Why do you have to twist words to make it sound apocalyptic?
Vitaly herb let you the Vitality bonus.
Gracia Final Part is the final part for Chaotic Throne 2 - Gracia. There'll be Chaotic Throne 3 afterwards.
Lets bet if they will add soemthing useful for PPs or not...and that new WC skill loooks like WW:)
Hehe my thought, too. WC will probably get the EE movement combo buff and the SE emp/mb combo buff, then everybody should be happy. After all, what good is magnus if you cannot buff emp.
dual daggers ?
wooohooo !
rly daggers needs a boost :)
and mini shield for mystic ! it will probably increase matk +3214%
mystics needs boost too!
/lol off
LF patch notes :(
if they will not change game mechanics or equalise them ... i will go to Aion no matter how wonderfull Gracia final will look
As far as dual daggers, well that's not really a new thing or even a WoW thing. I mean, you find dual dagger usage in Fafford and the Grey Mouser (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
This looks awsome, and Ashley I guess you be sticking around, hehe :D
Hey I didn't say that!! Let's see if the Bot Button works before I change my mind :p
I hate to say this, and I could just be wrong, but isn't the bot button just a faster way to report botting? I mean, if they are implementing a special team who will be monitoring this process then that's one thing.
But I just got that instead of opening up an in game petition, you just used this feature which would fill in all the needed info more quickly.
This looks awsome, and Ashley I guess you be sticking around, hehe :D

LOL'd reported same bot party in GC 2 days ago, yesterday and today(5 times each day) and guess what?
But I just got that instead of opening up an in game petition, you just used this feature which would fill in all the needed info more quickly.
So you can get copy/paste msg as always BUT FASTER !
Ah and yes they will ban those bots for 101% ! (... as always :O ...)
:(
WTB banhammer
WTB Active GMs
WTB NCWEST

Yea and Yes but the fact they make it easy is (my guess) is that they care a lot about the problem so they making easy for us to report them so they can work on getting rid of them more.
They don't play in game like us so Our bot Detection is a lot more refined and skilled from dealing with them day 2 day (I'm starting 2 understand this part :p) so of course we can spot them a mile away.
I do however think that at least 1 person job should be just ban bots on all the servers and nothing else. And only when 100% sure and no undone. Once ban that's it case close. ;)
lol, dual daggers. Anyone notice now the "daggers" in this game are umm... huge? dual dagges will look just like dual swords if they don't make some smaller dagger sprites.
But yippy skippy for those people that wanted those ^^ I hope they are enjoyed. though I saw only combinations of A grade and S grade daggers... will there even be twin daggers for lower grades?
And the news end game armor does look nice ^^ I can only ever say nice things about the design teams taste. Very stylish :o Keep the good stuff comming NC
and mini shield for mystic ! it will probably increase matk +3214%

/lol off
do you know that mystics are not just nukers?...and it will propably be the same thing as normal shield or mb mdef shield, jealous much that you dont have minishield?
Finally new skill for sorces! I hope this is some exlusive skill.
this skill was already shown in kamael but i guess they decided they will release it for gracia :P
+finally a water dragon new epic boss new epic jewelry for not me
or mybe it is a wind dragon
Wind my friend ! wind .... there was a rumor that the Water dragon is going to be on the unopened doors deep in Garden of Eve...just a rumor...I don't think it would be true cause it is very low lvl there...but who knows ?
Antharas: The Earth Dragon
Valakas: The Fire Dragon
Lindivor: The Wind Dragon
Fafurion: The Water Dragon

Well to be honest, I was never so cynical or unrealistic to believe that there was a time that NC cared about bots more or less.
I sometimes feel players are thinking that the NC gm's are sitting in a wood paneled room with a roaring fire place, dressed in smoking jackets, sitting in elaborate wood carved chairs around an opulent banquet table, looking at an overhead screen with all the bot reports coming in only to eye each other, raise their glasses and proclaim "Gentlemen! To Evil!"
I think it's a large uphill battle and that in order to make it more manageable they lump all the reports into larger case files to be looked into as opposed to taking them as they come in. For the most part. I have seen bots removed as quickly as II've spoken to a gm but that was a while ago. And it didn't happen that way all the time.
I don't use Walker so it will be a long time or never before I see either.
Yeah well... if they could only put up a Relaxed 10x server, some of us would actually be able to see all of this content without having to cheat...
They're taking baby steps in the right direction (Vitality, Newbie Buffs, ...), but it's going so slow i bet we'll all be playing Aion when the Relaxed server is going live...

I'm sorry Grazzt, I know you desire a higher rate server and like the vitality system, but one of the reasons I quit was because of the vitality system. (I think my account officially dies tomorrow).
I want a hard game. Oh sure, one with an easier economy but not one where everyone could zoom to lvl cap in a few months. And if I'm going to play an easier game, I might as well play one that offers more in the way of content. Real content. I don't consider another field with another type of mob to grind "real" content. That's just more of the same. Which is fine ... don't mind the grind, but I wouldn't mind "more" to do.
Other than different scenery, there is not much else at higher lvl that you won't do at lower lvl other than grind.
The mistake of this game (as I have said before and will say again) is that there is no important role for lower lvl players and that lower lvl pvp is more rare (being ganked by a higher lvl player in a noob village is part of the game but is NOT pvp) in lower lvl areas.
It should be ok for you to be low lvl and still find the game exciting. But this is not the case.
And yes, I can understand that players with less playtime will be a bit miffed that they can't join in higher level pvp. But to be honest I think a higher rate server would have been the better solution over the vitality system (making different gameplay concessions for each).
But then again I liked that not every player can be a noble or a hero or high lvl and if you wanted it you had to earn it.
Log into WoW and it's just a lot of lvl 70 players, all decked out in glowing colors, preening and parading up and down the town square while trying not to get in the way of dancing characters.
So now they just disenfranchise the lower lvls so that everyone can rush through to higher lvls. Great. But it doesnt' say much about lower lvl gameplay if it is something to be rushed through and ignored. Or perhaps it does :p
are you saying that they are changing the color pallete for armor? I would say so. It seems that the new continent is all about air, air travel, air dragon, etc.
So a lot of silver and gold offset by Black to really give it some punch.
It looks amazing.
But hey, I feel that Lineage 2 is the best looking game, as far as art design, in the genre.
They clearly know what they are doing as far as art design.

how about you cannot attack anyone outside a 20 level range of your level unless duel, siege, war, arena, arena tournament, Demonic sworded.
I agree that lower levels don't get enough love. But you can't say the Vitality system makes everyone a noble/hero. What will be a lvl 76 in front of a guy in s85? There will still be higher goals that not everybody can get. In theory. Alas you know very well that leveling up in L2 doesn't equal to merit. Some people just can't stand that the players who started the game before or play more often are higher level, and they are tempted by the third party programs.
So, IMO, high level content + no fear of ban = more bots. That's more the problem than the lack of content for lower lvls. But yes, there are quite a bunch of levels that are useless in terms of gaming experience.
If you go, I'll miss you. Safe and interesting journies to you always.
awwwww :(
Well, thank you so much. I'll miss you all too. Though I do plan to lurk for a few years to see what's going on. So I'll see all the bot posts and such but won't be able to say anything
L2 was my first mmo and sort of a first mmo by accident. And this is my first community. A lot of great memories.
how about you cannot attack anyone outside a 20 level range of your level unless duel, siege, war, arena, arena tournament, Demonic sworded.
Well, I'm not sure what the answer is. All I know is that though it is certainly an exaggeration that the vitality system will make everyone heroes and nobles, it does waste a lot of great content.
What's the point of making new content when you are zipping people past the old content.
To be honest I sort of like the whole meta-game that I see in Warhammer. not that it's implemented perfectly but it seems that control of a region is part pvp but also part PvE with the more quests, public quests done in an area the more it adds to control.
I wonder if they had added a sort of similar system to lower lvl areas along with some mini-games or even low lvl only (yes I know it's artificial but so is the no pvp buff) pvp objectives if it would revitalize low lvl alts as well as give new players more people to play alongside of.
Make it so that these objectives can only be done by certain lvls but that if met could affect sieges in a more significant way.
Well, it doesn't matter, I'm not sure what the answer is but I do know that L2 does have many great things and I'm sure taht the players here will enjoy Gracia.
yes there is a lot of new things what makes me thing that this will be a huge update, most of it for 80+, still didn´t saw anything for Temple Knights :( anybody saw something?
Anyone has a link to a translation of the patchnote?
There are no patchnotes, just the pictures, which makes me personally a bit wary what will really be implemented in the final version. For example it does not show how the "cloaks" behave when a character is sitting down. Do they vanish, like your weapon when you clap your hands? Or do they fold up? Nice solution though to keep them some distance off the back to avoid intersection with moving shoulders - makes them look somewhat like the flags Asian soldiers used to carry on their back.
And the magician's amulet seems not to be hand-held but forearm-mounted. That means that, unlike a normal shield, you can use it with a two-handed staff.
Unfortunately the preview site doesn't even say what level the new weapons are or what their P.Atk. etc. is :/
anyone want to mess around with the sws a bit and get me some links to videos or pics?
for some reason it's nearly impossible for internet over here to access those preview sites
Maybe they've opened Kamael subs now they feel there are enough of them in game.
i have hear it somewhere ....
i have also hear that you can make set with normal items (not superior) but with lower bonus... i didn't saw something on part 2 patch notes though :/ i hope we get something like this on part 3!

Gracia is supposed to be a whole new continent....if the "leaked" map is to be believed...it is even bigger than Aden...
yeah all the new stuffs for those lvl 80+ bot trains.
The whole HB update was pointless for NA and now this. I wonder why nc still refuses to run exp boost events for legit casual players to catch up on the huge level gap.
First off, no one even knows what level any of these areas are, what level these skills are, let alone what grade the weapons are. So I think its pretty pointless all these groundless accusations, and comments people keep making about an update that won't come until next year to begin with.. lol.

ill post WC when my inet to korean web pages restores -.-
please do
i'm not worried about what lolverlords get since i box a WC.... i mean my main is a PP and i'm wondering how NC has screwed us PP this chon.....

seriously
ol = btb+bts+dw+focus...
wc = +ww, + some 40lvl skill (+the same passives as PP + 83lvl skill)
i get 2 passive skills and 1 83lvl skill
Thanks for the info Nya.
The OL has needed some *useful* buffs for quite some time. At the same time, the WC really didn't need any more boosting than it already had! The PP seems to have been left behind on this one again though. Although full info would be needed to determine how far behind they still are.
ncsoft doesnt gonna fix them, do you see what they do...there is some serious brain damage involved in this, if this gonna go live, -1pp, hope one of aion/quakelive/gw2 will be up soon
I think my computer is dumm...so if I said this before I am sorry :)
Nya .... where did you get that info? Can you share with us? the link ...or more stuff :)
Although gracia final is not for my SB yet ...since I am still in my A grade, I always read information about new updates and anything that Lineage2 brings....and if it came up .....can anyone tell me if or where can I find info about the enchant routes that "The Kamael" brought.
Hmm i dont understand the language like many here..but th mini videos and pics of it looks cool and shows a lot new stuff. Like more ridable pets..looks like the cougar gets ridable :) Flying PvP with new mountable dragons. Double daggers..skills weps and armor...new Epic raids...new Continent with lot content...wow..i cant wait, even if the most of is for high lvl players =)
I saw there mountable fighting pets. I mean you can fight while mounted.(dragons and the lion or something I dont know ....there is a dwarf on one in a video)

Exp boost events won't help legit casual players to catch up.
Koreans, Japanese, Taiwanese are gonna love this updates, since most of their players are "up there" at level 80+, after so many exp boost events they have had over the years.
On the other hand, these updates are completely pointless for the NA servers since we are still at avg mid 70s because, unlike the koreans, japanese, and taiwanese servers, we have had a lousy management team that refuses to run a single exp boost event and at the same time, they let bots run wild. So pretty much since HB, only bots and extremely few legit players can enjoy these new highend contents on NA servers.
You can't boast about 1 or 2 or even 200 new updates per year when most players can't even enjoy them.

That's Just so Right.
I dont know what is the problem with a single boost event.. Actually yes I know.. If they dont boost, u gotta play more and if u play more u... Not gonna say it but everyone know thats true but u knwo most of the players are arround 74 to 77 and its really hard to get higher, so imposible to try the new features.
Just gotta grind like a crazy and get to that lvl... But just as a suggestion Ncsoft, many old players, ppl who already quit, ppl that is about to quit will be pleaced to come back to L2 if u offer us the opportunity of help us with the grinding..
i don't think WW for WC is unreasonable but i'm feeling better and better about the fact that my PP is perma stuck at 78
and yeah the high end crap is getting kinda ridiculous
i don't think 79 or 80 is an unreasonable lvl to reach even for semi casual players but going past that point is ludicrous
Maybe with SOME new location it won't be hard? Cause lvl 81 FOR anybody now is very-very easy! VERY!
So..obviosly 82 is a pain... 83 is kinda impossible... BUT... there are 83's ppl out there :p
dear NC developers, please give all PP, SE, EE buffs to OL and WC, also be so kind and sell in shops mp pots, just keep the BP as healer and WC, OL as buffers. Do this changes please fast, dont add each update 1-2 existing buffs to classes they didnt have tham at all before, add tham all in 1 update ...
"Sieges
Since Territory Wars are scheduled for saturday all Siege Warfares are re-scheduled to sunday 4pm-6pm and 8pm-10pm."
If my time zone calculations have not let me down, this means that all euro players on "US" servers like Phoenix (where they definitely are about half the server population) will have to siege on Sunday night from 23:00 to 01:00 Monday morning (like it is now, can live with that), but the SECOND siege which was on Saturday will now be from about 03:00 to 05:00 Monday morning (that's for Germany etc., for Russia it will be even later).
No, they won't. For them, there are only "US" servers and "euro" servers, they just do not get it that there are servers which are officialy labelled "US" but have, for historical reasons (like no euro servers existing back then) a HUGE euro population. And to be honest, if I now look at the totally full Teon and the other euro servers which were killed right from the start by botters and cheaters, I do not really want to transfer there anyway and I think many others feel the same. So this will just mean that the 2nd siege at 03:00 in the morning on a working day will not have much euro participation and will be "dominated" by US centric alliances.
And what do you suggest? A free character transfer for europeans?
This can't rly happen... because for example Luna is kind of a new server. People playing since 4 years coming their will be gods :)
Luna might be new, but almost everyone is already at same lvls as the other servers thanks to 24/7 afk exping that NCSoft don't give a **** about.
I play on Aria and I will never leave that server, although I tried to start up from the begining again when both Franz and Luna got launched...quited the server after 4 hours when I didn't see a single LIVE and LEGIT player only bots as long as the eye could see...no mobs anywhere, only bots bots bots
If I where to transfer to one of those 2 servers they would had to ban 90% of the server 1st to get rid of the bots.
Maybe with SOME new location it won't be hard? Cause lvl 81 FOR anybody now is very-very easy! VERY!
So..obviosly 82 is a pain... 83 is kinda impossible... BUT... there are 83's ppl out there :p
not really unless you bot, I know of maybe 2 legit 81+ chars on Aria and quite a few at 82+ even 83 botted ones

As a Dominator (OL) gotta tell you I'm not happy about the changes either. Why should I get something that's been unique to the Prophet?
Combo buffs - great - nice after thought - why didn't we get them like every other class in a prior release? OL = always the afterthought.
Crit buffs- finally. One good thing - I mean 16 million SP for one half of that as a 76 skill? That was a joke.
But WC getting windwalk+agility!!!!!!!!! Come on. This is becoming a joke. Other than healing - why would anyone make a toon OTHER than a Warcryer? They have it ALL (**** near). And if WC gets something to improve what is incredibaly slow on Orc Mages (move speed) WHY oh WHY not give OL something to improve speed too (HASTE).
I would PAY NCSoft to turn me into a Warcryer instead of a nearly useless Overlord. Great, I have empower and zerk. So what.
Just wait for the next update after gracia final. I bet WC will get something like chant of life, just for mp (party recharge). Why stop at giving WC only NEARLY all skills.
OL's can start complain already, because i bet WC will get zerk+emp combo in ct3 as well as some uber low cost heals, cleanse, slow debufs, and aoe anchors with 99% land rate. Oh yeah, and party invul which lasts 1min with 2 min reuse, I think we can make new thread what WC needs more.
Drops will vanish after 10minutes if they are not picked up (this does not apply to Items droped by players).
<333 this.
Why should I get something that's been unique to the Prophet?
Sadly... btb/bts is not unique to prophet :/ (hint hint: the one that purrrrrs) More and more reason for not going to sieges, as there ain't much for a prophet to do with over 2/3 of the mp left after buffing (oh yes!! we can still buff elemental protection!!) just to spam a skill that's learnt at lvl35.
Just wait for the next update after gracia final. I bet WC will get something like chant of life, just for mp (party recharge). Why stop at giving WC only NEARLY all skills.
Yep, I bet that will be soon lol. Other buffers are so overpowered. WC needs more loving :rolls:
I mean, really, we've had all this discussion before in our 20-million-page thread about Prophets, but I still just shake my head at the way things are going. I guess the developers decided that Prophets and SEs were simply a useless creation. It is like a communist plot to make them die a slow death of loneliness.
SE's get a new debuff lower resistance to melee damage. So they were forgotten.
yeeeeees, ty for buff that is on 40lv (max lv from it will be on 74lv max), you cant OE it, sooo many melee in pvp that 76+ SEs really need to buff this, it will be like buffing Bless the Blood now in pvp... waste of mp
So they add mana steal to all summoners but they dont have to use SP to learn it even.
Nvm that they incrase landrate of dagger blows, they arent strong enough yet.
So they add mana steal to all summoners but they dont have to use SP to learn it even.
Nvm that they incrase landrate of dagger blows, they arent strong enough yet.
You forgot that lethal chance increased too, and dual dagger master which adds more power when using dual daggers. Daggers rly needed this boost, because they were not able to 1 stab tanks. After gracia final everythin will be ok.
i just dont get it, they add 83lvl skills and 84lvl items/equimpents, as if anyone going to be at these levels!!! oh maybe one or two players... !
Very true.. they added alot of things for 80+ also require the S80 armors or higher. I bet the new areas is restricted too partly. I played since the beginning of this game and im "only" 79/77 and cant really see 80 for a long time.
I seriously dont understand why NCSoft dont do anything breaking to get new real players into the game. Make the low-mid levels more fun and easy to play. The vitality system is a joke considering the base experience needed and the time it lasts.

low/mid game doesn't need to be more easy.
newbie buffs 'til A-gr, B in shop, 1/2 person kamaloka (well, in some kamalokas you only need to have second person, just for entry, not for killing monster), don't need much more
but what it needs it's more interesting content(more quests, new zones), and some pvp areas for low/mid level players (i know other online RPG, which have level based pvp areas, and i can tell that it's fun to pvp even on level 15 with 2 skills and 2 buffs ;o)
Crit. damage passives of some sort (finally!). Reduction of crit damage (like tanks!) and reduced chance of getting crits (like archers and daggers!).
Some Inspector changes for the stupidly short durations/re-use times of the buffs and de-buffs. Still all a bit vague and nothing concrete.
All unofficial, not too bad, but completely over-shadowed by this...
Tanks should be able to tank where it matters, pvp.
Balancing open world pvp with oly is impossible I think.
Good tanks can do that already, with oe'd stun.
I don't really consider a tank a threat in open PvP... They're just a bit HP ball, they aren't running around killing anyone. Olympiad is something different, but the Olympiad isn't everything in game.
No more 1/1 lethals! Max lethal effect 50% hp, but if you're under 50% it wount make another lethal 50 of 50%. It's great news as a tank, now 1 dagger has almost 0 chance to take a tank down in 1 vs 1. Same as tank dagger, because they usally run away :(

yea, it true, they run away, even though they are meant to be weak than tank (well most people say so i guess) but tank cant kill it though if they want to escape

I don't consider another field with another type of mob to grind "real" content. That's just more of the same. Which is fine ... don't mind the grind, but I wouldn't mind "more" to do.
Sov isn't that a little bit hypocritical. You don't like the vitality system because you say it makes everyone level to fast and miss content on the way to level cap, and then you go on to say there is no content to see between levels.
If there is no content to see what are you missing by zooming through nothingness, boredom?
For a true newbie, learning to play his class. Though I think L2 is slow enough that won't matter. I have to agree that the Vit is essential. If you want to keep up with anything and play casual. Vit system is the single reason I'm returning to game.
Lineage2 is a rowndabout.
As all of you know Gracia Final is the conclusion of the second throne. Now if we look back in the second cronicle the power balance was the same: daggers killed everything and mages were easy kills ....
So for all of you guys out there that don't play one of the 3 dagger classes .... think of what cronicle was best for your class and wait for the same number of the Throne updates.
for all of you who don't understand, I said this: T2 = C2
you mean like lethal will not be only 1 HP of target left, but 50% of current target hp left? well, but daggers will now have higher landrate for lethals and blows, so who cares.
they allready had high land rate ...because of all their skills that increase land rate ...... now a dagger skill will just kill you ......until now: if it lands it will kill you ....soon: it will kill you.
Until gracia final hits NA and euro servers it will be a long time waiting =´( ****, we are getting part II in 2 days and the koreans are already talking about final part! unfair xD
I see L2 improving a lot. Adding new cool content, rules and stuff and its getting always more complex and more fun to play it. Also that Air PvP is a special and unique feature which no mmorpg (until now) have. Aion will continue that air PvP.
The only thing i miss is more content for B until A/S grade. more armors and weps..more dungeons and stuff to do on those lvl grades. Till now, NC only cared about the low lvl players and high end players. Something should get added for the middle lvl players also.
Also NCSoft should make better and much more adverstising in Europe. They would have much more success and much more players. WoW is ruling the Euro market...its a pitty for such a low lvl game =|
LineageII has much more to offer..much more freedom and drama...NCSoft would regret it if they dont try it.
From the way your all talking, daggers and nukers are the only classes in the game. They both need to be weakened (along with archers) to give the game a chance at 'balance'.
Ranged uber-damage in any game is stupid. Any damage that effectively amounts to 1-hit kills by-passing defense 'rules' is even more stupid.

**** straight
Next update maybe they will add Dual maces or hammers? xD
they are but if it follows standard L2 logic they should have the same pattack as a 2 handed blunt and considering the only time anyone should ever use a blunt is pvp you will still be better off using a 1 handed blunt ><

Daggers, Archers and Nukers are damage dealing classes and are meant to do High damage.
SWS & BD Are Bards and Meant for Support
Dwarfs are Craftmen and Money makers and are Meant to make Money (don't tell me about market because sometimes it takes weeks make money from it were a 55+ dwarf makes Millions every Hour.) I Know I have 2 and I'm Well off and would be consider RICH if they didn't have ebay. In over 4 Years I never had to ebay and Never Will. Why Because of the Simple fact Dwarfs make money. Hell if not for Ebay I would be even richer I would at last have People 2 Sell my Matts 2. Bots mess up the reason for Dwarfs not NC soft. (ok I do hate them for the Manor system :p )
EE & Bishop are Healer class and Meant to HEAL!
SE is a hybrid class and meant to be BOXED LOL I know I'm wrong for that.
WC is Buffer/hybrid class and Meant to Buff and then Kick butt with the rest of the fighters.
PP is a Buffer class and meant to be Rerolled.
If I have tell you what a Tank is meant for Quit now.
Why people cry that they class can't PVP I will never know it's not like Some one Pick Healer from day one and said my "Goal is to Pawn at PVP". If it Is Why the Hell you pick a Healer Class?
The Only balance this game needs is less ******s and Botters and More Real D&D Players.......Period.
Sorry had get that off my chest.
Now Who is Excited about the New Update? I am I can't wait for the Pailaka :D

That's silly. The balance doesn't have to be equal damage or kill speed. The balance should come from support contributions. SWS and BD have a strong role because of this. WS has a strong role, but many people have made their own and they aren't needed constantly. The class was due to die out from the start, but when the game began they were quite wealthy.
Every class has to have it's role emphasized. Tanks should be able to TANK whether it's DD damage or a nuker swinging his staff. Nukers/Daggers/Archers should be able to deal heavy damage, but if they can kill in one hit, they should die in one hit. Buffers should be needed constantly with party based toggle buffs, making them important just like a SWS or BD.
AshleyHunter you dont care about pvp, so why you write about it?
she doesn't care about pvp cause back in beta till like c3, she did nothing but slaughter... now she got all nice and as you noticed she turned from a dark elf to a light elf as a result.
So she isn't fond of PvP anymore yet she knows how to do it right ;)
Also agreed earlier, those who pick healers thinking they would pwn in PvP should quit the game now
After playing pvp games for almost 15 years (10 of those competitively on and off) the one thing I've learned is balance is KING for a good 'pvp game'.
If you think Lineage 2 is balanced your smoking some **** good stuff...
[Edit]
Okay that comment is pretty empty for those who don't get it. Let me try to elaborate more on what I mean:
L2 is a unique game. It's not very easy to actually balance it (2 sides may or may not be equal. There may be more than 2 sides etc.). A lot of what makes it fun is actually counter-productive to actual balance (Oh look, you have zero mp when we jumped you. Haha, your gear f-ing sucks. I hab' boss juulz', I 1-hit yo face yo. Did I mention I have 10 levels on you? No? Oh..).
The closer however, to balanced a game get's the more fun it is to play for players of pvp games that champion skill over resource. Whenever ranged damage is stronger than melee range damage, you generally have a problem.
Part of the balance range represents is the need to understand the importance of actual 'space' and positioning. A melee user needs to close distance to effectively deal damage. A ranged attacker is far less affected by this. Who's damage do you really think should be stronger pound for pound?
Positioning, as long as most players have similar tools for movement, becomes far more important. Those who are more skilled at moving around will be 'better' players than those who fail at it. This is a good thing.
Space is such a simple tool, and yet it can affect a games balance so profoundly...
Additionally, on top of the former and ignoring the 'team' aspect of games (so important, its very difficult to understate) damage output can generally be balanced around the ability to absorb it. It is obvious how distance plays a role in here. This is a generalisation naturally, but it's a good rule to start with when your template is basic.
Another good rule: Random is bad. I flip a coin and you die if I roll a head instead of tails is pretty ******ed.
Advantage: There good and bad types. Chess for example is a good balance type. One guy always goes first. There are differing opinions as to who has the ultimate advantage or whether or not it plays a big difference or not. People generally accept that skill is more important than who goes first.
Holding the only possible port/spawn area for a pvp fight is usually pretty dumb (not really completely L2 related. that AoC game was pretty ******ed in this aspect early on... Is also pretty ******ed full stop, but let's not talk about that :P).
Looking at rules of this kind, then looking at L2 will make you either laugh, cry, or both at the same time.
One of the best pvp games of this kind I have played in recent years was Guild Wars. Until their moronic balance guy messed the game up, it was pretty much unequaled (to be honest, it still is unequaled. It's just OLD).
Despite it's short-comings, the basic balance is pretty sound. Anyone who knows the game will know exactly what I'm talking about concerning ranged damage.
They added a dagger-type character and proceeded to nerf it into oblivion for 2 years... Ring any bells? (Of course not! CT2.3 is increasing stab rates!! LOLOLOLOLOL!! ahem, sorry...)
Balance > Pretty daggers and herds of Narutards' flocking to your game.
Frequent balance updates (even ******ed ones) > huge, sweeping changes every 6 months (yawn... ZZZzzz...).
Like the game a lot, but it's a pvp disaster movie. "Tune in next week for more Random Madness (tm)!!!!" etc...
Gracia Launches today, but where is the official info about Gracia part 2??
It will appear there where the other patch notes are (as linked above).
When? probably not before the 6 hour downtime so we can study up while waiting for the update
My guess from past experience, is that it will show up sometime around the time the update is done or after, but hopefully sooner :p The PTS patch notes will have to do for now :)
Have to say that the last update went very nicely, some of the previous updates were nightmares and I've been through them all from beta lol :)
I hope that this time for gracia final part we dont get any restrictions in content like in part2. Also i hope that the new continente isnt just for high lvl players and high end stuff. They always add content for new players and high end content...where is the content for B until A grade? more weps and armors?
The new continete should be reachable and stuff to do for everybody..low lvl till high lvl. This cant be, i mean..a whole new continete ONLY for high end lvl players? i dont think so.
no offense but 75 isn't high end content, hasn't been since C4 came out
also just check out the new quests/instances as just by doing those any char will be 75+ in no time.. don't believe me go read the feedback on the PTS discussion section here..
i hope in future, to expand game map and content, they maybe should make a portal and once entered the portal you're in different world. maybe hell world, damonic world. the map is still the same but the daytime is different and mobs is different all the land mass is same just the looks and feeling and monsters is different and higher lvl monsters. castles and town, and ch is still belong to same owner in hell world. doing this would impose less work on designing newer map.

Be consistent atleast. I read another thread you complain about people complaining about bots ( which happen to allow yopu to level to cap level and get the best of everything REALLY easily as in not needing to play at all lol), now you are complaining that being able to have 3x EXP somehow makes getting to top level easy for a REAL human players... seriously dude.
The last thing this game needs is to lose real players but try to be consistent in your arguments.
hmm i hope we can catch up to gracia Final sooner than later. im pleased that the update is now, but im a bit annoyed detailed patchnotes havent been released yet. I havent played in almost a month now, waiting for the update to pick back up the adventuring shoes. but no patch notes D:!!?
And all the people complaining its too easy to level up for humans? wtf this is great, not only do we get an easier time for less dedication, but BOTS, dont get to use the vitality system the way we do cause of how long they run for. they never replenish there vit. its a punishment to botters. and keeping the REAL humans ahead of the game.
I don't use Walker so it will be a long time or never before I see either.

If you are going to say I'm inconsistant, please at least include a link indicating where I am inconsistant.
It's my thought that you are linking two disparate subjects as to make them seem congrous.
I can't defend myself if I don't know what you are talking about.
So my guess is:
I was saying that people need to report bots but otherwise learn to live with them as they are out there. If it bothers a person so much, then quite frankly they are just going to have to learn to live with them, let it bother them to unhealthy levels or quit.
That's not a complaint about people not liking bots. There is an observation that people go nuts over bots and it seems to ssend them over the edge in an unhealthy way.
I don't see where that has anything to do with the vitality system. But again, this is just a guess as I would need to see my post where I contradict myself. :)

Anyone who reads your post knows you are being incosistent. Asking for a longer grind in order to enjoy the game in one paragraph and then stating in the next paragraph there is nothing to enjoy strikes me as being pretty inconsistent.
And, just because you don't want ot play on a high rate server doesn't mean they sholdn't exist. It just means when they do exist, don't move to it. You and Sir E were both complete fools on this subject. And then to call L2 a hard game. Ha! It never was hard. Proving the Laplace equation is hard, doing 200 plug and chugs is not, it just takes a while. To my mind anything that you can have a computer do using a simple algorithm is not hard, the preponderance of botting in L2 proves my point.

No Ellisande.
I am saying that I want a game where there is a very long trail to the top.
I am also saying that though I want that long trail I wouldn't mind other things to do.
I think you were refering to this:

So yes, you won't really do anything other than grind at higher lvls than lower levels. That is the gameplay mechanic. However, pvp is a bit stagnant at those lower lvls as it doesn't rival the higher lvl pvp.
However, I don't want to zoom there. I want to earn every step. I just want it like it was in C2. I don't see anything wrong with that.
And, just because you don't want ot play on a high rate server doesn't mean they sholdn't exist. It just means when they do exist, don't move to it. I have always supported alternate servers Ellisande. Of all types including the consensual pvp servers that korea has. I'm always for alternate gameplay. I have 4+ years of posts where I say I support alternate servers. Grazzt has always wanted them (which is fine - and I like Grazzt so I want him to be happy). However, instead of them giving us alternate servers they gave us the vitality system.
And sure, if you want to nitpick, grinding doesn't take any sort of skill unless you are in a really hard place with fast spawns.
However, it is "hard" in the sense that one can't zoom to the top.
It is hard on time and effort if not skill. But sure, if you want it to be "hard" in skill I'd go for that. Never said that was a bad thing. To me it's that long journey which is very rewarding. Of course I do realize that some do not like this, but I did. I imagine other did as well.
However, the original premise of L2 was one of clan leader comes first and forges a clan. That clan then earns some sort of place in the world through hard work and sacrifice.
That is something that I always liked about L2. I like that not every one can be a hero, I like that not everyone can be noble, I like that not everyone can own a castle UNLESS they put in the time and effort.
I like the slow deliberate pace.
However, having said that, I always like extremely long movies as well, much to the chagrin of my friends.
i think they are in smoking jackets................
to evil!! muhahahahaha....
seriously....your leaving the community?
well, I've left the game. Apparently the powers that be have neglected to to take my washroom key and I can still post.
And since I have 4+ years of being here, listening to and learning from all of you (and arguing of course ;) ) I will continue to monitor the community and add anything if I can (and if they don't track me down) until the game goes beyond anythign that I can add in any meaningful way or unless they make changes that seem extremely interesting to me.
I still think the L2 community is one of the best of online games. If I look at LOTRO, the people are nice and helpful but because of the nature of the game the discussions are more about what build to use and whether or not the lore is helpful or a hindrance.
But L2 seems to go beyond that type of discussion. At least, I have seen many posts over the time I've been here that really question the gameplay, the purpose of the game.
And L2, because of its community and gameplay really gives the feelign of a living world. Games like LOTRO and WoW, though fun, don't really give that. At least to me.
Still, I just can't deal with the economy anymore and I don't like the changes being made. I'm just not satisfied.
But I still like and respect the community, whether I agree with them or not, whether we have the same ideas about what the game should be or shouldn't be.
no one else has more info than you do.. so pof=cov on korea pts now? cool i might even sub pp then (i really loved that class on c4, but anyway, its not easy to keep a full party with pof (had a pp subbed ee on other server and was not easy to keep a full party with pof/pow even with the ee casting speed, because i had to recharge myself and stuff (it was back on c5)

You keep getting nowhere. A part of me thinks you are talking about a completely different game in which case most of this would make perfect sense.
Let me say that showing inconsistency will not be hard using the following paragraph as a starting point:
I want a hard game. Oh sure, one with an easier economy but not one where
everyone could zoom to lvl cap in a few months. And if I'm going to play an
easier game, I might as well play one that offers more in the way of content.
Real content. I don't consider another field with another type of mob to grind
"real" content. That's just more of the same. Which is fine ... don't mind the
grind, but I wouldn't mind "more" to do.
Lineage 2 is a game where the grind is something that is meant more for bots and account sharers than legitimate players as the level grind per subclass requires a billion or more exp as the level cap is really 85/80/80/80/80/80/80/80/80/80 to pick up all those subclass skills- and the main class grind is a multi billion experience per level grind on mobs that stop giving any appreciable exp for being a higher level after about level 74. I mean if you are fine with having your brain turn to mush from killing a mob 1,000,000 times then godspeed and get to it but I think a normal healthy individual simply cannot find this sort of thing entertaining for the prolonged periods of time required nor should they as it would not be mentally, physically or socially healthy activity for a person if they were to actually sit in front of their pc for that much time.
And of course Lineage 2 doesnt really offer anything other than the above grind be it on players or mobs and neither really changes as our characters can only interact with the world in a very clunky and superficial way; so there isnt any real content to speak of. Killing mobs or players at level 40 is the same as killing mobs at level 70, in several cases the mobs or areas are actually repeats of ones found at lower levels making grinding at different levels essentially the same for all intents and purposes. You dont kill something by trying or thinking, you kill it by having the game automatically kill it for you. The fact you are pressing the same tiny set of buttons is really superficial to the outcome which is more overly determined by whose set can more quickly wrack up damage through the greatest combination of: buffstacking; leveling; equipment; and numbers. Now if instead of making each character target each other character for interaction we instead had them target a stationary non character target and then do damage to that instead of each other and decided the victor based on who did the most damage during some time interval we would see the same outcome. This is an example of a non-interactive encounter and L2 is full of them.
And yet you are fine with this. You are content with a game where character to character interaction is neither necessary nor possible and where content is nonexistent for it is all essentially the same.
Now lets look at a game like WoW. In WoW we see many of the same problems we see in L2, though it takes much less time before the idealist becomes a realized pessimist in knowing that each level is essentially the same whereas in L2 because 85 is so far off the idealist has more time to pretend that the game is going to magically change before getting there and finding out it hasnt. This is to say that if we did the same level cap trick WoW what we did in L2 wed have the same results but faster. However, because the classes in WoW are less overspecialized around pressing a few buttons, we cannot simply hold the same non-interaction contests to determine victors outside of pve interactions. This stems from the fact that levels and gear are both easy to get; there is less ability to stack buffs, and most classes have more dimensions to act within. Most people who have played WoW can think of many instances where in a pvp interaction they know that if they had done something differently they could have given themselves the ability to try to change the outcome of that pvp interaction, these instances where we have a definite interactive encounter. While this isnt necessarily content per se, it is certainly more stimulating than a million non-interactive encounters.
And you are not fine with this. You believe that a game which boasts an environment where character to character interaction is both necessary and possible must have content.
So if we are to believe you, we must conclude that you want a game where you do nothing, can do nothing, where your doing nothing is non-essential for what happens in this game as it determined by who can do the most automated nothing and where there is not a lot of nothing to do when you want something to do during your long bouts of nothing. Yes Sovrath I completely see where you are not being inconsistent as you have made it clear what you dont want and what you dont want is something for if given something you would need something to accompany it.
And maybe, just maybe, I could see where you would have a point if this were the witty concept of comparing the nothing between suns to the lack of proper food between Oxford and Birmingham.
If the lethal work no more when player is less then 50%.....dagguer power will be realy decrease,no more chance to win in pvp Vs a heavy armor.Lethal was the only true chance to down a gladiator and other heavy class...we have less hp,less p.def so what ?glad, archer, mage can 3 shot a daguer type .... well tell me if i am wrong but on gracia final daguer will be very weak

what do you mean by no chance ...you still take down 50 % of his MAX(not curent) HP ....more of what you get higher chance to land your blows.....wich deal a lot of damage(too much i think) you will be invisible at 81, even if you get super nerf for stats .....only archers will see you and in a range I suppose, so backstab ftw, and shadow step get's you at the target's back(where you like to be the most).
yes ....dagger classes have been nerfed.
wondering if the prophecy update was NCKR initiative or our QQing here forced NCNA a to suggest such changes to NCKR, cuz i cant believe NCKR did something what makes a sense

Once again "no" Ellisande. The real problem here is that you are trying to evaluate what I am saying based upon what you feel is important.
It has nothign to do with "being inconsistant" and eveything to do with the fact that what I enjoy about L2 and "how" (which is going to be the key word here) is so far off from what you consider entertaining that you are not willing to entertain the possibility that one can look at L2 in a different way than you do.
It's really very simple. You can either take me at my word or not, i don't care as it was my money and I spent it willingly and enjoyed the game the way I wanted to.
So first off, the grind. This is your biggest issue becuase you view gameplay in a way where anything you are doing should lead to a certain type of fun. Because of this killing "x" mob the one millionth time cannot possibly be fun because it's the same experience every time (for the most part).
However I don't view it in such small chunks. I am completely immune to the grind because of how I grind. It is not about gameplay but it is about relaxing to me. So I get a good beer or wine (or coffee if it's in the morning), queue up a variety of different types of music and just relax while I grind. The grind sets up a sort of relaxing rhythm and it's very soothing.
You may not find this worth your time or worth your while but I do. There is no brain turning to mush because while I'm relaxing I am listening to good music and enjoying the entirety of the experience. Surely even you can get that this is one way for a person to enjoy their time no? This is how I have mitigated the grind and turned it into an enjoyable pastime.
And that is why you cannot wrap your mind around why this paragraph is NOT inconsistant.
I want a hard game. Oh sure, one with an easier economy but not one where
everyone could zoom to lvl cap in a few months.
I want long leveling I don't like earning money though. I enjoy the long leveling curve and have found a way to make it interesting as I said above.
And if I'm going to play an
easier game, I might as well play one that offers more in the way of content.
Real content. I don't consider another field with another type of mob to grind
"real" content. That's just more of the same. Which is fine ... don't mind the
grind, but I wouldn't mind "more" to do.
Meaning that the grind is it's own type of gameplay. If I am going to zoom to level cap in a game thne that pretty much takes away from the mode of play that I have developed over the years.
So now we have the pvp and not much else. Well, I like PvP but I have also discovered that I like quests as well. L2 quests are horrible to my sensitivities and I just won't do them anymore. So if I am going to play a game where the leveling is not really a thing then there has to be other stuff to do.
Call it what you will but this is how I enjoy playing. I was never under the idea that I had to fit under what you considered enjoyable. And since I consider myself "my own person" I feel that I can make my own decisions regardless of whether or not they fall under what you consider valuable gameplay.
I also listen to atonal and 12 tone music as well but I never really have to explain why. I never have to argue that I am a composer and listen to and love good music but because I listen to 12 tone/atonal then I am inconsistant because I am challenged on the merit of that being "music".
So you don't value or like what I get out of the game? Fine. But it is what it is and I have enjoyed the people in L2 very much, I have enjoyed the sieges, the clan wars and "yes" the long long grind.
I have not enjoyed the economy.
I cannot put it any plainer than that.
oh, and to this:
And you are not fine with this. You believe that a game which boasts an environment where character to character interaction is both necessary and possible must have content.
Once again "no". It must have something that I consider enjoyable in the way that I choose to play it.
So with WoW, I have played it since day 1. But not consistently. And because of this I only have a lvl 35 character. I log into WoW for very short amounts of time, enjoy the few quests that I do and then log off.
So what is apparent here is that my enjoyment of these games doesn't really coincide exactly with how other people enjoy them. That's fine by me.
well sovrath i can say i know at least one person on the other end of the spectrum. i know someone who DOES enjoy the economy and earning money, and hates quests.
in all mmos.
godd luck in whatever you decide to play next man. you did a helluva job in L2.

Another update by NCSoft to promote botting. Lets give all new things to much higher lvls so the heros and high lvl toons that never get caught botting can bot some more. Good job NC.

They keep adding content for levels that are out of reach of most L2 players. At least NA/Europe.
Then again NA/Europe is not all that relevant, probably in Korean servers most people are 85ish.
Most mmorpgs concentrate in their addons on new stuff for end game but in the case of L2 where the game was and still is lacking in content across the board... it's kind of ******ed (not cutting corners here, that's calling it to its face).
Anyway, the few people 85ish on NA/Europe servers will enjoy the new skillz/stuff.

that is because they consider the early-mid level game fleshed out, balanced and essentially complete. I happen to concur.

You say that now, but if they don't add in higher level content, what is the point of leveling then? I mean, when HB first come out... How impossible was that? Look at it now...
Back in the day, I never expected to hit 75 in the game. Then it was never hitting Noble. Then it was Never getting hero. Never getting 78, 79 or 80... Things will happen, and they make it easier and easier as time goes by. Just because it looks way out right now, dosen't mean we will be having this same conversation a year from now.
Are you people serious? When they added all sub 76 skills (vanguard, inquisitor, combo buffs.. just to name a few, there are tons more) that was helping lower levels. When they added the super XP from FoD, VoS, ect... that helps low levels (go kill a mob at FG, then kill one the same level at FoD and you will understand). When they nerfed the XP from 1-78, that was a boost for low levels. Vitality was a boost for low levels (again, get level 4 vitality on a 40, then get it on an 80. You can go all day on a 40 with that vitality, where at the 80 will run out in a couple buff rounds). Even added 76+ skills was a boost for low levels, because the high levels at the time had to pay more SP than the people that got it later. You guys have got tons of stuff, I think I'm entitled to one new spell for my 4 years of playing, thanks.

Yes they added those places, but forgot to adjust existing ones to match fod/vos.... Lol they even removed TP's to Cemetary/FG from aden.
2. Sub Skills were a perk to make people level more subs and thus play the game longer and thus pay more money to NCSoft. It's a time sink. A carrot on a stick, if that makes a good analogy. The 65 and 70 skills are LOL. They make you level subs to 75/80 for the really useful ones.
3. VoS and FoD aren't super XP. VoS and FoD are moderately difficult XP zones with good Risk/Reward balance. VoS and FoD are opposite of places like Swamp or Screams and Stakato nest. If the Risk/Reward isn't balanced, people will only go to XP at a spot when they are botting, doing a quest (Shrine/BS), or need a spoil/drop of the mobs there (Beast Farm).
4. A level 40 toon cannot XP all day on Vitality level 4 (I know since I've recently leveled a level 40 toon). The only way you'll do that is if you're in a group and take some liberal breaks. That goes for all levels. The reason why a level 80 doesn't get much from Vitality is becasue they get more XP/mob. A level 40 hunting in AI is probably getting ~16k XP a mob. A level 76 hunting at Hot Springs is getting about 66k+ a mob.
5. Nerfing the XP from 1-78... That wasn't a boost, that was a rebalancing, like the rebalancing of SP cost of S Grade skills. Did nothing to help low levels, and they only rebalanced levels 76-78, not 1-75... When that change came through I was level 74 and very excited until I found out it didn't apply to me at that time.
6. Combo buffs add anything to the game. They did give some buffs to classes that didn't have them, but that is nothing game-changing, IMO. They changed the Songs/Dances to go to other bar which pretty much eliminated the only factorable benefit of Combo Buffs. Before combo buffs, you could still get all of those buffs from buffers... They last longer, so what. If you have your own buffers, or group with life buffers, the duration is non-factor.
7. Rebalancing the SP costs was needed when they added more S Grade skills. A Character not overhitting gainst about 20% of the XP in a level in SP. If a skill costs too much and you add other skills in the same level, the SP cost needs to be rebalanced so that players don't have to XP for months to get a skill they should have had nearly enough SP to get when they dinged. That was rebalancing, not help for new players. They still need to gain near the same amount of SP to get their skills.
Inquisitor/Vanguard were boosts, I agree. Inquisitor moreso for 1 class than the whole bunch, since soloing a non-rechargeable Caster class/nuker with no +INT tatoo is like sticking nails through you eyeballs.
All of this is overstated. The only people NCSoft made things easier for were high level players. They did this by rebalancing the SP Cost for skills (if you skip some, you will have extra SP to OE skills) and lowering the SP requirement for 76-78.
For lower levels, NCSoft gave... Clan Oath Armor and Newbie buffs. I would say common and luxury shop armor too, but that helps higher level players just as much.
If you wanted to "stay on target" you wouldn't have replied. I have no problem going off topic though.
1. Then that is pretty sad
2. The 80 transforms pretty much suck. The 75 skills are pretty good, depending on which one you get. Oh, and by the way, new players level their subclass once for the skills they want, I have to level mine twice... once before subclass skills, then I get to delete it and make a new one with the skill I want.
3. VoS and FoD are harder, yes. When I leveled, it was easy. There was no risk/reward balance. It was no risk, and no reward only. Now: If FG is too easy and gives bad XP, go to FoG. Then: If FG is too easy and gives bad XP... too bad?
4. I mean you can XP a long time from 4->0 on a 40 than on an 80. In fact, it takes me about 1 hour to use a vitality pop, and I don't really get that good of XP anymore. I remember my 5x SwS taking hours to lose vitality... getting many levels before it would be gone. Think about it this way... you are right, 66k XP per mob will drain vitality faster than 16k XP per, that is obvious. But mob kill speed isn't slower at low levels (in some cases, faster than high levels). If a low level player can kill more mobs before his vitality goes, they get more out of it than me, plain and simple.
5. Nerfing XP helps those low levels get up to the high players. I spend 3 months doing 2 levels, and they spend 2. That helps them catch up, obviously. Also, if you make a SpS right now, get to 80, and get all the skills, you will use less SP than me. I'm glad they rebalanced the SP costs, they forgot to refund the spent SP for players that were already there.
6. Combo buffs was an example, I'm not about to go through the list of skills and see what was added. I can say things like aura bolt, aura flash, change to seed of water and fusion spells, aqua splash, are just a few examples from my class. SpS didn't need that much as far as 76- skills go, so that is just a small few. The fusion spells are kind of nice, aqua splash is a good aoe, seed of water is AWESOME before S grade, and aura flash is decent. I didn't have those when I leveled.
7. Wrong wrong wrong. Proof? Ok, you got it. When I hit 78, my skills were: Arcane chaos(32m), arcane power(32m). When you hit 78 now, your skills are: arcane chaos(21.34m), arcane power(21.34m), arcane roar(21.34m). For me, I got arcane chaos(32m), arcane power(32m), arcane roar(later, for 21.34m)... total spent = 85.34m. Someone that hits 78 now will get arcane chaos(21.34m), arcane power(21.34m), arcane roar(21.34m)... total spent = 64.02m. That is OVER 20 million more SP I spent on ONE skill set.
Honestly, new player get some things, and old players get some things... I think it is about equal, but one thing new players don't get, is wasted time. You don't get shafted on things like I just explained... yet. When you get up to 76 and higher, you will be right back here, getting mad at all the new players complaining, and pretty much writing the same thing I did.
As a side note, don't get arcane chaos, seriously. It's really bad.
all the uber xp skills or available buffs in the world doesnt change the fact that you still need to invest TIME in exping. if you log on for an hr, do a buffround worth of killing, see no clannies on or have 100 items to sell then you might as well be level 1. the ONLY complaint i have EVER seen that was valid regarding the game in any respect was TIME. you just never seem to have enough of it. whether that be from buffs not lasting long enough (think dances and Prophecies) to the ridiculous requirement of some quests that need thousands of items at 1 in 3 rate per kill. thats insane. thats too much time investment from someone that cant give more than an hr a day. hey, theres even some of us that give 2 hrs a week. (yes i said week).
I agree and disagree with you on some things, and most of your points are good; so, I won't try to debate them since that only makes me look a bit uncivil. But I wanted to comment on this:

Remember that Level 76 and 77 are shorter than they used to be, so you actually get less SP in those levels these days than you got back in the day. The SP costs are balanced now.
More Skills in 77 and 78 than they used to be, with shorter levels and lower SP requirements.
You gain less SP per level and spend it on more skills.
The SP requirements were simply dropped to make room for adding skills in those levels.
Some classes have more skills than a Mystic Muse. For example, Soultakers have 3 skills at 76 and 4 skills at 77/78 along with their two level 80 skills (60M SP more than a MM's 3 79 Skills).

Oh, that's more than correct. But don't play these types of games if you don't have time to invest in them. MMOs have traditionally required lots of time investment (think EverQuest, DAoC [esp. Trials of Atlantis]). WoW has babied a lot of people. They go play WoW or hear about people getting 70 in 36 hours in WoW and expect that all games should give them progression on a silver platter.
The time investment for this game is a much smaller problem than the actual lack of interaction the game encourages.
They come out with more quests, for solo characters, and group quests with 1 day lockouts.
You actually level slower in a mixed group than solo - unless it's an uber pwnzor FoTM group.
all the uber xp skills or available buffs in the world doesnt change the fact that you still need to invest TIME in exping. if you log on for an hr, do a buffround worth of killing, see no clannies on or have 100 items to sell then you might as well be level 1. the ONLY complaint i have EVER seen that was valid regarding the game in any respect was TIME. you just never seem to have enough of it. whether that be from buffs not lasting long enough (think dances and Prophecies) to the ridiculous requirement of some quests that need thousands of items at 1 in 3 rate per kill. thats insane. thats too much time investment from someone that cant give more than an hr a day. hey, theres even some of us that give 2 hrs a week. (yes i said week).
Yeah, that's it. Most of it anyway.
In any case I wish they'd add more incentive to grinding, the fact that it is mind numbing hasn't changed. It became easier ? Yes, less mind numbing ? Barely.
Anyway, I agree that you need as much end game content as possible to have something to look forward too (end game becomes further and further away anyway..), I just wish the road to that "end game" would become more fun, riddled with stuff to do besides 98% grind :). Fortress runs, raids and sieges are not on that road, not really anyway.
I have some confidence in the creativity of the new team incharge of L2, and there's alot of life left in it or so I believe, I'll give it my vote of confidence still... :S.
