Shillen Elder/Shillen Saint in Gracia

Dark Elf Classes Started Last reply 22 posts
Well since they completely revamped the SE/Shillen Saint class in Gracia, what are your thoughts on the changes?

My thoughts include, WOW. I can solo in the toughest solo spots in game with ease on my Saint. Just pop an acumen potion and I am tearing thru anything I want in my nuker transformation.

I have yet to try bless the blood. What are your thoughts on this and the helping of a SE ability to heal again?
Can someone provide some comments on hunting solo? I have a level 73 SE that I use primarily as a buffer that I'm thinking now about playing solo. Specifically, looking for suggestions on armor / weapon setup and hunting style. I was not able to play the PTS so don't know anything about the new skill set.
Bless the Blood is pretty handy. I could see it having a very good use in Raid bosses on the tank. I was hunting in FoD last night on my HE with my SE following me. BtBlood saved my butt and made them big pulls more managable. A couple times by the time the battle was over, I was near full HP.

Each time you get hit, there is a chance to give you a heal. The buff only lasts 15-20 seconds. My SE is lvl 70 and I was being healed for about 450 HP's and I'd probably get about 4-5 of those until the buff ran out.

Very useful i'd say.
I haven't tested on my SE yet, but it's pretty much the same with my bishop sub anyways. DC robes, +3 SoM acu and get killing. You should be able to two shot pretty much all mobs in FoD since you also get Holy Weapon buff in your transformed state, I can two shot all the vampires that spawn during the day time easily with my bishop who has lower INT than your SE. Just play it as a nuker without b2m and no recharges.
I finally tested out bless the blood in a party yesterday. It worked really well and seems to work best with multiple mobs on a tank. Even with Dance of Concentration I cannot keep it on a target though. I use DC robes and have +4wit and an Arcana Mace w/acumen. There is about 2-3 seconds where the tank didnt have Bless the blood in between casts.
It does help an SE heal better but still a Bishop or EE can do a far better job.
Well SE after Gracia part 1 can at last solo xp as a nuker!
I think NCSoft thought of us and saw that we were the most wronging class ingame.
Lastly happy to xp my Saint with a dc set and som +5 acumen as a pure nuker.

If that would be the case, SE would not be clasified as "healer" class and BP/EE would not get the same skills... they just solve problems with the easy way

PS: if SEs wanted to play as a nuker and solo they would play a nuker from the start.
nevermind

Yeah even with all the changes a SE is good now but I really miss teh days of being a healer. I am considering subbing a bishop next to get back into being a healer.
The nuking is AWESOME for the SE's. Finally something for them to solo in case they don't find groups. They're pretty much a nuker, although that makes it a little more expensive, since ideally you'd want a good mage weapon (not staying with a Mysterious Sword up to A grade like I have done :) ), and perhaps nukers robes. Or you could just try and nuke with your usual healer setup, I just would think it'd be better to at least have a better weapon. That's why I don't nuke that much with my SE...

As for bless the blood... It's REALLY useful in AoE parties. I've tested it recently and it really makes a difference if you cast on the puller as he approaches the AoE point. As far as I could notice, it didn't pull aggro, but I could be wrong. Using it anywhere else (except for emergencies like your tank's being attacked by 3, 4 mobs at the same time) is really useless though.
I've never had Bless the Blood pull agro onto my SE.

Big pole pulls I watch for the puller approaching, hit Bless the Blood and then delay a greater heal for when he's started hitting.

It's as if old school Vampiric were back in the game.
Yeah, I didn't get aggro with Bless the Blood either, but since I was focusing on healing and buffing and all that, I didn't get to see if it was because the skill doesn't aggro or if my very capable tank (cause he is very capable!) was hating them before they aggroed me.

But I guess then the skill doesn't aggro. Which is good :)

PS: By the way, Tavi, that's exactly how I was doing on my SE with bless the blood. Hit it, delay until the tank had the aggro, then using the Greater Heal. It works VERY well... unless the mob uses soulshot, then our poor ticklish heals won't really do much.

Hi Val pls can u explain precisely skill Bless the blood??? If I understand it well this skill last max 25sec, if u cast it on some ppl this ppl will be healed automaticly or u as SE must heal him?? thx
Bless the Blood is a single-target buff that causes the recipient, who must be a party member, to be healed at a certain probability when hit. It works best when the target is being struck by more than one enemy at a time, as it might fire several times over its duration, making it mana-efficient.
bless the blood rocks.
i always level both my BD and SE at the same time (so i just say both are my mains :P) at 56 i pull a train on BD in apostate if its half room just need to pull bless the blood and no need to heal at all.
if its full room bless the blood + greater heal and can keep up.
and BD no pole masteries nor pole skills.

i am thinking to try solo but i need at least a common Bg item XD

BTW forgot to mention SE rocks at PvP now :).

Root > inquisitor > Divine punishment x4 = you won
As a side note regarding Inquisitor, the actual Inquisitor stance change skill is magic, so the transition is decently quick with buffs and a spiritshot, but the Switch Stance skill to revert to normal is an active skill, which is why it takes much longer to cancel Inquisitor than to enter it. Haste and other atk speed-increasing buffs definitely help if you want to change stances while under attack.

Root > inquisitor > Divine punishment x4 = you won

That is only if you can land root in pvp :p (Read the latest Remove prophet thread then you'll know what I'm taking about :))

Yeah my root never lands in PVP, its ++++ chance and I have an arcana mace.
++chance on most things is supposedly not a big deal unless it's extremely high. If the information I read was correct, +9 chance is something like +6% success probability.

Root is pretty decent when you have the gear for it and your target doesn't, but I think that hold resist armor sets are still too powerful. As someone pointed out in another thread, this game is weighted a bit too heavily towards offense, and I would like to see defensive and disabling skills become more useful again.
Where do you get the spellbook for Bless the Body. I have had no luck finding out where. Thank you!
Sry, I saw the other thread about where to find it, it is at the DE village from the grocer.
The nukes receive a 40% PvP damage reduction in Garcia Final, so don't count on being able to pvp for long. >_<
Being able to do damage alone is still a good thing thou.

You can always duo with a nuker with your SE. You will lvl asap and with not use so many bsps ;)
