We all know the in-game lotto is rubbish and nothing will get it started without any serious make-over. So, I'm going to have my own lottery (which is where the trust comes in) in which you can win yourselves some random gear from my warehouse.
Here's how it goes. Anyone who wants to participate pays a small price for a ticket (tracked on the forums for all to see) and has the chance of winning an item from my backpack. I will limit the number of tickets sold per item and everyone will pay the same. If the limit of tickets is not sold, the winner will receive the pot (less 20%). If the limit is reached, the winner wins the item. Simple.
Again, if you don't want to trust me, don't take part.
Here's an example. I have a full BO set in my warehouse which is worth whatever.. 8m or something.
I sell 100 tickets for 90k each and you buy them (yes, you can buy more than one) and once the 100 tickets are sold a random person is selected from the list to win. If you're concerned about how 'random' the selection is, create a level 1 toon to give me the money.. whatever.
If the 100 tickets aren't sold - let's say only 50 are.. then I keep 20% (900k) and the winner gets the 3.6m in the kitty.
So.. in this example, you've just won yourself a full BO set for 90k or 3.6m for 90k depending on the turn out.
Would many of you be interested in this? I guess the people who would benefit (apart from me and my 20% profit) would be lower level people with little adena.
No flaming - it's only an idea at this point, but if there's enough interest I may start something.
Remember, before you flame.. it's a game :P
Oh.. and if I don't pay up, you know who I am, what my in game name is, put me on your KoS list. But that's not gonna happen.

Oh, I'm not trying to hide the fact that I'll be making money, but the point is 90k to one toon who's after BO isn't a lot of money to risk for 8m worth of gear. Even if the tickets aren't sold, there's a nice kitty in it.
That's what gambling's all about - the two current in game features similar to this are terrible - Lottery and Auction house. Both phail! Who wants a +10 non-grade item anyway?
I just started a toon on Sayha and I only have 10k at the moment can you loan me the other 80k and I will pay you back when I win?:D
50,000 adena per ticket, reserve is at 10 tickets. Sayha market values these at 20-30,000 each, so I'll be making a loss, but it's worth it to get the ball rolling.

Take a screenshot of all transactions (in the status window) just in case my client or PC crashes. All tickets will be paid by me setting up shop and selling a low-priced item at the tickets price. This ensures we both get a screenshot of the transaction in the status window.
I miss the last one I didn't play the game but 400k+ is a lot for a level 8 toon so I will wait for the next one.

Not that I support this *scam in any way, but if you roll a couple of new toons on his server and just do those ridiculous newbie quests, you'll get your 500k and within the span of an hour (across both accounts of course)

Well it could be a Scam if it was some one else but Purp? naw.
I never played with him in game but he's my buddy on the forum. So I try to support his efforts even thou I'm not on his server.

Anything. This is only round 2.. and I haven't had any forum messages yet and I've not logged into L2 either. Nothing's saying this is gonna work, so hold off for a week or so lol.
I originally won his first event.. the 36 Nectar. I've seen him around several times, i'm not in his clan, or on his friend list @.@
Though, he changed the rules after he started it. Originally was doing names on post it notes in a shoe box and random draw won, then he switched it to "ok someone pick a random (whole) number from 1 to 10".

But i figured i'd throw it out there that first time around he was legitimate. Besides, say he scams you of like... 100k?.. its not a huge loss on your part, and you will know not to trust him next time :P
I'm going to have another think about how this is done as it was a little messy last time - I had loads of people messaging me but no-one actually taking part.

Ooo sounds interesting man didnt know you were doing this :) I'll take part I like gambling ingame but ya yer spot on, the existing ingame things just dont meet the mark.
What I find interesting is using a dorf at fantasy isle to sell bone arrow @ the ticket price - as long as your system doesnt power off, or scrolls too far, you'll be able see whose bought one.
I guess the tricky bit is the random selection, and would require a fair bit of time assign number to different people every time etc etc.
Anyway if you are still doing this and get something worked out that isnt too time consuming for ya, count me in for anything just for the funs of it :)
Easy way to avoid accusations of corruption or rigging the game is to give everyone a random 5 five numbers. Each number goes from 1-6. So I buy a ticket and could have a number like 24645. Then you have a meet and you roll a dice 5x. First one to get a full match wins. Only problem with this is if you don't have enough tickets. You could be dicing forever. You could reduce the range of the tickets to 3 digits instead of 5.
Unfortunately I'm not that rich. I actively have on 3 toons and they cost a bit to gear up. Having 3 toons in party doesn't make the money come any easier.
