with the new merger, i think that even the more pve oriented clans (and there are quite a few), now more than ever will have to face the harsh reality that in order to find and keep a grind zone for more than average, will require frequent pvp. i'm guessing that these zones will be most effected by it:
Varka
Ketra (not as much)
FoTD
IoP
VoS
Forsaken Plains
Upper EV
Deep AL
BS
HS
ToI 5, and 9+
WoA (port, areas surrounding the tunnel, the angels might be open)
The infamous L-Room
Saints/Dark Omens
Dino Isle (maybe)
FoG, MoS, and Pagans are and always will be heavily contested so no question there. Baium/Tezza/Zaken/AQ has massacre written all over it.
sad but true?
edit: Hellbound, fairly new zone, I still have some time to go before I can enter, but I guess its probably in the same vicinity as the zones mentioned in the paragraph above.
Well im not technically there yet either. 10% to 75 for the first time, but i wouldnt mind being tagged with someone and getting jumped occasionally. Yes its annoying, but so is camping a spot and seeing no one for 4 hours straight, lol.
I haven't seen much yet. There were a few duo's in IoP nothing more. None tried to pk me, some buffed me. Your list should be shorter. But then again... since it's my first day back from months of time off, even my enemies from back then are waving and glad to see me back.
you cant expect more people to get higher level TO pvp if all you do is gank them and grief them over a grinding spot. so if you want to hate on carebears and newbs, you were one too, you probably just happened to level at a time where there werent alot of people on the server. watch your words, you were there once.

A sense of fairplay, long term planning, empathy: three things that you are trying to appeal to which many(most) L2 players either possess in a diminished quantity or not at all. In other words, you're talking to a wall. I don't say that to ridicule you, I say it because that is the nature of the game.
If you're going to try to change the mind's of fellow L2 players, good luck. The only thing that most L2 players understand is brutal violence and even then they'll talk smack from the dirt.
Make some friends. Exp in areas off the beaten path. Try to be forgettable. If you start opining about how things should be or what areas you'd love to level in then you'll just get frustrated and become bitter.
Well wait a minute ... just because there are more people on the server, and thus more competition for the good grinding spots, I don't think PvP-for-spots will necessarily increase. I mean, most L2 players know that if a spot is taken, it's taken. Sure there are a few that will PK for a spot, and certainly if you have a war with the other clan, you will PvP for the spot. But I don't think too many people go red on a random stranger just because they are in a spot they want to use (some, but not many).
If I go up to one of my favourite grinding areas (HS and IoP for me at the moment), and it's taken, then that's my bad luck. I might PM them and ask how long they'll be. I might PK them if they are clearly bots, or if we have a war with that particular clan. But otherwise is it really worth it??
Edit: important raid bosses are an exception, there's often PvP for those!
Enh.. I haven't had a single issue yet. I agree with the above post. There is always SOMEWHERE else to go, if you are just out grinding.
Raid mobs, large parties, & cata pulls are another story.
Also -most- players know their own kill/respawn rate and 99% of the time finding a new spot is as easy as moving 20 yards or 1-2 rooms in any direction. Very few people complain that you are xping in the same area if the mobs around them are respawning faster than they can kill them anyway.
Just running around yesterday, I saw 4 bot groups in Ketra, and 6 in Varka ... and a Crap Load of characters Killing themselves to guards in Goddard, so I think its safe to say Hinde had a HUGE bot problem... can't tell you the last time I have seen so many farmer groups in a day on back on Gustin.
So, since the populations were fairly similar...we can conclude that Hinde players on average are WEALTHIER than Gustin players.
QED.
Thanks Jigs. You've just ruined my self-image.
Not really.. I checked prices on both servers and items were selling for much higher on Gustin before the merge. That would suggest that Gustin players had more wealth, regardless of bot numbers. I would assume that if a seller could get more for something (especially an OE weap) they would. Hinde sellers just couldn't. ^^;;
So if Gustin had a lot of extra cash.. and Hinde had a lot of extra junk.. perhaps by now we are even. ^^
Lol guys don't be so optimistic about PKing varka/ketra/DarkOmen bots. A cov/bd/sws lvl 80 destro with not lagging bish and EE is a hard thing to deal with if the driver happens to be not afk) Having PK=0 is highly recomended.
More like:
Hinde have a bot problem. Gustin did have a bot problem (but they were gone as their market/profit dropped :p ). Now... Phoenix have a bot problem, and to conlude using the detail in the first sentence above... you know where most of the bots are come from :p

Before we throw crap at the other server, keep in mind that the new population totals of legit/active played players increases potential customer base.
So to be honest, many of these soulless probably restarted from before or created new toons to get them up.
Varka/Ketra area is different, but the over all picture can not be argued that because there are more now, and we didnt have many before, the other server must have had many.
Gustin was ***** twice by the new Euro servers. Populations plummeted after Franz AND Luna. The soulless went with the actives that left.
Just be careful when debating arguments that have basic logic flaws. Those that do lose badly.
It's true. I left the game for a year and came back. My first thought was WOW Hinde has really cleared up the bots. Also, as I pointed out to my boyfriend the server merge meant that clan halls went up for sale. Everyone knew max bid was 2bil and I am sure every clan wanted to try for a hall, regardless of how big or small the clan was. That probably created more demand for the bots to supply, if you get my drift. ;)
