And I thought that Credit/debit cards are like international money... you have one and no worries, but I was wrong...

Yap, and now I know that I cant resolve it  And because I've no danish CPR number yet, I cant get bank account, I cant get danish debit card, I'll miss the event
Get PayPal/GameTimeCards.

I figured out that NC isnt smart in billing issues when they told me that my account cant be 'converted' to another currency.

When I bought my L2 account I imported it to germany from the states since there was no euro-version, so Im running an US account and Im billed with US$. Now NCsoft released the game in europe, made the game payable in EUR and added the use of a german bank account to the game (called Germany ELV). Since I dont have a creditcard (and I dont want one) I wanted to use my german account but since Im running on US$ I cant.

GTCs were my friends before they added PayPal. I bought them all via internet since the stores dont have NC cards (they sometimes do, but its like a miracle to see them). Now PayPal takes my money (for free), convert it (yes, for free!) to US$ and pays NC (again for free!), to activate my account it takes like 30-45 seconds and I dont have a monthly payment plan (full controll of my monthly costs, if I cant spare the money I dont have to).
oooo another Elephant <33333
Paypal is only an option for one of my 4 accounts. Would be nice to know why.
That's NCSoft for ya...
I hope it works out for you.

Get PayPal

May I ask the details on how to do that? Coz the ones I can find is the CD-key+30days playtime one from PlayNC shop.
Thx. Stupid accounts are in hybrid mode >.< (aka NA/EU lol) I couldn't do that with 2 of my a/cs coz they are classified as EU :/ and the other one is NA =.= Sigh... at least I can apply US game time cards on the 2 EU a/cs lol; rather than paying so much more for the euros via credit card :(
you are such a meany, purp :)

Oh, a "Free Normal Server" is what we play on.
We give NC $15 a month and we use all of our FREE time on L2, after a while it becomes NORMAL.
At first I thought, for some reason (read: thread title), that this thread was going to be about the "The logic behind pricing structures" thread that keeps getting bumped up to the top of the general forums.

*Anyhow, back on topic. *

Strange. I'm paying from Australia on an American L2 account with Australian dollars from an Australian bank account. I guess its a good thing I didn't try using my American account to pay for my subscription. They would have though I was perpetrating identity/cc theft *eyeroll* from overseas.

NO...

You can't LIVE in one country and have a credit card issued from another. Chasing down billing if you reject payment then goes under INTERNATIONAL jurisdiction. If the card and the residence are from the same country, the legal issues are less complex. Plus, if the card is issued in one country and being used in another, it is a possible indicator of fraud.

Why not?

Or of a vacation. Or of a business trip.

I have the credit card I used to pay for L2 expired while I was on a month-long business trip in another country. Fortunately, NCsoft charged the card just a day before its expiration date.

I live in Australia and I use my parent's (additional) credit card where they are in/ from Hong Kong >.< Good that I can pay 2 a/c with Paypal, but the other 2..... I have to buy more expensive game time card =.=
Same here, I live in Italy and up until a while ago I used my credit card that was an additional from my mother and they were issued in Brazil (that's where my parents live).

So the whole "You can't live in one country and have a credit card issued from another" is a bit too generalistic.

QFT, I used my cards in Spain, Saudi Arabian, Bahrain, Malta, etc. They never had a problem with me using my USA-issued card in another country.

WTH are you raving on about? Of course you can have CC's issued from one country and live in another.

I have CC's issued from the U.S. I currently live in Australia.

I'll jump on this band wagon too... I'm a Canadian living in New Zealand and have/use CC's issued in Canada, Bermuda (as I lived and worked there for 10 years) and New Zealand. Nothing saying you can't use them as long as you have a valid billing address (i.e. where you have your smts mailed to).

Inch.
Well when I was subscribing for my account, there was no other option beside "US" for country (I even had to put state I live in, mandatory) and $$ for payment. And it stays like that. Funny thing is, for account services I pay one account in Euros and other in British Pounds.
Haven't checked for PayPal options for payment, but it does not work for account services. Luckily PaySafe does.
