I have a lvl 63 PW in need of gear and I am looking for options. Mostly tell me to get DC but that seems to be the best if your not the tank. Unfortunently I solo and I am allways the tank. I tried DC in Martydom with a PP lvl 56 and a SE lvl 66. To say the least I drained both PP and SE's mp as well as poping pots like candy. My friend tells me NM is the best to solo cuss it has the highest Pdef with 5%pdef and VR modifier "3% return in hp" for set bonus. I tries the +0 NM set and WOW I could solo thous mobs with min. heals. Still I am open minded and considering the bad rap I hear about NM I figured I would post up and see what everyone says. Is Tallum or Maj even worth trying or is NM the sleeper dgr/tank armor I am looking for? Thanks for the feed back. :)
My PW is 77 and I still solo with NM. and I have every Light Armor in the game but S grade. I tried S grade (on PTS) and for PVP it's great but for PVE I have yet to find anything better then NM solo. Except maybe a +6 NM set :D
That big of a difference eh? Better start saving for that NM set then.
Ashley, did you compare Nm to Drac set in PvE? Considering the higher pdef it might nullify the VR effect somewhat.. Drac looks sweet too :>
The P defence helps a lot and you do have more P atack in Drac also but would be better for a human or Dark elf (looks better on them also) but becasue of the high Critt rate of PW's and the fact you get a lot more from VR from a critt then you do a normal hit....NM was just made for us. It's to bad people don't make +6 NM because I would forget a few Weeks of XPing and focus on Crafting to make the money for it. ;)
Well a TH still got higher DPS than a PW so it works until S, not like I can afford a Drac set anymore either hehe Going to try NM when I get that far :>

I am not sure about TH but I took my lvl 63 PW with full +3 DC set to Martydom and I drained both my SE lvl 66 and PP lvl 56's mp. I was eating pots left and right. To saythe least I only owned that +3 set for 1 day and took a 5m loss to get my +0 NM set. With my +0 NM set I solo martydom with ease. Not stressed nor eating pots, I was able to focus on my dager mastery and left my SE with mp to recharge me. I like the look of DC better but recomend it to others in a group where your not the tank. The VR3 from my SE and the 3% health regen on the NM work great together. If I where you I would try a NM set as it is cheaper. If you do not like it then sell and get a DC set and by that time you will have the $$$ for the +3 set. I strongly do not recomend anything other than +3 DC set as DC is not top A and has a much lower Pdef. Furthermore the NM gives an additional +5pdef.

I've been soloing on my -9con TH in DC light just fine with only SE buffs from 62 up to like 78 when I got my drac.
I did however not level in catas anymore after witches because I was sick and tired of them.
I'd recommend DC to every dagger class simply because damage is everything. With a SE and a PP you should generally never have problems with your HP except if you hunt unsuitable mobs (red and above or dagger/physical resistant) and in that case I'd reccomend to switch hunting grounds.
When I got my NM it was kinda nice to be able to solo beastmaster groups in GC without heals, but after I had my DC I didn't want back to my NM simply because the dmg was sooooo much better. I rather throw out an additional heal now and then and kill mobs faster than to kill slower but without heals ^^;
But anyway, it's prefference in the end.
Right now I got an evasion build with drac+dex+OEd evasion passives+good evasion augment+pow+agility scrolls and that is pretty much perfect for solo/small group hunting. Especially with evasion haste @.@
/agree but as for me I use my lvl 60 Great wolf so dmg is not my problem and you are absolutly correct if your not in a cata. But as most know I have AA problems LOL so I go to cata. As far as the hunting grounds go I am in yellow/reds at martydom and DC would work for non cata zones. But for cata's I would only go NM unless I have a tank. LOL what am I thinking, I am cheap and I like top grade with high pdef so I will go NM either way.
Same here I have a level 70 Wolf so I need my AA for Bless pet rez and GHP and GSAP. I only have a SE and no PP so I have more needs then you do. So NM works better for me when 99% of the time I'm the tank. + it saves my SE mp for other things like Buffs and saving my butt :)
I have DC Light it is nice for damage so I give it to my WC she has drain anyway. ;)
However doing Varkas in DC is a quick way to die so I have been using my +6 BW light set and WOW the P defense on that set is better then any A grade set and it helps with her mp pool and casting speed. I can hunt for hours at Varkas with Soulcry on the whole time. ;)
