How about they insta-ban them? I mean I reported M03CD0470 like 30 hours ago and I still get pms from him. OK they dont ban the bots, fine, at least the spammers should be insta-banned
wouldnt a mass ban of all bots hurt nc soft more than it would help them?
1.big money loss
2.less players = less competition = bored players -> will cause more people leaving -> will cause server dead = if you ask me its a vicious cirlce.
3.no noticable advertising anywhere in US/EU that could make L2 attractive to new people. (atleast in germany lineage2 is like non existent)
sure you can just complain about it but thats how it is and how it ever was.
the people that i know of that quited L2 was due "the grind was to hard" or crap like that but it wasnt the bots causing them to quit. so please no one try to come up with that: "real players are so ****** about bots that they quit" argument.
sure ppl get ****** by bots or those advertisements but thats not a reasonable reason to quit and i dont know anyone that has been quitting for such a p*ssy reason.

No mate, most of your post is total BS. I always find it funny everytime someone says "Oh no mass Ban, they will lose money". But in real every time they do a mass ban over 90% (just a guess) buy new accounts and start over. So where do they lose money? If you haven't been around durning a mass ban (if it ever happens again) go check out Dwarf land the very next day and you'll see what I mean. :p
IMO the HGM's need to figure out a way to cut through some of that "red tape" that slowes down how long it takes for them to ban someone. Or have two or more GM's that do nothing but explore the land looking for thoes special parties.

Anyone that thinks this game Needs bots for this game 2 make it (bet it's the same people that ebay in the first place) should be BAN in IMHO.
Last time they IP banned (it has been a few months), it took the bots exactly 2 weeks to repopulate the lower catas and a month to get in the 60+ ones.
Those were good times because the ban happened at the reward week time, so the new bots couldn't sign up for a week. They were all in forgotten temple lol.
It was also a good two weeks for making tons of money selling green seal stones (I made over 200 mil selling 5:1 :)). I am saving all my green seal stones now for the next ip ban. Hopefully it will come soon.
Oh on a side note and a fun thing, when bots got IP banned there was someone in Giran cussing out GM's and talking about their mothers in shout. It was hillarious!

We do ban these folks as quickly as possible, but it will never be instantaneous. It's gotten better, believe it or not. :)

Something has changed. I went my first 1.5 months on this account and hardly ever got an adena sales message. I *might* have gotten 1 or 2 during that entire time.
Over the past week, I find that I typically receive 20 to 40 spams PER DAY.
So, to underscore the point: something has changed recently. I am getting nonstop private messages during my entire time online. I don't know if this is just some delay until they get my character on their "mailing list" or what.
Also - I'm on Bartz, where there was no merger (sadly), so nothing has changed in terms of server population. There is simply a huge spike is PM spams for adena sales.
I would really appreciate it if you folks would look into this.
We do ban these folks as quickly as possible, but it will never be instantaneous. It's gotten better, believe it or not. :)
YAY better is good. now appoint some Bot Police I would like 2 be the first 2 sign up :D

Would a "bot police" system be subject to abuse? Yes.
Would it take some time to gradually [censored] out who is legitimately policing bots and who is using their power for personal/politcal reasons? Yes.
Would every single person here prefer dealing with those problems over receiving adena spam and seeing cheaters and botters everywhere?

i never said bots were necessary but in point 2. is stated that "REAL players" that even if they bot - they do pvp and siege and do everything that legits do also - that if they were removed (since there are so many of them) could endanger the servers population.

I don't know how this thread went from a simple "Hey, the adena spammers are back. Please look into it." thread to an all-out discussion about bots (a totally different thing), but that put the nail in the coffin of what would otherwise have been a perfectly acceptable thread.
