It shows that you've been playing L2 (whichever server) too much. Better quit and focus with ur RL stuff before it's too late ;o (and... I don't actually know what questions were u asking in ur post o.O )

The comment about the private server really wound the community up, we dislike illegal severs because they take potential population away from the official servers - not to mention they're illegal.
It's nice that you've decided to join us on the real servers, but you just don't talk about it. Would you join the police force and 6 months down the line tell everyone that before you joined up, you used to mug old ladies to pay for your drug and alcohol addiction?
We don't get many people falling flat on their face by admitting to participating in illegal activities (which is what you were doing by playing on that server) and when they do, it's like throwing a steak to a lion. Nomnomnom. :)

What you will find in that thread is the answers to two questions you have asked over the past 24 hours. The first one was in regards to the whereabouts of Alyra and Ornery and the second in regards to your query to my comment on the new forum software.
With all due respect, you are in fact the 'lazy' one for not reading something which someone has already typed up. Something which you already read in fact, as I saw in the "Who's Online" section that you were, yesterday, reading the Q&A post.

Because NC has not made new content for low level clans, all you find are numerous alternate characters of the current heroes in the old areas.
LOL why do people always ask for New Content for the Low levels to attract new people, If they New the Whole dam game is new Content to them.
And why do you need it you can hit level 20 in Less then a Hour.
40 In 1 week Just doing Kama. More Mid Level is the only thing that needs adjustment other then that Just High level needs 2 be added after all this game is over 4 years old and is all about end game now. ;)

1 in 10 posters on these forums is "nice" or "friendly". 7 in 10 are seldom nice (or even particularly engaging).
The other 2 of us can fall into either group at any time, usually based on whim or alcohol consumption.
As for the OP, Ashley is correct (as she often is). MID LEVEL CONTENT is still a need (52-67 or so). The kama has helped a bit and there have been some minor tweaks to some quests but more could be done.
The issue after 61 isn't speed of leveling. The issue is how does the "new" player who raced through lvl 61 get from the 10 million or so they've accumulated to the 2-300 million adena they need for good A-grade gear eventually. And if they skip a-grade gear the S-grade is considerably more than that (can be challenging to get the weapon for 300 million adena).
The recent changes from these past chronicles have simply moved the 'newbie-quit-point' from about lvl 54 to about level 62.
Significantly increase quest rewards, FIX THE GOD****ED DROP TABLES, and develop some more instanced settings for new A-grades and you will help new players A BIT to decide to stick around.

I agree on one level, that the content does need looking at for mid-game players. I myself have many 50-60 toons, mainly because I got to a point where I could no longer afford to get any higher. The cost of crystals and A-grade items are ridiculous because they're pretty hard to get. My necromancer is stuck at 60 as the bone+shot cost is extortionate, my BH and WS are happy at mid-50's as I can still get decent mats and what have you. My main focus is my Paladin. Kama is pointless for me because in the 20-30m that it takes to take down the bosses, I could have poled in the rift, with only my bishop for support, and gained more XP.
There needs to be more B and early A grade content, such as more undead areas for healers and paladins, better dungeon instances for small parties (DVC is a no-go without a big group, as is GC and the cats/necs are overrun.
I'd love to see on the new continent, many new 50/60 hunting grounds, not end-game and newbie areas as we've seen in the past.
We've had hellbound, Kamael Island, IoP... what was the last mid-level place? Devils Isle. And how long ago was that?

JIMI, dont leave cuz of the dumb [censored] responses you got from some of the regulars. Stich around, theres still some great peeps lurking around that can and will gladdly help you.
If i would of quit due to idiots from the community needing to post trash all the time, would of done it 4yrs+ ago. Stick around once you get pass that first layer of no good community-trolls, you endup with a decent pool of great guys and gales willing to share their experiences with anyone who dares ask :D

And your right, its not easy comparing urself to s grader, but i would advise u too not too :). Play this game to have fun and you will get there in ur own time. This game is tuff, your not suppose to get to 76 in a month. give it time :)

Tip2: High population doesnt always mean active population. But u will learn more about this when you start running into the soulless :)
A server with a medium population of players supplemented with a lot of bots is better then a server with a handful of players and no bots. Souless players don't just bot to bot, some of them bot so they can better experience content later on when they do play. They also produce and consume goods, keeping the economy stable.
Bots are bad, and it would be great if we could have populated servers with all live players, but ncsoft has run this game into the ground. We have reached a point where we need players. ANY kind of player. The game world is just too big, and a lot of game mechanics revolve around the idea that there are a lot of people on the server. Competition is suppose to keep things balanced. We don't have that. The end game pvp imbalances that we experience are not so abundant on other services. There are no clans in korea that have 24 heros all to themselves.

nah .... I m helping a friend level a sub and first time bots became a real issue (as in not finding a spot) was when we hit vos. Before that pretty much everywhere was clear or at least there were plenty of spots to exp in.
BordX is correct. Bots are not an issue for new players for a substantial amount of their time.
They quit because the game is so old and the player community is so advanced.
L2 is a complicated game that gets more so (steeply) as you level.
The newbies level faster now--but they still aren't going solo into VoS at lvl 45 or some such.
What matters to truly new players is that they get connected with all those small to mid-level clans (that all the ubers make fun of) and quickly get assimilated into playing habits and schedules and get infected with "gear envy".
If those things don't happen, then the newbie will probably not be retained for more than a month or so.
The game owners have actually done a LOT to simplify and retain newbies--and it still isn't really working.
This set of facts would seem to suggest that the 2 most often argued causes for newbie attrition are simply wrong.
They are generally not quitting because of lack of content, and they are not quitting because of any horrible grind or slowness to progress (and if you need a 3rd, they aren't quitting because of bots unless they are quitting after a-grade).
L2 is a SOCIAL game. New players either connect to fun, exciting, AND supportive clans or they quit. Even those who get scooped up have an extremely high loss rate. I can't begin to calculate our clan's newbie attrition but it has to be 60% or higher.
Those newbies are welcomed, included, supported--it's STILL not enough to keep them.
So I would submit that there must be something else that confronts newbies when they quit.
It isn't the grind, it isn't bots, it isn't lack of content, and for all intents and purposes it isn't the economy since most have little to worry about once clanned (at least for a considerable time).
Now a bunch of you are thinking "it's the ECONOMY". Probably not.
I think it's "time".
As you slow down (now in the 60's) you still see your exp bar go up and if you're in a clan it's still fun to see hunting areas that are new for you. But at those levels you begin to be places where the "lvl 80 players with the red glowie weapons" show up. If as a newb you haven't figured it out before, at that point you begin to see that in the mid-60's you cannot seige, you have months left ahead of you, you are relatively broke--and that it's going to take a LOT of time and effort (work) to attain the end game.
I could be full of beans but I think that is what confronts newbies--whether they are exceptional and realize it at lvl 48 or see it for certain for the first time when they hit 64.
What's the remedy? There isn't one. That's why this game is doomed. The devs have no choice but to keep adding end-game content (and levels) for the remaining players and to try to speed new subscribers past the low levels. That means (assuming I'm right) that the 'gap' experienced by newbies will continue to widen.
The question isn't 'how many newbies can we attract?'. The question should be 'of new subscriptions, how many are RETAINED for 12 months or longer?' I think the answer to that last question is "almost none".
Again, just my opinion on things. I have no proof anymore than anyone else does.

Maybe we need a better loan equipment service from within clans. Right now like DrakkosIV is saying clans prolly can keep the new clannie interested enuff but theres a fear about loaning out gear to the new clannies. It most likelly is lost if that person quicks or disapears.
I suggest perhaps a section available to clan leaders where a list would be put to gethere and show what gear as been laonned to which clannie.....
But the kicker is this, beside any piece of gear you have (In that list) a recall button that you can press at anytime and it returns the piece of gear automatically to the CWH.
If we had a way to recuperate loan gear, it might intyce Clan leaders to loan more gear out, so that those clannies can get above 70+ and reach 76.
This would help clannie save up money and prepare themselves eventually to look possibly into S grade... Either way, they could have gear until the CL decides to take it bck. :) And you dont loose it to ppl who are just out to get you :P

Yea well, I talk to swedish players and they start of on the EU servers. Im not on one of those so I cant tell how the situation is there. What I heard tho is that the EU servers have far more bots then the NA once.

Bots are the meat.. Nobody can forbid U kill a bot. that give some adrenaline when u'r PK. and can give lot of fun when bot protector or another player want to hunt U.
