Dear Sayha Citizens, (if you can even call yourself that)
Do you come home from a long day of hard work listening to your boss scream his/her head off because you just aren't cutting it with your performance? Have you ever walked in on your girlfriend getting porked by some Filipino male model? Is your life just not as spectacular as mine? I'm sure most of you come home wanting to get away from it all, so you log in Lineage II. But honestly, are you that much of a sad individual that regardless of the pathetic life you live in, you come on a video game living in a sad and monotonous world? Why haven't you made better use of your time?
So, with that said, what were about to do here will change your life, whether it be online or in real life. In a video game like this, there are only two types of people - People who fight, and people who give up. As you can see, we've gotten a pretty good idea on which category most people placed theirselves in, but this is where we draw the line.
Starting today, people will die. Things are going to change. We've spent the last 48 hours figuring out a set of rules that will not only benefit us, but ressurect this server:
1) Everyone must have at least one Orichalcum when hunting in IoP. When ran up to, you will be asked to link and sell all Orichalcum you have for a set price which would be more than reasonable. Failure to comply will result in death and utter humility.
2) Server is not allowed to hunt in the following areas without making ammends with the Nova members that control it:
Nova's Tomb, Kagan's Temple, Novabound, Isle of Lilly, Chronatic Island.
3) Non Class Specific Olympiad dates will be set every other 5th day of the month. Failure to get a count during those hours will result in killing en masse. We will do so by sweeping 1 random spot (killing both bots and people) for every 30mins during the specified Olympiad days that we dont get a count.
4) if someone gets hero and does not have a nova tag then they are to provide nova with 2 ews or the equivalent in NGP's. I do not need to explain what will happen if you decide not to comply.
5) Server is not allowed to kill any RB above lvl 72.
6) Server is to sell Fire stones for 8mil per. Choose to sell for any higher and IoP will be purged.
7) Hero shouts from now on cost 500k each. if the name is hard to type then it will go up to 1mil.
Every mob in l2 is part of the nova clan. killing a nova is considered an act of war.

There was a time when alliances would shut down Cruma or take noob towns hostage.
The idea is that if you don't like them, band together and overthrow them.
For every instance that they pk your members you add another 2 days on you pk'ing their members.
Essentially gather the strongest force you can muster and work to drive them off the server or have them beg you.
It falls directly in with L2 gameplay. I just think people have forgotten this.
Now, this is not to say that you have to play this way or even like to play this way.
But if they didn't make this proclamation and just started doing this stuff then it would come over as more of "Nova has declared war on the server", which to be honest is what they have done.
The question is, is there an alliance that matches them in power or are they really the end all be all in power?

There is an old saying that applies here. "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."
The same applies to L2. "You can bring pvp to a server, but you can't make the server fight."
Given the way L2 is 'designed' (Go ahead and laugh...I know I did when I typed that...) the best gear, levels and numbers wins. So when you get the best/most of that you go looking for pvp, don't have it? Grind until you get it, but avoid pvp in the meantime.
So when silly overblown 'pvp' people go out walking with their swagger stick, people don't come out of the woodwork to suddenly challenge their ludicrous pompousness, they fade into the woodwork until they are pimp enough on their own to bring out their own swagger stick and wave it around like it's the first coming of puberty.
And when two pimp sticking groups manage to pvp it out, sooner or later one side or the other breaks up while the other absorbs the remainder. (Or the remainder fades away)
Which might be ok, except given the 'design' and general population trends in MMO (Yeah, it's real life invading the purity of game design...get used to it.) each time this happens your 'pvp' player population takes another hit and goes down. Without enough new people starting and being able to 'compete' in a reasonable amount of time (and unless you cheat L2 doesn't make this easy, friendly or fast!) then all pvp like this does is reduce the server 'health' far faster and sooner than it otherwise would from people just exhausting the 'content' normally.
If players want a 'healthy' pvp environment (**! **! Saying this outside of a FPS makes me snicker.), then the players need to back off the pimp smacking talk and give the pve'ing players room to grow, while NC needs to *reduce* the power gap in gear and level/skills NOT increase it so that players of disparate levels can still 'contribute' to pvp.
Yes! A graders should be able to kill S80 graders! Not on a 1 to 1 ratio, but definately they should be a threat. Because in a game where you have to be at least the same setup as the other pvpers, if you don't meet those criteria, why bother to show up? ANSWER: YOU DON'T.

I completely agree. But the problem is that there sometimes seems to be an unhealthy belicose nature to some pvp players where they forget they are playing a game and won't give any of the more PvE players a chance.
But having said that, is it really their job to do that? I mean, this is an open pvp game and all they have to do is to pvp whenever they want to. It certainly doesn't break any rules to do so, nor does it break any rules to close down areas or demand that people sell them their ore.
The reality is "yes" people will not show up to fights if they don't think they have a chance to win. Especially if the opposing winning force is less than gracious about it.
Essentially what we have here is many sides unhappy about the game design. There is an assumption about how this game was supposed to be played and that seems to have been lost with the first devs. In addition, it might also be because of cultural differences.
Do Korean players go around in gank squads or is that considered the lesser way to war your opponent. from what I've seen of Korean videos, they are very organized to a degree that us western players just can't match.
So perhaps the open nature of this game works better for them.
Remember when that one alliance figured out they could drag a siege NPC to town to take out the shops? Someone asked what Korean players did about thsi and our CM at the time said that they didn't do these things they were busy playing the game.
There is a certain level of outside the box thinking that goes on in Western L2 which borders on the malicious which might not "quite' work with a larger playerbase.
Not to say that there aren't people who wouldn't thrive on this but it seems that this game speaks to such a wide vareity of people that it is hard to find an audience that views the game in the same way.
Heck, the reason why people cheat (as you said) is because the better gear and levels win. Many of these players don't want to put in the time to get this but do want to pvp so they just find ways around it.
Players want to pvp but we all have a different version as to what good pvp means.
To that end, these particular players, (though showing a bit more bravado then most) aren't really doing anything wrong in saying that this is their clan/alliance's stance.
But as you said, maybe they are getting ready for the fight of their lives but will realize that no one will show up.
It's a game.. and it's becoming more realistic. If they have the power, then they have the power.
They're doing it on the wrong server because we're all a bunch of carebears... they'd be better off trying this on Phoenix. Not that they'd stand a chance of course.

Agree with PainAmplifier 100%. For a 'good' pvp enviroment, you need balance. Skill and experience should almost always be the deciding factor in a battle, not gear and levels (Oh look, none of my 74 lvl skills land on a 80+ player. woot).
Lineage 2 is not a PvP game. It is a 'War' game. Just like in war, the side with superior numbers/resources usually either wins or simply get's to more or less dictate term. That Or they nuke each other (and everyone else) into utter oblivion...

I LOL at stuff like this. I'm not going to say I'm all chillax with everything like this, but omg at the end of the day it's just a GAME. People that say things like the above need to get their head out of the clouds, get a hobby (real-world hobby, farming doesn't count), and take a breather from L2. ^_^ Seriously.

I agree with this 100% too. And I also agree that the 'threats' introduced in this thread seem like jokes. If they're not, someone is really, really bored and needs to get outside more. ^^

They wouldn't get away with any of this. And if it's a fight they want I HIGHLY encourage them to go to Phoenix for the PvP fun that they want.
I think they will be very surprised and challenged at the level of devoted PvP players that are there.
And if they really do want to fight and not kick sand into some thin guy's face on the beach then why not go where they will get it.
Yes, such posts and actions are legal in L2. I think that is what makes the game great, there are no artificial, programmed restraints on this type of activity. IF Nova is able to effectively do this, it will be up to the other players on the server to either live with it, or do something about it.
On the old Erica, which is now part of Sayha, we have seen this situation before. Once the situation actually did get harsh enough that the 'rest of the server' banded together and pushed back the ruling clan. Of course, the new victors then splintered into fighting factions, some of which continue to this day.
Perhaps the bottom line is that Sayha is a very interesting server to play on. I would invite anyone who is bored with your current server to transfer over, there is a lot going on.

I can't say whether or not you will own a castle but you won't own all of them. And certainly not if you want to shut down areas.

and if we do drive everyone off our server, we will sit like a dragon on our roost and await the next challenge, if one ever so comes to be. the NA population is low they should just make 1 or 2 BIG servers in stead of 4-5 mediocore population servers. this is L2 NORTH AMAERICA afaik, and to see euro servers with 2x,3x the poluation we have on a daily basis sucks, we just want a response from the players on our server and on other and thats what were getting.

nobody is trying to get nova banned, man. people are just unwilling to fight you. deal with it. find a new enemy. one that you'll be happy fighting, and one that will be happy to fight you.
And when two pimp sticking groups manage to pvp it out, sooner or later one side or the other breaks up while the other absorbs the remainder. (Or the remainder fades away)
I wouldn't be so sure about that part. The war between X and ITT (the two alliances with the most heroes between them) on Teon has been going on since over three years now, without a clear "winner". And I don't see it ending any time soon.

if you took a look at more than the simple castle sieges youd know devianne is a tough place to break on. youd know the greek lords of devianna CAN control your pve far better than your nova holes ever could do on bartz. hence the EXTREME population of botting on devianne.
if you took a serious look at teon youd see a lot more than russians with adena hacks. youd see some players that compete on a much more MEAN level than DVP ever was.

History should have taught you that this tactic does not work? All you're gonna do is make the server a crappier place than it already is, and still be in the same position you're in now: no satisfactory pvp. It just doesn't work. :P It didn't work when UR did it (you guys should remember that), and it's not gonna work for you either. My prediction is a good number of you guys end up quitting due to boredom. Your problem isn't the players of Sayha, it's the fact that this game isn't in its prime anymore, and you are expecting a level of gameplay as if it were. Accept how the game is now, or move on. It just makes you look ridiculous what you're doing atm.

So you guys left Bartz, and transferred to the lowest populated of the merged servers, and now are upset that it wasn't what you expected and are pretty much demanding that NcSoft gives you a server merge, cause essentially between you and AmazingMan, that's what you two are running around and saying.
Problem is, no one forced you on to Sayha and no one is forcing you to stay... So problem isn't NcSoft, it's your own alliance.
Well listen, the question was whether or not their gameplay choices were against the EULA and unless they actually do something that threatens someone in real life (which they are not) then it isn't.
It has always been part of L2 to play this way.
Whether or not they get the desired results of having people rise up to meet them is another thing. What will happen most likely is that people just will avoid them.
If they haven't taken the bait now most likely they won't. So I resinstate my suggestion of Phoenix as a viable alternative as they will have the competition they desire which is the whole point in the end isn't it?

I don't see how this is a solution. If you came from Bartz because you didn't like it and now you don't like Sayha, all you are doing is merging the two things you didn't like.
You'll have twice as many people not willing to fight you. So go somewhere where they will fight you.

If you followed the forums instead, you'd see how many people quit. They didn't quit because of you, they quit because they were fed-up with THE GAME.

Grinding can be monotonous... you need pvp to balance it out ^^ and pvp is the most fun when the sides are equalized. Just sometimes you get the upper hand, sometimes they do.

I play on Sayha. I have played there for close to 4 1/2 years. I have seen uber clans come and go.
Nova is a strong clan. Most of their members are more mature than this one. However, given the server populaton and the size of the L2 world, you rarely see any of them. They are probably in 80+ areas I seldom visit.
Nova and allied groups do not own all the castles on Sayha. Amazing was, um, misinformed when he claimed that.
Almost everyone on Sayha, I am guessing 85%+ at least, have never been impacted by Nova. It depends on how you play. If you are in the game for different reasons than they are in the game, its like they are not there.
The point is well taken about levelling honestly. Here, let me stand on a chair and raise my voice as I say this:

Your Cheating Proves you Could Not Do It Honestly. Therefore, an honest player of any level is better, has accomplished more, and is worthy of more respect than ANY player who cheated. Regardless of level, gear, PvP count, Hero Status, or ANYTHING.
If you are good, you can do it honest. If you cannot do it honest, you aren't good.
For those Nova, or any clan, who honestly lived their L2 lives, they are worthy of respect. Of course, I would respect them more if they booted the cheaters.

Sure, when you don't know the full story it doesn't make any sense, however allow me to fill you in and also correct you.
Clan leader started playing a new toon so we had access to the same person to lead the clan just not the account he always used, now within Nova on Bartz were a lot of the guys from FOB on Erica. We had members of the clan who still owned a lvl 8 and lvl 9 clan on the newly merged Sayha, one of those had a clan leader banned so we were left with a lvl 8 clan to jump straight into and one of our members had acquired a clan hall on Sayha, so no, we didn't just start over on another server, there was some reasoning behind it.
Had NCsoft agreed to transfer leadership of the clan to another member as they did on at least one other server in the past then we'd have just stayed on Bartz and this thread would never have come into existence.
Sorry, RumPunch, but these kinds of posts are a little sad to me. Do you really think that Nova requires your respect or has some need to meet your expectations of game play?
And to Valerie: Ya, I know you don't, Valerie, because you have said that before, but I also don't think you've ever really played in a pvp clan, which is a whole different experience than a gank here or there or a Partisans clan hall siege. <3
