I think all mobs have the possibility, they may be running it like the last couple though. The last couple of drop related events the daytime hours had sparce drops then around 7pm or 8pm central the drop rate jumps way up until around midnight central (or 11pm ..can't remember for sure).

It seems like that but it's not strictly true. The same ammount of nectar is dropped throughout the server all of the time, but the reason why it seems like more are dropped at night is because there are less people on at night. The less people online the more chance there is to get some of the portion of nectar avilable, the more people online the less chance there is. :)
yup the drop rates are really borked as usual with this event :( since I first posted I have tried a lot of different areas, green mobs, white mobs and so far several hours steady hunting I have gotten 5 necters >< lol

What server are you on Tamoh? Maybe a euro and drop rate has picked up on your server? :) You got more than I have in that one hour you played in my playing various toons all different spots all day since the maintenance was done :(

Actually the drop rates are better during US prime time, so there should be quite a few people online.
Well, I have not actually tried it out myself last night (US prime time is like 3-6 in the morning for me), but for the last few pumpkin events it was like that, and this one seems to be just another recycled version. So I'd expect the drops to be better during early morning euro time. Last time, I got like 1-3 nectar drops per round outside US prime time, and 10-20 each round when I played during US prime time at the weekend (soloing).
Stupid drop rate + 50 event items for the large squash = event for bots. GZ.
Unless a limit is put on an event it will always be good for bots that's the reason they bot it's good for them. We can only hope they get banned for botting then all that nector will mean nothing :D

all told, i got one cloned large seed and around 45 nectar. primetime hours don't make a difference in this event. i'm severely disappointed in this event...seems that you have to have your own 24 hour bot party to get any benefit of this event.
bring back the medal event as a normal quest, i say.

After 2 1/2 hrs of grinding during what should be Prime Time for NA players (7pm-9:30pm PST) all I got for it was 5 pollen.
Yes I did grind on White mobs, hell I even spent the first 1.5 hrs poling in Pilgrims; I gained 2.5 lvls on my Event Grinder toon. All he got was 3 pollens. The other 2 I got (1 each in a buff round) hunting in HS with my main.
I realize that my main is not the fastest killer on the server but I think that a event item for every 50 or more mobs type drop rate for an event is absurd.
Wow, the drop rate seems to be ridiculously low then. I did like 3 hours last night in IT in a party and got 4 nectar for it, after that I did 2 rounds on an academy toon on white mobs and got also 4 nectar plus one cloned seed (all outside US prime time).
So I probably won't do much pumpkin killing this time around, unless they fix the drop rates...

Well, I ended up like you said here. Its not really worth "farming" the nectars ... tried poling NG/D-grade mobs and result was that I was actualy getting more nectar when I played on my main.
But one person from my clan had 150 nectars from farming it on d-grade nuker aoe ... so I dont have any clue on this.
So far the info I have, I wont bother to try to farm this stuff, just play normally ...
what are people getting from the squashes? I got 6 last night and at my rate i'm wondering if its better to sell them or wait and see how many I get by the end
I'm European on an European server, I tried at prime time, at off hours, solo, in party, on yellow, white and green mobs, HPx1/2, x1 and more, one at a time and pole, and the drop rate is : ridiculous.
The most I got was 7 nectars and a cloned seed in 2 hours, with DE Wizard lvl 34-37, solo on HPx1/2 yellow then white mobs.
I used the cloned seed, it grew into high quality squash, and I got toilet paper (EAC).
The event lasts only one week, the drop rate is stupid. Conclusion : the event sucks.
NB: if prime time for better drops means US prime time even for EU servers, it's just disgusting.

A. Low drop rate = more for bots. It hurts real players more. Cloned seeds, nice move, but the small one aren't worth growing them. The large ones.... it's questionable.
B. NCsoft didn't resurrect a classic event, they killed the memories. Nectars are free? And then? I won't shout huzzah just because somebody in the street gave me a rock!
This event is a copy from an old one with a small addition, but it's totally useless because the majority of real players don't get enough to satisfy their hopes to partake in a funny event, and the rewards are still the same as the old version. I mean... soul cry 8... A Cry... Doesn't that ring you a bell? It was worth something in the beginning of the game.
Events means "something that happens". I don't consider the fall of a leaf in a forest in autumn as "something that happens".
Well drop rate is absurd.Atleast i can make some use of the bots in VoS.They don't seem to pick up nectars.I picked up 10 so far and got 3 on my own for 3-4 hour solo grind on green and white mobs.Pathetic IMO....
Restart the event and increase the drop rate please.
20 nectars in 2 grind sessions for me. I have 3 more days now to get my first large squash! The last 2 days will be farming the rest of the nectar I need to feed my squash. I can't wait, should be all ready before the event ends to do my one large squash.
Well what can I say...
After 4 hrs of casual grinding with a WL in Pilgrims ( I say casual because I would grind for about 40 mins, go afk for 10-30 mins, rinse & repeat) I that time I managed to gain 4 lvls of Exp (with a Hatchling leeching from me). To show for the effort a mere 3 Nectars.
After Delvl'ing back to 42 I decided to put in some serious grinding during prime time hrs, ( 7:00pm PST to 9:30pm PST) After 2.5 hrs of steady grinding (against white and green mobs) I walk away with 2 nectars and 2 small cloned seeds.
My total tally for this event so far stands at 11 nectar and 2 small cloned seeds in 5 hrs of serious grinding and 4 hrs of casual grinding.
Not impressed and nearly at the point where I simply do not care anymore, maybe this can get passed along to the powers that be and maybe, just maybe something can be fixed for next time.
OK, so it seems that for once NCSoft actually listened to the players, when they complained about the stupid drop rates in previous medal/squash events (when good drop rates were only during US prime time). They changed it - now there is ALWAYS a bad drop rate...
the previous pumpkin/squash events were really good times. i remember calling up all my friends and clannies together to smash pumpkins, and when someone cracked one open they got enough items to pass out a couple items to everyone who helped out. Now 2 ppl can smash them with haste2 and there is hardly enough to make it worth doing large ones yet alone passing out goodies to your friends, really poor change.
i been hunting ALOT durring this event, and been buying up nectars in town aswell. and this is what i would call a HUGE joke. So far i opened roughly 18 large once. Of those 2 have become emporor, and 2 High quality, rest was crappy low. So far this is what i got.

beside the Eas this is what i would call rubbish. Compared to if i had solde the nectars i lost around 50 milion adena with current market prices on franz.
i have estimated that my drop rate durring the event have been around 5-7 pr hour of hardcore grind. SUX SUX SUX. this event is for bots only.
which is funny since they're going around banning random bots...but none of the high-profile botters that brag in hero shout about getting away with it.
i could go into a consiracy theory...but there's someone on sayha with like 8 antharas, 20 of every other boss jewel and over 180 billion in pure adena. you tell me how that happened on a fair playing field.
The first pumpkin event years ago was great. I was able to make money selling stuff and the drop rate actually made it well worth while. It helped me get into my C and B grade at the time.
The low drop rates and crappy rewards. I mean with the wonderous cubics who cares about armor enchants in the d-b grade range. they don't have any real resale value anymore. This was not a worthy event. Events used to give you a financial boost to help you get the gear you needed. I haven't participated in one that really helped in a year or two.
What they should've done was to increase the droprate of the cloned seeds a tad so you could get one or two every buff round (or more if you're lucky!), instead of getting maybe one or two every hour or so (atleast that's what it seemed like to me).
screw financial boosts...would be nice to just have a FUN event like the medal one and have it for like a month leading up to gracia final.
What do you mean screw finanacial boosts. The medal event was one of the best money making events they have had. Don't believe me, just ask all the farmers how much they made off the medals.
Every event no matter what it is the farmers will find a way to make adena from it. What really matters is if it is fun and enjoyable to a majority of the player base. I would say alot of players enjoy events just because they are something different from the norm. However im willing to bet the majority of players are not interested in any event that doesn't benefit with added income.
I would give anything to go back to the days of hunting treasure chests guarded by super bunnies or hunting around the world for armies that spawned in different places. Those were the good old event days where participating was very lucrative.
However they do need to revisit the rewards for quests now that the usual rewards are already flooding the market with every day means.
1. Enchants are way to easy to obtain now days specially B grade and below.
2. A crystals???? come on upgrade to S crystals already.
3. Soul crystal lvl 10 and below are in lux shop. No need for those.
4. No potions should drop that can be purchased or created.

everyone i've talked to said the medal event was the most fun, despite the rewards.
really, i don't see why they don't bring back the medal event full-time...there's no difference between that and the coin quest except that the rewards were random. all they'd need to do is just adjust the reward system to not completely flood the market with boss jewels. just make the turn-in like 10k medals etc.
The medal event was ok, but as some have already discussed the event benefits the 24/7 crowd way to much. The only thing that will change with raising the cost of the rewards in the medal event would be who could afford it. Just think about it....what was the drop rate like last medal event? It was horrible just like every other event that has involved drops from mobs during normal hunting. Making the medal cost of the reward 50k medals would mean only 24/7 farmers, ebayers or very rich players would be able to get that item. As it is now every update makes it harder and harder to get most anything of any real value. It would be the same with those kinds of prices for rewards.
I thought the bunny event earlier this year was quite fun, it was IMO the best event they have had (reward wise)in the last 2 years. Even the good events from the past that they have copied have been nerfed badly.
I think a majority of players like events to break up the grind and also for the chance to get something they would normaly never be able to get or rarely get. Alot of us also look forward to events to help supliment income. Specially now since they continually remove or nullify the best ways to supliment income in this game.
