I keep looking into the female Kamaels for a possible future project after I get back and reach 76 with both main and sub classes... ( Also looking into a DE Spell Howler... Not sure though still addicted to my Gladi last I checked...) anyway back on track here... I look at the powers and such for a Kamael and most of them require souls, then I look at the power used to obtain souls... (requires 247 exp) man, that seems like it is a bugger... And when I tested one of them to lvl 10 to get a new skill I needed a spell book or whatnot... For a weapons attack, not a blast... Seemed complicated and costly.
My question is this -
Is it that complicated to play a Kamael correctly (aka using all skills properly and keeping the soul count up high enough to continue skill tossing?)?
The whole having to absorb souls to execute some attacks seems a bit intimidating on paper...
Not really, You just level and gain souls, you can use skills if you have souls, there are different ways to gain souls
1. killing mobs will give you souls
2. reaching level 40 and getting life to soul to exchange some hp for a soul(more souls with each level)
3. soul gathering, use spirit ores to fill souls to max
Also you can use soul bottles to store souls for later use.
Just imagine your kamael having to use souls for skills as you gladiator having to use sonic charges for sonic skills.

Wow, ok that make sense, and I like the idea of storing the souls for later use... O_O
great analogy (sp?) btw...
Another question though...
I know that PvP in this game is a huge part of the play, which is mainly why I came over... How good is a Kamael Female (Dunno the name of it) fighter in PVP (I also have been told almost all classes are useful in PvP...) Mainly team PVP is what I am focused on...
As of yet there are only 2 types of PvP on in Lineage... 1v1 and alliance VS alliance... party PvP almost doesn't exist unless you are in involved in a major clan war.
(hopefully this will be addressed when the Underground Colloseum is up and running?)
And yes, most classes have a use in PvP (excluding the Shillen Elder and the Prophet). The Kamael Female is alternate playstyle of the standard archer: She is far less resiliant but has a wealth of offensive options.
My analogy for the Kamael classes in general is some thing like a combination class... they sort of merge more than one skillset into one class.
The Arbelester is a nice adaptation of the archer, like I said, but their Trap related skills are still without use so far as I can tell.

You don't know how use your Arbelester then. I hunt with Arbelester higher then me and they never use traps and then here I come along using traps and they like dam your good. I'm not good I just use the skills so I learn how 2 make them usefull
The Binding trap is the best I was in the cata the other day with a group and one of the Arbelester was watching how whoever we get in a Jam I lay traps and root the mobs so we can take them out using "real target" another great skill. SHe was saying Wow so that's how they work I never could get the mobs rooted.
Mind you She was A grade and I'm still low B yet I knew my class better. some reason she didn't know 2 lay the trap then Lure the mob into it by shotting it. plus if you get 2 much argo on you use your port skill then summon your dupe. it will hate all your mobs and use real target and take them out.
It's a very fun class if you use the skills and learn them.
Kameal's (mainly SB) are a support class and should be treated as such.
As far as PVP the Arbelester is the best for Female but the best PVP over all is the Bezerker for Kamaels.
Zerkers are the best at owning mages and other low HP classes but high HP classes are mostly going kill any Kamael.
You just Chicken Wings 2 Tank classes don't even try 2 fight them. ;)
Get a kamael of all 3 classes together who know what they're doing and know how their skills work and when to use them, how to use them, etc. And they will make a one big problem to people. The Kamael were specifically designed to work together in PvP, a lot of people haven't figured that and decides to not only go solo but use their character to 1/2 their potential resulting in a very fast BBQ hot winged death
I wonder what it would be like if a Duelist and Grand Khavatari teamed up and started nukeing people...
Equiped xbow for pvp and ranged circumstances...... roll anything i can hit..
fire up the duals/rapier for pve or short range circumstances.
Traps are great, everyone is like "wtf is that" all the time.
specially in pvp, nothing like roasting a toon 10 lvl higher then you with high mdef with 4-6 shots from a xbow after they've been rooted, stuned, poisoned and whatever else.
How does the female kamael do in their melee class? I am not a huge fan of guns/bows in RPG's for some reason... I love magic ranged though...

Soul breaker is like a sort of a dagger/ weak dark nuker hybrid.
They have stab like skills, nukes, debuffs, some buffs, they're an overall support class, but thats really all I know about them, honestly a better summary would come from someone who plays the class and actually knows how to work it cause you know... anyone can click on a mob and hit attack all day lol

From the sounds of it I may end up doing the whole ranged thing with my future female kamael (should I make her)... I just like the looks of them over the males... The male Kams look like panzies trying to stab a wall with a tooth pick... At least the women look "Cute" doing that...
1. Their buffs(mainly to support other kamael)
2. Their not made to run into battle and fight as they will be made into a play thing by other fighters
3. they have debuff and hold etc thet requires the use of another fighter class to take advantage of.
When you go to the library and see all the skills they get you would get the feeling their they're unstobbable and powerful when really, that lack of int and the unrealized potential of their high str makes them alot weaker than they look, but when they work together when someone else, that duo or team can be quite devasting especially a all kamael team
Well once a gladiator gets to mid 60s and get duelist spirit, it can 2shot a panther with blaster and TSS, but thats what hate lock is for. Before duelist spirit A good tank can kill a glad, after duelist spirit it could go either way, after duelist spirit 2 a glad would kill a tank.
Not that I've seen, People only make vids of them killing and killing and killing as if their unstoppable(edit out all the deaths) and the kamael vid would be pretty short lol
I wish I knew how to make videos... I so would! Obviously to make my characters look super badass but also to make a few other videos that show how the classes I play (atm only gladiator) do in combat... PvE and PvP... Win or Lose...
I found one video of how a kameal does in PvE... Its a pretty good vid, as far as showing some of the abilities. (No music takes it down a notch, for what it is... just showing gameplay...) They are fighting robots or something, I am not sure what lvl they are, or anything else but looks like they did a good job killing...

Edit: Found the no sound one and another that just shows some powers and stuff...
Does anyone have a good video of how both the berserker and the arbelester do in both PvP and PvE?

When they do Good we will make one :p
LOL... Leave it to Ashley... To be honest my future character after my gladiator is a toss up between a female kamael and a DE PS... (Well atm it is, it could change in the future of course... Never know!)
I remember I was fighting a SPS and he was dieing so he tried to BSOE but he got stunned as the animation went out and then he was ripped apart. LOL it was hilarious to everyone watching.
Gah... Yall have to make me jealous that I can't play right now? =(
I have random stories of people attacking me while trying to hunt that are pretty funny on my gladiator... And they just keep running in my head, over and over... My poor wolf died so many times thanks to "would be PK'ers"...
You guys should just keep fraps on while playing the Kamaels ... Just for that random moment where someone might attack you and you get something cool going... Just saying...
Ok... let me quick shred the misconseption that Soulbreakers are only a "support class". Anyone that thinks such realy is just showing there ignorance of the class. The only "support" spells they realy provide are Dark Weapon (group members only), and Dark Shield (to anyone). Seriously thats it... Any Kamael that tells you to cast Pride of Kamael on them rather than yourself is seriously screwing your capablity as a class. Reason you ask? MATK... pure and simple. Most of the most powerfull elements of a Soulbreaker is combining there Debuffs, with there attacks (melee, or magic). This is where the SB can shine... so you need to max buff yourself to be able to take full advantage of this. Your Pride of Kamael (Patk/Matk 3 min buff with 3 min recast) stacks with your self empower II buff. This gives you empower III matk, and helps one to land your debuffs, which then make your nukes hit harder, your Death Mark to land so you can "warp" in and "checkmate" them, etc.. after stealing there buffs of course.. hehe.
They are a complicated class to play well, and a blast in PVP. Currently we are very weak VS archers, and tanks in a 1 on 1 situation. Ones best role in PVP as a Soulbreaker is to augment your group in debuffs/damage, or hit someone distracted by someone else. Upcomming CT2's across the board evasion boost will help survivablity. Also in CT2 souls will not be required to use skills (which will help a ton in PVP as you dont gain souls from killing players atm, only the crits). Though they do affect the "power" of your skills of which I am trying to test on PTS atm.
Anyway... in PVP, do not ask your soulbreaker to "pride of kamael" on you unless you want them to gimp themselves. They need that Matk to do there job effectively. And the Patk does not hurt either ... esspecialy if they get death mark to land on someone. The difference in damage on a Checkmate with the extra patk is considerable.

No go PvP watch you get oneshotted when you try to run ahead in battle while the rest of your teammates think *haha idiot*
I play a soulbreaker an I found it best in pvp to play in gank squads using curse divinity shadow bind and voice bind if the target is a nuker. Tanks are fun to fight like that especially when they use ud only to have it stolen.

I've...I've... never seen a tank UD agains't a kamael.... this....this is an outrage!... I feel degraded from a ... he used UD agains't a kamael... wow...
I don't know...even against the fairly high mdef of a DA my imbue dark seed still usually lands...so does soul shock...and my myriad of traps...
My mdef is high enough that you can nuke me all day while I dance and it won't hurt that bad...your cat just isn't that big of a deal to put down if I can avoid you stunning me...
As with all tank classes actually killing one with a trickster is a long pain in the behind at best...and I usually run out of mana and wander away long before they die...but I can't say that I remember dying to one in 1v1 pvp...
And several tricksters? Unless they're just plain dumb they'll keep you in a state of perma-paralyze for...oh...forever?
The last class that could take on a full party of most anyone on a consistent basis and laugh uproariously over their dead bodies at the end was the OL...a LONG LONG time ago...before they could be Domi's...before drain cost 2.4 BILLION mana per cast for them...before...well...just before...
Ah the good old days....
All the same my pvp and PVE GRIND experiences have been very positive with my trickster...I like the multitude of skills she has...definately one of the most fun archers to lvl...even if she isn't quite so robust as my HE...and a lot of fun in PvP if for nothing else because she adds a new element to the way the game is played.
I was also amazed with the functionality of the Zerker (sub) she's only lvl 55 on the zerker...but all of her charge skills and big overhits make her a blast to play in the arenas with...where I was a little disappointed with the Arbalester's dps I was really quite pleased with the Zerker's.

^ Who said anything about playing stupid? The last thing you want to do is run out front, that a tanks job... hehehe
As for buff steals in PVP thus far I have stolen UD, UE, Frenzy, as well as several 76+ buffs.
