I lvled camael till 26 and pretty disappointed, reading all forums about their lack of survivability and dmg.
now Im, thinking about plate wearer, i really like DA or pally, basically i want plate human that can do damage, that would be ideal imo.
problem ive heard is hard lvling for both copared to dmg dealers and need of a good team, which i dont have.
Is SK or WL any better?
hard for me to decide because I get completely opposite advices from people in game.
(some said to stay away from tankers, some said arbalester was very good pvper some said very bad pvper due to stunn and low hp...sigh)
please advise,
thanks

I would have to agree, glad is a survivor (heavy armor and its masteries) and damage dealer (high dmg duals) in one.
In pvp later on you'll have to rely ntirely on your ranged skills and when close up to a char reap them apart with TSS and DSS (triple and double sonic slashes)...
PVE might prove not that "fun" as you can't really spam skills, at least not when in multiple hp mobs areas with no herb drops.
In herb areas you'll be able to spam skills quite alot, depending on your luck with good MP herbs, or any mp herbs at all :p.
This from the human race at least.
You can have a look at Destroyer from the Orcs too, but his ravaging skills really require him to stay at <30% hp in order to effectively wreak havoc on any mob. (isn't it impossible now to have 30% hp in pvp and not die in 2 seconds?)
Unfortunately you'll have to be very high up to get duelist spirit lvl 2 and your highest levels of ranged skills (close up skills, TSS and DSS too).
Ideally you'll have to be at least 78 to have Sonic Rage, the ultimate Glad skill too...
There are some good Glad threads around this part of the forum, have a look around, or maybe someone can point them out to you.
But this shouldn't really come to you as a surprise since L2 is a game where end game has little competition from the rest of the players, depends on what your goals are and how you want to have fun, and what time you have :p.
If you want to play ranged. Sure, high damage and as long as the targets don't get too close to you you're outputting huge damage and staying out of harm's way.
You have to kite however, while currently it might work without kiting too much, come ct2 it will be impossible not to kite as in melee range the dmg will be decreased to one third of your normal damage.
ok, i think im down to two classes for my toon. (or three)
I read the tank guide suggested in this forum, its kinda hard to decide because usually official descriptions embellish ans make it more colorful the class.
I think I like palladin for it's survive and not bad dd skills, and as ive heard it fdoes decent damage with bow, having said that i was looking at SK-guide says its most offensive tank but easily stunnable-which can not be good in pvp since LOT of classes stun.
also have heard lightning strike is there but doesn't really land.
(I dont really like gladiators, dual swords all the time annoying)
I guess my questions are:
1. would my lvling greatly suffer if I chose paladin over glad
2. would i go wrong picking paladin over SK, Glad or DA for pvp.
thanks in advance.
(sorry im asking may be 2maqny questions but i dont want to get to lvl 40 and say ah crap all this lvleing for nothing.)
actually pally's arent that bad for pvp, atleast not 1v1, with their stuns if they land they can also heal themselves up... which is freaking annoying for the opponent, lol. As for grindage up to the good lvls.. 1-40 its pretty much the same pace as gladdie.. 40+ gladdie keeps about the same pace for a good while but pally (or tanks in general) slow down a bit more... but depending on your patience for grinding it might not be so bad after all
thanks, i got some time till 40. im lvl 10 sofar.
I also have lvl 15 wolf from my retired kamael 26. i noticed at this point it absorbs about 40% of xp.
when should i start using him or should i at all.
The wolf can deal a heap of damage, while it is true it steals exp, it more then makes up for it in damage. However untill you transform him into greater wolf (55+) he pretty much 1 shot to most mobs :(. Even as a greater wolf he's not all that resilient. Also to make him truly resilient to damage you need to buy him armors and weapons and use beast shots on him.
A lvl 60+ with cool buffs can go over 1200 P.ATT and decent pdef for a pet..
No clue how much nerfing the wolves will incur in CT2 thou, might make them crap again.
If you go Paladin, don't hesitate to pm me with any questions. I'm more than happy to help others learn the cool factor of being one :) As stated previously, PvP is actually not all that horrible - but gets far far better once you hit 70 and above. Be aware, leveling is its best in party for a paladin - soloing is not great at all. You need a great clan behind you.
I joined seems to be good clan on Teon, i hit 16 now. i still have time to decide between pally-Glad-DA.
one factor about pally that attracted me is his stun ability + can heal like bishop at least couple times which sounds very good in pvp.
even tho u deal less dmg oponent has to go thru 2 or 3 times your hp if u manage to heal yourself.
As far as i see DA doesnt have any offensive skills either, just may be couple crippling ones that isnt guaranteed to land and panther. Also DA doesnt look like will lvl any faster then pally.
only good part i see u dont have to lvl your panther as DA, where pally has to invest in wolf and make sure u never lose him.
p.s.
how does panther compare to wolf in patk pdef etc.
(if im misinformed about DA offense please tell me)

I see you would really like to PvP ^^
one factor about pally that attracted me is his stun ability + can heal like bishop at least couple times which sounds very good in pvp. Both Pally and DA have shield stun(top stun the game) and Glad has possibility to use stun(no duals however which is your prime) also Pally heal is kindof slow and not too powerful, but if you use it right, it'll be handy
even tho u deal less dmg oponent has to go thru 2 or 3 times your hp if u manage to heal yourself. Tanks aren't known for hp but rather defense, imagine this you have a guy with 5000hp with 600def and you have a guy with 3000hp with 1200 defense+extra 400def from shield def, who will live longer?
As far as i see DA doesnt have any offensive skills either, just may be couple crippling ones that isnt guaranteed to land and panther. Also DA doesnt look like will lvl any faster then pally. Yes most of your damage will come from the panther cause it does indeed hit really hard those skills fear, corpse drain, corpse aoe poison and slow, etc. are really for show. They almost never land, he best skills are panther, stun(your lifesaver) shackle, judgement, Ultimate defense, and your self buffs, at 3rd class change u have more better skills but lets not go there yet.
only good part i see u dont have to lvl your panther as DA, where pally has to invest in wolf and make sure u never lose him. yea...
p.s.
how does panther compare to wolf in patk pdef etc.
same level panther and wolf, wolf will be mincemeat, same level panther and great wolf, great wolf>panther, however, greatwolf is waaaaaaaaaaay more expensive, requires care, hard work, etc.
(if im misinformed about DA offense please tell me)
i had a pally friend, his setup was inf master focus and tallum heavy with the standard xp dye setup. he xp'd about the same on normal mobs and much faster on holy weak ones. my setup at the time was tallum heavy, tsu*sls +4 and same dyes, so no, going pally is not gonna mean much slower kill speed than a glad or (non aoe)warlord

I was specc'd with a Dragonslayer & Tallum etc through to about 73. It works fine up till then, but depending on whether your clan needs your services or not, you do really need to change back to a onehand + shield the closer you get to S grade. Besides, nearly all the special S grade skills need a shield.
Let me give you some Tank advise:
1)All tanks in pve (soloing) are same. The differences are negligible. So if u plan to solo a tank to lvl 76 for 3rd class i don't think u ll make it. I believe that you will stop in lvl 58-59 maximum. Theoretically the tank that does the most damage in pve and lvl's faster is dark avenger cause dark panther hits really really hard (requires much money to spend on beast ss and crystals). Practically as i said before in lvl 55+ u ll stop soloing and start lf xp groups mainly in catas. why? cause it's so boring to solo with a tank and u need too much time to kill a single mob.
2)pve abilities (pally-da): Even though they have much different skills these 2 classes are almost same at group pve. They have same pdef, mdef,hp stats and same self buffs. The main differences is that pally has better shield defense rate and resistance to dark attacks and of course angelic icon. So yes theoretically paladin is better than a da for pve (of course if u r about to die only a healer can save u and the amount of potions u carry).
3) pvp abilities: First u should know that tanks are not made for pvp (sad but true). A da has more offensive pvp skills(but not with good land rate) than a paladin and if u manage to keep you panther alive by hating your target then u have enough chances to win. But as i said tanks are not made for pvp and the reason is that whatever tank u ll make u ll hit your enemy at the same amount that a cp potion recovers him. Human tanks have low speed due to low dex, so during a pvp good luck in chasing your enemy trying to stun him. Generally pvp in l2 is a matter of equipment and the amount of cp pots u and your enemy carry. The one that has more adena invested on pvp will win. I hope i helped you...
thanks for the tips, i actually decided to go glad, i dont wana be dependent on clan to lvl me and idling in towns for lfg.
plus with some heals i believe i can use pole for some cash and stones grind.
Let me give you some Tank advise:
1)All tanks in pve (soloing) are same. nope, they're killing speeds are different. Paly and TK hunt fast on undead mobs, SK has hex and cubics to deal more damage, DA has panther. The differences are negligible. So if u plan to solo a tank to lvl 76 for 3rd class i don't think u ll make it. It is very well possible it's just for some people they find it difficult, I.E. tk's mostly becuase they for some reason refuse to fight undead mobs and fight at TOI and etc. I believe that you will stop in lvl 58-59 maximum. 55, 58, 62 is prime time lvling actually speeds up Theoretically the tank that does the most damage in pve and lvl's faster is dark avenger cause dark panther hits really really hard (requires much money to spend on beast ss and crystals). Practically as i said before in lvl 55+ u ll stop soloing and start lf xp groups mainly in catas. why? cause it's so boring to solo with a tank and u need too much time to kill a single mob. I kill quickly and solo in the catas with no buff slave, self buffs and panther only
2)pve abilities (pally-da): Even though they have much different skills these 2 classes are almost same at group pve. Man, not even close They have same pdef, mdef,hp stats and same self buffs. The main differences is that pally has better shield defense rate and resistance to dark attacks and of course angelic icon. So yes theoretically paladin is better than a da for pve angelic icon has quite a reuse and little time to run, + a paladin even a few levels above me, will never out damage me. (of course if u r about to die only a healer can save u and the amount of potions u carry). If you're about to die, UD and heal yourself, then soon as it wears off you have more then enough hp to escape. If your low on mp... at all, your doing something crazy
3) pvp abilities: First u should know that tanks are not made for pvp (sad but true). A da has more offensive pvp skills(but not with good land rate) than a paladin and if u manage to keep you panther alive by hating your target then u have enough chances to win. Get some skilled tanks together and watch them kill But as i said tanks are not made for pvp and the reason is that whatever tank u ll make u ll hit your enemy at the same amount that a cp potion recovers him. Human tanks have low speed due to low dex, so during a pvp good luck in chasing your enemy trying to stun him. you don't need to chase, shackle him or if your a pally, you can shackle one, or shackle many, it doesn't last as long as root but it has greater chance of landing and it will get you to your oppenent. if your fighting an archer you'll have an easytime as archers don't hit you hard due to majesty and reflect arrow Generally pvp in l2 is a matter of equipment and the amount of cp pots u and your enemy carry. The one that has more adena invested on pvp will win. Sadly that is all too true I hope i helped you...
