Good find - I'm quite surprised this hasn't been posted by anyone yet as it's considered 'old new' to some. Can't wait tbh. Gives me time to get level 70.
Yea, Lineage III is no more. As you can read on Bluehole's site, most of the Lineage II dev team are now Bluehole so I wouldn't expect a L3.
Purp, I don't read much (as u do) but I think I might have seen somewhere the info about la3 is comming in 2010-2012 tops? (somewhere in GM's responses thread)
Well, remember, they did say they were pushing L3 back because of their issues with the team, the leak and that they had to spend resources on the games that are currently in production.
So it doesn't mean that a L3 is "no more". Also, it might be something to bear in mind but L3 might not be similar to L2. Meaning it might not have an insane grind or a hardcore bent.
But we'll see. In the meantime the work that they are doing at Blue Hole seems promising.
Coming from NCSoft?
Why gee i cant imagine a customer service any better than what we have now.
On that note, the bots dont exist, class are exquisitely balanced, lots of additional services to choose from, i dont really see your point young man; as i've said i cant imagine how they could make a better game than Lineage 2!
are you saying la3 is not going to be the next chapter of la2? I mean: are there going to be 2 separate games la2 and la3?
Well, keep in mind that Lineage 2 is the prequel to Lineage, so no one knows where a Lineage 3 would fall in the timeline.
What I am saying is that both Lineage and Lineage 2 are based in more hardcore grind based game mechanics.
Yet, we have seen a softening of those mechanics in Lineage 2.
Since it costs quite a bit to create these games and since a certain amount of return is required on their investment, it stands to reason that anyone designing Lineage 3 will have to take into account as to whether or not such a game can exist and be profitable in today's mmo landscape.
I'm not talking about whether or not there will be a market, but is that market large enough (and hopefully not too fickle as we know mmo players are) to float such a game.
What they might have to do is to look at the game and decide if it's the hardcore aspect of the game or the PvP which is the real draw of the Lineage series.
Maybe it'll be something as different as Lineage and Lineage 2, though i cant imagine what the difference might consist in.
They said a long time ago their would be L1, L2 and L3 all at once.
Timeline is L2 L1 L3 No dawfs in L3 They died in L1
the kamael were hunted to extintion and the darkelves were burnt unmercibly by the human sorcs and became brown elves, and the humans became intimate with the light elves and made emo/weak princes and princesses. The dwarves finally gave up the will to even think about fighting and just stuck to crafting and selling, all bountyhunters became warsmiths. The Orcs became intimate with the lesser orcs and eventually they all just became too stupid to remain an organized race with enough intelligence to commerce with the other races.

Actually you are wrong. The dark elves gave up on being so emo and made peace with the light elves, at which point the two of them promptly proceeded to breed like rabbits; producing a new race with the speed of the light elves and the power of the dark elves who finally managed to overthrow the dirty and shortlived humans as the dominant species.
With that task finished, the newly created light purple elves enslaved their defeated foe, who being so short lived live were unable to maintain their imperial racial identity becoming slaves in mind as well as body, with each generation giving into mindless thralldom more than the last. All during this time a single generation of the new elves watched and carefully bred the humans like prized livestock for over a thousand years to produce a new type of human whose strength and lack of intelligence were very similar to the orcs of lore.
The orcs and dwarves fought one grand melee for dominance of Elmore, but both ended up destroying the other leaving not even a lone survivor to tell the tale of the terrible bloodbath of a battle. Or so it was remembered by the elves.
Of the Kamael, they left before the last great war, dissapearing back into the duex ex machina which first spawned them.
A quick google of lineage 3 provides you with links and quotes of a producer saying that the project was pushed back to start in Q1 2008 and will be announced to the public in 2011.
Off the top of my head... It's what reminded me to check on l2's status and come back with Gracia ;)
