I ask this because I want to know what is actually meant by the description of Pride of Kamael.
It states it increases Patk Match and chance of a Mortal Blow landing.
It sounds like something a dagger would use?
Shining Edge is my next question. Do you think the damage output of Shining Edge equates to the power listed for Shining Edge???
At lvl 74 Shining Edge tops out at 5479 Power.
That is exactly the same as the Abyss Walker Backstab power 5479.
The problem is that is where the comparison ends. When I use Shining Edge, it does decent but unspectacular damage. It is not what I expect from a Special Skill. In contrast Backstab can end up dropping a target in some cases.
Pride Of Kamael is supposed to Increase the Chance of Mortal Blow. So that brings me back to my original question :
What is Mortal Blow? Do you think our Mortal Blow is working?
If it is, please test it and fraps it and show me.
In my opinion , if a skill states it executes an attack on the tragets "VITAL ORGANS", that should do some seriously devastating damage. I put in a game suggestion (LOL) to give Shining Edge that chance to lethal if Pride of Kamael is active.
If you are in agreement with me, please comment on my thread in the game suggestons forum.
that's why i started a post some time ago.......it feels like it's not powerfull like dagger mortal blows ......but other put me down by saying that after A grade it will be better ......It's not!!!!!
it's like it doesn't get any benefit from skills that increase critica power....
when a dagger lands it ..it's x times his normal crit ....it like the skill crits (with all it's power) + all the power that he gets from critical skills
when i use it ....it's like one of my normal crits.....that's not fair....
oh yeah.....we have more P atk ....so at the same power and buffs .....it should be even better than dagger skill.....but guess what .....again ...it's NOT!
(Finally sorted out this second account! woot! Right...)
While I'd like it to be more like a dagger Mortal Blow, it might actually be a little over-powered. With a critical damage +4 Lacerator, I've hit a full-buffed lvl 78 dagger (Adv) in majestic for 1700+ damage, while I was only 66 (I didn't even have the 66 Shining skills!!!).
On a 3 second re-use, it's pretty solid. He said it took out about 70% of his cp ( I think he had a cp shirt + fortress at the time). At 76+ combat, this kind of damage might be pretty lame, but I really wouldn't know.
I know they are not as powerful as dagger attacks, but we all know that daggers are pretty overpowered right now anyway. If no one cares about balance, sure. Give me Damage + crit damage pls ^_^. Also, like Kronk suggested, add a chance Lethal while your at it!
About Pride: I've wondered this myself. I thought it might have been some kind of invisible critical strike increase (like a multiplication modifier of the whatever the value is) but more and more, I'm think it's just a self buff to increase basic offense stats and let Shining Edge hit more. Which to be honest, is pretty annoying. If it's that basic, make it last 20 minutes please instead of friggin' 3 _-_.
Look, first off sorry about the double post on the same subject. I went on a brief rant here and then decided it belonged in the suggestions section (maybe we get lucky and a dev reads it and realizes I am right....yeah I am dreaming).
Yes, getting a Lethal woudl be Overpowered especially with all the different skills we have. But, asking for Shining Edge and Checkmate to hit like they should is not a crime.
If their base power is equal to that of Dagger skills and our base Strength is equal to that of the Strongest Dagger attribute wise (dark elf dagger 41 STR), then why are we hitting less than a Plains Walker???????
Listen folks, that 1600+ hit the guy in the thread mentioned before me is nice and all, but I am level 78. If I am lucky , I will skill crit an equal lvl target for 2K damage. Wow you may say, that is alot. Nope it is not. It is easily pottable. If we could get consistent 2K damage in a row, then we would be able to spike someone for a kill. But, here is the kicker, that 2K damage is with a +5 Forgotten Blade with Focus and 150 DARK ATTRIBUTE.
I have setup my Soulbreaker to push out as much DPS as possible without going the full -8 Con. I am at -6 Con and I am able to kill robes , daggers (if they do not one shot me) and archers (if they do not stun shot me) fairly regularly. But, I have great gear, I run around with as much CP pots and QHP I can carry without gimping my run speed.
So, basically, all the planets must be aligned properly for me to get a solid PvP kill. We have tons of skills and I use every one of them. I have to in hopes of getting a chain of crits to spike my target down.
Tyrants and Destros get Frenzy, Bison and Zealot.
Dagger and Archers can Lethal shot you.
Nukers lol, a couple crits and your dead.
Dorfs and Tanks, we have to kite them to win but not that hard. Do not get within range of their stun, or you will be chain stunned to death.
I am sick and tired of the same lame excuses people give about the Soulbreaker is a "support toon" or just a "hybrid".
It is crap. We are a Fighter not a buffer last I checked. Either have our damage reflect our skill power or decrease the re use timer of all our skills across the board.
Completely agree. A lot of what I wrote was looking at the game in the context that one day it might actually make sense in terms of balance. Clearly this is a fantasy. I also know what you mean about this 'support' nonsense.
It's a real shame you can't get crit damage swords at S grade+ (DLE SA is +326, Sgrade would surely be higher still). Especially when you consider daggers get it all the way to S80.
