I recently re-rolled to a DA, loving it btw, and I'm about to hit A grade, so I'm therefor wondering what a good configuration is for A grade weapons for a DA. Should I stick with the classic sword and shield route and remain virtually invincible in pve, or is the class strong enough to use the vanguard skill and go with a dragon slayer or duals?
Admittedly I haven't tried out the vanguard much yet, but I wanted to get others' opinions as I experimented with some common B weaps before I make the jump to A. I have a damascus and I'm wondering if I should combine it with a tallum or get the DLE? My play style is mostly solo with a 2box pp with occaisional parties of 2-4 others, and I'm going with a NM set.
I know I have the option of doing both but with market prices being fuggin motarded atm, I'll get one superior weapon and one common item for the secondary play style for now, the question is which one should I invest in, DLE or 2 hand? Thanks in advance.
Uhm.. unless you dont tank raidbosses often enough i would get a sword with focus on and a shield, For RB tanking you'll want a health weapon. As for vanguard you'll be using duals, so either get +6 Tsu*sls or higher or go straight to dama*tall +4 or higher... kesh*kesh are not worth looking at unless they're +9 or so. Personally since you do party from time to time you say i would go with 1handed+shield primarily as you'll be the partys tank. Can't use your tank skills in vanguard. Its just my opinion though
Personally, I would go for the DLE/shield and a common 2-hander/duals. Tanks regen mp SO fast for a melee class you can spam skills with the 2-hander/duals in solo areas and kill much faster than the 1 hander. I really like the common weapon if you're on a budget.
I also have a 2box PP and find no difficulty soloing with the 2hander (or in your case duals). Since you are soloing mostly...I'd look towards the duals. If you want to party though...you're generally gonna want the shield. Most people seem to feel the pdef loss (you can't use majesty while in Vanguard stance) is too much compared to the patk gain. But it solo, the problem is never too little pdef...
please be on the Bartz server, if you are I have a +6 DLE W/Crit dmg for sale.........make me an offer man...I'm bout to hit s grade and need some new gear....

Guesse i'll ask here since i made my mind up on my 1st sub for my Overlord.
I'm saving up for a real set of heavy Majestic to use on my OL in a grade and was wondering will that also be good when i get to sub DA? My lvl 61 OL gets stuns with a blunt wich 1 handed would be good to get so i would have 1 set of weapons and armor for a grade.
Any other ideas on b and up armor and weapons would be great also for c grade i'm gonna get rest of the chain set since i allready have 2 chain helms.
Looking mainly for pve setups at the moment since i'm gonna be lvling to try OLY at least once so i hope that gives you all an idea of where i'm headed.
how are DA nowdays like in pvp and pve better than PA?
DA in pvp is difficult and you need good experience in order to be good, this is why a lot of people now who have tanks die constantly in pvp becuase they believe button mashing will work. In PvE you can basically get yourself a tallum heavy and some kesh duals, summon your panther and destroy
What about their skill insane crusher and shield of revenge are they any good and worth it:P
crusher needs seeds but it's a powerful hit, shield of revenge is kindof low chance but it's always worth to have to be able to reflect a skill. at those levels, touch of death will be a big damager and shield slam will be your new sliced bread with your butter shield stun
thx
Tanks are harder to use than most classes be warned
First just to clarify, HK only gets to use duals in vanguard.
Also, using vanguard or not depends mostly on the situation. Since your p.def gets owned in vanguard (also can't use majesty) if your hunting in places where mobs hit hard with physical, you're gonna want to stick with sword and shield. However if they don't, then vanguard is the better way to go.
In my experiance tho, I like sticking with the sword and shield. Get better mob control with stun, shackle, etc. and the higher you get the harder stuff hits you for. Besides, the panther does all the damage anyway....
As for my A-grade setup, I went dle crit dmg, tallum heavy set, and +4 str, +2 dex. Worked pretty well imo, just gotta watch the stun :P
Took those tats off once I hit s-grade tho.
Thanks for the info and dual swords would never be an option since if i ever wanted to use them i'd just sub gladiator or blade dancer so with that being said then vanguard is just a waste of sp i assume.
