Well, those you can buy from NPCs at town (not forts), are pretty weak, I think. Dunno about P.Attack but I tried the M.attack talisman and it added 12 matack :p
The ones for sale from NPC's in town 'work' but as was mentioned are pretty modest.
They are probably worth what they cost though as they give you minor boosts in stats for a time.
Since I tend to solo I use some of them. Meh--might as well throw them on.
I use +1 evasion talis most of the time I'm hunting on my TH.. unless I'm in party and certain that I will rarely have agro. My plan is to complete my zubei set as soon as I can find a shirt rec, and then I'll have +5 evasion between the two. ^^

Go doom light instead, the +3 dex adds 3 evasion, not to mention more crit rate and atk speed and runspeed.
Doom light might be one of the best light sets out there.

According to L2Calc its +2 to evasion from that Dex boost.. but regardless.. you make an excellent point. I didn't realize Dex translated into evasion so easily.
But **** I've built all pieces but the shirt lol. No choice now! Plus my clan has been helping to try to farm ~55 Rift for the recipe. I can't just give up lol.
Yes basically I thought Nightmare offered better survival in solo, small groups or pvp, but looked absolutely terrible to me as well. Hence my debate. But most of the time I play, I am in duo or trio and often taking hits, so it probably suits my playstyle better.
I am a live player and play with other live players. I do not usually have VR because I do not usually get to group with one of our SE's. I never want berzerker spirit in duos but always receive it when grouping with my Bishop friend because she insists that healing me is too boring unless she casts it.
Yes I believe the town-bought talismans are weaker. It's actually pretty obvious that they are, actually. BUT, I will admit that some of the talismans have a pretty decent effect. It totally depends on your class and stats though. I.E. the patk talisman seems to add absolutely nothing to my patk, but I'm an orc destroyer with a +str tat, so my patk is pretty high as it is. But when it comes to the moving speed and pdef talisman, I notice a difference. The moving speed gives me a couple extra points to speed (makes a difference as a destroyer, trust me ^^), and the pdef one actually adds almost 20 points. That's a decent amount.
If the patk talisman adds some sort of skill or whatever in your skill window, that would be interesting. I'll have to check it out. Seems a bit unlikely...but I could be wrong.
In any event it's good to experiment with them. The healing power one works great for my Warlock (haven't tried it on my other mages), and the MP regen one works great for just about any of my mage toons...especially my SE. It's fun to try it out.
the BLUE colored talismans are "ACTIVE" talismans. look in your skill bar, youll see the talisman icon under Item Skills. Use it!!
unfortunately, its a pretty gimp talisman, you will get about 10 patk out of it for a short duration, then youll need to re-use the talisman.
the YELLOW talismans are "PASSIVE" talismans. equipping them gives an instant effect for the lifespan of the talisman.
the Red/white talisman for hp/cp heal heals about 100 cp, and 100 hp together, with like 5 mins cooldown. IIRC cast time not affected by cast speed, and is not targetable.
