Am I wasting my time trying to be one? I just started playing again and I wanted to be a DE with duals. Now from what Im seeing, or not seeing, this class is worthless.
it's a dd that can give the party a few buffs basically, so it's more of a dual class. It's mainly for damage and it dances every two minutes to give party buffs
Kitted out correctly with the right dyes and gear and they can crit a LOT with their duals which makes up for the lack of raw power. Mages will love partying with you.

However, if you are looking for a damage dealer that is going to kick [censored] and take names, then no, that is not what it does. It can do very decent damage. and I've seen, with their dances that they can mow through mobs.
But if you are looking for a pure damage dealer then no. What you COULD do is to be a blade dancer, get to 75 then get a subclass of Gladitaor. Or, just be a Gladiator to start with.

My dwarven bounty hunter does goes damage with my dragon grinders - but eventhough the dwarf can weild those fist weapons - it's not a tyrant.
Bladedance uses duals, so does a gladiator, so can a dwarf. The dwarf isn't a dwarven gladiator and the bladedancer is not a dark gladiator. It's a dancer that uses duals just like a dwarf is a spoiler/crafter that uses duals.

FAIL. Bladedancer has Dual Sword Mastery. Your dwarven doesnt. Thats the difference
Now in gracia u can easy solo up to lvl 62 and with a bd is even easiers since his dances stack with herbs and buffs so now solo is an option!
As for damage dealing cause of ur base high str and dex and assuming u can afford some decent gear u can delever some real high damage in mobs but cause of ur low hp (con factor) and cause u have no armor masteries after 40 + u aint got any realy damaging skills u cant expect that much!
BDs are always usefull to clans and pretty much all parties cause of their dances! So u can party ur way up!!!
every single class in this game benefits from a bd.
they are good dd's/tanks aswell.
im a 79 bd myself and i can tell u i do not regret going my class. extremely easy to solo, which i did a for a good portion of my lvls and once 74 you wont even need vr buff to keep your hp high while soloing.
In pvp we do very well especially since we are not really classified as "dd's" but as support class. look in my sig and watch the videos of some pvps and ull see what im talking about.
of course your gonna hear people talk about bd's like its their specialty and most likely they dont even play bd's themselves but if you want pure dd then maybe bd isnt for you. pick an archer/dagger/ or mage class for that and be another "i pwn u LOL" toon cus we dont have enough already

lol, don't know who that is but there was a BD that I knew who would just blaze through mobs. Now, some of it was dances but it's possible that he had some oop buffs.
To be honest it is a **** class. It's not the end all/be all of DD's but for a person who wants to be the possible tipping point for a party's success it is a great class.
However, for some reason I think the op is looking for a pure DD.
