First of all, it's obnoxious to double post - especially on a weekend when you KNOW most NCsoft staff aren't even going to be looking at the forums - and especially not responding.

Ridiculous, IMO. Many people don't want yet another forced-to-participate event that clogs up our inventory. Everytime we have one of those events, people complain. The pig event was one of my favorite of all time, because it did not force us to participate and because it gave great rewards.
Your post would have been fine if you hadn't inserted your little spin on it. You're right, we do need another event, but you should have left it at that.

Following this I tryed to get a good event: good rewards, don't have to stop xping to get event items, only take 1 invintory slot)

Events where you don't need to collect 15 different letters to spell a word to get 1 eaD are generally preferable.
I wasn't a huge fan of the pig event but the bows from it are still entertaining :)
At least it had the right concepts in place.
As for do we "NEED" an event--meh. Whatever. Considering how much everyone complains about each one, it's a wonder the game dev's even spend time on them.
If my choice is between having an event and them actually working on development of the next chronicle or fixing the drop tables--I'd opt for the later two.
Don't get me wrong--I've made some good coin on some of them. But they are not critical to the game for me.

We need a good event, this is true and can be debated as to what people prefer, but that should be in a seperate post. The point now is that we need an event, period. And no, the gatekeepers are not an event, even if you name them that. Its like the patriot act, its called patriot, but there's nothing patriotic about it.
By this time last year we had at least 4 events since jan 1st depending if you count "call to arms" or Interlude as events, then it's 6 by this time last year.

And yes server update (interlude and CT1) takes time, but they were able to do it in 2007 whats changed?

As to what makes a good/great event. Give us items we can use or sell and its a good event ;). Give us a chance to get a boss jewel :eek:, even a small chance, and it's a GREAT event :cool:. Gives us hair color pots or face lift pots and it's a real bad event. And please, the pig event was tedious, annoying, and sucked [censored]. :confused:

Yea a lot of board warriors complain about events, Event I complain to people if I think an event could be better, but an event, even an ok event is better than no event. There is no doubt activity on the server goes up as a whole when there's an event, and thats good for everyone. And plenty of people like the events, but they dont post about it when they like them.
I can wait for the events... most of the events are time killers and don't realy aid in character progression (though there have been exceptions).
I would rather they devote more time and attention to the PTS and Live update comming our way... hopefully if they put some quality time and effort to these comming changes they will be less buggy and more effective come launch time ^^
I gathered my first millions with craft+event and it allowed me to get many more millions with this "starting investment". I think that for some new players it is essential to get those kinds of occasions. (yes incredible, but I know some new poor players, not e-bayers) Market is a bit down on Lionna atm, millions needed!
Plus the new event-quest are very nice but doesn't concern everyone. Though they are very needed (I think it would have been better to do a quest like the "Nobless Quest" than an event...)
Don't tell me NC soft needs to work on medal event or Pig or rabbit, pumpkin etc... since they already have the basic datas. So, 2 or 3 weeks after the merge, they could do that Event!
lol. you can't refuse being engaged in event... even if you would like to.
Actually, I have. There have been past events that were player participation optional. I've ignored those and did something else with my time.
With the events that are more or less mandatory participation, I've chosen not to log or hunt during those events. Playing the market is sometimes the best thing to do, anyway.
