O/ed Recharge

Which amount of enchanting corresponds to which level (regarding recharge level penalty) of the skill?

Also, before Mana Gain buff was in game, it was advisable to enchant Recharge for cost if you usually recharge nukers, and for power otherwise. Is it changed to "enchant for cost only" now?
99% sure my SE can recharge me full at 80 with +2.

If you're recharging low level nukers, cost is ok, need power to make full recharges at higher levels. End game Power> cost, always has been so it was never "advisable" :p
Are you sure that it's power that is needed, not just the amount of the pluses? Would be very strange to make one of the branches completely counterproductive... however, could be expected from NCsoft.

Not true -- Cost works just as well for recharging higher levels.
I was told power was less good then cost...
To be honest, I'm not sure which is more advantageous right now. I haven't done the math. I just remember from when I initially enchanted Recharge that Power didn't seem to give good returns at low levels of enchantment.

However, I can see where Power could be more useful when Arcane Wisdom and cost-decreasing buffs are stacked to the point of making the difference between base cost and enchanted cost very small. This is just speculation on my part because I've never had the patience to calculate exact numbers or test using a recharger with +Power.
The OE type is not important IRT maintaining the ability to recharge high level characters without penalty. The level difference is 6 max to avoid a penalty, so a level 74 Recharger can recharge a levle 80 character no problem.

Cost is > Power because cost affects the efficiency of the recharges better, and you can stack cost savings with things like Cost OE, Malaria, Clarity, Magnus Chant. Power isn't the same. Cost is generally > Power for OEing Recharge.

OE type does not affect what levels you can recharge, learn level does. When you +1 you recharge, you boost the Learn level from 74-76. Every 3rd OE is a boost in Learn level.

+1-3 = Level 76 Skill
+4-6 = 77
+7-9 = 78

The level of Skill OE that you can get reliably is dictated by your level. It is very hard to OE a skill above your level, since the success rate drops down to very low level (more chance to fail than succeed).

That is why +9 skills used to be the max anyone would go, because the skill OE system was balanced for level 78 characters (the last level they really got sills when the skill OE system was developed). NCSoft only made it possible to get skills above +9 reliably (key word) after they added skills for 79+ and moved the max level from 80-85.

Cost > Power
Skill Learn Level dictates what where your recharge begans to downgrade.
Skill Learn Level can be increased through Skill Enchants - Enchant Type doesn't matter, just level of Enchant.
Sorry for taking so long, but I just tested this. A 74 SE recharges me (80) for about 150ish. A +1 recharge gives the full amount. So you need to be within 4-5 levels of recharge to get the full amount I believe.
**** you moo. I was totally about to post that a level 74's recharge doesn't fully recharge a level 80 until it's +1 something!!! :(

so a level 74 Recharger can recharge a levle 80 character no problem.

Like ML and Moo said, you need +1 to power or cost for a full recharge at 80, regardless of the lv of the recharger. Thats because you don't get anymore recharge skill sets past 74. Good job continuing to show your knowledge of mages and their support classes though, its always fun to read your posts. :o

It's most likely 5 levels then. I could have sworn it was 6 though, cause my SE has always been 6-11 levels behind me (hate leveling it).
I had a chance to test it after breaking my SE's recharge (yay me!)
I just got spectral dancer on shaboom today and decided to try for +1Time on Dance of fury, 82% success rate.

It failed lol. 82%....

I tried again and it succeeded :)

I'm so unlucky lol.
The same happened with my Turn Undead.
enchanting recharge for cost worths more than enchanting it for power

non enchanted recharge gives 136mp. +1 +2 for power takes it to 137 mp and +3 to 138. +1 for cost is 135 mp +2 133 and +3 132

if u do it for power every 3 enchants u dont get an increase in the power (+1 +2 is the same, +4 +5 same also, +7 +8 etc). but if u do it for cost u always get -1 or -2 mp per enchant

ofc if u do it for cost or power it doesnt change the fact that u can recharge without penalty 80+lvl toons
On top of that, if recharging a mage, or if you have mana gain, you get twice the effect for the same cost. To throw random numbers out, lets say you recharge for 200 because of mana gain or it being a mage, and it costs 100. That's 200 mana to them per 100 of yours. Lets also say that power is +1 power (we know it is less) and cost is -1 cost (we know it is more). So a +10 power gives you 210 mana for your 100, or 2.1:1 ratio. +10 cost would give 200 mana for your 90, or 2.22:1 ratio. Cost is just plain better.
Ty for the numbers Moo, know I know what way to go if I ever bother OE'ing my Eva/Shil saints.
