Well here are my severely disappointing but mathematically significant results for a large augment-fest. Using 85 Level 76 Regular Lifestones:
50 resulted in "yellow" (low) augments (approx 58.8%)
27 resulted in "blue" (medium) augments (approx 31.76%)
8 resulted in "Glowy-Swirly-Purple-Get-Your-Hopes-Up-Cruelty" (Skill) augments (approx 9.4%)
So rounding off those numbers <most likely> ends up with 60% sucky (low) augment, 30% sucky but blue (mid) augment, and 10% Skill augment (which in my case, were sucky).
Since I just blew a ton of money and lifestones, let me vent what skills I got. I augmented an Arcana Mace and wanted any offensive or nuke type skill for a Warlock main. Here's what I got:
ACTIVE:Decrease Song/Dance mp cost (1min buff, 5 min re-use)
CHANCE: Increase max mp when taking damage.
ACTIVE: Self buff, increase crit rate (Physical)
PASSIVE: Increase crit rate. (Physical)
CHANCE: Cast paralyze on magic attack (went off about 1/30 nukes and didn't land on npc)
CHANCE: Stun on crit attack.
CHANCE: Decrease enemy attack speed on magic attack.
ACTIVE: Self buff, decrease song/dance re-use time. (1min buff, 5 min re-use)
Cause we all know the sws and bd's wish they could dance the same dances again faster at least once every 5 minutes.
Yeah, but it doesn't do any good on an Arcana Mace for a Warlock. =/
That sucks, Aux. Good infos for the rest of us tho. XD
I strongly believe NCsoft put lifestones in the game just to soak up all that money being generated by bots. It's like the biggest money sink ever and it seems to be more addicting that OEing.
I spent about 30mil + buying like 5 LLS's from a guy when I got my AS, after the first 4, I was like wth, then I just keeped my last one with was: chance regen CP when you are atked.
My skill window calls it ritual, and it regens 473 CP, its ruffly a 7% chance.
Seriously tho NCsoft needs to change the way Augments work so its not so random. And increase the proc rate of chance type augments.
The only use I've found for augmenting is my weapon can't be dropped, which is a moot point because my main has 1 PK and she got that at lvl 10. My main is 61. I've used probably 10-15 LSs and not one gave me anything even remotely useful.

I stopped when I got a glow and lvl 9 hold on my SOM. It hasn't failed yet in PVE or PVP. Of course I dont do alot but when that mele guy sneaks up on ya and get held, it's funny to read the chat window. Will probalby never get rid of that weapon.

Sry to say that aug ... it lands very rare in pvp on buffed lvl76+ peeps, (have it too on my SoM+4). but in PvE it can be usefull if u get more than one mob on u (or when running to a spot and don't have time to kill/waste mp).
had very much use of that when i did my sub-quest and run to the RB in Toi.
But as u said its really funny when u root someone and then starting to nuke the hell out of them...and they just ....WTF!!!!
Got reflect damage (passive) on my arcana .. not that useful on a nuker...so thats gonna go when i get more adena to buy new ls
I got shadow flare augment on my SoM, kinda nice for my bishop sub. Before that I used perhaps about 100 life stones and I had way more than 10 active or passive skill augments, though none were useful to me until I got the nuke augment :)
Now I've used 23 lvl 76 lifestones on my Arcana Mace and haven't got anything even remotely useful yet :/
Guess I've been pretty lucky. Used about 30 stones
som - aura flare (lame aoe)
som - battle roar lvl 9
am - prominence lvl 10
drac bow - chance counter stun (doesn't land enough)
and like 5 more purples that sucked
am - might lvl 9 passive
as - increase heal
som - chance sleep on magic attack
am - renewal
am - guiadance lvl 9 (would have been awesome to use on a sub to level to a grade :)
i have used prolly 20 lvl 76 over 2 years, i currently have chance on physical attack: skill doom, momentarily blocks all your enemys physical and magical skills. goes off about 1/30, being a tyrant it LANDS one out of 3 mobs i would say. pvp, once in oly, a few times otherwise...

I've probably only used about 50 LS sinse they were released and I've gotten 1 acctive skill (hurricane lvl 3) on my AOBA +8... which did crap damage on a my dwarf and took a lifetime to cast.
Other than that I have never gotten anything useful.. across all my toons I always get the smae basic thing
+0.01 MP regen
+0.01 HP regen
+6.5 HP
+4 M.Def
its like I am in a time loop and every time I use a LS it starts over :(
i spent so much adena on augments for my arcana mace it makes me sad :( My dagger though on my sub I tried it once and got a cool weight decrease augment that i still have, it's nice being able to carry like 500 cp pots lol.
I got passive clarity for all skills on a blunt on the 1st try. It will be good for my sub when I get it up (paladin) and I might use it on my EE sub to, but there is no accumen on a Bassalt Hammer :(
all my other augments on my other weapons has been useless.
I did another 9 76 lifestones on my +10 BO last night. The first 8 were the usual +0.1 mp regen, +47 HP, etc. The 9th (which I kept) was +17 crit, +1 accuracy, and +something-or-other mdef. Out of the 9, I didn't get a single passive or active skill. I'm not sure why I keep doing this. I wonder how much I've spent on lifestones...
I got Active Mana Gain Selfbuff (reuse 5min, lasts 2min) after 5 LS 76 on my AM. First one gave me Battle Roar lvl 10 active, stacked with BtB but only gave + healed like 160 HP
doh! you did the same thing i did... or didn't realize what i did until after you took it off. Battle Roar only gave like 160 hp with btb yes... but what you and I didn't look at. It heals your full base hp then gives 160 hp more. So its a 4.5k heal :(

I got a passive skill "Increases critical dmg when being hit" but since I'm an EE.. it was utterly useless for me.
Another try gave me "Has a chance of casting poison upon enemy when casting offensive magic". Soo.. not the best, but owell, the new Gracia and mage mode might be even useful in some situations.
I've used around 30 LS, mids and regular and i got the purple augment 3 times.
1. Active: Hydro Blust. Just casted a nuke at the blacksmith and took it off, no use at BD, even with mystic and con up crap dmg and cast.
2. Active: reduces p.atk of ur enemy during pvp bla bla a.k.a. power break which I already have :p
3. Passive: Guidance lvl 10 which gave me 2+ accuracy which I didn't find so cool.
Also tried 2 High LS 70, one because the guy was selling it for 2,5m instead of 25 and the other because I was mad getting crappy augments and thought that this would gave something good. Both ended up giving me Max MP+, mp regen +, hp regen +...
Im gonna try again when I have a few LS and hope I get something better..
Does anyone have any statistics for Mid Grade stones? I doubt anyone has enough, but it would be useful to determine if mid grade stones break the apparent 10% chance of a skill augment for regular life stones...
They don't, they just give the glow if you get a skill augment. Not that I have any real statistics, but I've been using about as many mid stones as normal stones and in fact haven't gotten any skill augments with mid stones ><
The only difference I have seen with mid and regular ia the glow. It's a faint glow but a glow. As far as chances of getting something good I don't think there is a difference. No I can't afford to do an in depth test but I have used enough LS to be confident there is no noticable difference. Considering the difference in price I would only use mid lvl stones if the glow is important to you.
So far, used like 7 stones farmed by myself. Got 3 +crit augments on my EE's magic swords. Both mid stones gave slightly higher +crit than a regular one. Finally settled on an "Aura Flare" (non-aoe non-elemental full power lvl70 nuke with range 900 and fixed 6s(?) reuse time) on my SoM, helped me to do some quests.
After CT2 is released i think that normal LS will cost ALOT more than mid, since u can't aug jewelry with mid, and u gonna need 5 normal to aug one jewelry.
If its like every chronicle so far has been, about new things, i think that the price on normal LS will skyrocket to maybe 5x or more in price, since demand will be huge for them.
PS .. therefore i have already bought my 25 LS-70 to be prepared .... stay tuned ..will post my augs after the launch.
trhe diff betwin mid and normal LS is that mid give you more +HP,+Cp + crit etc ....
and also Top grade can give you +1 base stat , my clan member get +1 CON on his arcana mace from Top 70
The problem is that you can not "trade" augment items.
A mage getting an active: decrease song/dance mp cost augment is just totally ******ed. And by not allowing people to trade these augment weapons, it proves the dev teams are equally ******ed as well.
Yes, it is a good thing. Getting an uber augmentation like WM for a nuker SHOULD be special and rare. If you could trade them, everybody with enough money would have exactly the most perfect augmentation and it would become basically a requirement to have them. As it is, you need to make your own augmentations, so a lot of luck is involved. People with enough money still have better chances, but since you have do it yourself and cannot buy from somebody who got an unwanted augmentation, it is somewhat rare to have the right augmentation in the right hands.

The theory is good but the reality is - only those who run bot trains can afford these LS therefore cheaters have even greater advantages over honest non-botting players in both pve and pvp and olympia.
That does not apply to ppl who buy lots of adenas...does it?
It only affects legit ppl...I wish I could transfer a C-grade augmented dagger I have to one of my toons...that way the augment would not be useless to my A-grade archer...
@buyers have enough adenas to spend on augmenting over and over again till they get "lucky" and get what they want...

you're over-reacting.
But even if that was true. the good augments are still rare, right? Doesn't this just mean that everyone who bots can afford them and you can't?
It's not not hard making money without buying them
a second account to sit in town and sell/buy is all you need.
And to the inevitable "I only have 1 account" argument, I'm sorry, but if you expect to use all your time playing and still make money, this game is not for you.

I use to make the same arguement and only have one account. The system had worked well for a while until hellbound went live and will only get worse. The economy is dieing wether you admit to it or now. THe only things selling are high lvl stuff and everyone already has most of it. A graders trying to S grade and S graders selling to afford S80. Only problem is everything is so expensive it's creating inflation on everything. If you thought ebaying was bad before LOL just wait tell after CT2 is out for a bit. I hope im wrong but it's not looking good.
Ok I augmented all my jewelry today using lvl 52 and 55 stones. along siwith the usual + on MP and M.atk I got.
def against dark magic added +4
Def against sleep
Def against poison
When I get home I will total up all the bonuses I got for the hole set of jewelry. I did notice a difference in the damage in FOD and at lvl 72 hunting greens solo I got 5% in one buff round.
As 76 lifestones mysteriously decreased drastically in price, I decided to give augmenting my Arcana Mace another go. I bought 47 lifestones and used 33 of them. Here are my results (percentages approximate):
18 Yellow (54.5%) 11 Blue (33.3%), 4 Skill (12%)
Adding to my original numbers with the 85 lifestone attempt, we have a total of 118 Level 76 Lifestones tested and approximate percentages of:
68 Yellow (57.6%) 38 Blue (32.2%) 12 Skill (10.1%)
And now for the good news... My skills were:
PASSIVE: Increase Patk
CHANCE: Stun target hitting you (went off every let's say 8-10 seconds in arena against low levels hitting me, it *seemed* pretty decent, but they were low levels after all.
ACTIVE: Inflict a water attack!!! BUT NO!! It was AOE, 15 second re-use and power 55. I need single target!!
ACTIVE: INFLICT A WATER ATTACK!!!!! Yes, my very next skill augment was a single target water nuke, power 110, Re-use 5 seconds. Dreams really do come true!!
For the record, I went 23 augments without a skill augment in this second batch. Then I got a skill, then 2 sucky augments, then skill, then 2, then skill, then 2, then skill. Good old statistics, eh?
doh! you did the same thing i did... or didn't realize what i did until after you took it off. Battle Roar only gave like 160 hp with btb yes... but what you and I didn't look at. It heals your full base hp then gives 160 hp more. So its a 4.5k heal :(
I got battle roar too. I tested it by getting my hp to about 200 then cast battle roar, it only healed about the same amount of hp it gives, around 160 :/ Would be quite nice if it healed you up full lol, but I still find it useful in healing up a little to use the HE version of Body to Mind.
Ahh... I have had some good luck augmenting. I recently augmented a +4 Tateossian earring and got the following:
Equip skill: Increase Mental Abnormal Patk.
When I look at the skill in my passive skill list, it says "Refine Skill: Mental Attack Resistance" level 1.
Whether it's resist or attack I'm sure keeping it, but what exactly qualifies as a mental attack??
As a Warlock, I specifically refer to Warrior bane (Removes buffs from target) and Arcane Disruption (debuff lowering casting speed). Are these abnormal mental attacks? Or is it only fear/silence/sleep?

What he said. Anyone? I wonder if petitioning would get me an answer, since there's conflicting info within the game...
After 3 years... this is still the only post I google-found about the Increase Mental Abnormal Patk passive augment.
We got this augment today and some clarification would be nice. So my apologies for reviving an ancient thread, but it seems pointless to make future searches for this same info more tedious than it needs to be.
