Just wondering...How much time did it take you to go 76-77-80(if u are ofc)?
I'm only 78 but it took me like 6 months or so to go from ding at 76 to ding at 78. I have no intention of ever attempting to get level 80. That would be the equivalent of self-torture to me. I'm perfectly happy at 78. I've got POW, so I'm done. =p

The amount of time taken to go from 76 - 80 is going to be different for everybody because everyone plays different amounts of time. Also, a lot of people bot so they probably won't even answer.
(disclaimer: I didn't do it myself, but I know a few who did)

It can be done relatively fast. But if you're not really going for it it'll probably take you a while.
well my buffer's sub just dinged 76 and i figure if i wanted to i could have her 76-77 in 5 days
not really a fan of playing 5 or 6 hour days anymore but if you put in the time and were a more powerful class than me you could prolly do 76-77 in a few days of hard grind and tbh the grind doesn't really get that much harder til 79 so 76-78 shouldn't be too much of a problem in 2-3 weeks
Haven't done it yet but the xp needed to level is 200m, 350m and then 550m xp from 76-79 (roughly calculated). Soloing an 8 man and a 4 man cata room nets 12m xp/hr. This is with significant out of party influence.

I assume you could pull 8m xp per hour.

Disclaimer: all calculations were made quick and dirty.
I leveled up from 78-79 basically in the Rift, with a few regular xp groups thrown in. Playing about let's say 2-3 hours a day in the Rift, it took me a couple of weeks to do it (keeping in mind there were pvp deaths, etc., also thrown in.)

Was that soloing or was it grouped? Was it for the drops or is the xp actually good? I haven't had a chance to rift since coming back to l2 =/
IF YOU are a DD of ANY TIME and you have PP+SE... Man... 76-78 no...w8.. 75-78 in a month. 78-79 in a month tops. 79-80 DARN! That took me almost 2 months...
76-78 is about 400m exp.
So if you make like 2m exp/hour (which is average to bad exp for 76+)
it's 200 hours if you make 5m exp/hour(which is good exp for 76+) it's 80 hours

Divide that with the time you play each day and you ll have your answer
76 to 77 was about 2 weeks. 77 to 78 was about 3 weeks. 78 to 79 was about a month, and 79 to 80 was about 3-4 months.

Those were real times. Since then, XP has got much faster with nerfed pre-80 XP, vitality, and 150 weapons. Now, if I did it again with the new stuff, it would take me 76 to 77, 3/4 week. 77 to 78, a week. 78 to 79, two weeks. 79 to 80, still like 3 months.

By the way, this was with a EE that leveled with me in party, 76+ SE, 74 PP, and 52 BD, all out of party (not always BD). I also leveled for 4-7 hours a day.

I did the rift mostly solo for that particular level, but also did it duo when there was someone else who needed some leveling. (It gets lonely soloing. I don't know how all those people do it.)

The XP and SP are excellent, especially solo, but also if the 2nd person enters with you. But, you have to be an EE or Bishop to do it.

I did it for the XP, then for the SP, which I needed for a 79 skill, and the drops (EAS and level 76 lifestones, regular, mid and Top) were a bonus...
My Account expires before I will reach 80 so 78 before my Account expires I hope :p

It's easy if your in a Clan I chat the whole time I'm leveling so your only solo hunting your not really solo your chatting with everyone. :D
Chatting with someone in clan/ally chat is not the same as being together and experiencing something.... I just don't prefer to solo, usually, for long periods of time.... but ofc, all of this is off topic!
2 chronicles.

Explain the experience 2 them in detail then :p
Rift is awesome XP. If you are a Bishop with a out of party recharger, it is probably the best XP you can get in the game... assuming that you don't spend 10 minutes looking for a room. Without a recharger though, you still get slightly better XP with a nuker.
Hmm, pots, invocation, and Clarity augments work pretty nice too :) So it is doable without a recharger. And I guess I've been sheltered, cuz I never found a nuker that wanted to duo with a bishop....

These days, with the time it takes to put a group together, getting to the XP spot and grinding, and then after a while having to replace people who leave, etc., etc., etc., finding a rift room is pretty fast in comparison.
Hmmm well, as a Bishop, you are probably right even without a recharger it is faster. I was mostly speaking for EEs because they can not be recharged. All EEs I know that rift have to rest every buff round, spamming potions and invo. It is harder to find a good party as a Bishop though, I know.
No, it's not harder to find a good party, don't misunderstand me. I get parties fairly easy. I'm talking about all the hassle getting a party together for the high-end areas and then maintaining it. Sometimes it's just easier and more efficient to go into the rift solo, boxing a duo partner.

An EE and a Bishop in the rift is perfect. You share the damage dealing, and then the EE can rest for MP while the Bishop keeps the room controlled. There are times when we just have to sit and rest, sure. But usually it's pretty continuous xp.
WC+EE Rift duo! lol. At least the WC is useful to sleep stuff and toss HoTs!

It's actually nice to have the mp rest between 10min rounds. Take a break, eat something, do laundry, make phone calls. Usually we watch anime/tv episodes.

Log pets OOP though: Proph, SE, Warsmith. Or ES, Proph, Warsmith. For better buffs and mp regen.
I have done the rift with a WC, but truthfully, if the duo partner isn't capable of one-shoting the mobs, sometimes it's more trouble than it is worth for them to do anything but stand in the corner. I can trance them pretty fast, so that isn't so needed. And the EE buffs are the ones that are important, they have TurnUndead also, and can regen MP if necessary.
Trance takes mp, so at least the WC can save the DD the extra mp. The WC can also aggro the room with the initial sleep so less a chance of spell cancel or the EE needing to heal itself (spending more mp). Hopefully.

I never said it was an ultimate duo. Obviously Bishop + EE or Bishop + Bishop is the best.

When you're a WC and you have an EE bf, you do what you can and if you made it to 78, well something apparently worked.

Edit: I told him for a long time that I was useless and so I wouldn't do the rift. Otherwise we would have been 79 by now. So at least in this case it's not "more trouble than it's worth".

I guess if you have a WC that doesn't know what they could do to help it would be frustrating though.
Well, there's never a replacement for a good player, right? Especially one that u are used to xping with.

I didn't say I wouldn't go in with a WC. (Their buffs rock. And BDs are great to go in with too because of the dances.) I said I prefer for them to stand out of the way in the corner until the room is under control... and, sure, to back me up on sleeps, that can be helpful if I am being overwhelmed. But generally, their "help" turns into unnecessarily causing chaos. For instance, I have found rooting the mobs works against you, and sleeping a mob that is feared is not so good either.

Since you essentially can do the rift alone, bringing anyone in with you can be a liability, since a lot of players don't want to come to the rift and just stand in a corner because they feel "useless," and then they try to "help" and end up aggroing the whole room... haha... So usually I am ready to have to get out on the first couple runs (salvation myself too) until they understand what they should do in order to keep the xp going.
