Great work... my char Belthasar has been renamed to Belthasar4... thanks a lot, now I might as well stop playing this game after 4 years.
Did you try actually clicking on that char? Cause if you had, it would have given you a pop up window asking for new name for your character and then you'd have been able to put your name.
Please try to do something in your account before whinning ><
same here, i had two characters with same name on merging servers, one in process of deletion. one was renamed xxxxx6 and the other renamed xxxxx8. i was wondering why neither of them has the original name?

Eynel
I wouldn't be "whining" if I hadn't already tried that.. it says the name is already taken.
Then it's not because NCSoft renamed your char XXX4, it's because someone else logged before you and took the name :/ Merges rules were announced and discussed in these boards for a while now.
Edit: AkA, you can choose any other name you can think of, don't have to be stuck with XXXX4
popup box works well ^^
also, BOTH characters get the popup box, not just the first one that logged in, so you should have gotten a chance to rename that character as soon as you logged in on it. im not gonna go into the free name change abuse possibilities, but ty NC!
I just wonder WHO took this name, since I already pre-merge tried to contact the person on kain that has the same name, and he didn't answer in 3 weeks.
So chances are someone took it who didn't have it before...
Guess it's just my bad luck and I wasn't fast enough :(
Sorry for my bad mood I know you're just trying to help.
