i checked the bidders list of the clanhall we bid for...

did they pay any money to NC, or does NC decides who get the halls???
Check if anyone besides you has the 'clan hall auction' privillege. It is possible that someone talked to auctioneer, pressed 'my selected items' link, then pressed cancel and CANCELED your bid. And then he/she made a rebid but now it's too late
I figured as much. But was it a bug with the display, or the order in the auction mechanics has also changed? Does it mean that the first bid is no longer fisrt, if it is displayed last now?
(Perhaps some gm or Alyra herself might clarify the issue?)
On an alt clan, go bid the min amount for one of the dion clan halls, wait a few hours then change your bid to min+1 adena
it's fun what happens with the order
like I said before ... nobody ever said the order in which you see the bids at the auctioneer is ranked by anything, either time or size ...
oh and if you do try the alt clan/dion ch thing dont cancel your bid you ll loose money, let it run out, you wont get the hall but you ll get all your money back
Well, I have different stories from different people. Some said it was ok later, but the issue with one clan hall that involved the biggest clans on Hinde at that time was quite strange indeed. FS bid first, then, some time later, BH did, and the latter got the CH. No need to say those clans didn't even consider bidding anything less than max... So, I hardly feel relaxed about it atm...
Look, right now it is not about the two I mentioned.
I have 2 more clans on the same auction, and one of them is smaller than us, the other - something I have never heard of.
As for the bid order, I placed the bid myself and it was first. And it stayed first till the morning restart of Phoenix. Now, none of the clans involved are majors, including us, although all can be called second echelon (except the one I don't know). And I have heard from other people of similar incidents exactly after the restart.
Naturally, I sent a petition to GM's, and hope to get some answers before the 15th. Still, I am also trying to find out as much as possible, hence the posts here.
Yes, if you put in more than clan wh max (2.147b), you get an error message (of course), and if you put in less than clan wh max but more than 2.00b, the amount gets reset to 2.00b.
Well, I can't speak for everybody, but I did my bid by hand, just as every other part of the game. And still I got the bug exactly after today's morning unplanned restart.
And I doubt it is the same, since the idea was to place a bid right after the restart, meaning the npc wasn't there right as we logged. I do not know if it would make any difference for the automata, but there were like thirty people standing there waiting for the auctioneer to appear. And quite many of them legits as I have heard.
If you didn't own a CH before the merge, I would keep my mouth shut.
I don't think you deserve to even bid on one, but NCSoft apparently thought you should.
In my opinion the fact that clan hall owning clans may lose to non clan hall owning clans sucks.
I really wish NCSoft would rethink this one particular piece of the server merges.
They are throwing away the work that clans did for years and the money paying for them and upgrading the buffs/skills of the clan hall was no picnic either.
So yeah... if your complaining about your bid and you didn't own a clan hall before the merge..... shut up.

I second that.
And let some clans own 4 CHs with alt clans or 60% of the halls to be held by inactive clans that maybe has 1 member logging in every month to place some adena in the CWH to keep the CH?
I like what they did. now everyone had a fair chance of getting one. My clan owned a CH in Dion back in C1 and when C4 was released we sold Dion to get one in Giran and lost the bid to ebayers.

I agree with your first point, but not your second. Hardly a 'Fair Chance' ...
The way it was handled was a bit unfair for Euro players, also the fact that as soon as the server came up, you had to hope and pray you had your character name, and if not a new one that would work... not to mention the hope that you had the adena in your WH from your old one getting sold...
NcSoft should have at least at the very minimum offered a 24 hour lag period to let people get settled and situated, and then open up the bidding. Personally I would have given it 7 days to open up the bidding, and then cut the wait time on the Auction down to 7 days.

I and my clan leader are Euro players and so is the rest of the clan.
I copied all my toon names to the server that my server where gonna get merged to, to make sure I won't have that problem.
I don't know if this is true or not, but I have heard that if you bid are the first bidder and bid minimum bid and then rise it to maximum before the auction is over you get the CH even if the others placed a 2bil bid first.

Redboan
Well, fyi, we'we had exactly the same clan hall before the merge, so, please, save your arguments for someone else.
As for "deserving" - who are you to tell me about who deserves what? If NCsoft decided to do some things the way they did - put up with it. That is their decision, not yours and not mine either (yes, I tried to persuade them to keep the auction among those that had the CH before only, but nobody cares anyway).
My question was about the "change" in the order that concerned several high grade halls, while seemingly not affecting many others. And in every case the first bidder ended up on the bottom of the list. So whatever it is, it seems like a bug to me. Therefore I went through a petition, getting an answer that it goes to Q&A, but the only thing support themselves can do is to wish us luck.
Well, however it ends, the game won't stop for our clan, it's just going to mean someone won't get their FOTD or HS ch...
Oh, and in case you are wondering... EatTheRich and me are two different people... in fact, two different clans, and I am sure we're talking different CHs as well. In my case, it's Traban chamber in Rune. Inquisitio clan at your service.
I don't know if this is true or not, but I have heard that if you bid are the first bidder and bid minimum bid and then rise it to maximum before the auction is over you get the CH even if the others placed a 2bil bid first.
Doesn't apply in my case, since I placed the first bid and it was max right from the beginning...

As far as I know this is true, where you could bid minimum on the first day and the last day of Auction raise to max and still get clan hall even if the people who bid after you technically Bid the max first, unless they changed it.

As I have heard, this is not a design flaw, but rather the way it was intended to work. In any case, the order of the bidders is messed up, and it has nothing to do with bid sizes (you are not supposed to know who bid how much, or, at least, that's the info I got from all the forums on all the networks :D )
Oh well, we just have to wait a few more days to find out, I guess...

The clan hall would go to whomever bids the maximum amount first.

Unless they changed it recently, Alyra is wrong. When we got our Aden ch (long time ago), we bid 50m as the first bidder (because we did not have enough money in clan wh to bid max), another clan bid max (we know that clan, we talked to them so we know they did, they even wrote a petition about it afterwards), we raised to max, we got the ch. So the other clan was the first to bid max, but we got the ch.
I have a suspicion about this. Maybe NC is somehow weighting bids based on previous CH ownership. I certainly hope so, as I belong to Core, and we were forced to rebid on a CH that had been Core's for a long, long time. Regarding EatTheRich's original questions:
Did we "pay any money to NC?" Huh? No offense, but, are you high? Unless someone was hiding such a deal from the rest of the clan, there's just no way. The whole idea sounds insane to me.
And "does NC decide who gets the halls?" Um...yep. Like it or not, most of the clans who had CH's last week won't have them next week, and a mess of clans that never had a shot at one before got their shots this week. And the final call will be NC's. I'm crossing my fingers that they're just trying to be fair to the people who can't gain from this, who worked their collective butts off to get these CH's years ago, who are feeling a little...robbed... right about now.
To sum up, since Core was one of the two original owners of this CH, it would make sense for NC to give them(err, us) a bit of, well, preferential treatment, along with Gustin's original CH owner, in the bidding process. My hope is that we're just seeing an attempt to be fair.

No offense but this is obviously not the case, as one of the people complaining above already said she had the exact same clan hall pre-merge and she was one of the ones who got her bid shifted down.
it's changed because it's changed. former winners turned losers. don't panic, don't dispute, be satisfied. the things go its own way, nobody will do anything to change it for someone. you can relax and enjoy. some from you play this game for years and you still demand something. ahehe... you never learn.

Oops - I hadn't noticed that. ****. Now I'm confused too.
Guess we'll just have to cross our fingers, and see how it shakes down.
Seems like Lineage 2 is just a brightly packaged version of Calvinball. You can't play to win because the rules will always change before you cross the finish line. ^^;;

just to avoid missunderstandings: i didnt blame CORE to deal with NC to get the hall, that statement was meant to be ironic. REALLY SORRY if that wasnt obvious to all, it wasnt my intension to blame some1 for that....

So the other clan was the first to bid max, but we got the ch.
I can also confirm this. Alyra is unfortunately wrong. Provided you bid FIRST (even a small amount), and then subsequently raise your bid to the highest OR EQUAL HIGHEST bid (i.e. usually max bid), you win. So like most other things in L2, the winner is essentially determined by who clicks fastest when the auction goes up. ******ed system but that's how it goes.
Order of bidders on the list means precisely zero. It changes randomly after downtimes etc.
I find it a bit pointless that people seem to think any third party program played a role in clan hall bidding, considering this was the first time this type of situation has ever happened.
List of Bidders means nothing ignore that this what it comes down 2.
Also if you check most of the little 2 or 1 member clans that got a clan hall is own buy someone rich on your server using a Alt clan to make money off the ones that have the money but didn't log in time 2 make first bid. They will be selling soon.
It's all about getting your bid in first.
MAX BID is 2bill period. Who ever bid 2 Bill and was ahead of the lesser bidder got the Clan hall.
Say Clan A bid 1 bill and clan B Bid 1 Bill. Clan a gets worried but don't have more money so they stick with 1 bill. At this point Clan A will get the hall.
Now here comes Clan C and they bid 2 Bill at this point clan C has the hall in the bag.
Clan B saw clan A never rebid so they guessing they Bid 2 bill so they said screw it they are first bidders so they have the hall and just stays at 1 bill. (yet if they had up they bid to 2 bill clan B would have the hall) so now Clan A see 2 clans that Bid after them. They are scared at this point that some one has Bid 2 Bill but they don't have 2 bill.
Now comes clan D they late 2 the game (losers) they see 3 other clans have bid on the same hall they thinking bah weak clans with no money we got this and they bid 2 bill. Not knowing clan C already bid 2 bill so they have it in the bag so far.
Along comes clan A Ally clan E they loan clan A 1 bill and clan A ups the bid to 2 bill.
