I am not quite sure about where to post this, but I would like to openly and publicly give some feedback to the NCSoft developers concerning the new vitality system and common items.
This is reflecting my personal perception as well as a good part of my clan's. I had to wait to decide on this because on the PTS, I could not see what impact it would have on our clan life.
Now I have seen several days of it, and I must say I am both impressed and happy:
As a clan of casual players, who delight in social interaction, self-organized events, a rich forum life, in-and-out-of-game roleplay, screenshoting and the L2 lore, art and music, Undomiel has profited greatly from the changes.
- Motivation to play, and accordingly activity has gone high up
- People seem to experience more sense of reward for their playtime
- Even very active clan members have told me personally that though they are not getting much more % per day, they see their playing much more relaxed now, and less like a grind
- Many more alt chars have sprung to life, a great enrichment for events in a semi-sized clan, as now everyone can match more easily on all levels
- Common items have allowed for incredible freedom in fashion choices for all chars, wonderfully enriching roleplay character development
So far, I consider the Vitality system well balanced and do not think it would produce better effects if changed. To my mind, a casual player is someone playing once or twice a week, or just an hour every other day, and for those people this system is great.
If they added vitality and inquisitor stance in C1/C2 + strict antibot policy, L2 could have more active accounts than WOW.
It's the best update ever, but too late.

Orly? Friends of my who are Lv76+ and almost done with Subclass Quest are thinking about quitting L2 because playing an archer + UD mobs + decreased power = bad.
Gracia is a good update, alot of nice things for lower chars (w00t farm Kamaloka everyday on my own for EAD's and crystals) but changes on damage and area's which are important for 3rd Class (Varka) are like telling a kid after 10 years that he is now named Peter instead of Timmy.
They changed to much of the basics of the game (damage output, weaknesses on mobs) and made the game far more easier for certain classes (daggers (more power), gladi's (weaknessmobs on IoP = money ground), melee (Varka, Garden of Beasts)) compared to classes like archers, nukers (nukes are also range affected).
Gracia is as unbalanced like every other update they come up with so far.

I play archer myself and didn't notice any signifficant difference. On Varka too. Maybe time to L2P? Or just tell your BD/PP to root the mobs?

lol
It's not much of a nerf, in fact archers do MORE damage at full range now than before...
If somebody really quits because of this nerf, he just chose an archer class because it was ridiculously overpowered when fully buffed, and now archers are only greatly overpowered.
