Since the common items have been put in game has anyone else noticed the lack of full drops?
i mean its been like lvl 65-76 and the only full drops i have seen are from raid bosses.
/discuss
Hmm well depends for what kind of drops you look.
If you take c grade for example a lot full drops you could get in pavel ruins and enchanted vally. Thease dont happen anymore only common drops instead of the full drops in the the same frequency.
If you look on B and A grade from my experience common full drops happen a little more often then before with the full drops. Then again how usefull are common armor pieces now ? I agree weapons are usefull for a backupweapon purpose or to get a nice weapon cheap. But Armorparts without the added set bonus is questionable.
Then again i dont think common items are bad as drops.
They actually help new players and even older ones equip chars for a little money and dont help bots to be rewarded to be on 24 hours.
It also takes out the need for millions of adena for most ppl to progress in lvls in proper gear.
It looks like if you want "real" equip you have to craft it or do raids and this is really ok for me.
But Armorparts without the added set bonus is questionable.
I heard from my clannie that he got set bonus from unsealing common armor, but it got to be a whole common set though. So I suppose it'll be pretty nice for alt toons to use :) hm... oh and new players :p

Who told you that? I wouldn't believe everything thats said in our clan chat! :P
It was an A grade set. Maybe only works for A grade? o.o Coz you need to pay to unseal them.

Well... it wasn't in clan chat :p I got a common NM helm drop and I said, 'pfffff, useless [censored].' But then my party member said that (Name) unsealed whole set A grade common and got bonus.
I never actually pm'd that guy to ask about it, but maybe u do get something if u pay the price for it? :p
But I definiately will try when I can get the whole set.

I would hope so.... but yea mine was a free unseal. ;)
And I too believe that full drops from mobs are gone - in the low level cats I used to get a bunch of blue buckskin boots, etc, but now I still get the same amount, but they are all Common items.
Common weapons, armor, and accessories are sold in shops and dropped by regular monsters. These items cannot be enchanted, augmented, or enhanced. Common items can be changed into Kamael-specific weapons and dual-swords.
Superior Weapons & Armor
Superior weapons, armor, and accessories are crafted by Dwarves and dropped by Raid Bosses. These items can be enchanted, augmented, or enhanced. When a Dwarf happens to create two weapons, armor pieces, or accessories from one set of materials, Superior weapons, armor, and accessories are the type of item that are created.
Before the common stuff came out; I would get maybe 1 drop on average from level 40 -75. Only got 1 weapon drop out of leveling over 10 toons to 70. Most drops were c grade earrings from the Sea Of Spore area.
I've notticed that instead of getting a normal iteM drop, I get common itemS drop. Which seems to me like normal drops were reduced. But it's only my own observation.
Well until i get a "Superior" item drop, that isnt no grade, i will continue to believe that they've changed the drop tables and that Superior items dont drop from normal mobs anymore.
Its sad in a way, but then again super items didnt drop much anyway, at least common ones do, and little by little they serve their purpose.
And with next Gracia update they'll even give set bonuses which is really good for those who cant afford to craft the real thing.
On the other hand, i seem to be getting a lot more Life Stones!
All in all i'm not very bothered by these changes, life goes on, its not super overly unbalanced and i can adapt. ^_^

Lo and behold! Now in color!
SUPERIOR weapons, armor etc..
not normal armor and weapons, this pretty much just means the new foundation items.
I can't prove it with a screenshots, but a friend of mine told me a few days ago that he got a normal elemental sword as a drop
I think a few reasons people might notice a lack of drops would be the vitality and kamaloka, you simply level quicker, so leveling from 40-70 and counting drops will statistically give you a lower number since you kill less mobs.
Not to mention the drop-rates of full A grade items are so rare already that an increase or decrease would be nearly impossible to detect
No, I think he is actually right. "Common" (="normal") items drop from mobs. "Superior" items are the items we are used to, the ones you can enchant/put SA on etc. That's the one you normally get when you craft. "Foundation" items are the new, special ones you SOMETIMES get from a craft.
Drops have been changed, you can only get common items from mobs now. The items we are used to are now called "superior" items and ONLY drop from raid bosses, and you can also craft them of course.
This is the first time I actually saw that little subtle change there. I just went to the well-known drop database website, and checked what full drops were known so far. There are no common items for NG, so those items still drop like usual from mobs (feriotic tunic, etc.). But even the very common D grade drops, like leather gauntlets, Hoplon, Ring of Devotion - they never dropped so far since the last expansion, even though there have been several thousand "death reports" of those mobs, and the drop chances in the last expansion were not that bad that absolutely NO D grade full drops should have happened by now. The only "superior" item drops so far were from raid bosses and kamaloka, and of course the no grade drops. Same for C grade and up. You'd expect somebody to have found a karmian tunic or an eldarake by now? Nope, has not dropped (even though some of the mobs have been reported 15000+ times by now, more than enough to at least get a c grade armor or shield). Once again: the only reported full drops of so-called "superior" items (the ones we were used to until now) were from raid bosses. There are NO full drops at all of these items from normal mobs so far. That's why I am pretty much convinced you cannot get those items anymore except via crafting or raiding.
Common items = items that cannot be enchanted, enhanced, etc etc, give lower crystal count, dont give a set bonus (yet) and drop like its christmas morning.
Superior items = formerly known as full items (when talking about drops), can be enchanted, enhanced, augmented, etc, give substantially more crystals, set bonuses, and all the stuff we know.
Foundation items which can then be turned into Masterwork items if you see the good old Mammon = the rare crafts that can be refined and transformed into Masterwork items, which have special abilities, increased stats when enchanted +4 and so on.
Now who's with me on this? We should settle things once and for all.
I have not gotten a single regular drop since the update.
I do get a ton of common useless items that I trash. It is annoying as hell when you get a common tallum hvy armor drop or something that weighs 10,000 lbs lol.

There is no need to make a poll about it, that is how it is.
"Full items" before this expansion = "superior items" now. That much is obvious from reading the patch notes. NCSoft logic seems to be that NORMAL=common items you cannot do anything with, and SUPERIOR=you can do more with it, specifically enchant/augment/SA it.
Lol i think all of our posts are redundant enough for every other person out there who wonders why they're not getting any full drops, to understand that there are no more full drops from ordinary mobs anymore :)
And here ends my redundancy on this subject. Cheers!
Seems you're right. no reports since CT2...
Although I think it's pretty **** stupid to rename the items we had since launch into suddenly being superior because you introduce something that is worse.

A common low A grade armor piece which drops from a level 80 mob has ZERO purpose. What would have been a nice change would have been to make S grade crystals drop from mobs that were level 76 and above.
Lol. People are raving on other forums about the useless common items! This is NCSoft's way of appeasing those who were complaining about the low drop rates.
Almost all common armor is useless. In fact, all of it is useless. The way the armor is balanced in Lineage II, it is useless to have such items dropping when the Armor P.Def is almost equal to that of a +4/3 set of Armor that is one grade below it. It is even less in the case where the B Grade set bonuses include a P.Def increase - the case for pretty much all cast speed sets (Karmian, Avadon, DC - and to speak of armor that I am most familiar with).
Why would someone wear a Common A Grade set with no Set Bonus when a +4/3 Avadon Robe Set has higher => P.Def and gives a Casting Speed bonus?
Why would anyone wear a Common Set of Jewels whos total M.Def is =< that of a +3 Black Ore Jewel Set.
The only thing that is useful, out of the entire slew of Common Items is the melee weapons. Those SAs aren't insanely game-making compared to the mage weapons. No SA on A Grade weapon = No PvP Bonus, though...
It IS good in that classes like Buffers/Archers/Summoners can get several weapons for different situations. It is bad that almost all the armor and jewelry are prettymuch = (in case of jewels) or worse (in case of armor sets) than sets that are 1 grade below them.
That does not entice people to upgrade and equip them. They are just a source of D-A Crystals. My roomate is in love with them, cause he hasn't had to buy crystals since Gracia was released. I have about 20 common A Grade items in my alt-clan warehouse and my accounts have only been reactivated for about 2 days... I don't even pay attention to drops to look for them anymore. Most of the time it's the same item over and over again anyways (I have like 10 Common DC Gloves from Hot Springs).
I did get a full drop Sealed DC Boots about 2 weeks before Gracia was released. I'm glad I got to experience that feeling before they totally mucked it up.
the drop must be nerfed for sure. I've been exping for a week in Frozen laby and not a single FP shield or ANY BW armor part (not common). But I Do get alot of common items instead... :/

Yep, and the only reason why these forums aren't in a uproar about this crappy system is because most players make it to where they never have to worry about adena in game to begin with (if you catch my drift). Most players simply don't care about those types of drops because they don't need them or want them for any reason other than sticking them on a dwarf to make profit off of them.
People leveling up toons that don't have adena pouring out of their ears got the shaft. Full drops in Ivory Tower crater used to be such a nice source of income for low level toons. They pretty much killed all of that.
The common items are such common drops, that they aren't even really a good way to make money. Anyone who wants some can go and farm for them with accuracy higher than that in most PvE games on the market these days.
EDIT: NCSoft had a real chance to somewhat balance the market in this game and make illegit means of acquiring gear seem like less of a necessity to new and returning players, and then completely dropped the ball on it. Common Items are pretty much a colossal failure, IMHO.
The point is tho, low lvl players don't need money anymore.
Any new player can easily lvl to 52 in Common top D and top C gear and spend a grand total of ~1,5m adena for all that equipment.
That's nothing, not even to a new player.
And even for B grade the need for adena has significantly decreased with gracia with low B being in luxury shop and top B being exchangable via mammon.
A new player can get himself in decent gear (Avadon+Sov/Acu for mages or Zubei/Avadon+Great Sword/Ice Storm Hammer/Kris/Kesh w/focus) for very little adena nowadays.
I really don't see how you can be complaining about the lack of "fulldrops" which were never frequent enough to rely on to begin with when at the same time the expenses for equipment at lower lvls have decreased that drastically.
Oh and btw, I got my BD sub a common maj jewel set now (for free from bots, thank you <3) because I don't play it often enough to justify unsealing/enchanting a real set at current prices so it's really nice actually.

Low levels never were the problem. A Grade and S Grade was the problem.
It was never all that difficult to get D, C, and B Grade gear. The biggest issue was the price jump from B to A Grade. Armor went from 10s of millions of adena to hundreds of millions of adena.
Did putting the armor/weapons in the Lux Shop/Grocery Store help? Hell yes. But, they have done nothing to mitigate the cost in going from B to A Grade.
With Vitality, a new player levels much faster than they used to. Vitality + new herbs + newbie buffs... They will not have as much time to "farm" or save up adena as many other had (unless they purposely stop leveling). The items they put in the Lux Shop has killed the economy as far as reselling those items are concerned. Some items have been halved in value with the release of Gracia.
I think 61/62 is pretty low level. I also think they will "need" money when they choose to go from free useless gear (common items) to real gear that costs 350M+ total (think DC Set, SoM/Acu, Maj Jewel Set + Enchants for all of it). I may be wrong though, since most players seem to have it all in the warehouse by the time they get to that level anyways...
If you can show me how it is more beneficial to wear a Common A Armor Set or Weapon Over an Avadon Set and Enchanted or OverEnchanted B or C Grade weapon please do... I fail to see any use for anything in the Common A bracket except for the melee weapons.
The jewels are only of marginal usefulness, since they cannot be Enchanted. You can only assume that someone with Superior Black Ore Jewels will have them at +4 which will put the set at a higher M.Def than Common Phoenix and [IIRC, Correct me if I'm wrong] Common Majestic Also.
People leveling up toons that don't have adena pouring out of their ears got the shaft. Full drops in Ivory Tower crater used to be such a nice source of income for low level toons. They pretty much killed all of that.
That's the part I was reffering to mostly.
Poor people are way better off now with common items than they were before.
And poor people can easily use B grade gear up into their 70ies if need be. I did exactly that on my first class as well.
Sure, if people expect to have A grade at 61 and S grade at 76 then they are in for a dissapointment unless they either take the time to farm cash or craft the stuff. But A/S should require some work imo.
And yea I totally agree with you, I'd rather use real B than common A grade and I personally don't see a point in common A armor sets either except that they give a few free crystals.
What I consider the problem is that many people aren't willing to put any effort in getting their gear.
I got my draconic set basically for free. I spent perhaps a grand total of 40m on it. Tops. And if S crafters hadn't be so ridicolously rare at that time I wouldn't have had to spend half of that even.
But of course it required quite some time farming silenos with a clannie that had the alliance on max lvl.
People that say "omg I can't afford to buy A grade it's sooo expensive T__________T" while they are like lvl 60 or 61 are just annoying and don't understand the concept.
If I had complained about the insane prices of draconic back then I still wouldn't have it because I would have never been able to get that much money (I'm lazy when it comes to making money, I admit it).
So to sum it up:
Imo common items helped new and poor players a lot by giving them free D/C gear.
Furthermore the introduction of B grade in luxury shop and at mammon made it easier for them to get into good B grade equipment which can last them up to 76 if needed.
For A grade common items didn't change much, a poor player is better off in B grade and the prices on superior A didn't drop (apparently).
For S grade it's the same as ever.
Looks like some ppl doesnt read forums/patch notes much.
Full items DOESNT DROP anymore FROM REGULAR MOBS. It was replaced with common items.
FULL ITEMS are from RAID BOSSES or CRAFT only.
Common S items doesnt drop, because there are no mobs who drop S parts. All S parts are spoil/quest only. Before Gracia rule "if drops key parts, then drops full item too" was true. Now for regular mobs its "if drops key parts, then drops common item too".
Clannie reported getting a full item drop (superior item) D grade helmet from a mob. Have not seen it myself, so could still be a common item, or maybe not from a regular mob. I personally have not seen anything else than common items dropping from standard mobs.
The jewels are only of marginal usefulness, since they cannot be Enchanted. You can only assume that someone with Superior Black Ore Jewels will have them at +4 which will put the set at a higher M.Def than Common Phoenix and [IIRC, Correct me if I'm wrong] Common Majestic Also.
common majestic rings might have the same mdef as +4 BO, but earrings and necklace must be enchanted higher then that before its equal to the common majestic.
also the common majestic can be unsealed and afaik will get the sliglty higher mdef that unsealing offers. imo the common majestic jewelry offers good enough mdef till you get 76 and S grade.
personally i think the Common items is one of the best things NCsoft came up with latetly. it offers a fairly steady amount of A crystals/extra adena. you might not get setbonuses, but you do get the pdef, and to some classes that is all they need. no b grade set have the pdef of the common top a sets, so i dunno what your smokeing there. the only ones that might really feel the need for sets are mystic classes, and avadon set works a long way. on a side note, i leveld my necro sub to 70 using a avadon set and elemental sword, then to 75 using dasparion staff and dc robe set. back then the a grade items were just too expensive for me still (c3/c4).
Clannie reported getting a full item drop (superior item) D grade helmet from a mob.
Maybe it's Kamaloka? as it's a mob, not a RB :p
No, they said it was from Cruma. I am a bit sceptical, as none of the mobs there is supposed to drop D helmets according to l2 warehouse - maybe it was one of the new "event" type mobs, who knows. But maybe you're right and they did the 36 kama before, it DOES drop D helmets...

Incorrect.
Avadon Robes Unsealed has a Total Armor P.Def of 250 Before Enchants.
NM Robes has a total Armor P.def of 294.
You can do an entire Avadon set to +4/3/3/3 Enchanted.
Avadon has a setbonus that Includes over +5.2xx% P.Def increase.
Also, the Non-Enchanted P.Def of a Blue Wolf Robe Set (High B Grade?) is 289, only 5 less than a NM Robe Set. Common Majestic Robe Set has a Total Armor P.Def of 316. Not really enough to make it worth wearing, IMO.
I never insinuated that there is anything wrong with Avadon (I used B Grade armor on my toon until level 72, and paid dearly for it but hey I couldn't afford anything else heh). What I'm saying is that the A Grade sets are completely useless compared to the Superior B Grade sets, when you consider Enchants (trivial +4/3) and set bonuses in the equation.
All classes need their set bonuses, becuase they are balanced with those bonuses in mind. Alot of classes depend on those set bonuses to offer additional protection from common CC techniques (like Stun, Root, Sleep, etc.) due to either common Tatoo Setups (-CON, -MEN, etc.) or Low Racial Stats in that area (Dark Elves, Kamael).
The classes are balanced with all of that in mind, and common items do not adher to those balance conditions. They are pretty non-factor. There are other ways to fix the crystal market.
P.S. I smoke Marlboro Lights.
P.P.S. I had more explanation but the post was about a page long so I deleted it. I think everyone is tired of reading my novels :(
look at it from the korean l2 standpoint. their game client comes bundled with a walker and everyone has their own parties instead of just one character. most of the huge changes to the game were made to make xp'ing while at work easier:
catacombs/necropolis'...set up specifically for fast xp for bot parties. generally you lose money hunting in them in small parties because of ss cost etc. that's because they were set up and designed for a full party to not use ss and be there all day.
gracia catered more to this by making it excessively hard to train in the catas/necros.
common items are pretty much just for those people who have their own party (in korea where it's allowed, mind you) so that their toons who don't matter can get the extra bonus to stats but not the set bonus (which, to be honest, is mostly for pvp anyway.)
common items are also ncsoft's way of making dwarves more in-demand because more materials/crafters are needed. the problem with north america is that we don't have the 100% a grade crafts (while korea does) and our market is furthering it's downward spiral.

Were the heck did you pull that information? I am guessing were...
Actually as of about a month ago I stopped getting any common item drops and fire stones. The only things I've gotten in a month on IoP other than thread and colored seeds have been spellbooks and 3 mid A grade weapon parts. WOW!
Though even if I had gotten common low A grade armors it would not have helped me one whit since, earth to NCSfot, I use Bsps S which need S crystals which are way more expensive than A grade crystals.
17 years of tang soo do MDK. my school goes there every year for the HG world championships and we spend some time doing other things in and around seoul.
i went into a game store, found someone who played l2...and i *gasp* asked the person.
A Grade is getting mighty expensive
I can't get a weapon and armor set for 150 mil anymore!
dle +3 /w enchant is around 145 mil
DC light set another 70
:(
Took 8 hours yesterday to find S Grade spiritshots on Devianne. I had to ask someone for one so that I could set up a Buy Shop... The ONE personthat was selling S Cry in Giran, had them in a vendor shop for 500k Adena EACH...
More work than play. Everytime I log in it gets less and less fun...
You could never get Weapon and Armor set for 150M, not A Grade.
That was only possible unless the weapon came without an SA, and I honestly can't remember the last time that I seen a DC Set (light or whatever) for less than 80M (cause everything except the main piece is usable in the other sets which sell how most notably the Robe Set). The closest thing I have seen to that was back in Interlude on Bartz (health economy): +0 DC Robe Set with a +0 Spiritual Eye with Acumen (or any low A Grade weapon, I guess), but it was slightly over 150 (like 85M average (armor) + 75M average (weapon) ). You'd have to get all the EAA and EWA. Jewels in that package were out of the question...
EAA now cost more than an EWB cost in Interlude. Lol, what a failure market.
I am paying the extra 30 bucks per toon to transfer off early back to Bartz. It is not worth playing on a server with a dead market. You need to log into Devianne and check out Giran. The prices are insane... 535M+ I had to pay for an +0 Arcana Mace with Acumen. That is not acceptable...
RL friend that I was playing with that xferred with me quit, so really no reason to play much anyways. I guess when it gets more bored I'll follow suit, but it is much funner to play on a more populated server like Bartz than Devianne (which seemed to have degressed heavily in the past 2 months or so, it was okay and now it's just not worth playing on that server).

And not to 'jack this thread, but have you seen what EWB's cost on Devianne even after the wonderful cubic quest was added? The market is out of control.
As common item drops become more common, and as regular/normal/superior items become more rare, it doesn't take Nostrodamus to predict how expensive the market will become for regular items. Dead server or not. Just wait for it....!
If NCsoft doesn't return normal drop back....the economy of all servers will die. A armor sets for 180-200kk....mats/res are extremly expensive. It's impossible to pay 600kk for a clean draconic bow! WTF???
There is this class, it's called "Fortune Seeker" it can spoil "S grade weapon materials" for example at "varka silenos stronghold" or "monastery of silence".
Then there are those places called "Imperial Tomb" and "Forge of Gods" that give you a quest for "S weapon recipes".
Futhermore there is this other class called "Maestro" it can create items if you bring your "S weapon recipe" and your "S grade weapon materials" to him ! Can you believe that? :O
Want me to introduce the system of "killing raid bosses" as well?
QQ
If everyone buys gear and noone even considers crafting (that's what I read out of the posts here) then it is quite obvious that the prices will sky rocket, isn't it?
Oh..i see a very "smart" human being here. For example at "varka silenos stronghold" u can find a lot of spots flooded by bot trains. U will be pked/trained there! Oh wait, maybe u are playing on Devianne for example or other totally dead server where u will find no ppl...or even bots....gf!)
For using s weap recs/and mats on a char so called Maestro u need to have lots of reses....omg. And btw do u know about lil thing called "fail"? m? I don't speak about not crafting at all but still...prices are oriented totally on epenixes. And i'm telling about random ppl.
U can introduce the system of "killing raid bosses" to ur mommy!)) If u untag w/o a clan. Think first.
Oh common don't make me start some childish server flaming^^
Sure, varka is botted mostly. But you will find plenty of mobs in upper mos, pagans and HB that spoil S mats. And don't tell me that every room in pagans, mos and HB is botted because then the prices for keymats would have to be significantly lower than what you make them out to be.
And what does your 3rd paragraph mean? Out of your gibberish I think I can read that you are untagged and can't get a "raidforce" (that's one lousy party nowadays) together, correct? Well then that's bad [censored] luck for you I suppose.
Bottom line is: If you are willing to invest time and effort you can get an S grade weapon/armor way below market price.
Is it easy? No. Does it work? Yes.
(same goes for S80, but that's a whole different league again^^)
Personally I got my full S on my Adv for a grand total of ~200m adena. (farmed all armor recs+mats, bought AS when cheap, farmed all enchant scrolls for weapon/armor, farmed all attribute stones w/ my clan)
Not my problem if you want an easy way out. Because to be blunt: there is no (legit) easy way in L2. Period.
But I got the feeling I'm only wasting my time on you anyway^^
No, u don't! All your words are correct. But i said not only about S grade but also about A grade. Legit ppl just can't afford playing anymore. That's what I've meant
The only thing i call [censored] in this whole update.
Is the fact that foundation items , don't make an armor set work with regular part.
So , if you wanna craft you IC set.
1st Get lvl 5 alliance in crowded with bot spot
2nd Hope to get the recipe of the pouch
3rd Hope to succed the craft
4th Hope that you won't have a Foundation item.
Really why can't we choose if we wanna turn a foundation item into a regular
Can we get an answer from Siren or Alyra on this? If it is true no more full normal drops from normal mobs well that is just bogus  and if it is true, then it should have been mentioned in the patch notes for sure :/
Yes, it's mentioned in the patch notes. As the "normal" items (that we used to have prior to the update) are now called superior items. Common items are the normal items now >.<
Quote from patch notes:
New Weapons, Armor, and Accessories
Common Items have been added up to A-grade. These items have the same stats as Superior Items, but they cannot be enchanted, enhanced, or augmented. They can be purchased at shops or obtained through hunting regular monsters.
Raid Boss Rewards
Reward amounts have been increased. You can acquire Superior Items by hunting Raid Bosses.
Changes to Ordinary Monster Rewards
New items (= common items) , such as weapons, armor, and accessories, can be acquired from normal monsters.
You can acquire Superior Items by hunting Raid Bosses
I think that's the line responsible for this. "Superior" items are just "items", the one we know, the normal, enchantable etc items. NC introduced the common items and renamed the normal ones "superior"...
Can we get an answer from Siren or Alyra on this? If it is true no more full normal drops from normal mobs well that is just bogus  and if it is true, then it should have been mentioned in the patch notes for sure :/
They did.
They wrote in the patch notes / in the official library that:
- "Common weapons, armor, and accessories are sold in shops and dropped by regular monsters."
- "Superior weapons, armor, and accessories are crafted by Dwarves and dropped by Raid Bosses."
You just have to take those sentences in the patch notes as they are, and not conclude "oh well, they did not specifically mention that superior items DO NOT DROP from regular mobs, so they still can".
Lol. Do not tell us what classes exist in the game. Those classes don't care what you need. Those are money making classes and the market on Devianne is so inflated right now, why would they share their profits with you, or help YOU undercut them on the market?
A WS can craft an Arcana Mace, and sell the Clean Arcana Mace on Devianne for 350M adena easily. No one will care how much of an overprice that is, because there is so little in circulation that it can be weeks to months before they see another one for sale. These are end-game weapons, people don't just sell them back unless they are selling the crystals from breaking them or they reroll or quit the game...
I had to spend 530+M adena to get my Arcana Mace w/ Acumen. I had to sell all my Overlord's gear + my SoM to get it. I had to sell my entire alt-clan's Warehouse. I had to sell C Grade weapons to the grocery store cause no one wanted them (they are in shops now) and if any would come on the market it could be my only chance in weeks-months to get one... I got my Arcana Mace late at night and the next morning the same people who had been shouting for one in Giran with me for over a week (I don't goto Giran unless I need something) were still shouting. They still are. One person wants to pay 450M adena for an Arcana Mace/Acumen... Lol, I told him "maybe next month"... When I offered someone that, they laughed at me, and carried on a conversation with me for 5 minutes just to explain how stupid the offer was...
1B for a Draconic Light Set. Over 1B for an IC Set. I haven't seen an Arcana Robe set for months, so I don't know how much they sell for.
Please stop acting like this is some type of PvE happy land game. Nobody who plays this game for what it A PvP game can enjoy themselves unless they are certain DD classes. Common armor is useless unless you are hiding in care bear land until level 78+ at which time you will perform some miracle other than selling all of your buffers'/sub's gear and your entire alt-clan warehouse to afford "just" an S Grade weapon.
Cause I don't see you farming the mats for an entire DC Robe Set, Arcana Mace, Tat Jewels and if you can't afford the items you certainly can't afford to buy the mats to craft them. Not on Devianne. You can almost buy A Grade Armor sets for the price of some of those S Recipes. 55M Arcana Mace Rec lulz (almost 300M just to attempt to craft one - which can fail; some IC Recs 100M+).
I am not crafting [censored] with these prices and how much I stand to lose from the 60% craft (which it too high of a chance to fail for that amount of investment). Everyone else agrees, cause hardly any of those recs are selling.
Have fun crafting on your Warsmith. I worked hard for my adena and I'm not running the risk of having it go poof before my eyes. Not while I have to watch my buffer other toon who stripped for it run around in Karmian Robes...

****.....I liked this post! :o
dude its kinda that way every server though just sucks cause on your server must really not be people. phoenix we have tons of people and gear but prices are still high. yeah it sucks farming things or crafting for that matter. as a genral rule i never buy mats. just collect collect collect and craft slowly.... i used b grade even while i was in a grade for that reason.. 60% recs suck. i've blown 12 majestic neclace recs trying to craft.. but getting the recs from the quest and same for the key mats then slowly crafting.... i mean yeah what if u fail but if u farmed everything yourself your out.... ummm nothing and if you succede BAM your set. but the thing is if you look at a rec and it says 550 mithril alloy and u see what it takes to craft it and u want it now?!!?!? dear god thats IMPOSSIBLE but its achievable.
best advice make friends with 1 se 1 bishop 1 bh and go after those recs and mats. your getting xp and your setting yourself up for an worthy endever for game play. besides u can always get more Mats! the game just throws them at u when u kill a mob :P hit the pick up button more often!
so far i've failed
2som
12 majestic neclkace
10 maj earrings
8 phoenix necklaces
1 doom crusher (that broke my heart)
yes each craft was long but so much fun even if it failed there was hope for it all....
now on to this problem with arcana mace... top c +16 has more m attack than arcana mace :P just thought i'd point that out. again i know it takes a miricle for +16 but 2/3 are good odds not to mention it will be red. but with the cubic quest ewc are in no short order and u can buy top C right from the shop... just an idea...
i know it sucks failing a craft but refusing cause it looks daunting is like getting to see antharas and walking away cause its tough...
your S grade Darnit Put on the Big Boy boots and put some foot to Rear!
and for the love of god dont complain about common armor or weapons. ITS FREE CRYSTAL MATE!! i rather get small amounts of Free crystal than never see a good full drop. i've played over 2 years now and the best Actual drop i've gotten is avadon boots back in c5!!!!! I love COMMON drops! quit being so pesimistic!

Well yes, but then you have the C shots problem (3 shots per nuke and they weigh more, too), you don't get the pvp damage bonus, you cannot put a pvp fame augmentation on it and worst of all you cannot put attribute stones on it. +16 homu is just not a viable choice at higher levels, you gimp your damage output if you do not use stones.
yes but can have good SA and u can augment it. works well for any subclass even if u put as ecliptic axe at +16 can even be used on a DD sub and same wepaon for main when changing. everything has pro's and cons. if u cant craft arcana mace this is a good alternitive. not to mention there are tons of s graders using SOM still heck i even seen a +16 sov. sometimes u just gotta take what u can get and make it work. not everyone will have thier s grade weapon when they hit S grade.
yes shots weigh more.. guess what they help u with that Cbsps greater compressed recipy.
trade it sell it but its an option to get to what u want. just gotta look on the bright side of life hun. have patience... like an earlyer post said "is it easy? NO is it possible? yes" just cause u stomp your feet doesnt make it work. but its a better answer than sell your entire cashe of gear/mats/etc or worse Violating the user agreement and putting cash in the pockets of bots. to which point if u complained about not being able to farm cause of bots. your part of the problem not the solution!
(that was not intended twards anyone but those people who rather buy adena than work for what they have and... u know who you are)
IRT the shots, it's not just the weight of the shots, it's how many shots you need to carry. Yes, the shots weigh more, but you need 3x the amount of shots as notmal, so in case of 1 weight per shot (1x1), you have like 9 weight per shot (3x3) with this C Grade weapon. That is impractical. Shots for a Homu practically weigh 9x that of shots for an Arcana Mace (cause you need 3x the shots and they weigh 3x as much each).
You do realize that people who do more than PvE in this game have alot of [censored] to carry?
CP Pots, Quick Healing Potions, HP MP and CP Elixirs, [Greater] Healing Potions, Attribute Resist Potions, Cursed Bones/Spirit Ore, Shots, Pet Shots/Spiritshots, WW/Acumen Potions in case you get cancelled/Baned
I'm already playing the Pendulum game with the low-weight/consumption shots...
Also, a +16 Homu is like 1.1-1.6B depending on how desperate the seller is. That's like a +4-+5 Arcana Mace with Acumen, or an Arcana Mace +3 iwth 150 Attribute on it. +16 Homu damage is LOL compaared to attributed Arcana Mace. Probably the same in half the PvE situations too...
Common drops are useless, and yes they are free crystals, but the crystal prices went down to enormously low levels because they drop way too commonly. They were not joking when they named them "Common" items. When I logged in after Gracia, I got 3 Common DC Gloves in the first hour (seriously) XPing at Hot Springs. I've already outlined why I think Common drops are useless, and which ones I think actually were a good idea. But almost all the armor is pretty forgettable. Read up in the thread to see where that was discussed.
Yes, they are a soure of income, but is it a factorable source of income considering the way the market is inflating for A and S Grade items? No. They drop too commonly and the market has filled up so fast with them that it is hard to sell them. Since they drop so commonly and are so abundant, about the only reason to hold onto them is to crush them to make your own shots. S Grade common items don't exist so that grade is unaffected by common items...
IRT to saying we're part of the problem, I didn't really pay much mind to that part cause I don't care to play the blame game.
Don't really care about the bot stuff either since that's been discussed to death. Also don't care about you telling me what classes and characters I should fine. In fact that part was especially comical.
The only problem I see with this is, newer players and lower level players don't have the chance of getting a good A set and A weapon like older players did...

you kidding right? Old players had to quest it up in toi to get A grade .... spend days there to get the 12 quest items needed, turn them in and still only have a *chance* at getting the recipe they wanted .... I still remember A helms selling for 250m when a person that had 1b was considered a rarity in this game ... nowadays you can get an A set for well under 100m.

DC Robe sets for 150-180M sounds like "well under 100M".
Are you talking about Common A Grade sets are Superior A Grade sets? Lol
A Grade sets haven't been under 100M on alot of server since C5 or Interlude.
On Teon before Gracia a DC/Tallum sets sold for 80-90m and Majestic/Nightmare for around 110
After the update everybody is swimming in cash so prices have gone up for everything ... a lot. I mean look at zaken, before gracia it was 900m now it's 2b and going up ... Afaik story was similar in Franz and Bartz, dont know about the other servers
You do know that Teon and Bartz economies benefitted heavily from server transfers, because alot of players transferred to those servers? Bartz economy is very health, log on and look.
Then log onto Devianne for comparison.
Your jaw will drop to the floor.
Try to find some Arcana Maces too, about 5 nukers I know are desperately looking for one atm, for less than 500M with SA on it (can get for 350M on Bartz, btw).
I don't really care for this broad generalization of "prices went up everywhere". What I care about is the extent of it. What happened on those populated servers is a normal level of inflation. What you will see on Devianne is quite astounding.
You re actually kinda wrong ... what kept prices down in Bartz was the fact one of the major two alliances there transfered out and the majority of the second quit l2 in favor of Warhammer ;) I m clueless about devianne, I ve never even logged in there ... as to inflation, doubt it's "normal" ... it's not normal to have prices go up by 100% across the board in the space of a month ... most people will tell you it's more to do with farmers moving away from l2 and unloading their adena stock on the cheap ;)
my god i say u can try to make a +16 and all u take from it is " OMG thats like 1.1 billion to buy" MAKE IT YOU GUTTLESS SWINE! and yes it takes 3 shots per but the shots are cheap as hell and an alt dwarf can easily craft them. and once u sellit u DONT HAVE to sell for 1.1 billion u can sell or trade for oh say an arcana mace... cause someone might not have same logic as u.... someone might go HEY i can use that... as others have pointed out there are quests for the recipy's and keymats for them. so gl and i leave you with this.

There is a persistent rumor that a particular group of clans in Teon Franz and Luna have found an exploit that basically generates adena. So if it's true it's no wonder the markets are crazy ...
All I know is someone paid 2.1billion adena to buy a wizard hat from the npc auction ;)

Well... then let me say they could have expressed it more clearly :p I read that and didn't really get it lol "Superior items"

Make it with what? The adena that you need for other things? You can potentially blow all you adena trying to make a +16 Homu. No, I'm not trying to make one when I can save up to buy something else. Doing that can potentially cost more than the weapon I brought - I could even run out of adena trying.
Also, a +16 Homu is useless to me. How much explanation do you need. It's a useless item to an S Grade character that PvPs. Leave your peaceful PvE happyland so that you can see what we are talking about.
I don't care how many shots it takes, it's not just about how many shots it takes. Pull your head out of your [censored] so that the [censored] isn't clogging up you eyes and read what I wrote. It is not rocket science, and any third grader should understand where I'm coming from. Homu = worthless, and you don't just sit down and "make a +16 homu". What game are you playing? We're talking about retail, not some pserver.
Stop using a +16 homu to compare it to an Arcana Mace, and telling people to make one, cause it's a crappy weapon and for the same price as one you can get a weapon that does almost twice the damage of it. in PvE and PvP.
Also, there is no need for name calling, since I haven't seen anyone call you names. Seems like you are persistent on insulting the people in this thread (first by telling them they're part of the problem, secondy by calling them pigs/swine).
I don't care about [censored] what Roosevelt said, it's not relevant to this discussion and this is not RL (I can walk away from it and not have to worry about it At All).
Get it together, before I give the mods a reason to ban me.

if they are from "some clans" on those servers.. chances are NC will do nothing about it because they are afraid of loosing subscriptions - I mean for the love of God, if they were not afraid of banning people, then they would divert staff from LOLTabRas and put them on the GM staff for L2 or their other games.
Nonsence.
If somebody would be duplicating adena, economic would be much more unstable.
Current prices "jums" happend, because Rare items were introduced. Everyone start craft items like crazy.
Lot of materials was wasted for B/A crafts. But the real tragedy was S crafts :( The main source of Cry S and the only source for Gem S is Ancient adenas. 2nd week after Gracia update cry S prices skyrocketed. So did AA. At least in Teon, there was period, when crushing S weapons and tateo jewels was very profitable (up to 25% pure profit).
And since gracia S80 crafts become easier, its big materials sink too.
Now materials prices jumped to the point, when crafting S and crushing for cry is not profitable anymore. AA/Cry S prices become ~stable. Material prices slowly going down.
While some ppl cry in forum, others make lot of $$$
The only problem I see with this is, newer players and lower level players don't have the chance of getting a good A set and A weapon like older players did...
you kidding right? Old players had to quest it up in toi to get A grade .... spend days there to get the 12 quest items needed, turn them in and still only have a *chance* at getting the recipe they wanted .... I still remember A helms selling for 250m when a person that had 1b was considered a rarity in this game ... nowadays you can get an A set for well under 100m.
DC Robe sets for 150-180M sounds like "well under 100M".
Are you talking about Common A Grade sets are Superior A Grade sets? Lol
A Grade sets haven't been under 100M on alot of server since C5 or Interlude.
Gustin/Phoenix have been under 100mil for quite a while...
