looking for a peaceful server...

General Discussion Started Last reply 35 posts
hi, well i didnt know where to ask this.

NOTE: ALREADY CHECKED SERVER PERSONALITIES, BUT USUALLY DONT MATCH TO WHAT POLLS SAY.

i am currently in sayha, but i'm just sick and tired of the potential PKers, (while doing a raid boss a guy comes in and tries to pk me, then when i answer back brings his necro 55+ and completelly PKs me)

so i really want a more peaceful server where i can level in peace, idc if its roleplaying mainly or something like that just not with potential PKers.

btw, i'm on america so i dont need an EU server (anyways i heard those got a lot more PKers than sayha do, specially teon)

THIS IS NOT A RANT POST OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, i contacted NC and all they did was reject my petition (reporting bad users > illegal actions) and when shout in town (ppl usually feel they are experts at PVP/PKing and think pk = players justice) and i just got insults from people.
Reroll Hello Kitty Online.
Ignore Lik

Can't go by the server personalities anymore, those are about 3 years old and yeah way useless and out of date.

Devianne is pretty dead but your going to have people like you described anywhere you go. Dev or Bartz is prob your best bet... bartz might be screwed now though with all the people that transfered then quit. Dont know if they went pk or just left. :(

Try Dev... might be worth it
The guy is a) making a joke post ("I contacted NC and all they did was reject my petition") or b) Not made for L2.

If the post is serious, no point getting his hopes up. He could run in to a pk on any server.
true but in the state the servers are in warm bodies are more than welcome.

and yeah, if you petition something like "I keep getting pk'd, what server can i go to to find peace". Your probably going to get the "[censored] [censored], player killing is to be resolved between players..." what ever that canned response is :)

yep pk's are everywhere just by game design :)
obviously lik is the kind of people i try to avoid.
if you EVER learned to read you should read the forum rules and guidelines:

"2. Keep feedback constructive.

All feedback on the game is appreciated as long as it is constructive. The best way to get your opinions recognized is not to be abusive or offensive, but to be constructive and communicate in a mature fashion."

you obviously are a kid or if you're already "adult" you still think like a kid. because you dont show any mature.

also:
" 12. No “Compare and Contrast” threads.

The official forums are intended solely for discussion of Lineage II. Any thread whose primary purpose is the discussion of another game (whether published by NCsoft or not) will be removed, whether it is in the context of “comparing” it to Lineage II or not. Incidental comparisons will arise from time to time. This is understood and acceptable. However, it is when a thread becomes primarily about such comparisons that the thread will be removed."

so go back to school before you start insulting others.

and to answer your 2nd post:

a) i'm NOT making a joke, i just want to know wich servers are way more peaceful, there is nothing wrong in asking, in that case you want me to say that i was just kidding. i'm just dont waste bandwith like you on post, if post something is for a reason because i want to know INFORMATION. if someone is bored and just wasted bandwith by dumb posts then why are they wastin $15 a month on this game if they staying on forums 24/7?

i DID contacted NC by the petition thing, there were 11 calls before mine and suddenly says "number of petition: your petition was rejected, [censored] [censored] [censored]" it HAPPENED i wouldnt invent something about a company because then i would be trying to make them look bad or something.

b) belive what you want, this game is for EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO PLAY IT, there are people who just level up dwarves and their play style is crafting, others mainly sell in giran 24/7, others dont even level up just play to meet ppl, make friends, play with them. (i even seen people with titles like "dont pk me"
so if you like to get PKed thats your thing not mine

exp isnt free, it costs time and adena (SS-wise), if i want to PvP i just challenge someone to a duel and thats it.

when sieghardt was a server itself (not merged as sayha) it was a bit of a empty place, but was very peaceful, could freely level up to Bg without being PKed, and thats what i mean, i have heard of other servers being just less PK-heavy and i just wanted to ask wich servers those were (before i heard hindemith was the most peaceful).

and to countcountess.
if you make petitions like that then you really dont know how to write one.

obviously just say "potential bot player, names X, X, X, (explain situation)" and now "i keep getting pk'd" that sounds just dumb since in the user agreement says that GMs cant solve problems between players, but all i wanted to do was to report a bot.

just READ and if need RE-READ IT MANY TIMES. i dont post for nothing like you guys want to belive, or like most people do.
I've seen better attempts at trolling in a dictionary. I award you no points.
PVP is part of the game, sorry buddy you just have to live with it
Go Bartz.

Don't go Devianne, no matter what anyone tells you. That server is beyond dead. I transferred there, and am in the process or purchasing transfers back... Yea, I'm going back early, it's worth the money to get off Devianne - don't really care about the merge rumors either.

Spending an entire day looking for shots = no thanks.

Spending an entire WEEK looking for an item only to end up paying 2x the price it is on Bartz = no thanks.

Stay away from Devianne. Leveling is too easy these days, and you will get to that chokepoint very fast. It's not worth the frustration.

Bartz, or Sayha. Maybe Teon if you are Euro (stay as far away from Luna as you can).

Ignore the troll comments and other things. The Lineage II community is full of people who have no kindness or courtesy towards others.

when sieghardt was a server itself (not merged as sayha) it was a bit of a empty place, but was very peaceful, could freely level up to Bg without being PKed, and thats what i mean, i have heard of other servers being just less PK-heavy and i just wanted to ask wich servers those were (before i heard hindemith was the most peaceful).

Erica was also relatively peaceful/quiet before the merge, just meant was a less populated server. And with higher population you get more people which means both more nice people as well as more that seek pvp/pk.

But its still not overcrowded, sayha is a nice place to live. I'll still be here if it was packed or I was the only person playing ;)

And I think thats what your experiencing, going from the server being quiet to being more bustling after the merge. One of the cool things about this game is its freedom, which includes freedom of killing other players.

I dont agree that 'this isnt the game for you', just remember its a game an occassionally you will die or be pk'd. Aside from the random pk's that you will undoubtable face, the relationships and reputation you build in the game will have a large impact on if anyone wants to mess with you specifically.

I wouldnt pick a server based on its population at a particular time as it can change over time anyway.
Regarding your main question, what server is most peaceful... I havent played on any other server so I dont really know but I would imagine they all have similar people (except the whores on teon :p) just differing populations.

Never ever give such advice unless you want to play on empty L2 servers :p

i am currently in sayha, but i'm just sick and tired of the potential PKers, (while doing a raid boss a guy comes in and tries to pk me, then when i answer back brings his necro 55+ and completelly PKs me)

Don't do lowbie raid bosses on your first toon. Kamaloka is ok (and no random PK can reach you there), but "normal" bosses at lower levels just don't give enough adena rewards for XP they give to you and for your shots spent on them.

so i really want a more peaceful server where i can level in peace, idc if its roleplaying mainly or something like that just not with potential PKers.

Lowbie PKs other than bot killers are a rarity now (I don't remember where was the last time I've seen them on Phoenix). But as any player can PK anyone else, your own actions, if insulting to others, can make you killed on any server.
Truth be told there are pkrs on every server. whats even worse is if u are in a clan and you get pk'd and you look to the clan and 1/60 are online. and that 1 is u or even if ther eare 3 the other 2 are afk...

but dont give up. do Raidbosses but just be aware this is a chaotic game. to some people they dont care about going red others it means something else entirely...

what server are you on atm? if phoenix contact me i can steer you to some good people or u can join up in my clan.. its small but i take care of my own...

if your not phoenix might try it ;) just mail me on boards or here if u do and ill help u get started or get in touch with some good folks.

All it will take for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing.

i remember i first was pk'd when i started the game... ran out from the orc cave to go to town and a human nuker was there and got me 3 more times before i could sneak to town... get up and lvl learn how to pvp... how to beat the odds killing someone 10+ lvls above u. learn how to face 3 against 1 dodge between tree's to cancel a spell or a flying arrow. draw them in near and use stun... spam cp pots... drag them off a high cliff then attack full force... :) or just catch them with thier trousers down.

but u win some and u lose some... its all part of the game...

Btw Ouchbackstabbed.... log on again i want the rest of your Theca Set (http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa10/madrid525/Shot00335.jpg)
Zeronos, i dont know for how long you've been playing or what your game style is, but if you let one Pker ruin your day and make you transfer to another server, you definitely have a problem.

I dont mean to say this as an insult, but cmon, people are mean everywhere, they will hurt you if you let them, which is what you're doing now.

Dont let them get to you, grow that thick skin, have fun in the game if you really believe in it, cause if you dont, anything can ruin your fun, just a silly mob or a failed craft can make you go nuts and eat your shoes in dispair.

I recently transfered from Phoenix to Teon for better times, so i know something about Phoenix.

I've never been Pked there, sure people can provoque you, but if you flag back you better take responsability for whatever else it might happen, death included. I hope you know that.

I've played with main, alts, friends and enemies, people are mostly ok, find a friendly clan, stay out of wars if you dont like the PKing and the griefing or even stay out of a clan all together.

Prices are good, market was doing well last time i checked.
For me it was a pretty leveled server. I hope it is for you too if you make your way there someday.

Take care and Have fun! :)
good advice mate ;)

/evaluate
I have to say that I've never been pk'ed without provocation. Never in my time playing.

Some reasons with provocation include (not all PK, some PVP);

- Telling someone where to stick their sword because they 'claimed' a hunting zone.
- Picking up someone's drops.
- Picking up someone's gear after they died (clan of 6 people came for me at level 30 something... I mean COME ON!).
- Flagging on my buff slave by accident... purple = free game.
- KSing.
- And the best one ever was because the opposition wanted to test his new skills. This was before the days of duels and CP. He hit me twice, 'testing' his new level 52 skill thinking his was 'the man'. Unknown to him, he'd taken a good 80% of my necromancer's HP giving me a very close scare. Not wanting him to continue hitting me, I preffered to retaliate rather than let him kill me. Curse gloom followed by one CDL and the newly levelled dagger dropped like a fly. After 20 or so PM's calling me a noob and lots of other swear words, he was my sworn enemy for the whole 10 minutes we exchanged insults. Never seen that guy again... XxStarKidxX (or whatever) if you're out there... "Hai!!!".

Oh, and since my clan leader reads this, I must let him know that this was all a long time ago :P and in no way reflects my playstyle now!
agree with blacKat, if you still want to transfer go to Bartz
Like was already said, L2 is a pvp game. It's completely legit to PK/PvP someone who bothered you, who you don't like, or simply because you felt like it. It is not worth a petition because it is not a "bad user". They are not necessarily using a program, and they're completely allowed to PK you.

My best advice is to find a clan that will back you up, or learn to defend yourself. In some situations that means letting the guy go red and make him deal with the karma which may or may not be a problem for him. In other situations, fight back, and cause them a 4%. Yes, you risk being PvP'd and losing exp without them going red, but if you play your cards right, you could win.

Then you also need to tactifully know when to soe and find a new place before they zerg you with L76 chars. =P

Edit: Also, if you are in a clan/get a clan, make sure you ok with them what their stance is on pvp. Some clans don't want you to go purple, EVER. Others permit it if you're provoked. Of course if you join a pvp clan (when higher level), it's all out pvp and you know what to expect, you also know people will back you up or should.
I once PKed somebody too, i had been grinding for a few hours in Breka Stronghold, i was nuking so in order to be fast i left the drops on the ground to pick it up when i'm done.

At one point this Kamael comes in, starts picking up drops and killing mobs. I asked him nicely to [censored] off and leave my little spot alone but he was rude and didnt leave.

So after a few good minutes of having to pick up my drops and clean up, I two shot the pink bastard and say "Thank you for wasting my time." Nice, cold and precice. Left the guy there whinning that i deleveled him.

Point is, you can be one of those people too, respect others and maybe they'll respect you back. If not, maybe one day you'll be PKed "out of the blue".

There are many ways to play this game. Its your choice what you make of it.
if getting pked as a lowbie annoys you so much imagine what will happen when you die at 80 lvl and realize you just lost a couple of days worth of exp :)

Either adjust to the chaotic nature of the game or hmm I dunno find a game you re better suited to

Hey Zeronos,

By now you probably have gotten the message of "it's a pvp game, suck it up".

I have to say on a certain level I feel your pain as I tend to be a person who enjoys a more segregated gameplay experience. Meaning, when I want to level I want to level, when I want to pvp I want to pvp, etc.

However, to be fair, this game is not only a pvp game, it is also a pvp game whose "prime time" has somewhat past as far as the danger that a player would face.

Had you been here from the start you would have experienced Pk'ers camping out entrances to new player towns, groups of pk'ers erradicating the noobs on talking island only to have them come to the boards and beg other high level players to come to Talking Island so that the lower level players could level.

You would have witnessed people charging adena for passage over bridges (because back then people ran places) and whole clans and alliances shutting down leveling spots for their people.

Essentially you would have experienced a harder and more savage game. And no new player blessing so that higher players couldn't pk you.

Now, for me, I came and only planned on trying the game for a week. If that. But what I found was something that was so compelling that I ended up staying 4-5 years. I knew what I was getting into as I had read the reviews. I started the game about a month or month and a half into launch.

The first time I ran out of dark elf village surrounded by other players I expected any and every one of them to turn on me and take me out (if the reviews could be believed). And you know what? It didnt' happen.

However, I did experince being pk'ed. I did experience being pk'ed and going back to take out my pk'er. That's when I realized that the game was something more than what I thought and that it was worth the time and effort.

You have to come to grips that "it's ok to be pk'ed". You aren't the first, you won't be the last. Just level, get stronger, join a clan or alliance who will have your back and you will experience some other incredible things about this game.

I can't tell you how empowering it is to be marching with your alliance to a field to take out an enemy. to be holding down a necro entrance to intercept your enemy while you wait for reinforcements.

You just have to change your mindset a bit. Or, you have to realize that this game is not the game for you and move on.

It is important for you to "know" what this game is about and you have to come to some level of acceptance and perhaps even participation. I am not a pk'er but have pk'ed people. Is it something to be proud of? Well, to my thinking no as I don't find any fun in ganking people. However, it is part of wars and part of this world and you need to be able to step up to the plate when needed and do it.

Just remember, it is a game and a game about war.

Good Luck - S
Bartz is definitely the best server for you.

now on DvD and BluRay disc

(aw shucks :p )
phoenix and i must say that there is not a lot of red that i have seen that are not red cause of bot killing....really nice server so far. So far i think i saw 10 mean guy and he did not even attack me and in those only like 2 have attack me (one was a gate jumper )
theres many different kinds of players in lineage2, and all of them are the same as youll find in any online game; these are Gankers, pkers, pvp-ers, pve-ers, roleplayers, casuals, and hardcores.

in lineage2 unfortunately theres no real way to isolate one group and never deal with them the way Warcraft and other games have done. the world is open. free of consequence. it makes all styles of play to be equal and fair. in lineage2 all characters are created equal; after a certain level however things get bumpy and uneven. this makes the open world a more dangerous place in which to accomplish a goal. it makes any pvp goal sometimes unnattainable when faced with stacked opponents.

it would seem however that your issue not only arises from the open world concept, but also the lopsided class and gear restrictions.

what is your level and class? what gear do you sport? where and when are you dying? who are the people that kill you? can you not fight back? do you not have friends to help you?

the open world means opportunity to make friends - remembering that your closest friend may be your greatest enemy.

i'd say if you arent in a clan, to join one. theres hundreds of good clans all over the place. let them know youre being killed, theyll come help.

as for what youve been told, you DONT have to suck it up. you CAN do something about it. but in order to fight back, youll need friends, skills, gear, and practice. in that order.

clans often help out their clanmates by assisting them with gear purchases, and buff support. learn how to ask, and you might be gifted with some GREAT gear!

Had you been here from the start you would have experienced Pk'ers camping out entrances to new player towns, groups of pk'ers erradicating the noobs on talking island only to have them come to the boards and beg other high level players to come to Talking Island so that the lower level players could level.

And Sovrath left out the BEST part about dying back then...drops on death. If you die now, we'll all you're losing is time. It's easily made up at low levels (and by low I mean anything below level 65) given vitality and the other improvements.

I'm not one to play another man's pocket book, but if you are seriously willing to pay just to transfer to a PK-free server, you're missing the point of the game: overcome adversity. There isn't nearly as much of that now -- and what little exists seems to stem more from game mechanics than player origins -- but this problem can be fixed without throwing cash at it or petitioning GM's for help that will never come. Be resourceful, even if that means simply finding another hunting spot or biding your time until you can get revenge against that PKer or others like him.

If you want to transfer to a new server, please tell us which server and your character name...so that we can all arrange a PK greeting party for you. I suggest starting with Devianne. :D :D :D

And Sovrath left out the BEST part about dying back then...drops on death.

Well, you know, denial isn't just a river in Egypt. ;)
i remember when an a grader would dress up in ng and grab a train yelling "HELP ME HELP ME" to which you the would be hero would go charging in trying to help them and then get aggro'd from hitting the train.... few seconds later.... BAM! your dead and guess what! THERE WENT YOUR BRIG or even worse your WEAPON (i miss my tarbar).

yes back c1-c3 upon ANY death you could lose inventory and equipt items.

best yet i remember hearing in hero shout that Antharas won the raid and now there be a antharas layer full of A/s grade weapons and armor everywhere... to which i was like.... LEMME IN LEMME IN ::dwarf complex:: /pickup /pickup /pickup

sigh...... maybe its not just the adversity but we are masocasts that love pain..
I didn't read all the comments, just the OP, and I don't remember being PKed on Phoenix (and previously on Hindemith) for a long, long time.
Hope this helps!
if you reroll devianne dont leave your drops in ginormous piles everywhere, and carry a few seeds with you everywhere you go, and you can be pretty sure no ones gonna PK you. mess with you, maybe. if someone starts killing your mobs, use the seeds and make a little profit. if you find a field of adena with a lone nuker leveling, get in the first shot, kill them and make some profit. its one and the same, really. L2 is all about how you choose to play it.

You shouldn't be commonting about "if" the OP rolls Devianne. You should be telling the OP "don't" roll Devianne.

I guess Devianne is a good choice if you just want to XP and then transfer off. But, make sure you transfer onto it with all the gear you need, because you will probably never be able to afford anything as a new player unless... well, let's leave it at that.

Just don't come here. My nekkid (well karmian, after selling their bodies for my S weapon) buffers beg you!
go play wow.

From a XPing standpoint, Devianne is ideal.

From a market standpoint? Not so much.

If you're committed to leveling up to S grade using overenchanted B grade equipment, you'll be ok. But have a income plan in place as you level. Odds are very high that once you get to S grade, the prices for equipment will still be in the billions(!!!) with the best A grade "superior" equipment going in the hundreds of millions...that's if you can find what you're looking for, whether that be base mats (enria, sop's, varnish, etc.), item mats and recipes, or the complete item.
