Right.. where are you all? I want some guidance on how to play this character to its full potential. Level 41 and the minute and I'm solo-ing exactly the same way I level my dwarf - with a pole. Eventually I want to be of some use though so I need to get started in my support role.
Was with a group of people last night being second tank, survived a while but then our **** healers d/ced.. so didn't get much of a chance to play around.
With that said - if anyone wants a Paladin to join them in their epic adventures, keep an eye on my signature for my level and drop me a PM in game (purp).
Rift is a great place to learn the tanks role and I suppose you can find people interested for rift even at the lower lvls.
AOE is by far the fastest way to lvl, but only by getting in parties in dangerous places, will you be able to learn how to play your tank role. Hating at the right moment, in your case healing, using toggles whenever necessary, rooting etc are all non important for solo play, but very important for party tanking and RB tanking.
Quite possibly (mass) shackle. Can any other Paladin confirm if this works like root or anchor please? The description is rather vague. Just says "in a held state" with added "hate".
When you get to higher lvl you'll see more ppl wanting a pali, especially for undead areas and rb's. Mine does really well in the 56 kamaloka since the boss is undead. The aoe shield toggle helps there too when the minions choose you as a target. Extra heals never hurt either. My fav tank class.
