If it's Franz, it's Botted. Not even an ounce of doubt in that.
Unless you have 2 hours sleep per night and are fed caffine through a drip-feed, there is no way you could be lvl 82 or 83 on Franz without botting. Unfortunately for people who do get 80 or above people will always think they are botters because of the insane amount of time spent to do it. However, on a new server like Franz, not possible.

Well Franz is two years old almost, plenty of time to get the high levels if you really put in the time. We have a couple of 8* in our clan and they are legit - and also keep several coffee farmers in business :D

Well, I think you have your answer in the timbre of your response.
Players who are not higher lvl clearly don't have respect for higher lvl players but it's very possible that is because higher lvl players don't have any respect for lower lvl players.
However, I suppose part of it could be because there are players who are higher level who admit they bot or purchase adena. Interesting enough, no one ever considers that they might just be saying this to piss people off. Not that there aren't people who cheat but I think you get the point.
So lower lvl players see higher lvl players, know that there is rampant cheating and there is a certain bit of anger that is generated.
Now couple that with a few choice words from higher lvl players and you essentially get the "haves" and "have nots" hating each other.
Like the BD I partied with on my tyrant, who didn't wanna waste soulshots on duals, coz she had a pole. And told me to "just heal her" with my dual boxed oop buffers. What a tool lol.
Like I wouldnt play a polearm class myself if I wanted to heal in an aoe party.
Though I also think that many players find a lot of enjoyment (or perhaps a respite from leveling) in being social.
I do remember some of my earlier days when people would just want to talk and I would be thinking "hey... I need to lvl... let's pay attention to the task at hand!"

some of us lowbies are low level but not by choice. i would LOVE to get 80+, but i cant. i have a job, and many other RL commitments during weeknights. aside from that the times i DO get to play get interrupted frequently with phonecalls, kids, etc.
grinding my butt off isnt very appealing either. im 64 looking to get 65 by the end of the year.
motivation to exp - very important. and right now, i aint feelin it.

Sigh. Everyone makes their own choices in life. Spud, you are a casual player, by definition, because of your RL demands and any other reason you have for not putting in a lot of hours to level up your toon.
There are actually a lot of players that are students (and there are also other situations that apply here) that don't have jobs, don't have children, spouses, etc. etc. and they spend their time playing Lineage II.
Although I'm not one of those students, I've managed to level myself up pretty nicely, just playing Lineage a couple hours a night and during the weekends. I would be 80+ if I didn't mess around with noble, 2nd subs, academy alts and that kind of thing, and had just focused on my main, like I did to get level 79.
I'm not saying what you are accusing the people 80+ of isn't true in various incidences, but come on. It's just a conflict that i would call resentment and jealousy. And it is overabundant in this forum.
Like someone said, a serious discussion of high level game play can hardly be discussed here without the thread being high-jacked by accusations of this kind. It's a little pathetic. And it explains perhaps why that kind of discussion is taken to other boards and people who want to know about this kind of information here are plain SOL. It's too bad, because it is the newest part of the game and it's pretty interesting.

That's not true. I'll admit it is harder to get to a high level with a full time job, but it all depends on how you choose to spend your free time.
If I didn't have other hobbies, I could probably come home and spend 3-4 hours a night playing L2. And I could play like 10+ hours a day on the weekend if I wanted. I'm single and have no kids, so I could do that if I had the willpower, LOL. I don't, however, never have, no matter how much I try to force myself to play, I always find other ways to waste my time and before I know it, it's time to go to bed.
And I've got a weird job too, where I'm gone from my house from 7:30 am till 8:30 pm. And I could still probably fit at least 3 hours of play in if I logged right in and played while I ate dinner. If I had a regular job (omg... that would be so nice, having from 5:30 pm all the way till bedtime FREE!) I know I'd play at least 3 hours a night, every night, because I'd still have time for my other stuff.
Also, situations change. The only reason I'm as high as I am today is because I got to a relatively high level a long time ago. When this game came out I was a full time college student with a part time job - that left me tons of time to play (I never realized how easy I really had it as a college student... I always thought I was so busy)! Then, I decided to take 6 months off after college just to relax. :p I played about 8 hours a day that whole time. After that, I entered the work force and since then have gradually become busier, including an internship I'm currently doing in addition to my job, but I already got a decently high level back when I was a lazy bum. :)
My point is, not everyone has kids, a spouse, responsibilities, full-time job, etc. and that doesn't mean that they're all leaches on society. They're just at different stages of their life than you.

So nice to see that i'm not alone with family life. I have 3 kids and another bun in the oven. :D I have full time work and other social activities. I get a little game time at the evening when the kids are in bed, but i have managed to get to my second sub. So at the moment i'm 75/75/60. I have been playing since chronicle 3. I also have a few alts that are 60+.
I have never botted and will never do so, because i still enjoy PVE alot. There are so many nice areas in the game, so i like to spend some time there. But i look forward to the boost from next update on xp gain. ;)
And how about us ppl who sleep less (i sleep 5 hrs a day) play l2 at work(my work takes 3 hrs outta my work day the rest is my own time in wich i play l2) my wife is as addicted to l2 as i am, and my daughter is 10 so she can entertain herself.

Ghost, I think that post you quoted was written in frustration. Forums are known for a lot of intolerance, so you usually have to have a tough skin to post on them.
However, just in discussing this, we are derailing the thread. It began as a discussion about a high-level-required experience. Like I said before, because of this kind of derailing, the official forums rarely will contain any really helpful information about experiences you can only get when you are high level. It's too bad, because when you (generalized) do get there... if you do... these forums won't be a place you can go to get answers.

in truth ALL forums derail threads due to the nature of discussions. nobody actually answers one question with one answer, especially when it pertains to any information involving the combination of items such as "what should my build be at level x"
SOMEONE inevitably picks up one tiny fragment of the post, and runs tangentially into something completely different.
since the thread asked one clear question and one clear answer was given, the thread has served its purpose and now the loose ends of the topic must be satisfied. we must answer the question of botting, of how to get to high level legitly, and of who the people are that are unlegit.

i agree that ppl that dont have a clue about efficient lvling or game mechanics exist out there, but the fact that spudnik is 64 after so many years and the fact that u and me and everyone else with several buffers at his disposal can lvl a char to 64 in less than a month isnt necessary because he doesnt know how to xp. I think he hunts with no ss, no buffs and average gear so he probably has to rest every 3-4 mobs. Maybe he's also got no clan hense no help in either gearing or partying.

Well, if his performance here on the forums gives any indication, it would be that he has no clan. I'm fairly sure he doesn't box a buffer either, coz even if he just boxed an SE, grinding would have been far too easy.
Hunting without SS is about the stupidest thing one can do though. Most of the time u actually make the money back that you used to buy the SS. Heck, I even spam SS on lawlis bd sub when she is in party with my Gladi.
I guess im the opposite of spud. I have 2 nobles, 3 desktops, 1 laptop, all the buffer classes there are. Add to that a low post count and some game knowledge :)

Neither gives you any "return" beyond entertainment, unless you plan to sell your character for cash. A character level is no more meaningful accomplishment than a post count or an imaginary friend. It only has what meaning you assign to it.

Np spud. I play 4 accounts at the same time on 3 comps. At the moment Gladi/BD/WC/Bishop, and it seems pretty good so far. Gladi on main comp, bd on second comp with 2 macros (one to assist gladi, and one to dance and then assist gladi), last comp has WC on one cliend (basically buffs once every 20 mins) and the Bishop, who every now and then drops a major heal (or major group heal if spawn is tough).
As for real life, I'm no doctor, I don't have a car (or even a licence), no wife, but also no mortgage. I do have a well paying job (or I couldnt afford 6 accounts and paying for a ventrilo server monthtly).
I will probably not impact millions of lives either.
But hey, at least I didnt make a fool out of myself in thousands of posts :)

My original character created on the 1st day of C3... is Armenua. I love my toon. Have tried others (SR, EE, HE, WC) but always come back to her because it has the most challenge. The only "alt" I ever got to 75 was my subclass so I could be noble. You can call me a bot all you want. I will just laugh... because your opinion is not what I base any reality on.
Spud just likes to cause waves. He's a milder version of Artie. He's basically a nice guy, but hey, when you're stuck at work and the forums are your only entertainment, nothing like some emo post to juice things up!! I know that one!!

IMO, there have been many threads that were locked over the years for no good reason. This, however, is a thread that SHOULD have been locked and has not. I have no idea why, other than that the "notify moderator" button isn't quite working at the moment.

no really. unless youve got some (to quote HGMSPam) "MAD programming skills" for your network of boxes i'd think youre limited to controlling 2 accounts on 2 machines via macros which completely fail since hellbound update. i pity you.
Just an FYI, I don't pvp, I've done it in the past, but not so much anymore. The scenario was someone trying to pk me tho.
I have not complained how our server was dying, not sure where u found that.
As for the macros, they work fine. Every once in a while the wc's macro (all she does is buff all her buffs every 20 min) hangs up and skips a buff, but I can click that one by hand if that happens.
The bishop has:
/target name
/useskill major heal
/target main dd
/target main dd
That macro cant break, its way too short.
As for the BD:
/useskill dance of fury
/useskill dance of fire
/useskilll dance of warrior (or inspiration depending on mobs evasiveness)
/target main dd
/assist
/attack
The BD also has a second one for just attacking:
/target main dd
/assist
/attack
The BD's macros have not broken so far, not even the dance macro.
I use 3 desktops atm (too lazy to hook up the laptop) so the wc's client is windowed right behind the bishop (since wc only need to do 1 macro per 20 mins). Which means at all times I have Gladi, BD and Bishop on one screen each, with one keyboard each.
Took me about half a day to get the rythm going with using 2 attackers, but once u get the hang of it its not really tough at all. And you dont really need mad programming skills either, its just macros, not rocket science.
heh. I even have used that bishop macro on myself when leveling an alt on another client :) But I had:
/target name
/bsps
/major heal
I didn't think of having it retarget so it can follow. That's a good idea!!
I use that on most macros, so the box isnt left standing around somewhere on its own.
I've had macros that would use a shot also, but mostly on my ES and PS, since I only want to use it when healing the pet, not while windshackling the mob.
The bishop does heals and gives ww, zerk, body of avatar. I found it easier to just have him spam bsps all the time than make a macro where casting speed bonus of bsps couldnt be 100% sure. I make the adena back thoughs, since I'm always fully buffed and have dances and use crit duals on both the gladi and the bd.
Add my name to the list of lets bash people with alot of game time but under 70+. I started back in prelude took months off from game made alts deleted alts made more alts started a OL whose 54 now in C4 and my 1st toon has dlvled and caught all the aggro this game has so my sp counts more than anyone's at his lvl and i'm a casual player and solo'd majority of the time so put a sock in it :).
As you can see there is some of us that explore the whole game and play to have fun with 1 acct since i'm still not feeling a need to go buy 1 acct for every class in game just so i can rush through the lvls to catch up to what's starting to be the arrogance of higher lvls that i've heard on server. Like 1 day i was asking for a party when i was on an alt and told i'd have to solo till i was a higher lvl for example.
If i'm supposed to turn into that type of player at higher lvls thanks i'll stay lower and help the new players play like i've been doing and share what i know from my time as a low player cuz seriousely if your gonna make smart remarks cuz of how he plays with that amount of time in game he's not alone so add my name to your list kids:) my acct dates 2005 apr 10 and highest toon is 54 Overlord no other accts . If that wasn't Prelude then i'm wrong on the chronicle but i have been playing for awhile.

Topic had merit and very interesting to know who got that high legit and how the legit players did it ,but like stated with all the cheating they can't cuz they will be accused of cheating if they try to say they were legit. So some legit players will just stay quite on the issue is my guesse.
Like what's been stated smittie millions of times in this game . They play hours on end and with more than 1 acct which in reality if ya stop and think about it , kinda looks like a bot train don't it if ya got more than your boxed buffer behind ya tagging along.

I know perfectly well alot of you that 2 box don't have it on auto follow so don't go there :).
I've played with people that have a boxed buffer and they always find a safe spot to drop thier buffer before they start to grind and if they're in a cata they put the buff pet in the hall so it can get exp and not die.
We all know how to get to the high end game that was never what this was about at all. And like the poster asked i've been wondering also what the highest lvl was and Mysticlance and some others said Phoenix has a lvl 83 or so which is cool .
So i'll add this question to the topic since it's the perfect spot for it :).
What's the highest lvl on Phoenix our baddest [censored] DOMINATOR is and if the Dominator's on Phoenix don't mind me asking what subclasses do you all have at moment i don't want to copy cat if i can help it :).
I'll look for a non subbed melee,summoner, or nuker class when i can sniff the sub lvl but till then i gotta satisfy my curiosity.:)

Eammonn, feel free to pm SpunkyMonkey any time to see how to play 4 chars with 3 comps, without having them sit in hallways or anything. I'll even let u leech for a buff round or 2, if ur not too high above my lvl that is.
Thanks anyone can do that it's not like it's that hard of a thing to brag about the games already as easy as it is with point and click. And besides what's the point of playing an MMORPG if ya are gonna do that in the 1st place?
:) you got the adena then just point and click and viola you got your swords . nuff said and i didn't mean to ofend you all but seriousely with boxing being a part of the game like it is now my point was nothing about it will impress me now since it's so common.
I'm a very hard guy to impress enough as it is and with how the game is set up now days , boxing cuz they wanna just get to s grade to pvp, cheating just to hit end game to pvp , it all is part of the game and when it's talked about i just shrugg it of as such cuz it's nothing new.
A person that plays 1 acct and gets to end game with nothing but his clan and friends is what the game was originally designed to be and those people that hit 70+ that way are impressive cuz they did it old school like some would say.
New school way of buying adena, running arround with a buff pet (no offense again cuz i have friends that do it) buying an already s grade acct that stuffs part of the game and so like i've already said it's nothing special and with 9 out of 10 people boxing or whatever it's not even worth bragging rights in my opinion ,but to each his own some might find it impressive so great more power to them i don't.
I'll always play this game 1 acct with shots and some days i lvl without it and i have lvled inside Heretics Catacomb with a lvl 32 Asassin that had lvl 37 skills and was using cheapest no grade armor a short bow and soul shot , and i mention that to proove the point that i'll hunt anywhere solo and self buffed if i know i can do it with bad gear like that and if i really wanted to i could hunt inside any catacomb like that granted it's 1 vs 1 mob like i was doing 2 on 1 is tricky but doable till your outta shot ,pots,and mana :)
I was merely pointing out that you can easily play 4 chars with 3 comps, even with having 2 attack. You mentioned something in an earlier post that implied ppl are lazy and just let a program do it.
I've dualboxed for so long on my SH/SE combo that I had to step it up or I would get bored. There has to be a challenge for me. I don't play this game for the pvp content. I play it coz its fun.
Right now I play the BD/WC/Bishop and Gladi to lvl up my buffers subs. If someone is around and wants to party that is cool. If not, I'll party with myself. I never sit idle in town waiting for ppl to party with.
because i find it ever-so-hard to believe that the first character you make in ANY game is either going to be fun or adequate.
Llothlian was my first character, created in April 04 during Open Beta. Llothlian has always been and will always be my favourite character of any MMO. I have one other real alt character, who is a 57 BH name GirlyDorf. GirlyDorf is great fun, but nothing compared to by BD.
When I played SWG, my first character (TK) was my favourite. When I played RO (Merchant) my first character was my favourite. When I played WoW my first character (human Mage) was my favourite. See where this is going?
Admitedly, Llothlian is only level 72, but I have not played for over 2 years, and I took a 1 year break before then. He has full A grade. He had Avadon heavy in C1 (when it was first introduced - or was that C2? Pretty sure C1).
I also have a very full life - no wife or kids, but other commitments just as time consuming. This does not mean I am a botter, nor does it mean anything else. It simply means I enjoy my BD greatly. A first character quite often is the best choice, as it is the one the player will most likely become attached to.
