Well im currently level 29 and loving the gracia exp boost quests/vitality and well I turned soul cry on and... my mana regen is higher than the mana consumption. So this is at level 29 with lvl 3 soul cry I was just wondering how the mana drain is for the higher levels?

I'll check this later tonight on my OL and see what the MP is. I think my SC is only L8, but I'll post what the MP cost on it is.
Ok, checked this one. L8 Soul Cry uses 6mp per tick.
Wearing Tallum heavy, the drain is very slow. Almost unnoticable when just running aimlessly around town. I think it may now be possible to leave it on all the time and hardly notice it's on even at high levels.
The library says SC used to use 11mp per tick, but my hazy memory thought it was 13 per tick. Either way, I feel that the mp drain on the old SC was far faster than what it's listed amount was.
I would defiantely level it up now, as you can handle the MP use much better.
Soul Guard L6 though, takes 11mp per tick. I forgot to check how fast it drained, so maybe later I'll double check that.
Using soul cry at top level (10) consumes only 1-1.5 MP point per tick. That is nothing. I guess that when you overenchant the skill for cost, your MP regen. rate will probably turn posistive. This is an awsome boost for orc mages.
At higher levels you regen MP faster with the passive updates. so even at lvl 10 you regen the MP enough to leave it on but when you start using skills it goes fast and regens slow. bust 2 limit your skills to drain only and only when you need the hp. ;)
hmmmm.....I wonder if I turn it on after buffing and leave it on the whole time. As long as I don't use any skills, do you think I'll have enough mp to rebuff?

yes you will if you have all the combo buffs. if your lower then that then i don't know.
I tried it yesterday. Great change ! :)
I had it removed from my hotbars since i passed B grade.
It's now back and do great job with my dagger. Wearing a low grade mp regen talisman and i can help my party by meleeing when my seals are not so needed and i just have to buff VoP ^_^

(soul guard T.T....)
Yeah, I can DD a bit now with Soul Cry running pretty much non stop. I have a nice 2 handed sword with focus I pull out when the party just needs damage. :)
Yeah Soul Guard is something like 14 mp a tick now, but it is a big boost, tanks hate me when I turn it on and have crazy PDef in robes. Just can't keep mobs on me :( but oh well, it is still very useful to save yourself when you get a little too much on you.
In my DC robes, I loose about 1 mp every 3 ticks or so right now.
Same here. But when I wear my NM light (no -MEN stat) and stand (not walking or running) my MP doesn't go down at all (I do have some MP regen bonus from augmented jewels). My next move will be to skill enchant Mana Regeneration and see when MP starts moving up.
