OK here we go.. this is the dumbest response i've heard in a LONG time.
This flame is directed to the management (the real management).
In the beginning of this week my friend got one of his accs banned for account sharing. Problem is only the original owner of the account is dead since 2 years back and was a good real life friend of this person.
He decided to keep the account active once this happened but never log the char of the passed away friend.
For 2 years he paid for this account and had created several new toons on it. He used the same credit card for both his main and this secondary account.
Explaining to the support that it was a close friend and answering to all their very personal questions about this dead person. Home street address, phone, name all that stuff (which were all correctly answered !).
THIS IS THE FINAL ANSWER HE GETS:

Also, what kind of message does this give to other players.
It's ok to bot and what not, but taking over an account from an old friend gets you banned.

Where did I say they aren't? We're talking about account sharing of an account that doesn't belong to the person. Unless, of course, it was left to him in the dead persons will.
I've yet to see anyone i know get banned for botting after 3 years here.

From what I understand (and I could be wrong) NCSoft doesn't care about account sharing unless there is a dispute as to the ownership of the account. There is a possibility that someone else claimed ownership of the account.
I have a fundamental dislike of account sharing for this reason. [censored] happens and then people want NCSoft to fix it. Your friend knew (or **** well should've known) that the shared account was in jeopardy from the very beginning. He took a chance making new toons on it and lost. He should've also used a different method of payment for his other account. That's just common sense.
There is no dispute. They were 2 friends playing l2.. one passed away. how could there possibly be any dispute?
Did he share his account with anyone else?
Who knows? Sharing your account imperils that account. Linking it to other accounts with the same credit card imperils all of the linked accounts. It's a good lesson to learn.

I ve gotten even more absurd answeres from NCsoft. I could post about lots of dramas and stuff but some friends will be mad and sad on me. I could also post how 6 different GMs interped 1 rule of EULA by 6 different ways. I can also post how a GM says he brakes his own EULA and so on and so on. Oh also I got some ... cant be called proves but presumes of GMs playing at one alliance and banning ppl from another for ... hmm stupid thinks. But I ll keep em only for myself. But still Teon and Frantz wins for the way they are unbanning their bot trains. Now I do want to complain about it this unbanning.

Bans are done by more than one GM, to prevent the thing u mentioned. Don't listen to all the rumors maya, most of them arent true.
