For this week's poll, I'm going to bring up the topic of the banhammer that has been going around. Since the GM's started annoucing their bans, have you seen much of a difference in the amount of bots in game?

not really, all I've seen sofar are scare tactics to which the botters on Aria just laugh as none of the end game botters (70+% of the current Hero's) have been banned till date
I have noticed a reduced bot count, they are not all gone, but it's alot better. I also however noticed new dwarf trains doin the newbie quest cycle in the Kamael starter town when I started up a dagger this weekend. (the report bot button does not work in peace zones :( )
To clarify ... the dwarf train was 8 dwarf characters running in a line (about 2 seconds apart) stopping in the same "Pause and find the next NPC" spot (exactly the same spot, I stood on it to make sure) all with the classic "Slap the keyboard open handed" naming style.
(I play on aria, in case Spam is checkin this thread)
I've only noticed that the number of people whining about the bannings on various forums has increased. I still see, report, and continue to see the same bot trains.
Was definately a noticeable difference in some hot spots on Teon after spam had been. For the first time in ages I was able to find a spot in Varka and even at top of Blazing Swamp. Haven't been to bot springs so can't comment on this area, however, IoP is unchanged.
Bots are creeping back in though, Varka and BS is getting repopulated and some nuker trains have appeared in VoS.
Btw, I know it seems like the bot report button is pretty much useless, and for 1 person doing it it is, however, remember that the player that came through the area earlier may have used his button on the same bots as may a player that comes through later. They should add up over a period of time if the button works at all.
I don't think they banned a whole lot. They just did it very visibly, If they really cared about banning bots they would do it properly, sweep with GM's every few days. I have my doubts that's what they really want. Seems like they want to keep the account money from the bots while lulling everyone else into thinking they're doing something significant.
I doubt they will keep it up, and I doubt L2 will look any different 3 months from now botwize
