Depends on what you want to do... they have different playstyles... In resume:
1) Zerker - Brute power... hit and run style with lots of powerful skills... also ability to heal party at high lvls...
2) Soulbreaker - Tricky gameplay and lots of skills. You can use both melee atk and magic nukes. You will never get bored using this class.
I play a SoulBreaker, and I love this class, even though I think a Berserker is way stronger.
Yeah play Berserker. Soul Breaker v Soul Breaker fights are just so strange! It's actually a pretty hard fight. It tends to be a race to see who can get off Voice Bind first. Soul Breakers can remove most debuffs with Cleanse and can remove Death Mark also. You steal my buffs, I just steal them back etc)!
The less there are the better. The less competition and wierdo fights I will have ;)
It is really a tough choice. I went the Soulbreaker route and love the class.
Here are some pros of the Soulbreaker:
Steal Divinity - Steal your targets buffs (awesome skill). It is a staple in my pvp diet. Just like cancel for the SPS or Sorc except you get your enemies buffs.
Soul Vortex- This is more of an end game skill but I just wanted to mention it. It does not hit very hard compared to other nukers, but the biggest benefit of the nuke is it's debuff to their cast speed , attack speed and run speed (if I remember correctly).
Ok, before I write another "if I remember correctly", I have a bad bad bad memory. So, if I am a bit off on a skill please forgive and just correct it.
I am at lvl 78 and I have 6 nukes total.
1:Soul Vortex
2. Soul of Pain-it hits pretty decent 1500-2000k non crit on enemy. I have crit for over 5k on an equal level enemy in pvp. Highest crit on equal lvl mobs was 14K (not exagerating). It was on a ToI angel Top floors. This can also make your target drop target , seems to work alot too.(fantastic). .
3.Annihilation Circle- another hard hitting nuke (aoe too).
4.Curse of Divinity-this one has been a let down for me. I imagined massive damage output with this since it is supposed to be some sort of multiplier dependent on the amount of buffs your target has. In pvp, most of the people I fight have full buffs and full songs and dances. It hits on average for about 1k maybe (again equal level target)
5. Soul Strike- another very nice nuke on par with SoP and AC.
6. Leopold-In my opinion the most beautifully graphic nuke in game. The explosion looks like a nuclear detonation with a large firey flash and big cloud of smoke(all it is missing is a mushroom cloud). It hits anywhere from 2 k damage to 6K (crit) on equal lvl pvp target. It is more eye candy then damage.
What I have learned so far concerning our nukes is that none really hit like a full blown nukers nuke obviously. We have so many different nukes because we need to use all of them in pvp. They all have different re-use and cast times.
Our melee attacks are good too. I use 3 specials in pvp. Deathmark/Checkmate combo, triple thrust and Shining edge. They can hit about as hard as our nukes.
We do have a root (shadow bind), silence (voice bind) and an aoe slow (soul web).
At 79 we also can get our version of Slug, crusher and buster. It is called Soul Vortex Extinction. I know of no one that has this yet. So, no idea on the damage.
We have pain killer (basically a very short duration invincibility self buff) and Sword Shield (30 second physical UD). These 2 skills are very very handy. The reuse is long so use them judiciously.
Cons: Low Con. You will need ant-stun gear at end game. I have the most trouble versus High hp classes like Tanks, tyrants , destroyers and some glads. Their ability to carry more CP and QHP pots is what makes defeating them dificult. It is by no means impossible, just difficult.
Very important: our self buffs. Use them! The 2 buffs I use most are Pried of Kamael and Furious Soul. If you play the soulbreaker I hope you like micro management. You need to keep those 2 buffs up as soon as they recycle. They both last about 2min 30 sec. Pride of Kamael can be kept up non stop , the reuse is shorter then the buff duration. Furious Soul has a 30 second differential. These 2 buffs stack with eveything else , like the prohpecy buffs.
Overall, we have good but not great damage output. You will have trouble versus High HP classes like Tanks, tyrants and destroyers. The classes I kill more easily are the robes, daggers and archers.
Oh lastly , we have Soul Cleanse. This is a clutch skill. It removes pretty much all magic debuffs. It will not get you out of a stun obviously because you can not cast it. And, it will not get you out of a para. It will surprisingly break silence. I do not know if that is supposed to be that way, but it does work.
We also have a bunch of toggle for run speed , dark weapon and dark armor , and Strike Back. Strike Back is really nice. It has a chance to reflect back physical skill damage. Yes, I have reflected back back stabs but have yet to reflect a lethal.
All and all I love this class. It is not an easy class to play, but it is definitely challenging and fun.
I have a lvl 75 Zerker Sub. I hardly play it. I basically leveled the sub so I could get me emergent sub class skill and noble.
I have seen high level zerkers in action. They have a bunch of cool rush type attacks/ stun.
They have disarm and at end game mass disarm. This skill is awesome as well. It has an extremely high land rate.
The zerker has better DPS it seems compared to the Soulbreaker. From what I have seen and experienced they can get higher spikes of damage. Couple that with a Stun Charge and Disarm, and you have a dead enemy pretty fast. I will not go into too much detail on the Zerker since I only really pve'd with it.
I know at end game they do have awesome damage.
They too suffer from low CON. Easily stunnable.
The beauty and negative of the Kamael is that you get to sub class either Soulbreak/zerker or arbalester. So, if you intend on getting noble, you will get to see how both classes perform.
