I just felt the need to say that because so many people respond to my posts with "But, your a support class."
Since when do people box a Soulbreaker?
That is a true sign of a support class.
With some skill we can beat any class. Some easy, some not so easy.
My best win so far was againt GreenThunder a few weeks ago on Bartz. He was the Tyrant Hero at the time. I was not a hero. He charged up to me, I stole his buffs, giving me Bison and CoV to name a few. I hit my Conversion Sword macro. Dropped HP below 50% and destroyed him with regular hits. True story and my friend has the fraps of it , I think.
As soon as you can afford one (fairly inexpensive) get a homunculus with conversion. Make a macro to equip homu then equip your rapier. It drops your hp below 50%.
Remember to hit pain killer or sword shield when you do this or else.
Anyway, we can beat anyone. Of course skill and a bit of luck is involved. And, gear.
Remember to hit pain killer or sword shield when you do this or else.
If I'm not mistaken you use the conversion weapon to have more mp and nuke (coz other skills won't be available with this sword) and I believe the idea would be kiting... but I don't understand how to kite with SS on (painkiller would work for 15 sec though).
Never had a conversion wpn before but I will follow ur advice and get one, can you explain me a little bit more about thie macro? I'd appreciate it.
1: you faced the WORST tyrant in history. he came at you with Bison in pvp. just lol.
2: the idea behind getting a conversion weapon is so that you can use the stolen buffs from Steal Divinity. it so happens that you need under 60% HP to receive a beneficial effect from the tyrants's self buff of Bison Totem. so simply switching to a Conversion weapon would lower your HP, and enabling the effect.
Frenzy (from a destroyer) would require the same Low HP in order to activate.
3: stealing bison totem isnt what put you over the top. bison's best comes when youre under 30% hp. the tyrant COULD have beaten you if he immediately popped the proper totem and just let you pick up a totem cause he knew youd steal something. but if he was smart he would have given you something silly like Bear or Wolf. you won the fight cause you had CoV, and the tyrant didnt. plain and simple. ultra dumb tyrant.
4: its not REALLY worth your time to always carry around a conversion weapon. for one, you receive not much benefit from it with your skillset. but even then, totally not worth it. when youre going out with your 9man pvp party looking for wartags, carry it around.
There will be many who will disagree with you and say Greenthunder is a good tyrant, those would be his clanmates.
I on the other hand agree with you 100%. I think he is not very good at all. Yes, the CoV was a huge boost of course. But, believe it or not, our damage/DPS is kind of on the gimpy side. So I certainly benefited from his Bison and CoV of course. Most of all, the benefit is that he does not have it and I do.
What is truly amazing is that people , alot of people on Bartz are only right now starting to realize that we can steal their buffs. Every couple days, I fight someone and they say something like "You have cancel ???". I never answer. But, yes there are still alot of people that know little if nothing at all about this class.
On the "other" l2 forum, if I ask any questions concerning a Kamael class I always get the same response LOL KFC. KFC standing for Kentucky Fried Chicken because of the wing I guess or LOL kamael.
The reason why I always carry a conversion sword is because I have a few hardcore Tyrant enemies that I fight it seems on a daily basis. They now come at me with other totems. The one I have been taking the past few days has been Ogre. I think they are planning this, because there attacks are definitely planned and not by luck. I see there spy login and then a minute later they arrive. I honestly kind of like Ogre from a survivability standpoint. I think wolf would be the really bad one or bear like you mentioned.
Hey to my Soulbreaker brethren that asked how to properly use Bison and the conversion Homunkulus, Spudnik explained exactly how I use the Converson Homu. I use it to drop HP to below 60% HP to activate skills such as Bison or Frenzy . If you are really good and brave, you can stand toe to toe with the tyrant and wait to pop Painkiller or Swordshield once you get to the >30% HP mark. Very very dangerous but rewarding. I have not pulled that off in live pvp yet. I am happy to get the 60% Bison going.
It seems tough for some people at first. I know it was for me. I would see a tyrant and get excited the first few times and steal Bison and then maybe Pop swordshield before I using my Conversion macro. It just takes practice and in game experience then it is almost second nature.
Another tactic I truly love is against the all evil Daggers with Shadow Step. Make sure you have them targeted before you do the following. As soon as I see a dagger and he starts coming at me, I run. Yes, for most classes giving your back to a dagger is certain doom. I only run if I have some safe distance, I make him lay chase. I also keep my finger over my BLINK skill and I wait. Boom he gets close enough and he shadow steps, as soon as I see the animation I hit BLINK.
I wish I could see their face. They stand there for a few seconds thinking you bsoe'd. Immediately I like to hit them with My vortex and then cycle through my nukes. Our vortex is plain nasty with the debuffs (although the damage is gimp).
If you are able to get Bison, then the probability of killing a tyrant in pvp goes way up.
problem is the whole disadvantage totem thing only works if the soulbreaker is missing an alt key or a left mouse button. that said tyrant is probly one of the hardest fighter opponents to take on for soulbreaker but still it is doable people get caught out by target loss no matter how many times its happened to them and now LA has pvp nod for target loss plus SB has painkiller and sword shield along with rush so if all skills are ready tyrant has a hard time since it does crap for damage. Buff stealing is nice but totems wont really make a diff the bison is tricky to pull off and practically every other totem requires fists anyway. If theyre coming at you in ogre though those are some bad tyrants since you can use the defense as long as you like then alt click the totem off and run away.
The spirit of the rabbit possesses you, temporarily increasing Speed and Evasion when using hand-to-hand combat weapons. Accuracy and P. Atk. are decreased while the effect lasts. Requires a hand-to-hand combat weapon
Sorry mate... they got you there. About the issue... I have happen to get tyrants as well... the key is if the tyrant is a good pot spammer and kamael doesn't have painkiller and SS then it's true, tyrant wlil most likely get a kamael. But I have defeated tyrants before and it's not so hard (even unbuffed)
youre going to need to provide an argument of proof rather than opinion. youve given no reasons and presented no facts to us. and with out it youve got nothing but opinion.
Spudnik ...you understand that every totem is used for something ...so even rabit .....will not feel like a debuff ...tyrants use it to escape ....... So SB can use it to escape from you at least until you chose to use another totem ......Now if the SB you have faught ....was using waaaaay lesser equip, or stood to fight, in the same style, with rabit totem on ....now that's their problem ...not the SB class
plus i think i heard that ppl will be able to take off unwanted buffs in one of the next updates...
remember: high run spd + high evazion + Our nuke skills = different but very good style of fighting
yes. qualify your statement that SB are support. i dont understand.
they are support in mass pvp where they weaken and curse they're enemies for their main dd buddies to easily take them out quickly an effectively, their special buffs allow they to be a great attribute to not only other kamael but to the other races as well. Their maximum ability power gives a great advantage to their team on the battle field. In a 1v1 battle a skilled soulbreaker can be outstandingly devastating with their powerful debuffs and unique powers such as deathmark/checkmate combo and steal divinity.

Well I tested out Stealing a few different totems earlier today.
I took rabbit and what happens is this: I turn and ran out of the Tyrants range with in a couple seconds. He got off maybe a forceblaster, Storm , force rage force rage . So 4 shots total. It was easy to pot out of . He could not come close to me especially since my run speed was 233. The damage was easily pottable as well.
Even when he switched to wolf totem, he could not come close.
My vortex does not hit for much, but the real advantage off it is the nasty debuff. It landed and he was further gimped.
In a situation like this, the best bet is to be patient, keep the distance and strip him of all his buffs. There is no way in h..l he can catch you.
Then cycle through nukes a few times. Cast deathmark. Once that lands , use either Sword Shield or painkiller to move into mellee range to finish him.
It is a boring but extremely effective strategy. Whether he has a bow or not. We also have 2 slows with the vortex and soulweb. This is my new tyrant strat. If he gives me Ogre then, I will bang with him head on till it either runs out or he pops bison.
But, in the end, when you have 2 guys, the winner will be the one that makes the least mistakes. Since I have less then half his total HP/CP, I have no room for mistakes. A well times stun on his part could be the end of me.
Anyway, fun stuff fighting tyrants and destroyers.
if your potting his hits, wouldn't he be potting your hits? especially since your magic damage doesnt do as much as his pysical range damage, + the fact of having 47+ con vs 31+ con is a big difference in hp/cp to cut through, + having such little con ='s not alot of cp pots
also spud i did not disprove myself, this is a pvp game therefore all classes must be able to pvp in some way with the exception of prophets lol
the only prob knight is they have 1 dark weapon buff that noone wants, cept necro ,a dark resist buff which is done better by real support. and if curses make a support class then necro and all DE fighters are support too. oh and zerker cos he gets violent temper
Their maximum ability skill spreads to the whole group, pets/summons also. If that don't certify a SB a Support class like a BD or SWS I don't know what does. Yes a SB can fight 1 on1 but so can a BD and they do it well at High levels yet they still a Support class. In Fact BD and SWS Class is a Bard Class which is a "Support Class". SB is just a Bard class with Soul :p

BD and SWS do A LOT more than 1 ability to give to the group. both BD and SWS can traverse mage and melee and archer party without problems.
the SB if it was any kind of support would only be useable by a melee group.
and i REALLY doubt a pvping soulbreaker would stand toe to toe long enough to get more than 1 MA off in a siege environment. in sieges youd most likely face vortex/nuke augs.
1v1, who does that? certainly no serious pvping clan in L2 actually fighting fair.
you talk of potting damage, this occurs in multi-target environments not 1v1. that would be hilariously ******ed.
dont kid yourself, the SB is not support. if it was, you could box it. as it is, you really cant box a SB just for Maximum ability. waste, really.
a live SB is far more beneficial, as the benefits come into play more visibly. suddenly what MA could never provide, is clearly defined; vortexing, steal divinity, curse of doom and much more. but all these rarely benefit the PARTY. the party is helped by debuffing in this manner, but hell if you were gonna call debuffing a support class parameter, then i guess you can call Necros support. and anything with a stun skill. possibly SK's for debuff cubics, hex, etc. AW's cause they have hex.
support classes can fend for themselves in L2, yes. 1 on 1, fair no pot fighting. any inquisitor will die to a normal mage though. plain and simple.
You can't even box a SB for max ability, because it need the rapier to crit for a chance of activating it but I agree with spud. SB is not a support class.
lol nice pic ^^ I hate taht skill btw... anyway, my point was... that's kinda risky to box a sb, coz he needs to atk AND crit to have a chance for activating max ab... if he pulls agro and you are not a healer he's bye bye ^^ (A good /assist macro can make it a good box toon, but it's just silly to box a toon only for dark weapon and a chance skill)
sorry but spuds right about max ability it really doesnt fire that often its not every crit and even with it firing its not very useful only 10% pattack and mattack etc the mp thing well invite a SE to recharge and you will have mp all the time whereas with SB you wont MA wont go off often at all in pvp and even pve its what once per minute or something from my experience on average
nice colours ashley, but your argument is still weak. boxing a class for just 1 "skill" thats not even a skill, is NOT a support class. thats a borked class. but SB have WAY more skill potential as live unboxed DD. SWS not so much.
again, if youre boxing a SB just for Max Ability, you might as well be botting your SB cause you wont have a CLUE what youre doing when you get 78.
1) I'm not really sure wether put a SB into warrior or rogue (since he is in the official category or warrior) but Imo he's a rogue too, so +1 to you...
Reason SB is a Rouge class is the Light Armor and the fact they are more like a Dagger (with a ton of skills) then anything. Yes they have a Lot of Magic Skils but so the AW and PW ;)
Officially, Soulbreaker falls under Warrior class.
For those that wish to confirm: Level as a Main either a Berzerker or Arbalester to 75 and do sub class quest.
Then Level sub Soulbreaker to 75. Go to the transformation Avante Garde in Ivory Tower second floor. Pick up quest for emergent (subclass) skills. Once you complete the quest, you then go , on your lvl 75+ Soulbreaker, to Kamael town/village. Go to the big church (main church I guess, sorry forgot the name. Go to the top of the stairs and talk to the NPC on the left about Change Subclass. On the menu it will give the option of getting a Certification book. You click yes and you have the choice of getting the Master book for "WARRIOR CLASS" or get the other book which gives a special skill based on the "Warrior Class". There are 3 different special skills you can pick. Boost CP (700+), boost Resist buff and I forgot the last one.
Anyway, if you sub a Soulbreaker according to the in game NPC they are a Warrior class.
Berzerker is also a Warrior class.
Arbalester is a rogue class .
Inspector falls under Enchanter, along with Warcrier and Overlord and one other I think.
I knew that SB was officially a warrior class... but then it's just strange that they put dagger skills and playstyle on him. A warrior should wear heavy or at least make a decent face to face combat ^^ a rogue uses hit and run and behind hits...
ashley has a strange disease. she tpes ROUGE instead of ROGUE. and TRYANT instead of TYRANT. always. like the tampon.
don't forget Spudnick instead of Spudnik ;)

There is just no telling with this game.
Warsmith is a warrior class yet his best Skill is all his summons. and it can now Buff.
Yes DA can summon but it's just 1 his Pet Panther. How many Summons a Warsmith has?
Even A Nerco is a Nuker Class yet is has a few summons with transfer pain.
EE, SE, Bishop are all Healer/Buffer classes Yet they can Nuke now.
Yea WC and OL can Nuke but try 2 level off casting drain all the time VS EE, SE, and Bishop Nuking ;)
Well... can u write? then you are a writer... can you sing? then you are a singer... can you write and sing at the same time?? what are you!?!?!? you are what you to the most and what you do best ^^ Same with classes in L2. Can a SE in inquisitor beat a good old necro or sh?? don't think so... can a necro craft?? don't think so... ppl kept complaining about dwarves having no leveling power... they gave them the summons and protection, but that doesn't make them summoners. Healers and tanks only leveling in party?? they gave them inquisitor and vanguard... so wether you like it or not, NCsoft has been reading suggestions, from here to korea, and has applied them, If no one had complained, do you think they would've made changes??
Think about that, sitting on the floor in the deepest corner of your dark, quiet room...

I wasn't talking about PVP I was taking about PVE and no a SE can't beat an SH but it can get Lucky and Critt and Kill the SH but what is your point on that? SE still can Nuke the Crap out of a lot of Other Classes. I had a BH attack my SE 1 time and I just rooted the Dwarf transformed and Guess what NUKED him to death. ;)
Think about that, sitting on the floor in the deepest corner of your dark, quiet room...
The point is... we could get all killed by any class... it's about probability... what if root hadn't landed and you were chain stunned? ^^ everything can happen in pvp, but the thing is that the essence of the char is not affected by what they can do or not, but what they do the best ^^
ashley! now you know that i always forget to take my bsps out my warehouse, your just too connected to me which is why i can never make you (fear) run away but you always stay ;) (bear hug)
there's always a chance of not landing, even with bsps ^^ but was the dwarf well geared? same lvl?
Yea I know it is just Knight seams to be dam Lucky.
Dwarf was well gear (top A grade) and Higher lvl mind you knight's Weapon is B grade with no acumen. And he must had Good jewelry Beccause it took a lot of nukes

my stuns have a 99% chance of stunning and a 1% chance of makeing you lag.
against those with majestic it has a 98% chance of stunning a .5% chance of makeing you lag and a 1.5% chance of makeing you freeze for a second
agaisnt a kamael it has a 100% chance of makeing you say "I'm dead"
