I have an idea for the independent clans on Phoenix: let's sign as attackers agains any Giran owning clan that keeps taxes above 5%. With no politics; just some economics, PvP fun, fame points (and maybe some short-term red wars after first sieges, bringing more drama to the forum).
Yes. Sounds good to me. make sure to bring some clan points.
hate to say it. but most really don't care what the tax rate is. and if you were successful, noone would show up to help defend low tax rates. just want someone else to hand it to them on a plate.
People don't deserve low taxes, IMO. going to spend all their adenas anyhow on cheap foreign goods.

You would probably have a better chance, if people successfully defended Giran. and it was because of people helping, and asking the kind generous owners of Giran to lower taxes in appreciation. That would actually work better, IMHO. but you would need more than like 10 defenders with like paper hats and clown shoes.
I thought about defending, and it seems to be much worse. If you fight for the clan that agrees to pay you with lower taxes in return, it's more involvement into politics.
Also, "proper" attacking clans might feel a little nervous seeing some random toons running outside the castle. But it pales in comparison with the reaction of "proper" defending clans seeing some random toons inside.
Honestly whoever controls Giran, given the new desirability of people to purchase C-gear, etc. would be very smart to inform people friendly to them of a short window of purchase time for 0% tax rate, then jack it back up for the unwashed masses.
Note to Giran-controllers: There are Neutrals that like you, report your enemies, respect you. Please take care of us! :-)
The Pope gets 5% from all castle owners, this may be why the taxes have risen. Always been this way, however in the Intrest of Unilateral pease I am willing to drop my take to 1% per catle lord.

OR! We could all sign up dusk, and ensure Strife seal wins (this would limit max tax rate). Then you'd save an additional 50k every two weeks as well :) Economics 101
