A while back when I was wearing Tallum, I got +2 str, to help me solo better. It was the first time I used tats so I was cautious, didn't want to lower my con anymore. Unlike humans we don't have much CON to play with. I still have it, haven't changed anything, simply because Vanguard makes it easier to solo. I mostly wear Majestic now, sometimes Nightmare. Not sure this really helps, but I'm bored :p. Personally, I think armour selection is more important than tats, to give the results you want.
+4 dex: more run spd, shield def. rate, crit rate atk. sp.
+4 Con: less chance to get stunned and bleed which is nasty nasty thing to get, also you get more hp.
-9 str: lowering it this much don't matter it does nothing for you by raising it, you can OE a weapon +9 or +10 and get the same patk back. Which imo is way better.
+4 wit: Now faster casting Vs. less chance to land entangle or arrest and have lower healing amount. I would make up for this difference with a draco bow with the Sa. slow. I would do this cuase draco only uses 11mp and it's like casting dmg at the same time and arrest, well there's the hate/hold cube which is no mp at all. So the hold gives enough time to get off at least a few self heals when needed. Also +4 wit makes landing curses a bit harder to land on you, which is nice.
Now Armor I would Do: Tallum : this setup +4dex -4str and +4wit -4int should look like this 34str 39 dex 34 con 19int 18 wit
Tanking DC: -9str +4dex +4con OE weapon=pain in the [censored] to kill, but it'll but a pain to kill poeple as well your job is to annoying as possible, so get a SOM and get in the middle of a group and with magic silence and cast hate ^^ works with arrgo to and really annoying. I bet that could be a good reason why they increased the cast time, that and the hate value is way higher.
So anyway exp around with it and try things out and see what works best cuase ima nab and been drinking ^^ so HF
/agree. I run with one +3 STR / -3 CON tattoo and it's all I need :)
My build isn't much different from base stats but the tweek above allows me to target both PvP and PvE at the same time without changing gears. I don't believe in pumping DEX for shield def rate because we already have enough with buffs, our toggles, and armour bonuses. Similarly with CON, mine is pretty much unchanged from base, and increasing it won't make a whole lot of difference. STR is our weakness and I raised that to round me out. It makes me very versatile and I actually can kill, watch out ;)
At around lvl 50 I starting using a +5str-5con which I held until recently. Soloing was so much easier with that tatto. At A grade I also used tallum at first for max dps combined with a dle Health.
Around 70 I got more parties and I needed the extra pdef, so I switched to Nightmare. Also hitpoints become more of an issued as you progress in the game, especially in pvp. So at 75 I took away my +5str-5con and now I am trying a +4str-4dex. Dex gives little bonus to all stats it affects. If dex affected stats like str, then TK would rule :)
So by lowering dex you get reduced speed (not much, still faster than all tanks and most melleers), 3-4/1000 less crits, 10/1000 less attspeed, 2 less accuracy and 1% less shield rate (eg 38 instead of 39%unbuffed).
As I said I am still trying it out.
You should really consider your play style and choose tats accordingly. If you solo much, then go for +str+dex-con (tallum) for max dps. If you tank in parties and RBs get more health.
The -9str+5con+4dex seems extreme but is valid for a party only tank. In higher lvls you will not be able to kill anything though. You can't OE a weapon on A grade to compensate that. Maybe on C grade you can, but I doubt you can do that while on your first toon.
So better take a more balanced set up at first and arrange it according to your game style.
Never used tatts on my TK except the normal armor bonus, With DC -2str +2 con is more then enough to both solo using swords+focus and party/pvp tank with health weapons, i like the high dex so cant accept the usage of nighmare cause of the dex nerf, and no shield def bonus. Im doing very fine with no tatts. HAve no problems at pvp when people are at same range, and i can beat daggers/archers even 4 lvls higher.
what can i do? ncsoft simple cant make a decent top A for elves :(, you must agree that nm is the perfect armor for DA only imo. I agree that the play style will decide what is better.
Some data from l2calc lvl 80 TK + ppdef buffs +adv block.
Does anyone have tryed a 40dex setup to see how it goes?
Tried on my sws and took it away. Used to have +4str on my TK but atm I have none, and I wont add any. Go +4 str to lvl but as soon as u get 76+, use none.

I had 40dex from late 60s to 77 while using tallum heavy and a soul separator. After switching to 34 dex (IC heavy and a +1 dex tat) I notice I run a bit slower but I think I do the same amount of damage with my angel slayer (I got an extra +1 str, +4 -> +5 tatto). I can really notice the extra 6 con too.
Strength is better then dex for DPS, I think this is even true for daggers and archers but I do not have any personal experiance on the matter.
