Edit: perhaps this post belongs to some other section?

Interesting read.

I was already familiar with Mammon as the representation of material wealth and greed (how appropriate that the Seal of Avarice unlocks the merchant of Mammon...still trying to figure out how the Seal of Gnosis - Greek for "knowledge" - fits the blacksmith, though).
A lot of other stuff in that wiki, however, I'd never heard about.

Always cool to see how real-world lore makes it into some of these games.
Thank you for linking that. I love when game developers put some thought into their nomenclature. :)

"Knowledge" makes sense to me, for the Blacksmith, by the way. He has the knowledge to forge rare and exotic weapons. Since the weapon often becomes a metaphor for the warrior, forging one's weapon can be a metaphor for forging one's self - ie, enlightenment.

Just my take. :)

Nice way of looking at it, there are always angles of looking at anything.
Also, the Gnosis part may be linked to the Orator of Revelations and Preacher of Doom NPCs (the annyoing floaty things in towns), that supposedly spread knowledge of what is to come (AKA, spamm the general chat with the same phrases over and over again).
