Is this real Korean lore or is it as Alyra once stated that if we dident get any lore she would write it her self?
And I also like that we finally got some lore :D
Very nice to hear. btw do you have someone in Korea translating it to English or someone in your office in America doing it? Just curios
It's a process that takes a few steps. Someone here translates, then we as a team polish the grammar, we send it back for a last check and approval, and voila, you have the finished product. :)

Alot of work for a translation ;)
Well will be glad to see the missing lore for CT1 and the remaining for CT2, well heading in to the game, you should do the same :p
After the stranged one winged creatures arrived, the warlord Lionna and the Glad? Kain fused together from tampering with kamael technology. Now Aria was born as a She-Man.
Hey Alyra, it's obvious from "Kamael" ("Passionate Angels") and "Kamaloka" ("World of Passion/Uncontrolledness/Chaos") that they have someone over there who knows Sanskrit. Is it an indologist or a lapsed monk/nun?
Not at all from what I can tell. NCsoft has their own lore for this game, but they have done their homework and choose references or even nomenclature carefully. I can't think of anything particularly Korean about any of it. But perhaps others can give examples.
i think, NCsoft has same myth and legends for L2 worldwide. in Korea, maybe, european epic myth stylized stories (based on myth of ancient greece primarily and on the Bible partially) looks very fresh and impressing. but in europe it looks like mockery on world's history...
The creation myth is based on the South Korean flag. The Original Globe is the Taiji in the middle, although in reality the dark/blue principle is female and the light/red principle is male. (Was it political correctness that made Gran Kain male?)
The children of Gran Kain and Einhasad are the four Trigrams around the Taiji: Paagrio is the three full lines (all male), Eva is the three interrupted lines (all female, with Shilen being the dark side of Eva), Maphr is the two interrupted plus one full line (predominatly female) and Sayha is the two full plus one interrupted line (predominantly male).
The Koreans stole that from the Chinese, probably already during the Three Kingdoms (37BC-668AD, Koguryo, Paekche, Silla)
If I remember correctly, all the methods used to dream up the L2 lore was discussed in an interview with the dev teams... I am not sure wheich one, but it can be found on the main site with enough digging... I will try and find it.
BUt they said that the game lore was based on more than one existing set of myths... so its not based on any one in peticular.
though language does seem to be a factor. Hey everyone has a preference right?
Actually the creation myth from L2 lore resembles the creation myths from many parts of the world, and not just Korea. Creation myths in most ancient cultures are very similar (different gods, different places, different heroes, but same overall storyline). First, there was chaos. Then something happened, and poof, there was light. And darkness took a male form, and light took a female form (or the other way around). And they had kids. And their kids ruled the elements. And one of them was bad, and caused a war. And somewhere, somehow, humans were created. Ta-dah. Myth of creation 101. (Had Mythic Thought classes in college, every other ancient culture follows along these lines).
The involvement of Eva and Shilen in the Lore translation explains why, in the Gracia Korean preview video that floated on the interweb a while ago, the first part had the Elf symbol, and the last part had the Dark Elf symbol.

(And, God, I love that song!)

Is this your own reading? Or did they say this during some interview?
The Taiji and the trigrams (male/female) are from the Yi Jing/Book of Changes, a Daoist classic, where you have the same standard story (see Ysang's post above): Wuji (chaos) turns to Taiji (male/female) turns to Trigrams (kids/elements).
The connection with the L2 lore is my own reading. It's sort of obvious when you look at the South Korean flag. If NCsoft would be an airline, you could call it a "flag carrier" :)
They also never said in an interview that Elmore is The North and Triol their nuclear programme. But that's quite obvious too.
At this point I would like to draw everyone's attention to the fact that unlike with Tolkien's east-west conflict, Elmore is not intrinsically evil. It's just the nobility/cadres who worship Triol.
