VoS was SWAMPED with them today. I reported 26 names throughout the day. I don't mind them, if they keep off my turf. But these guys took my mobs so I killed the train twice. Then they brought over an A grade train and choo chood through me. The fun part? 18k karma and death penalty 1 because a bot train killed me. For those that don't know, you can't get rid of death penalties while chaotic.
This guy thought the game was his to exploit, so I set him straight. Then he set me straight, and I got owned, and I realized that I am powerless against this issue. I asked a GM to take care of my death penalty and he gave me an automated "go post on the forums" response. Here it is, GM Harold. How much do they pay you?
I am getting 2% instead of 3% per buff round at 0 vit. with death penalty one. This means that it is taking me 1.5x more time to kill mobs or I am doing 33% less damage (lower p.atk,crit,accuracy etc). This in turn leads to getting less hp back from VR and taking more damage because the mobs are alive longer (fewer herbs etc). More SS usage, less drops, more pot usage, less regen etc etc.
The mana regen is terrible. I pity the caster that deals with this. I'm going to bed. Death penalty from pvp death is dumb.
You can remove death penalty when you're chaotic. You need to visit a black Judge. There's not one in the vicinity of VoS though. Closest one is at hardins.
a Summoner could help you out. Both getting there and getting back.
Getting trained by someone isn't pure PvP, you can avoid getting trained if you know what you are doing (unless the trainer use switch on the mobs).
PKing bots isn't worth it, they will always come back or a high level protector will and kill you (at least try).
Training them is alot better since the bots won't know who killed them (unless they aren't afk) and you don't get any PKs/karma when doing it + the bots might get death penalties.
I de-leveled a botter outside Goddard few levels by giving him lvl 15 death penalty (took few hours) and after that the bot kept killing himself because it was set to auto go to town and run back out...now he has a bishop with him that makes things little harder :(
Reporting in VoS is useless... 90% of crowd there are bot trains... some of them eternal that I consider them as NPC's, I actually run to lvl at their spot coz they are so well organized that they don't disturb me anymore. But one thing is true and I will ask this to ALL botters in VoS... PLEASE PICK YOUR DROPS!!! DONT LEAVE ARROWS ON FLOOR!!! if you are so good at botting, destroy the items when you get fat and heavy. Don't be filthy. Also... if you get caught botting don't be lame and bring your 7x toon to avenge your death toons... you are violating the eula so be cool and eat your lvls...
Honestly, there are some bots that are so cool, coz they pull aggro off me on mob that could 2-shot me ^^ I don't even care anymore but I still believe pk and karma should be removed as suggested on another thread to have a better chance to avoid what happened to OP.
You have a lot to learn my friend. PKing bots a waste trust me I know (68 PKs :(). If they are KSing that's great grab a pet and use it 2 attack them. And get ready kill them when they flag. You get 2 kill all of them and no Kama.

Having a Great Wolf really helps with the war with bots but not everyone will have one so I suggest calling your clan mates.
Bots don't respect 1 person fighting for a room. But a Group or well outfitted person that they can't beat they will respect or die.
Just remember that PKing can't be part of the fight. Train they [censored] that's how you do it. If your a Catta Nut like me pick a room that near a room with hopefully stun mobs. Best ones to train. What's nice is after they kill the bot even if you don't have fake death just run till they disappear. I train with my Glad all the time in the catta.
They may have nerfed Training in the catta but they is a workaround. ;)
those are accounts for the company. its silly to think they would ban $$$ even when they say that the behavior displayed is not tolerable. to disagree on this point is to walk through every single decent hunting zone in this game and say that nc does their job and enforces policies. simply put, bots generate more income than single accounts of live players, so why the heck would nc want to ban that income? one unhappy player possibly leaving is a risk they are willing to take to make it easier for the soulless and keep them happy and keep them paying.
i have a 70+ perma red so i don't have any problems getting a spot
imo when you create a new account it should come with a lvl 80 perma red since thats the only way to deal with the amount of bots NC has in game
I hear what you're saying Ash. I used to pk bots in my spot on principle but stopped once the pk count got too high and tried sin eater for the first time. Last night was the exception. They were taking my mobs! I'd pk a player for less, let alone a bot.
Thanks for reminding me about the judge. I was going to suicide for 90% rez today but I think a trip to judge judy will be just fine.

i suggest give me your gear. you dont know what youre doing.
theres 3 basic rules of Pking bots.
1. DONT pk when youre solo unbuffed.
2. scan the area for REAL players.
3. after you PK, make sure your friends stick around to help wipe karma and get the enforcer. oftentimes the enforcer is a NOOOOOOOB lvl 65ish nuker with no buffs.
you did NOT do 1 and 3. you deserve everything you got.

Another way to kill bots without being identified as the attacker: If you are a healer and if the bot train is not killing really fast, try healing the mob. Keep the mob alive long enough and the bots will die. It works best if you can bring a small train with you to beat the bots down faster, 3 or 4 mobs should do it ok. Even if the bots kill the one you are healing, if several are hitting the bots just switch your heals to the next one. Often new spawns will add to the smackdown.
Start with full mana, of course. You will flag when you heal the mob so a remote location is best. Save mana to Peace the mobs at the end, or run some distance away when the mobs are killing the last couple of bots.

could u clarify this? cuz i'm not familiar with using pet in pvp.... use pet to atk them? will bot recognize atking pet as mob and will re-atk and turn purple?
or is it that if your pet kill a player you won't get red?

Without even reading the replies on your post Lik, I feel the same frustration. I dont understand why those obvious abusers dont get banned on standing foot.
I reported tons of bots but they are still around KS:ing and occupying every decent hunting spot.

happen to me 2 weeks ago the whole group flagged and killed my Great Wolf but I wiped out the group and then later the bot leader pm me and called me a [censored] :(
but this looks like a good way to clean up a spot from bots... just carry a strong pet, and gather a party, let them flag, kill them all and brez your pet ^^ problem solved.

only works if your pet is unnamed, and on really bad bots, most have a fix that ignores pets

My Pet is Named :)
It just depends on the way the Bot set up they program I guess because it really don't work on every group. like only 1 in 100
But that same group leaves the room every time I come now (might be programed to leave room when Ashleyhunter is in area lol) so my problem for now is gone I get a room every night so far with no fuss. I just walk in the area and the whole train runs out the room and stays out till I leave. :D
Yeah some farmers after they get killed by a toon they set their bots to go rest when that toon is in range :) Works well when you need a cata room or a spot on iop
I was in a catacomb some weeks ago and I wanted to see if bots will flag back if the Soulless, my summon, attacked them.
So i attack them but they dont answer back. So I leave them alone and go to another room to exp.
After a while, i'm being attacked by a full party of bots, 2 daggers and a dwarf manually controlled, the others assisting.
I gotta say in my party was me (Phantom summoner) and a tyrant, accompanied by an OOP high level SE.
In the madness of things, the bots manage to kill us.
We go to town, return, unfortunately end up in the same room, by the bots' room, but we leave them alone this time.
After a while, without any notice or provocation from our part, the bots return, kill us and even go red on our SE that was basically just standing there.
Now apart from this incident, i'm begining to thing botters have definitely lost any sign of shyness and "decency" when it comes to interracting with other players, whether its talking about botting, showing off in communities, botting in plain view or confronting legit players. It just goes to show they dont fear anything happening to them, because frankly NCSoft is completely passive when it comes to bots.
WOW with a Tryant you guys were killed. With just my Glad and Wolf I wiped out the whole Bot group that try Kill me After I try train them and failed. They stun me and then try kill my SE and I just used my SE root the Dagger and then killed the whole group and dagger last.
With a Tryant and a Summon class I would think they would be easy kills.
There are many many types of "botters" ... farmers wont bother you, they care about adena/hour, time spent killing you is money lost to them. Some are even oldschool enough that if you go hi can I have the room for a couple of hours they ll go sure and go sit in the corridor and wait. Heck I even had a farmer bishop rez me a couple of times when my internet was on again off again
Player run bot trains are less sensitive to that and more likely to kill you/train you ... just plain respond to you in kind.
Not so easy Ashley. Consider that the bots were much higher level than us, that we were already a bit down cause of the grinding, and that a 50 level something tyrant cant do sh*t against 2 daggers sharing their lethal blows like it was candy.
Btw i didnt talk about this experience to show oh how fragile we were against the big bad botters. I was just trying to point out a change of behaviour on their part.

When someone tries to start forum drama with me, I appreciate it when it's good drama and not the crap you just posted. Your thread (http://boards.lineage2.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=1180467&an=0&page=0#Post 1180467)was asking about a server where you would not be pked ever. You then go on to explain that you reported the pker to a GM as if he had done something wrong.
My thread is about being the PK against BOTS and not players. This thread is about the shift in power between bots and players. There was a day when bots didn't run their programs in the open at all, when they had to go to deserted locations to do it. Now, they are everywhere and they are not even respecting your right to mobs (they attack your mobs) anymore.
If anyone needs to visit Hello Kitty online, it's the one of us that is asking for an out as opposed to the one that is taking action. Your issue is the way the game was meant to be played, my issue is the way it's not (violation of EULA).

Yep just have watch your damage because Sting also does damage like a skill attack so you can pk someone that way if they low on HP or a very low level. But with bots just have make sure they not low on HP.
