My problem

Here is the deal:
I play a 78 Hell knight with sub SWS (currently 66)
I know i am tank and I have higer HP/con

but even with vangaurd my sws has higher Pdef and Patk

My set is HK duel dam*tal I use for both main and sub and I use tallum heavy for the extra atk speed

I use the same set up for SWS

don't get me wrong I love vanguard but atm moment my (level 78) HK<SWS (level 66) in P atck and pdef

with full PP buffs I have 874 P atck and a little over 1k with sws. I know I have Dark panter that helps

Well, what exactly are you asking?

Also, what is your Tattoo setup on your HK Vs. SWS, and when you are comparing P.Def, are you comparing that with Song of Earth on the SWS?

I couldn't get "over 1k" patk with your sws, your equipment and PP buffs using l2calc. Not even with PoF and +5 Str.

Maybe the -4 STR has something to do with it? You're effectively taking your STR from 43 to 39.

I'm confused then... First you say you used same gear between both, and now your saying your comparing stats from different weapons and setup's?...

Also, if you have an +7 IM w/focus, why use vanguard with Duals over the IM? Duals are horrible weapons unless you have masteries or skills specfically with them, and not counting vanguard with that.

Ok i guess I have everyone confused I hope this clears it up

on my sws before i got dem*tal I have a +7 IM that gave me over 1k Patk but I have sold the IM and only have the dam*tal +4
so sws tal heavy +4 tal*dam NO tat
on HK tal heavy with vanguard +4 dex -4 str +4 wit -4 int +4 tal*dam

All I am saying is that is seems that my 78 HK with vanguard equal the same stats as my 66 SWS

+dex increases runspeed, evasion, shield success rate, accuracy, attack speed, not to mention more attack speed means non magic skills have lowered re-use time. It is a good tat to get on a tank.

not really, galil. +dex does do that but you really wont notice a huge impact. -10 dex (my current setup) took away about 50 attack speed, and about 40 runspeed. i dont personally have an accuracy problem being a blunt/fist user.

for any tank i would only ever recommend to stay vanilla.

You are a tyrant correct? Tyrants have amazing accuracy and runspeed and amazing attack speed so dex is not that much of an issue. You dont use a shield. I subbed a tyrant :P

The big one for the tank is Shield defence success rate and it is greatly affected by DEX

im not talking all geared up in a different class. i am talking MY paladin. i have more than one class, man, just like you.

MY paladin uses a blunt to tank with. it doesnt have Haste, but i would say blunt+ haste would just about neutralise the negatory effects of -dex as a tank. i havent noticed how bad it is in shield defence rate because vr is regening too much for me to care at this point.

i suspect if i look at my damage log i would see a sloppy def rate. i will have to do a run without VR. at 44 though i have 850 pdef. and i have not yet obtained Guard stance nor shield aegis.

in aoe groups i do OK as long as theres a mess of other DD there. i can keep hate by simple spam and live long enough to tell the tale.

Why would you go with a Blunt + Haste with -Dex, instead of going with a -4 Con +4 Dex Setup with the same Blunt + Health is beyond me, especially in your level range.

shield defense doesn't help much in PvP considering the amoun of skills that ignore shield defense

it just helps more now that you get an actual pdef from it

yay 0.000001% chance to deflect prominence or hurricane, you'd better hope that the it fails nonetheless you acutally blocking it. Besides a buffed up nuker with vortex slug will pwn you instantly even if you had 300dex

I presume your a DA, which has the worst Blockrate of all the tank classes.

Well...everything is good. I have the same p.def and waaay more p.atack on my dwarf than you on your HK. And it's OK. Because you r a TANK. U don't suppose to hit, just stand and take the damage or aggro on yourself enemies. Sws r pretty good for sub and they MUST have p.def higher due to songs. So what r u complaining about? U still have this wonderfull panther of yours! **** it! My golem sucks comparing with her... :/ + u have many-many skills and Final Fortress which I or SWS doesn't have. So...everything's ok and good 4 u!
