Common Items as Drops: Good Idea?

This is a rant, but I'll make it brief.

Why the *`%#!^#!!! are there common item drops?!!?? Isn't it bad enough that we have to go 56+ levels before we get a complete drop, only to have it turm out to be a pathetic common item? Geez, what were they thinking?

I don't know what the problem is. I kinda like common item drops. I don't think that sealed common items make much sense, but every thing else allows people that can't readily afford some items to be able to wear some "intermediate" armor to get by for awhile. Just my take on it.

I'm not against common items, I just don't want them as drops. Complete drops are too rare as it is....at least for me. I'd rather they make common items something that quest mobs drop or leave them as NPC shop items only. It would suck to be a struggling player, finally get a drop, yet it turn out to be something that can't be augmented, enchanted or otherwise enhanced. It doesn't help the struggling player, it actually hurts them...especially when they try to take that common item to market or crystallize it.
I can see a few benefits of the common items:

* Cheap starter sets for a-grade jewelry
* Cheap a-grade shields (I'm still using a +0 NM shield at level 77...it might as well be a common NM shield, as I don't get a set bonus with it anyway)
* Equipping my clan with cheap polearms (we like to pole in ImT on occasion, but only a few of us have poles..the rest single-mob target)
I'm using them for new players in the game and our clan, if they need a weapon or the such. Our clannies are putting some in the clan warehouse just for that use........

Oh yeah like struggling players can REALLY afford to augment and enchant their equipment! Lol
If you're a struggling player you take what you can, if you get enchant scrolls or life stones, you SELL them so you're not struggling for money anymore.
Please stop crying for other people, you're giving them a bad name.

If you're a struggling player you take what you can, if you get enchant scrolls or life stones, you SELL them so you're not struggling for money anymore.

And yet even a struggling player deserves to reap the benefits of their efforts. Even a struggling player wants the morale boost that comes from getting a complete drop. We all do. Getting a common item as a drop is akin to doing a raid boss and getting nothing but thread and XP. I don't know anyone, whether struggling or privileged, who are happy about that.

Again, I'm not saying that they should eliminate common items. They have their uses. Just eliminate them as drop items; give only regular items. We grind too long and too hard for such a paltry reward.
I love them. If nothing else you can simply crystalize them and use it to make some shots, sure it won't be much but hell, it will be more than you had before. Why complain about something your getting for free! You could always do what the bots do and just leave them lay on the ground if they cause you so much grief.

:p
Soooo.... what you're saying is that you want no drops at all rather than actually getting something useful like common items?

I mean really, it would be one thing if they completely took out full drops and replaced them w/ common item drops, but as far as I know, that's not the case.

I would love to get some A-grade common item drops. So far I haven't, unfortunately. I never OE anything, don't augment, etc. so a common item would be just as great as a full drop for me.

Why complain about something your getting for free!
:p

Not entirely free. We're paying for entertainment. Common item drops make me question my total entertainment value.

And no worries, I don't want to see our markets flooded with common items, so yes, I usually flush them.

:D :D :D.
honestly i think a lot of the new players don't even know the difference
i was lvl'ing an alt today with a few newbs in party and everytime a common item dropped they were just thrilled! :p If you're really a new player if you get a FREE drop that you can USE as a weapon you're greatful for it, hell i woulda killed to have these things dropping when i started.
if you really don't like them just give them to a true new player or sell them to the NPC shop....can always use a lil extra cash ;)

Soooo.... what you're saying is that you want no drops at all rather than actually getting something useful like common items?

And there is the flawed assumption. My common item drop wasn't a valued A or even a B grade item. It was C grade, which means that selling it is pointless, with all items being in NPC stores at affordable prices. Crystallization would have been a nice option, but I would have only received 2 or 3 crystals for a common item as opposed to the regular number. Not worth logging in my dwarf account for that. Not worth placing it in my WH for storage. The item simply was not useful for my purposes. Enter: trash bin.

Ignorance isn't always bliss.

I talked a noob out of buying a common item that some shady seller was trying to sell at 90% of market value. So glad that the noob was smart enough to shout for a price check before buying.

Listof could you have been any more stupid here? I usually think you have the right idea, but you are way off.

It;s obvious what he is asking for was an increase in the drop rate of normal items rather than the addition of common item drops, which don't drop from appropriately level mobs anyways. LOL to low A grade common drops coming from level 78+ mobs. Clearly working as desired.
do you get set bonus's from common items?
I got a tallum boot drop today. It was the first full item drop I got on my Gladi since she was level 10. I love it. It may also help bring prices down a bit. Why spend 7mil on an item when I can get the common version for 2mil. It's going to be good enough for a lot of people I would think.

Not that I'm aware of...at least the one unsealed set that I saw didn't show any of the set bonus text that normal armors have.

But how much happier would you have been if you had received the regular Tallum Boot? That's 7M - 8m in your pocket that you could crystallize or unload for a bit less than market and still netted more of a profit than a Common Tallum Boot.

Plus, I would challenge that it probably costs around 2M to craft the regular Tallum boot. Why buy a common item for that same price, given that it's a pale reflection of the original?

Don't get me wrong: I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade. But I think after so many years of getting kicked in the pants, too many folks here are happily bending over and asking for more: "Thank you, Sir/Madame, I'll have another please!!!" The reality is, you're getting next to nothing and liking it!

Meanwhile the rest of us are wondering why would they further hinder the odds of getting a good drop -- a rarity in and of itself -- by adding common items to the equation. [shakes head]

Ellisande, any reason you feel the need to be a complete jerk for no reason at all? Get your jollies IRL off it, do you?

OK.... so what part of that was him asking for increased drop rate of full drops? Peruse all of his posts, he NEVER ONCE asks for increased drop rate of normal items. The common theme throughout his posts is that he does not want common items to be drops. He never even mentions increasing the drop rate for normal items (although he might want it - but that's nothing unusual, most players do.) You're interpreting his posts based upon your own feelings on the matter and calling me stupid for that? I don't think so.

Try to keep up - the main reason he lists for not wanting common items for drops is that newbies might be tricked into buying them for near market value of the actual items. I can kinda agree with him on that, however, this is a game where scamming is allowed - I have seen several people selling spellbooks for exorbitant prices in Giran when they can now be obtained in the newbie villages. They're just waiting for those who don't know any better to stumble past and buy one. Newbies have to learn just like everyone else.

Since you seem to have a bit of an issue comprehending my post, I'll explain it for you. Normal drop rates were neither increased nor decreased (that I know of.) Therefore, had he NOT gotten a common drop, he would not have gotten any drop at all. It's not like he got a common SLS that would have been a real SLS had NCsoft not introduced common items... no, had NCsoft not made common items as drops, he wouldn't have gotten anything at all (no real SLS, no common SLS, nothing.) I could understand his deal if he knew with 100% certainty that the common item replaced an actual item he would have gotten, but he can't know that for sure. For all he knows, the mob would have dropped thread instead.

LOL to low A grade common drops coming from level 78+ mobs. Clearly working as desired.

And as I said, I haven't gotten any A-grade common drops yet so please take your attitude somewhere else. Drops in this game have always been messed up, have they not? They have always dropped from mobs that are way too high for the level of equipment they are dropping. What makes you think that it would be any different w/ common items? Kinda stupid to expect that, if you ask me...

But how much happier would you have been if you had received the regular Tallum Boot? That's 7M - 8m in your pocket that you could crystallize or unload for a bit less than market and still netted more of a profit than a Common Tallum Boot.

...

And how do you know that he/she would have gotten a regular Tallum Boot drop before the update? You don't! In fact, the mob probably would have dropped something really stupid like stem. Woop-di-doo... I'll take the Common Tallum Boots, thanks.

If you will show me math and drop data that shows that common item drops actually lower the chance of getting normal full drops, then maybe I'll agree with you. As of right now, however, all we know is that common drops have been added to the game, not that they lower the chance of getting regular full drops. (Do they even drop from the mobs that drop the regular full drops?)

I also read somewhere that as long as your full set is common items you do get the set bonuses. So you can't mix and match regular w/ common, but a full common set would be a great alternative for people who can't afford a normal set. It may not be worth 7-8 mil to sell, but whatever it sells for, I'm sure it's more than stem, thread or bone.

If you will show me math and drop data that shows that common item drops actually lower the chance of getting normal full drops, then maybe I'll agree with you.

I am not posting for a consensus, just awareness. But to answer your point...

...you're kidding, right?

You don't need a drop table to know that if someone adds one more variable to the number of possible outcomes it decreases the likelihood of getting the desired outcome, i.e., a complete normal item drop. Obviously L2 drop tables are slightly more complicated than that, but you get the gist.

I also read somewhere that as long as your full set is common items you do get the set bonuses.

This is the part that I've yet to personally confirm. A link would be appreciated.

Like I said, I've only seen one set, but have never equipped it. On Devianne at the moment someone is selling a DC Common set. I did not see the text re: Set Bonus info that normally accompanies armors.
I like the common item drops. Struggling players are more likely of the less desirable classes and/or are in smaller clans or no clan at all. Leaving full drops for raid bosses means these players won't see those items as drops.

As a BH, the only times I was invited to Anthras was as a pack mule to carry shots for the "useful" classes... and although I was present and added some small amount of value, I didn't get squat of the drops cut. I didn't care because I was just thrilled to go to the raid in the first place but I can appreciate how left out players of lesser classes or smaller clans may feel.

A full drop, even a common item, feels really cool when it happens. I was recently soloing and got a Blood Tornado common item drop... I was thrilled... it just saved me a fortune for when my Orc gets to A Grade.
I don't mind them, but I guess it can be a bit annoying on the carry weight when they drop as frequent as they do, either way... It's free crystals, good stuff.

I've gotten over 700 in A Crystals since the last patch from common items.

If you will show me math and drop data that shows that common item drops actually lower the chance of getting normal full drops, then maybe I'll agree with you. As of right now, however, all we know is that common drops have been added to the game, not that they lower the chance of getting regular full drops. It's the same as with mp herbs. This new expansion adds new herb types - vr herbs, crit herbs, big head herbs and so on. When a herb dropped in the last expansion, your chance of getting a mp herb was 1/x. x being the number of different herbs, and probably weighted a bit (to give hp herbs a higher chance of dropping, they obviously drop more often than mp herbs). In this new expansion, the chance of a mp herb dropping is 1/x+y, y being the number of new herbs, and also everything weighted again, so that mp herbs drop less often than hp herbs and buff herbs. The new patch quite obviously made mp herbs drop less often than before, simply because there are more herb types to choose from when a herb drops.

Same for normal full drops and common items. The mere existence of common items reduced the drop rates of other drops, if the mobs still drop everything else they had in their drop lists (and it definitely looks that way so far).
People whine too much ... common items are far more useful than thread (of which I have about 350k of) or mithril arrows in hellbound or or or. Understanding elementary mathematics will lead to you understanding that if a specific full item has a 1/40000 chance of droping it will still only drop 1/40000, makes no difference if the mob has 100 items in it's drop list or just that one 1/40000 item

honestly i think a lot of the new players don't even know the difference

This is so true. Most of the Players in my clan Love Common Gear.

Here I am in Brig +4+3+3+3+3 on this Scavy thinking I'm going do all the tanking and here come a New clan mate in Plate set and it's all Common and has more P defense then me yet they paid less then what I paid for my Brig gloves back in the day. LOL Common Drops area good thing and I'm stocking all weapons for clan use.

BTW I got a BW Robes Top full drop yesterday non common so yea you still get full drops. ;)

i'm pretty sure that's assuming only one herb can drop at a time ... but it cant, more than one can, so the chance that it drops it still the same, ever had a mob where you've gotten 3 herbs or something? i'm pretty sure there's a max amount so i assume it will lower the chance still, just not as drastically as you say,

however with the standard items you still get the PDEF and PATK of the armours and weapons, you just dont get set bonuses or SA's on them which on most sets can be fixed via dyes ... and having a weapon at all that you can use is better than no weapon just cause u want an SA
Comom itens are good.
Cheap jewls till A grade, you dont really need to boost them, i went with mine D grade till lvl 52.
Cheap Heavy Armor till B grade, you can have your top doom/bw and it will enable you to customize more your stats cause theres no stats modifier. Cant you lvl with a stupid dorf chain mail? why cant you use a sealed doom?
Very cheap weapons till D grade. They dont need SA nor be enchanted.

If all this is not enhough, FREE A B C D CRYSTALS, its few? yes but its FREE and you can really save some money in shots with them.

And yet even a struggling player deserves to reap the benefits of their efforts.

And...

Not entirely free. We're paying for entertainment. Common item drops make me question my total entertainment value.

Make me believe that your one of those gamers that feels that since they paid $15 or $50 dollars then they deserve all of the unlockables, gear, rewards, experiences, and whatever else they think that they are entitled to.

That's awesome.

The crux of the problem is that you care waaaaay too much about sparkly [censored] in a video game. In WoW it was raid drops and battleground gear. In TF2 it's the unlockables. In L2 it's top grade gear and all kinds of others stuff. Yeah, guess what? All that make believe [censored] is intentionally put just out of your reach. Seriously, stop me if this sounds dumb to the point of it being truly mind-numbing, "I like [name of any MMORPG], but it would be 100000% better if it weren't for the level grind and gear ladder." Wow, what an original complaint. I am sure developers are feverishly working on a AAA title that lacks any components that compel you to keep playing for years on end. I think it should be called "World of I Really Don't Feel Any Urge To Level Or Get New Gear"

The reason for the grind:
1. It will, in theory, keep your playing(read: subscribing) since you're constantly chasing new levels and gear
2. Give those who are super hardcore "achiever" types something to pine over while they whittle away the hours
3. Piss off the "casuals" who really aren't in the casual mindset

Stop coveting imaginary [censored] and amazingly...you will no longer care about what someone else has in a video game. Just play the game if you find it fun, quit if you don't.

Make me believe that your one of those gamers that feels that since they paid $15 or $50 dollars then they deserve all of the unlockables, gear, rewards, experiences, and whatever else they think that they are entitled to.

Truly divergent thinking here.

No, I never said that we were entitled to anything but entertainment, and that getting common items as a regular and what seems a frequent drop is not my idea of entertainment.

Anything else that you're reading into that is the consequence of your own phenomenological bent. Perhaps that is your reality, valid and welcome in that respect, but not one that I share.

And by the way, any attempts to tidy this up and put a bow on it by concluding "either like it or quit" is the stuff of trolls. I've read plenty of your posts and I expect deeper insights from you than that.

For what it's worth I don't care about the "sparkly" items in this game. I have what I need. But I do care when someone tries to pass off fluff as substance. Common Items are fluff in my opinion.

At any rate, the feedback thus far is that most of you like getting these items as normal drops, even if it means that your chances of getting the real thing is one step (drop) removed.

I think at this stage of the game, these drops are just trash. People had gotten too used to full drops being extremely rare. In my personal and always humble opinion, it is something that should've been in the game at the beginning; not the end.
if everything was in the game at the beginning there would be no need for updates. This is a growing and evolving game so things you feel should of been at the beginning is irrelevant. :p

Where did I say that everything should've been in the game at the beginning? Nice strawman.

Gosh do I need 2 post a Wet Floor sign (Picks up Elrohir) watch your step sweetie and no your not might type ;)
To the OP: With Common Items you are given something for nothing, more than you had before, so complaining about it strikes me as a response that is not particularly mature.

Allow me to offer a theory about the purpose of Common Items. With the Vitality system and other changes we will probably see people levelling to A grade much faster, perhaps in half the time more or less. Since people will be killing half the mobs they will be reaching A grade with half the adena, half the AA and half the drops that have been the norm*. They will be unlikely to be able to afford 'real' A grade gear, so the 'Common Items' were introduced to give them something to wear as they work towards the real stuff.

Most players outfitted in Common gear will strive to upgrade their gear to 'real' and the dwarven economy will continue to be necessary. Also, the supply of crystals from the common items helps keep crystal prices lower...which helps crystal buyers but hurts crystal sellers.

But my bottom line is that the Vitality System makes Common Items necessary.

* They will also have learned half as much about succeeding in L2, but that is an entirely different topic.
I'd still like to see confirmation on common items getting set bonus or not. Seems no one knows for sure. SS would be nice confirmation.
Common items are very usefull for newbies, the drops too. Im new here and i got a lot of common item drops that i could sell for nice prices in shops. I think this is for newbies like the buffs up to 62 and its not for the old players. imo.. :P
I like the common drops, basically free crystals. The "assumption" that a new item dropping takes the place of or lowers the chance of another item dropping would require a complete set of the new drop tables to prove. Otherwise you can guess that adding this pot takes away a chance at another pot dropping or a common item dropping 5 times replaces a real item.
How about maybe a common item dropping takes 5 adena off the mobs normal adena drop. Sounds stupid but it is just as likely.
If the common items are in your way, leave em on the ground and those of us that like them will pick them up. I'm gettin alts geared up now that i couldn't afford to before. I like it.

To the OP: With Common Items you are given something for nothing, more than you had before...

Ahh, the Zero Sum slant? But I don't see it as getting something for nothing, I see it as getting something in lieu of something better. I think you have to agree that a drop resulted, only it was a Common Item. Frankly, I would even prefer to receive a mat or recipe for the regular item than to receive a Common Item.

An excellent theory!!! This may very well be the case.

Except...

...A Grade is no longer the end all and be all. S/S80 grade is. But you'll note that there aren't any Common Items for that grade. Given your reasoning, one would think S Grade would apply in your model as well. But the Common Items "Good Times Train" stops rolling just short of S Grade. Why?

Further, even before the Vitality system, you could level to S grade using B grade armor and weapons. With everything except for Top B armors being available in the Lux shop, and since Common Items supposedly do not offer any set bonuses, SA endowment, enchant or augment opportunities, the purpose of Common Items seems to be to give the appearance of a diamond without actually giving a diamond. CZ anyone?
actually, it's better than nothing. it would be better if common items weight was reduced.

I don't see it as getting something for nothing, I see it as getting something in lieu of something better

Your herb example proves the oposite of the point your trying to make. Drops come based on each mobs % chance to drop each particular item, not on some complicated mathmatical solution where adding a drop reduces the chance of other things to drop. This is highlighted by the herb example, except you made 1 minor mistake, there aren't less mana herbs dropping. There are in fact more herbs overall dropping, because the new herbs drop was added, which did not effect the drop rates of the herbs that were already in place.

Ahh, the Zero Sum slant? But I don't see it as getting something for nothing, I see it as getting something in lieu of something better.

As I understand it, the full drop rate hasn't changed so now you have a chance of getting one outrageously cool real full drop and one mildly cool common full drop at independent rates. If correct, it seems to me like an added bonus to the drop roster.

TauTau had a very good perspective on this. You're correct that AG isn't end all but SG is outrageously expensive. Not spending adena on the lower grade equipment by using common items affords newer players the opportunity to save their adena for SG where, as you pointed out, there are no common items available.

All things considered, I can see the benefit of the vitality system and common items where new players are concerned. My confusion is that seems to be an awful lot of work for a game that doesn't make an attempt to bring new players... at least not in NA.
I agree that TauTau presented the best argument for Common Items, but I still have yet to hear a reason why CI's needed to be included to our normal drop tables. They could have just as easily concocted a quest for those individuals who are struggling to get gear. Heck, the Coin Quest could certainly benefit an upgrade in rewards at every level. Insert the CI's there.

I realize that I'm one pebble against the wind -- which no doubt means that CI's are a success by the devs' standards -- but it's tough for me to acknowledge that everyone's expectations are so low that people are actually "thrilled" about getting even a simulacrum of a normal, complete drop. What has the player base come to?

Whine more? Perhaps [/raises hand].

Grovel more? Never!
common item is good because

finally i can equip my SE majestic common set instead of random BO/elven necklace/maj earing+3 ,lol.

Replace that crappy Zubei shield (crafted in C4) with a nice and **** common item NM shield on that SE.

SwS/BD : it is standard practice on bartz for sws/bd to have a bow as secondary weapon, so a common item soul bow is pretty good for bd/sws in pvp.

so even if i unseal them , i still cant get the set bonus =/

what am i to do with my a grade armors.. seems like a shameful waste :(
It looks to me common items are a good thing tor PKs. They made PKing harder since several updates but this makes it easier.

No.

You should not be able to get S grade without hard work, and S80 without help of your clan, being you casual or not.

Having cheap items up to A grade allows your clannies to better understand if you are worth the effort - before they need to donate something really expensive to you.
Weapons, jewelry, good
C/B/A armor with no set bonus - pointless

Common D grade drops too often for it's value, it's simply not worth picking up if you're out hunting for a bit longer than a buff round

Should have given up on this argument a long time ago. It was never suppose to be easy to get B grade then aA grade then S grade and now S80. Farmers made it easy to get all of them, so now they change the way to get S80 and make it insanly hard and IMO not worth the trouble it's suppose to be good. It just continues the process. More players whether they admit to or not are not going to spend the time and effore it takes now to get S80. Yes maybe they players on the official forums will, but they are quit the minority. Don't kid yourself thinking anything in this game is hard to get. It's all easy to get at the right price. If you read any of the other forums out there you know there are people who pay those prices all the time. It's a joke really so I just go without. Beside WHO ia almost out and if it's even remotly as fun as it looks it will be a ghost town around here.
I have heard several 'WTB' shouts for common items. They have been for specific items or groups of set items, like 'wtb BW common helm and gloves.'

Yes, there are now just as many common items in Giran Market Square as there are regular items. Depending on what you're looking for, there are probably even more common items of the type than regular. It will take some getting used to, since if you're looking for a specific item, it's disappointing (to me anyway) to find the common item version for sale, but not the regular.

And the really funny part is fielding the sales pitches of the common item sellers. Yet again one of them tried to convince me last night that I was getting a steep discount on the real thing. Just once, just once (!!!), I'd like to PK in a peace zone.
Now we just have to wait till common items find their "shop spot" like most other things have so we don't have to look at all the useless common armor :/
I LOVE IT!!!!!

I have 26 chars 10 are A grade u ever tryed to buy 10 a grade weps? well now i can. i dont care about sa, i dont care about +ing em, i just wanna be able to equip em and have good duos and trios. I am up to 9 A grade weps and counting.
I mean having top a grade weps especially for the hlrs, wc's and buffers is so awesome... i can actually have em do damage now. throw some +4 str tats, and pl set and they become my small dd'ers in party:)

wut?
ill give u example.....
ok say i wanna duo my bish and wc.
I put my main wep (+5 doom crusher/anger) on my wc.
I put my PL set(which now can be bought for 1m) and a common dragonslayer on him. So now i have a decent duo to lvl. Now imagine having 13 duos to deal with. Add the fact that my wife leaves em in catacombs all over the map. Lets now take into effect that my wife wont play unless she doesnt have to switch gear. So with common items, I can:
a:) have as many duos and trios all over the map never having to exchange gear
b:) can have any char ready to go for any pve situation
c:) can lvl my hlrs and buffers as dd'rs instead of just dragging em around.
comprende? lol
some free crystals are niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.
I think the only ones that "should" complain about the common drops are the bots, who cannot afford to set the commons picked up because of their weight.

I would love to see someone coming in here and complaining "Why the hell did you NC people put the common drops in the game, when my bot cannot afford to pick them up?". Of course, they would be able to just come here and say a ton of crap about how useless the common drops are...

The rest of us should be grateful that there is a way now to get for example a full Black Ore set at ToI 5 in 2 hours for a clan member that cannot afford 10 million at B-grade for jewellery.
Oh there have been quite a few threads telling us how horrible common items are. Lol the excuses people will come up with these days!
Btw as a freshly rolled Phantom Summoner, i am soo happy about these drops. I managed to gather up more D crystals for my summons that i would ever need. C grade's are coming up nicely too, it just makes my day knowing i dont have to spend extra money for these things.

I think you need a solo game.
I love how he speaks of his little army of characters at the third person, as if they had a live of their own...
What on earth do you do with 13!!! duo parties?? And what do you mean your wife leaves them all over the place? You mean she leaves them to grind? On their own? Poor little army, tell me where they are, i'll bring them cookies :P

Too lazy to read the 6 pages in the middle, so maybe it was already answered...
For sure mobs that dropped normal fulldrops now drop (nearly?) only common items. Example EG Ghouls or Orcs in lower Cemetary. Before I would get 10 fulldrops while lvling alts there, now I get 30 drops but ALL common. (If you do the math thats more weight and less crystals in the end)

I've just accepted the fact that most of the players like CI's. They're here, nothing can change that now.

But I will second your experience. I rolled a couple of new toons since Gracia, including a Soul Breaker that is now 62. I have not received any normal drops on those toons, but have received a bunch of CI's. Some I leave on the ground, the others that I think will sell, I take to the market. Adjust and move on.
Yep, common items replaced superior items on normal monsters:

Common Weapons & Armor

Common weapons, armor, and accessories are sold in shops and dropped by regular monsters. These items cannot be enchanted, augmented, or enhanced. Common items can be changed into Kamael-specific weapons and dual-swords.

Superior Weapons & Armor

Superior weapons, armor, and accessories are crafted by Dwarves and dropped by Raid Bosses. These items can be enchanted, augmented, or enhanced. When a Dwarf happens to create two weapons, armor pieces, or accessories from one set of materials, Superior weapons, armor, and accessories are the type of item that are created.

So: Normal mobs don't drop superior items anymore. That is backed up by l2 wh and personal experience as well as experience from everyone that I've talked to ingame.
So normal items are now called Superior, the rare crafts are called Foundation and the ones that keep dropping like its christmas are Common...Ok its now time to cry for the days of getting a full drop are now over :((((
