This would be great as an account service, but doesn't really qualify as an event. I mean, a lot of people couldn't participate or didn't want to participate in it. It wasn't a fun event either.
NCsoft has totally dropped the ball on events, this one was kind of stupid, as I said, it should have simply been an account service.
The gatekeeper event also sucks, I hate it. Let me say that again, I HATE YOU GATEKEEPER EVENT. Please do something new, do an event I can actually participate in physically. Passing off services such as teleporting and subclass/main changing is not an event, they are game services.
I want a real event and you guys haven't delivered one for atleast six months. We now get patchs more often than we get good events.
This is not the service I wanted. I want to have my characters total class changed from Mystic Muse/Warcrier to Soul Hound/Berserker. Also I need to have my gear changed ot reflect the fact that soul hounds use rapiers and light armor and not robes and an arcana mace with a water element.
Too short but we made it barely with the help of friends :)

well first, this was supposedly a one-time event and there were a lot of people who couldn't participate because their sub wasn't 75+
second I think it's a paid service in Korea :) and the additional income wouldn't hurt. I would have paid if it started as a paid service and was a reasonable price :p

This poll could have been worded better...out of 4 questions, NONE applied to me at all. I have exactly zero characters who could have 'participated' in this event. (My Highest is an OL, who can't exchange classes!)
I'm going to strongly agree with the general concensus..this was a service not an event. 'Gatekeepers' at the release of a new patch isn't an 'event' either.
Right now, walking around the map and finding a missed adena drop is more of an 'event' than anything we have gotten for at least half a year, closing in on a full year now.
And quite truthfully, it's been years now since there has been a update that hasn't screwed me over more than helped me. Nothing like watching all my hard work hunting down rare recipes or crafting hard to find items only to see them plopped mindlessly into the shops while the drops and spoil tables rot from neglect. The new 'speed leveling' system is more of a hindrance to me than help. And making things 'cheaper' just by stripping them of a big % of their crystal value doesn't help nearly as much as making crafting easier than buying would.
I can't help but feel like I'm repeatedly getting drenched by a bucket of ice cold fail with every update.
I agree somewhat, was sorta hard to answer questions in this poll Alyra since I'm a WS and couldn't participate to begin with (not that I woulda changed :p).
Also agree with what's been said by alot of ppl, we're used to true events where our participation is rewarded by items/adena, and for the most part they are fun. Events like 'Choose Your Destiny' isnt gonna generate a huge amount of excitement other than from a select few that wanted this service for whatever reason.
I think everyone is ready for another event where we gather tons of a certain item in the hopes of winning a silly hat! :)

But at the same time, people have paid $15 to change their gender, and some people have continued to pay $30 to change their name even after they were given the option to change their name upon server merge..... I even know a few who have paid $30 to change their name after transferring to a new server and already changing their name to begin with.
Don't underestimate what people will pay for, haha.

its not all about making a FoTM main, my main is an SH, i cant stand playing it, infact havnt lvled it sience c4, my 2nd sub is an SK and i love it, I would have loved to change but I couldnt make it in time. Also i have a buddy thats a proph, and after seeing his class destryoed for years i think he should be able to change, sadly he didnt get his warlock to 75 in time :/

You should choose your class carefully. I know some classes get nerfed but there is a reason to it and if you picked that class because it once was uber, too bad for you.
When I choose a class, my choice is based on the potential of the class, not the power of the skills (I don't know if I'm clear enough :cool: ).
As you point out my lvl AND class that both made me uneligible, I can tell you I'll never switch classes. First of all because I don't want to subclass. I got 14 characters on Aria, 8 of them have a particular purpose for festivals/epics, and among the 6 others, WS and WC will be raised as high as I can (but it'll take time as I don't use SS/Sps/BSps for xp and I lvl up with wolf and hatchling). And I deleted 6 or 7 characters on Lionna. I also got 7 chars between lvl 20 and 53 on Franz and some 'lost' others on other servers.
Oh yea I clearly picked my SK back then because it was oh so overpowered in C3. I can't tell you how many people rolled one back then because they were so uber (/sarcasm)
I did enjoy playing my SK a lot, but in the end the demand in my clan and my personal preference made me play my TH more and so I ended up playing my Adv nearly exclusively.
So why should I be forced to have my SK as a mainclass when I don't play it anymore?
I didn't care much when there were no benefits from having a specific main except oly, but after the introduction of subclass skills of course I wanted to benefit from them on the class I play and enjoy most.
But anyway, cut it. Arguing with you is pointless because the sheer amount of chars you appartently have shows me that we will never ever agree on this point. (note. you can spend your time on whatever you want, you are free to lvl two hundred and fifty six lvl 20 chars and do /socialdance on them all day if you want to do that. That's entriely your choice. I just say that our mindsets are too different to agree here)

no one forcing anyone 2 play a class. my first main was a SH. I love the class till I got 2 the point were my Down time was more then my uptime. later it got fix but 2 late I rerolled an EE. but at 60+ she was hard to level without VR or find a good undead only area.
Later they fix that but 2 late I rerolled a SE. I'm not even going go there why I quit that. so next reroll was a WC. Love this class even after the nerfs I still love this class.
The Hunting at Witches (BOTches) came.
Could not get a room for crap so I needed something I can level fast and be good at training them so I can have a room for my WC. So I made a PW love this class most fun I have ever had next 2 my WC so I end up making it my main.
Now I sub a Glad and I love Glad it's a much better DD in fact and can take on a lot but I won't use the Change class event. I pick PW and that's what I am and staying with it and level my WC on the side. after all with the new V system it's best to have 2 mains so one is always regening V. ;)

True, and there is a certain lesson to be learned in the consequences of one's choice.
However, it's not like people didn't earn their subclasses. It's not like they were 78, suddenly they didn't like their main class and decided that they could just change to anything of their liking without having to actually level it.
They earned all those lvls of that subclass. In some cases many people played it as their mains. I do agree with the idea of not allowing the subclass to lvl beyond a certain point as the main should be "the main".
But as long as people are not allowed to swap main and sub whenever they feel like it so they can compete on their sub in olympiad or some such thing, then I don't see any reason why they couldn't have an event or paid service that allows for the switch.
There should to be constraints but it seems acceptable.

Talking about careful choice of class, and then saying how you have 50 different characters is sort of stupid. if you have a character for each class, then it's no wonder you think the event is stupid, why would you change to a class you already have?
Its kind of different when you have an actual main character, a character you play, and like playing.
I didn't play every character at lv 70 to know what they are like, I picked one I liked the style of and leveled that, then i got a sub, and I chose a different class, and over the time I've leveled it, I've grown to like my sub better. Sadly it didn't make it to 75 yet, so i couldn't participate, but if this becomes a paid service, I'll definitely be changing. unless they put a ridiculous price tag or insane limitations on it.
I don't care much about the 80-85 level range, I'm not close on either class.
Why would I want 2 chars? My char is moep and no other. I don't have alts and most importantly I don't want alts. I want one char and i want to play that one exclusively.
That's my choice in this game.
And about my last part. Guess I'll have to say it a bit more bluntly:
Your highest char that you mention is 59. Assuming that is the highest char you own you don't have the slightest hint of how hard the grind in this game actually gets once you are high lvl. Lvl 70-75 would make you whimper, at lvls 76-78 you'd cry and at lvl 79+ you'd cower under your desk.
A lvl 75+ char including its reputation and the memories attached to it is nothing that a legit player would just throw away by rerolling another class.
So yea, come back and vote once you've been in this situation and then I might value your opinion. Until then tell yourself whatever you want^^

So when your glad hits 80 100.00% your going to do what? OE skills? You can no longer progress, so go play a alt? Play your main even though you don't enjoy it as much as the sub? Your paying for the game shouldn't you enjoy it to its full potential?

I think a paid service is ok rather than an event, but have the price not be huge if you only allow it one time! If you allow it more than once than set the price higher to deter people from doing it over and over or have a low price with a long reuse. Eventually whoever they pick as their main should hit 81 so then they would not longer be able to change to their subs anymore if those became FOTM toons.
I for one changed two of my accounts one from SD to GH and one from MS to Cardinal. But that was based on the fact that I play Cardinal all the time and MS are not a very favored archer for parties or raids. My SD I changed to GH even though the SD is almost 80 because the SD didn't have any skills at this time for level 81+ that were anything that other classes don't get, not to mention the BD is the last person they gonna give those rare drop books too :) , my GH only 76 but at least at 81 there are some great skills for it. This could change though in future updates so I think it should be a paid service with the option for even those that have changed to be able to change back if they have not leveled to 81 on that main class.
I highly doubt you deserted a high lvl char (78+) with high lvl subclass (75+) for the bliss of lvling several lol lvl toons on 5 different servers. Or am I wrong there?

Everybody is free to play this game whichever way pleases him most as long as he doesn't affect other players negatively. So for pete's sake don't dictate YOUR opinion on others. You don't want a sub? FINE! Then don't lvl one if you should ever get to 75. That's your free choice! But don't limit other players that DO want a sub.
You don't want to switch your main? FINE! Then don't do it. But don't limit other players in their free decision to play the class they like most with its full potential (means 81+ and subclass skills).

To me this event was a no-brainer when I considered I would not be able to partake in it anyway.
I am like many silly to think an event should be available to the masses not the "elite" if you get my meaning.
Frankly though I see that a service or free event (prefered) might have a vote of continuance from my view I still believe that your main class is the class you started with before you subbed. Even more so as the service does not allow all characters to change since the game restrains this by design.

Please give us another pumkin event this Nov. we all could use a good event and the lvl 11&12 SA crystals need a price change. 50m for a SA crystal is retarted when the Bloody Orchid only costed me 40m. Thank god for augments.

Ok, my 2 cents.
It seems to me that this wasn't really an event, it was more of a "lets try this and see how it's excepted".
I think this should be an available "paid" service, but with a restriction. You can only do it once! period! Why? For exactly the reason that someone has already mentioned in this thread, you can't do the FoTM thing that way.
Another person in this thread said "Choose your character with care". Well. that's easy to do after you have played this game for a while, but what about someone that's fairly new? With some characters you don't really find out how good they are (or bad) until you get to a fairly high level. What then? start all over again?
A friend of my made an SE, now it's true that he made that SE back when SEs were really really useful, he loved playing the SE. He had to stop for a while (military service) but when he came back he went right on loving to play the SE despite the "nerfs". He still does, but, he also found another class (his Sub, TY) that he enjoys even more. This works well for him, most of the time he has to "flip a coin" to decide which one to play. The thing is, he would like to try the Oly someday but he doesn't want to try it on his SE. He was one level short of being able to take advantage of this "event". He sure tried hard as hell to get there though!
Oh! To the person that said subclass system shoudn't exist. The main advantage of this system is to allow a player to try other classes, with them starting at a decent level, to see what else they may like in this game. I don't know how many sub's my friend tried before he finally settled into the one he has now. But if you want to start all of your new characters at level 1 and grind them up, more power to you dude! There's not a thing wrong with that. Perhaps a lot of other people would rather not do it that way though, so it's nice that there are options available for both of you. You're happy doing it your way, they're happy doing their way....Everybody Happy!
So make it a paid service with that restriction, and let's move on.

You do realize that to switch to a "FOTM class" you still need to lvl it as subclass before? If they make a restriction it should be like 3-6 months, not more. Anyway all this has only a sense if they make the subclass skill event a paid service too.
(btw pretty funny to talk about FOTM as a guy that stopped to play SpS at 67 cause of sleep nerf and switched to a Warlock/Necro :p)
well... actually there's no difference at all. subclass skills are not so much uber, so don't worry. people who doesn't like their mains just don't play it, concerning on the subs. who really hate their class just stops to play it and reroll something is better as they think. actually you're didn't really played l2 if you never regret your class selection and never wanted to reroll/class change. i know, there are people who doesn't like their next toon/sub. people's nature is to make mistakes. also there's a small group of people who enjoy their first class... they have luck or they still can't understand how great is their mistake.
I really think this should be a paid service. I couldnt participate in the event because I made a new account to lvl my Prophet with because... well i got tired of her. I've re-rolled 4 times now, trying to find my nitch, and tho ive never gotten to sub i have gotten to 7x before. Sometimes alts just become more fun than a main, and i can understand wanting the change main for sub more than re-rolling. And being that i have re-rolled several times i know how fun finding a new class can be. I think it should be a service you can use more than once, every 3 months or so sounds great. Because what if u use it once, get a new sub and like it more, and want to use it again but you cant? Or you use it and wish you hadnt, but cant go back?
make it a aid service. who want to change main can make request, some who doesnt want it, just inorge it. if someone want to switch his sub to main, he would willing pay for it with a reasonable price.
