well, the trouble with making a Pker nodrop toon is the karma consequence. youll need to farm yourself a ton of dimension damonds so you can get to floran, and from there its just a short hike to the good exp zones like hellbound and Varkas.

Well, not to be unfair to Kain people, I've seen A LOT of Lionna people botting (yes, some of them people I had the chance of talking to more than once. Quite sad, really, that I had to report people I had met before).
So I think it's time to let go the Kain / Lionna thing. Honestly. There's no Kain or Lionna anymore, this is Aria. All the silly bickering won't change the fact that our old servers are gone.

Ethics exist wherever human nature (yes, human nature, not bot nature) intersects. Not only is it present in multiplayer games like L2, but in single-player games as well.
Games like L2, though, present a study in the socio-ethical development in the absence of enforced rules.
Given a somewhat anarchist setting (no overt policing and enforcing by NCSoft), what you choose to do displays your ethical obligation not only to others, but to yourself.
I for one, am not disappointed in anyone I've taken the time to share a clan with.

The part of all this that really makes me laugh is the incredible amounts of real money that is spent on this so called game. Yet the very people who do this will be the first ones to tell you to chill its only a game. There are players who will not settle for anything other than top highly Oed weapons and gear. Any idea what the real cost of producing a +7 or higher top S grade weapon would be? Hell I cant afford to even try to craft one much less pay the billions of adena for such gear or attempt to get one that overenchanted. Amazing really. Even botting is expensive in real dollars. You need to invest in the program (monthly cost) and have several accounts active usually. I have the most respect for the so called noob, pve or rps because they truly are the most chilled casual actual gamers. This buds for you. :)

NCsoft hasn't cared about bots since c2. Every once in a while they ban a couple here a couple there just to show the public that they care...but they honestly have never given a flying [censored]. Bots give NCsoft the most money, not real players.
The only reason why NC is even baning bots now is because they are trying to KILL the game. They don't give a [censored] about the playerbase or anything. I haven't talked to a real NC GM in 2 and a half years now.

i played this game since its inception. i payed for a second account for 2 years and stopped cause i couldnt do it right, and i had no drive to box.
so ive been solo for a long time. i paid my way through college too, but by the sweat of my own brow working as a dishwasher in a restaurant. its also how i got my car. currently i work as a dental professional and service several thousand clients a year. most of what i have is paid for but all by legal means.
why should someone care whether or not they are a "factor" or that they are "end game" ?
if they are having fun, great!! all is accomplished and right with the world.

I don't like botting...at all. In fact I was completely against it since I started the game. I played this game religously for a long, long time to become competitive. I was the first subclassed plainswalker on lionna, first nobless plainswalker on lionna, and 2nd windrider on lionna, and first hero windrider on lionna. Then...botting became a fashion. Nobody was getting banned doing it...and nobless toons with a playtime of 2 months or less were popping up everywhere in the game where it took me a year+ to get nobless with having very to little social life and many sleepless nights. I had OOP bd and sws well before people were ooping buffers. Then these people were passing me in levels...while only loading a couple clients a day and pressing insert on them. NCsoft still did nothing. So then in c5 I started to bot...not because I liked it or enjoyed it...it was to keep up with the competition on lionna.
If loading any 3rd party program with your client was the equivalent of getting it banned a week later nobody would have ever done it. NCsoft failed at such an easy task.
Now as of recently NCsoft has 1 or 2 gms running around banning bots. Why now you ask? after 2 years of them doing absolutely nothing with the botting problem? They are trying to kill lineage2 now. They are attempting to destroy this game to make way for new games so they can cut down on the "population" and merge the servers even more. Notice how they don't ban farmer run bots, but they ban player run bots.
Everyone competitive has started botting now even old school Uprising members from bartz have started botting.
I gotta agree here. The ball was dropped by NCSoft and its GMs at the beginning and continued on to this day. Aggressive action should have been taken immediately with the farmer-run bot teams being the first to go. Without their blatant flaunting of EULA rules being broken, regular players would never have gone that route.

No I don't I still fight bots for a Room at Witches every day so no I don't notice any bans. They don't ban Players I still see the same Players botting evey day and they still going strong just check Hero chat. If anything they just Quit the games like so many others.
How I know? The same botting players that I thought were banned for botting comes back to check out the new update which proves they were never banned they just up and quit. :p

This type of thing has been going on since C1 when Invin tried to charge the server for the "privilege" of xping in DVC. It's not a new tactic in the least.
And I will also point out that they don't have barakiel on lockdown by any means. I just did it w/ some people today and it had been up for several hours before we did it.
