Go ahead, just note that you'll probably be passed for actual tanking over the other three. So if you were psyched to tank raid bosses, you might want to reconsider. Shillien Knights do have nice strength, and are sometimes thought of as mage tanks (I think?) due to some of their magic skills - but yea, they're fragile in comparison to the other tanks.
You will be able to do all things other tanks can do, but your strengths will be there where high hp is not so much of an issue, like standard party hunts and soloing PvE.
But if you get +CON -STR Tattoos you will be very much like a standard tank.
If you plan to tank in a big clan that is regular raiding you should not take an SK, though. Many human tanks take +CON too and high hp on a tank are simply much safer and better healable by a Bishop.
But main thing is to take the tanking class you feel the most comfortable with! Shilen Knights have a lot of cool debuffs and cubics, it's really fun to see them play, and if you want to go for a high damage and high defense class that does not look as ugly as a destroyer, the Dark Elf Knights are a good choice! ;)

If you Want to be a Tank make a Human period. If you Just want to be a Cool Knight Class With some Tank skills then go for the SK but think of your self as more a Tank Hybrid then a Real tank... ;)
SK is like takeing a kamael, ripping off his other wing, and throwing heavy armor on him and teaching him new dark magic and tanking techniques, but like a kamael takeing hits is not a strong point .........ooo BBQ kamael... finger lickin good
I'm not sure how many SK's you guys have seen in game, but most of what you are all saying is totally incorrect. I am the main Raid Boss tank for my clan, and I have never even come close to dying in any raid. Nor is there any extra effort from the healer in comparison to a human tank. Not to mention that I have -6 CON from dyes and Majestic Heavy.
DE and LE tanks both have incredibly high shield block rates in comparison to the human tank's higher HP. In just about any situation aside from poling the shield block ratio evens out to the same amount of damage absorbed. While humans may have higher HP, they are getting hit a lot harder.
Furthermore, one thing that everyone seems to be forgetting is agro management. The tank that does the most damage, and crits the most will hold agro the most. Cubics also generate hate automatically on tank classes who use them. Therefore both SK and TK will hold agro more efficiently than human tanks. Who really cares if you have 1k more HP when you lost agro and your whole archer party died?

There's no excuse for a tank to lose argo unless you BSOE, if you lose argo then you're a terrible tank
I guess you've never tanked Longhorn or any higher level bosses with CoV archer parties backing you up then. Some bosses lose agro on the tank without fail every single time they are killed (usually at a specific % of HP). CoV archer crits will steal agro from any tank from time to time even with OE'd aggression.
The point is being able to regain agro before your entire raid dies, which higher damage output and cubic using tanks end up being better at. If raid tanking was all about HP, and agro management was so easy, then destroyers would still be tanking raid bosses.
Just attending the raid isn't the same as tanking the boss. If you had been the main tank you would know what I'm talking about.
Raid bosses go crazy and lose hate on tanks all the time in higher levels. This is why people don't tank epics. It's ridiculous to assert that good tanks never lose agro on any boss ever, because that is impossible. I defy any other tank who plays this game to make such a foolish claim.

Always better 2 have a few tanks Kiting and spaming hate while Range attacks kill the Beast. Every raid I went to like that the Tanks held the argo and most of them were DA's a few pladin's, 1 TK and 1 SK that died.
Only 1 time with Longhorn did we have a DA tanking and everyone died (please anyone that was at that raid no names be nice) and lets just say we don't let that DA tank alone anymore ;) However We did end up killing the RB after Summoning up another DA. :p

thats crazy cuz when i was on bartz i used to tank longhorn without loseing aggro only when we had a pow nuker group is when i losted it but i got it back cuz i can root long horn and stun him so i get aggro back
i know also how to hold aggro when two lvl 76+ titans use frenzy at the same time and not lose agrro with cov sws and dances on them
so like me and vidarr are say not sure what Sk or TK u see on ur server but they suck
