process of the merge, the "duplication" took into account the names of the chars it will delete, and therefore cause a name conflict even if they were deleted?

If the official answer was given I'm sorry for flooding. and please specify me where :P

also I'd like to take back that hypothesis from Listof

Quote:

One big question I have is this: If there are two characters named Bob, and two characters named Shirley, and the two characters named Bob don't log in for a while so the name stays in conflict, can one of the Shirley's choose to take the name Bob, so that when either Bob logs in they both have to choose a new name? That would be my main issue with the whole thing, if someone who's not currently in the running for a specific name can choose that name for themselves so that both of the original owners have to choose a different names. That would be really wrong. Hopefully NCsoft doesn't allow that.

imo that will be excactly the way they implemented it
you chose what ever name you want, even one of a different conflict

So, are the names "in conflict" in between 2 players blocked for the other players? or are they considered free for everyone (that would be a mistake), Alyra?

Waiting for your Official reply,
Thanks in Advance. :)
One week after the last post... And 2 days before the merge, and prolly monday when you come back from week-end maybe we can get an answer? :p

No! wait!!! Why would we have one? We have no more time to delete chars, so: it's "Surprise, Surpise" we'll get an answer when we'll log on 8th or 9th!!! Youhou!!!
Weirdly I'm pretty sure everythings will go fine. ;)

I know that posting on a sunday is not a smart moove, but that's the only day I can watch forum and take the time to read Dramas (and mainly skip them).
Surprised your questions were left unanswered, you even highlighted your questions. :) Its a huge change imo and alot of things are going to leave some players disgruntled. Leaving questions like these unanswered or not clear won't help those feelings one bit especially if players assume one thing, only to find out something else when the merged servers go live.
Hehe :) well let's take it positively.

They are doing hardwork in order to do the best regarding all the "fears" of everyone, and have no time to answer. :p

Merge may not be what everyone expected. Let's wait and see, maybe it will be a good surpise.
*think positive, think positive, think positive*
