Trying to wrap my brain around this...

I don't really get to play L2 much anymore due to my work schedule and for the last 6 months or so I've focused on leveling my sub. Now that I'm done with that I'm playing a little more on my Saint and I was all like, "Oh, maybe I can add divine attributes to my arcana mace.!" (I'll mention that I suck at market stuff and NEVER so much as glance at prices until I need something... so I was clueless)

So, tell me if I'm wrong here but - each stone puts 5 elemental points on your weapon IF it manages to succeed, right? And max (currently) is 150, so you'd need at least 30, but probably more like 50-60 stones since they don't succeed 100% of the time?

So if I'm right in thinking that, here's what's really blowing my mind - Divine stones go for about 43 MILLION adena on Arria. Multiply that times 60 and you come up with - 2.58 BILLION adena?!? That is COMPLETELY unreachable for me. More than that, it's unfathomable to even think about doing that since I don't get to play enough to pvp/do Olympiads/etc. to make it worth it.

Are these prices for real? Or am I making a mistake somehow?

And just out of curiosity - is there any point to having a low level element (like just 5 or 10 Divine) on your weapon or is that too small to make any difference (in PvP and/or PvE)? Another (slightly stupid) question that I think I already know the answer to but I'll ask anyway just to confirm - since I use Inquisitor nukes to solo on IOP, those nukes are based in holy/divine attributes so throwing a fire stone on my weapon (I have a few that I've gotten from XPing there) would do nothing, right?
if you farm then, they will be cheaper
From what I can tell Spud, they drop in HB and since I solo w/o a buff box (100% on my own buffs), farming them is not really an option for me.
Find a clan? At your level, even if you're not very active, I'm sure people will take you under their wing.
It's true, Adelei, you should farm them. Just take your time with it.

I just got my mace to 85 divine (am going for 150), after about 10 fails in a row. As I get them in the parties I go on, I apply them. It is taking a while, cuz I just won't pay that for them. Although, I will happily sell them for 60 mil (which is their average on Bartz, except Fire, which is going for around 14 mil)

It might mean you need to hook up with people your level and get out there. An EE is needed in the stone parties, for sure. However, at the front of HB are some mobs that do drop stones, and they are soloable... but they don't have a high drop rate there.

The Chimeras drop all stone types, the Arcane mobs out by what we call the Green room (it was surrounded in green light for a while until HB was leveled up.) drop Divine Stones. The Tower mobs drop Divine Stones. But all of these should require a full melee type party. Lethal Daggers preferred :)

Holy Weapon is 20. Is it useful to you?

Nothing at best. I'm not sure, but I suspect it will render holy attack buff/dance on you useless.
Sell the Fire stones.... Many want fire/water. (Fires can be exchanged for free to water) Also, it can be put on armor, so people are enchanting with them.

Since u have Inquisitor and it is a divine nuke, you want Divine stones. Even with the 70 divine on my mace, I noticed a difference in the rift of land rate.
for starters one stone gives you 20 of an element and then each stone after that is 5
i have 3 weapons with element on them atm and for some reason my sword just doesn't want to enchant, it takes 27 successes to get 150 and i've used 37 so far for 45 (6/37)

divine stones drop all over HB and all stones drop at chimeras.... not sure how welcome your class would be on HB unless you were OOP since the place is pretty hard and requires a fairly stacked group

If you put any other attribute on your weapon than divine, using inquistor will do less damage the more you add on. tested it after a friend noticed the difference, a 150 water mace does less dmg for dark spells than a +3 som
Interesting.... I didn't think it would add any damage, but I didn't realize it would actually reduce the damage. Good to know.

Oh and I tried to solo the front of HB tonight, LOL.... that so did not work. I don't know if it's cuz I'm only 78, cuz I'm a healer, cuz I don't have OOP buffs or what, but I got 3 shot, LOL. I was in inquisitor mode so I couldn't PR... tried to BSOE but the thing hit me for 3k damage after I used BSOE but before it could go off. I thought it was kinda funny... reminded me of my lowbie days when I would go try to solo RBs just to see if I could (I couldn't, of course, but it was fun to drag them all over the map while laughing/screaming into vent.)

I guess I'll just try to sell the fire stones I'm getting and maybe I can use those funds to buy a divine stone or two. It's good to know that the first stone puts 20 atr. on the weapon, that makes me feel a lot better about it than just 5.
LOL, oh well, so that suggestion sucked :) I saw a PK out there soloing and at other times I've seen a couple nukers .... didnt know if it would work with you. I do know there isn't much on Hellbound that works for nukers. This is why I think it has to be altered in some way at some point. I don't understand why they would make a place be required for s80 mats and not have it be doable by all damage dealing classes.

And an EE is definitely needed in a stacked Hellbound group. In our lethal dagger groups we have two EEs or one EE and one SE. The need for MP, clarity, managain, is absolutely necessary. No doubt about that. Try contacting the people you know in clans that make HB groups that you are available for them. The other night in a Towers group (focused on the red stones) we got 3 divine stones each in a 9 man group... we were there for about 4 hours.

it doesn't reduce damage or add damage if you are using diffent attribute on weapon and different with spell. in fact it changes attribute, so you dark spell will act as "water" spell with watter attribute in weapon. unless you were on mobs with water rezist, there should be no difference between no attribute and water attribute weapon.

of course weapon with same attribute as your spell enhances your damage.

btw. some mobs on IOP have water rezist.
actually since buffers will prolly have holy weapon it could decrease damage

nope, weapon element overrides any element buf you have.
only toggles have precedence over weapon attribute, and there are only 5 classes with togle - palading, and TK + all kamaels (not sure about inspector)

try it for yourself.

yup but holy weapon will increase damage, however if you use a fire weapon with holy weapon buff you will cancel holy weapon meaning less damage from holy attacks
I have a question then:

I am a SpS and i have Seed of Water that gives me 20 Water attack attribute. So if later if i put water stones does this mean they won't stack with skill? And will it make solar cast less damage ?
The Seed of Water will stack with water stones on your weapon.

I'm a Storm Screamer and I have 55 Wind atk on my weapon (from wind stones). If I also cast Seed of Wind, my stats show me I have a total of 75 Wind elemental attack. So it definitely stacks.

Not sure whether you'll get less dmg on Solar ... I don't think so though. Pretty sure I still get the same damage on my dark nukes with or without wind atk. I think it would only affect the opposite element (dark-light / wind-earth / water-fire). Not sure tho...

seed will stack with weapon attribute.

and as to solar flare. it's light (or you can say holy) spell. so it's not affected by watter attribute from buf or weapon. eg. wheter you have +0 water weapon, or +200 water weapon, damage from solar flare will be the same. you need holy attribute to increase damage of solar flare (either from HW buf, or divine stones in weapon)

even oposite attribute doesn't decrease damage.
if attribute of weapon/buf is not same as attribute of spell, it only changes "attribute" of damage, not it's power.

eg. if you cast death spike with buffed seed of wind, death spike will do now not dark but wind damage. but it will do same damage wheter you have, or have not buffed seed of wind (only on wind weak mobs, he will do more, or wind resist mob, he will do less, because with seed is not dark, but wind)
I dont think death spike gets any benifit at all from wind attribute or seed of wind...
Death Spike is dark.
BTW, I heard Orc drains are no attribute, despite the look like dark. Can anyone confirm?
orc drains are not attribute spell.

and you can't echant it for attribute.

read again, what i posted.

DS will not benefit from seed of wind, unless you are fighting wind weak mobs

orc drains are not attribute spell.

since The Kamael all the drain magic is Dark based.

nope, orc drain is not dark based. where you get this info?

just for test. use orc drain without any weapon (so there will be constant damage, even it will be small). then buf target with dark rezist buf, and you may also add divine protection, or song of invocation (or both) and do the same. and tell me then, if you have seen any difference in damage.
I tested this before when magic damage was a fixed amount .....now it's almost imposible.

but before gracia all the drains were dark .....

this after The Kamael; before it was melee magic......

but after gracia I tested on the SK drains ...and those do more damage on a dark weak target.
Life leech is the same as Steal essence(exept power). I mean in element and drain percent.
Only one way to get it cheap is farming :(, try to get a clan, at least a little clan can help you with some better buff and/or more at HB.
;)
good luck!

SK drains and DA drains are dark

orc drains are without element

need i repeat myself?

and why do you think i told you to not use a weapon? without weapon there is fixed damage. you will have very low matk, but for tests it's enough.
