Hello everyone
I have been playing L2 for 3 years now.
I started playing on Gustin and now i continue on Phoenix.When i first started all in-game things were pretty nice with players trying for lvling, some pvps too and ppl who was trying to do as better as he could
to equip their characters, help their clannies or other friends etc etc.
But the last few months and especially after the server merge the big problem of this game has begun to seem a "non-resolve problem".
And for this, i blame directly the NCSoft.
I have seen several updates the last 2 years and in all of them , legit players were getting the message that "problems with non-legal players will be solved".
And i say legit because in my estimation, over 70% in the server i am now, are NOT legit.And from now on i will call them CHEATERS.
When someone first logs in this game he has the famous "licence agreement" on his sight.And the company who owns the game asks players to preserve some rules for honest and more quality game, threatening CHEATERS, with ban in case
that they will not keep up with this agreement.Anyway anyone who doesnt want to play L2 under those circumstances, can easily press the button "i dissagree" and exit the game.
But how should they do that when NC is the first vilolator of this agreement?
NC will ban CHEATERS? When? After World War3? In another world? Maybe in some next lifetime?
Not only noone is banned, but the latest chronicles are made to make CHEATERS play more easy! And how is this happening?
Common items :now all toons controlled by illegal programs can have equip without the need of spending money from their owners.
Certain skills like crystalize on spoilers : Not bad idea for CHEATERS to make crystals their common drops and keep their inventory clean for other drops.
Preparing vitality herbs : Now all toons owned by CHEATERS playing for 24h a day will lvl up fast and they can go on higher lvl places for more expansive drops.
Im not saying that these are not good for active players too.But they are all so convinient for CHEATERS.
I am here representing 40 active players (if NC needs characters names i can give them) to shout about this great problem :
Why NC doesnt keep their own agreement and they dont ban CHEATERS after so many petitions they collect about several "auto-partys"?
In latest chronicle they promissed us that the place will be kept clear of bots. Give me some proof! Where is it?
All high lvl areas (and they are not so much) are filled with CHEATERS having auto partys and if we mind that those grounds in latest chronicle now have a lot less mobs (omg why? bots were dying easy? !!!) it makes it impossible to play.
I see things in my server and i wonder how can someone buy anything in crazy prices? But what am i asking? HA HA HA----->Buy adena to play
This is what NC does these days to players.Letting bots farming and making stupid sites rich, leaves legit players to be able to do nothing at all after a specified point.
And i ask again : How is NC keeping their "licence agreement" ? By leaving bots destroy in-game fun? By encouraging farmers and sites and pushing over 70% or more of the players to go buy adena? Arent those bannable offences? Who has been banned? WHO?
NONE!!! And noone ever will as it seems.
Especially after the sever merge the problem has begun to be unstoppable.
So finally after 3 years i have come in a situation that all i see is this:
1. Bots in hunting grounds EVERYWHERE
2. People that buy adena to equip their char and then they are not able to use that equip for pve but in occasionally pvp (some sieges every 2 weeks)
3. People that use their main chars to kill legit players of low lvls so that they can use the hunting spot to set up their own bot-party.
THIS IS A GAME OF BOTS!!!
I was once invited on one ventrillo by one friend and i could over-hear in the same vent, 2 players talking about how to set their bot party.I logged a small toon and i went in the spot they were talking about.
Surprise!!! Partys were set. So petition them, and i did. 6 times. For 6 days in a row. All of you want to know the result? Here it comes:
Their toons (at that time around 65-70 as i guessed they were set up in martyrs) are now playing in auto-mode in Silenos area! After 3 months they exist and in lvls close to 78-80!!!
BRAVO to the petition system!And in the new chronicle there will be a petition button to report them immediatelly? For what? For NC to laugh with us? THEY DO NOTHING!
I have renewed my account 10 days ago and i have decided that this will be the last renew i will ever make in case something wont change in the next 1,5 month is left for it.The same will happen with (at least) 15 more of the ppl i represent in this message.
NC propably wont mind because , hehe is okey bots are more than your pitty 16 accounts, but what a shame?
I even wonder if this thread will stay up more than 15 mins if someone from NC happens to read it.
I felt i should type it and all of the ppl who will read it, will definatelly know what happened if it gets erased.I guess what they say about truth is not a lie after all.
I am here to call all legit players, that do not buy adena from stupid sites and play legit and NOT on "bot-mode" to join this thread and ask for answers from NC and most definatelly ask for PROOF of their words.
BAN THE CHEATERS.
Clear the place from farmers and bots.This game is no longer fair to all players.NC violates their own "licence agreement".
I call NC to keep up their own agreement or to advice us to follow the known path : "buy adena and use bot programs".This means for me :leave this game and i will ofc.
All of you out there ask NC to prove us what are they going to do?
I will ask sorry for so long thread but it was long too, to type it and im not so fast in typing.
I did it once and will be no more.
I will wait for your reactions as members of this foroum and some clear answers from NC followed by proofs.

The problem is that korean developers have created the game where no legit player can reach high level in less than a few years of every day legit grinding.
On other shards like chinese sea etc this problem is solved by exp boost events and somewhere they even have higher rates than standard setup. This practice seems to help a lot because they now introduce level 83 skills and surely 85 ones are on their way.
On NA servers however there were no exp boots events ever, so the only way to reach those levels for the new player is non legit. Maybe NA team considers this as an ok way because else they would ban bots and boost exp regularly to keep players happy.
But now that 90% of their paying customers ***, mass banning would mean the death of the franchise so there is no way to solve the problem, at least without major time investment which ncsoft NA does not ever do, see how long they implemented paying services? probably 1 max 2 developers are still working on the l2 project currently...
In my honest opinion the current situation when they ignore petitions and at the same time they do not amend the EULA to allow those kind of gameplay, is very immoral because only lying customers can play the game in these conditions. The players who want to follow the law could in theory compete with illegits if NCNA would honestly say that they allow *** and ignore petitions. That would be fair to all. Now, only unfair people can play which is IMO very unfair.. So, is L2 the game for unfair people exclusively? Because, you know there is not much fun at 74- nowadays...
It's sad that even NCSoft violate their own EULA by letting ppl bot from lvl 1 to 80+ and noble
It's so bad that botters has even started to post here in the official forum how they bot and how they started, if that don't show the [cencored] ignorence by NCSoft on this matter then I don't know what will.
Botters say that banning them will mean the end of L2, but in my eyes L2 will be the best MMORPG out there even with only 100 players per server (if there are even that many legits per server left...)
Yes cheaters are everywhere and professional farmers where in game since i played back in prelude.
Personally i enjoy the struggle for mats to craft things i need, help friends/clanmates and grind up on my own.
Personally i dont give much about PvP. If it happens its ok if not its not a big loss to my gaming experience.
Sure cheaters are anoying and esspecialy at end game it can suck to loose against one because he cheated so much.
Then again how great is it to win against this cheater even with all his cheated stuff ?
Im proud that i did never cheat and came this far as i am now. Its possible even with 1 account only.
Ppl that cheat dont realise they betray themself of the game experience, friends, nice partys, great happenings and other stuff that happen while you play.
They give that all up for beeing able to beat other cheaters or legit players for some kills.
How thrilling is that really ? I bet it becomes boring sooner or later.
Also in the end the cheaters ( soulless and buyers ) are all unable to play legally so they suck anyway.
The thing that annoys me most that the cheaters always use good hunting spots and even if you PvP or PK em they come back in the train. In some places they come back with newbiebuffs even.
So even dealing with em wont help most of the time.
So why Nc is it so hard to figure out for your GMs if someone uses 3rd party software or not while a player can within a few seconds ?
Ppl start leaving the game because you just cant hunt anywhere because of all the cheaters.
If you cant hunt in places to aquire items you need, do manor or quest how do you expect ppl to get all that stuff ?
Maybe you should remove sealstones too because no one is able to hunt in any catas on Phoenix.
If your lucky you will get a room but then a cheater comes around and pk you to set up his train.
If that is the expected game experience now ?
Well NC no wonder ppl start to cheat and servers get more empty every day.
The Majority of Bot problem is NOT solvable, for 2 main reasons:
1. those so called bots train u see running around ingame may seem totally 100% AFK to you, but that is not true.
there is a guy out there sitting near a computer and watching the screen incase a GM PM him, and if that happens he is there to reply and therefor he is not considered to be a bot.
2. another simple fact is that a 9 toons "bot train" pays NCsoft 135$ per month.
Majority of the money that NCsoft earns from the title Lineage2 comes from account monthly payments.
rough estimation I can make is that 20% of the toons out there are Bots, banning all of them will resolve in ~20% loss in Lineage2 profitability, that it is an insane amount.
therefor, u got 2 option as a player:
1. forget about it and just play the game.
2. quit game.
2. another simple fact is that a 9 toons "bot train" pays NCsoft 135$ per month.
Majority of the money that NCsoft earns from the title Lineage2 comes from account monthly payments.
rough estimation I can make is that 20% of the toons out there are Bots, banning all of them will resolve in ~20% loss in Lineage2 profitability, that it is an insane amount.

But as to your quote, you are confused. Take a trip to a much more popular l2 forum and see what flies there. There's a guy with 270 accounts to himself running bot trains explaining how they pay for their own subscription through RMT. Even better is how it's cheaper to buy adena and trade it for time cards than it is to pay NCsoft.
You think these people are even playing the game anymore? You think they WON'T quit if they get banned? You're out of your mind. These guys could care less about l2. Let alone them being "addicted."

First of all, great quote in your sig. Kind of funny to discover it in this thread.
Second of all, L2 isn't the attraction it once was. With a daunting task of getting to high level before running into anyone and being eligible to join a strong guild, it's not gonna happen. People once put up with the grind because the pvp was fun and the idea of castle sieges and clan wars was so exciting. But with 2 strong allies per server, if that (hi sayha!), there are no castles trading hands. There's barely one siege per fortnight. There's no competition.
When l2 had all these things, and plenty of players to group with, it might have been interesting to say more people will come if we spread the word. But sorry - the grind is a ridiculous game mechanic when there are no groups to make it go by better by socializing (worse, soloing is better xp than grouping). And with no reward, why would anyone come to L2 as opposed to any title that has a healthy player base? Look at our forums, we have maybe 50 posts per day across the whole thing. I've seen 10 people private forums more active than that.

I dont think iam out of touch, iam in the biggest alliance in the phoenix server that gets accused the most about botting.
its still a little fragment in the sea of bots out there,i can point u to over 20 different adena selling company's that sells unlimited adena on ALL the servers - those are not players that make few bucks on the side.
anyway, if what ur saying is the case, why arent those bots banned?

You give them too much credit. The only excuse I might entertain is that they didn't forsee the problem becoming this big. Regardless, they should have been on top of things when they started. Now l2 (the game/revenue) needs the bots. But the bots need the players. It's too late for ncsoft to clean this game up, but it's not too late for the players to say:
"In this day and age, it is unbelievable that an mmo company thinks it can get away with this kind of behavior and condone cheating through its inaction. I would not support this for a new title or for any company and I can't support ncsoft. Bye!"
Maybe it's not the whole company, maybe it's just the people handling L2. But they [censored] up, and they are not communicating with the players. New players to the MMO genre think that this is the norm but I wish I could be with them the day they try a new mmo and discover a whole new world where the devs post on the forums and talk openly with the players. Where they discuss their efforts to ban cheaters and keep the game clean.
No, new players are not coming to L2 is not because of the bot amounts, its because of game designed to keep addicted players playing, and keeping the adena selling company happy and paying their monthly fees.
bottom line is - banning bots is only a matter of decision.
its not hard to check the entire dungeons and just ban all the clanless toons running around in a funny way.
world resolves around money. company's resolves around their money incomes. if they'd thought bannign all the bots wil lbring more player and therefor make more money out of it - trust they would have done it long time ago

If the bot owners have to buy new serial keys over and over again maybe twice per month will generate 30 ( depending on price ) or more $ instead of 15$ ?
this is not true, most bots are adena selling company's.
once they will see their bots gettign banned over and over again they will understand L2 is not a profitable game to sell currency at, and leave it.
And the point being?? You don't think that having a completely legit game would have people coming in droves to play? Bottom line is that the adena farmers would be replaced VERY quickly

NC violates their own "licence agreement".
I call NC to keep up their own agreement or to advice us to follow the known path : "buy adena and use bot programs". Just remove this from EULA and be honest.

I can name 3 possibly 4 legit clans on Teon. Ncsoft is not the only thing at fault here.
I agree, but only NCsoft has the power to change it (they will never do it, cus of the problems I stated before).
expecting the community would stop ebaying/botting when theres no enforcement is just not realistic.
its like having no police/courts/jails IRL and expecting ppl to not commit crimes cus its just not right and it harms the general population.
