WC melee A grade weapon

I wonder which could be the best A grade weapon for the best melee damage during PvE. I tried focus dagger... not impressed. Using one handed blunt by now... any other experiences to share ?
Blunt is good cause you can stun with it. I also used my tyrants BT/focus wich seamed to work really well also. I am sure there are many other weapons that work great with the WC'er also.
I suggest a dagger with focus (please explain your comment "I was not impressed") up to 72-73. From that level up you meet more "evasion" type mobs, so I suggest a Soul Separator with Guidance SA. A mage blunt with accumen (spiritual eye or Fl. Dragon skull) is always a good company (for stuns).
"Was not impressed with dagger" means that damage appeared to be low when i was using Kriss Focus +3 during my 50's. Not something scientifically analyzed, just an impression.

You compared it to another weapon or it seemed low in general? You should remember that at mid 50's your buffs are still low level, specially Chant of eagle that counter's dagger's low accuracy, as well as the crit buffs. This means that the DPS is not that great. But these buffs level up in mid A's and you'll see the results. +DEX dyes and an augmenty that has a + accuracy (really easy) also help a lot.

PS: Are you a WC or OL? Self buffed or with OOP buffer?
i use dragon slayer +5 health and Soulcry ON, using talisman mp regen, heavy tallum, this way i can drain if need, i can still buff, talisman make me full mp all the time, easy soloing HS this way.....

i do big damage with it like 425+/650+ and 1100/1600+ on critic.
I don't use tatoo for pve only some +wit....
I am WC self buffed.

WoW, that talisman mp regen + soulcry was a smart move, interesting thing to test.
The mana regen talisman only gives paltry MP Regen increase (assuming you mean the grocery store one). I would use speed instead, so I can get to mobs faster. It gives +3 speed which is actually useful.

I think the Tallum armor he's wearing gives him MP Regen boost that is actually factorable (i.e. noticeable). Soul Cry drains to little MP that as long as you are in an herb-dropping area you don't have to worry about it.

You can level in a set with no MP Regen or MEN boost and stay at almost full mana all the time unless you're spamming drains.

Again, the MP Regen talisman frmo the Grocery store is close to useless, Lol. I think the one from the castle may actually give a factorable increase. Go for speed instead. It's pretty much the only useful one from those stores.

BT/focus (fists) or Morning Star with Focus.( blunt) ;)

WC is a Mage so you want something with a lot of Accuracy :D
There are a lot of discusions about such things.
You didn't mentioned are you solo/duo or pt. But I gues you solo, what is incorrect for WC. When you hit A grade you should pt all the time, in other case exping is pain in one place.

Also there are some options for WC:
- heavy armor (I prefere mage), some calculation should be done
- focus dagger + soulcry
All time you should balance between mana consuption and exp eficiently.

But if you realy want to solo all the time with you WC, I offer you to get the greater wolf. It cost a lot, equipement cost a lot, but it worth it, with yours buffs he will be yours main weapon.

Agreed I love my Wolf (http://home.comcast.net/~ashleymivida/Wolf.jpg)
focus dagger is the best weapon hands down. if your dyes / buffs /hunting area are really giving you serious accuracy problems, switch to a sword (i like 2h personally) w/ focus. focus duals also work. your crit rate will drop, but youll gain some patk in place of attack speed and accuracy for crit. the soul sep with guidance is... not really a great idea. the accuracy youll pickup is about the same as the sword's base accuracy, the crit rate wil be the same. youll have faster attack speed but less patk, so more shots and horrible resale (who wants to buy a soul wep with guidance?). given that money was not an object, sure, but realistically this is a fairy tale weapon.

as far as fists/blunts go... don't. they have very high accuracy yes, and sure you can stun with the blunt, but your crit rate is absolutely horrid. you might as well ust sit in town. sadly, the orc mystic class will always be subject to owning 3 weapons minimum (mage blunt/bow/dagger)

No 1-hand A-grade sword with focus SA exists (onle DLE with Risk Focus). On 2-handed you have Infernal master and Sword of Ippos. The second costs more than most S-grade weapons and it is not for everyone. No A-grade duals with focus exist either. If you refer to B-grade duals then say so.

Indeed the Soul separator with guidance results in having same accuracy like sword.

the crit rate wil be the same.

Indeed the end crit rate will be almost the same (2-h will have slightly more, but too small to mention)

youll have faster attack speed but less patk, so more shots

Here I disagree completely. You imply that more Patk is better that faster attack rate. I think that any dagger class would disagree with you. Specially taking into consideration that you are always buffed with Chant of Rage. Faster attack speed means that you score more critical attacks hits in the same given time (since you more attack than you would with a 2-habded) although you have the same crit. rate with both weapons. The critical damage buff makes sure that scoring a critical equals way more than scoring 2 normal strikes.
Attack speed is the key factor and it is much bigger (around 33%) in the Soul separator's case. Soul separator with guidance has way more DPS than the 2-handed swords and it also allows you to carry a shield (more protection). As I said earlier I would still have preffered focus dagger, if the evasion of mobs was not such a problem on higher levels.

Another smart orc? But seriously, why sell it? (I haven't :)) You can keep it all the way up to S-grade.

Belive me, it exists and it works more than 2-handed focus.

I agree ofc.

No way. Check l2calc.

why sell it?

Bcoz S weapon with 150 element >>>> everything A grade?

I did. Why don't you?

Bcoz S weapon with 150 element >>>> everything A grade?

First of all the issue is A-grade. Second, if you go S-grade your main concern is getting a mage weapon with accumen (arcana mace) and put elementals stones on it. Getting an S-grade DD weapon with 150 elements is a bit overboard. It requires funds that most players can't afford.
If you refer to B-grade duals then say so.

yeah, because frankly unless it's s grade with element the grade doesn't really matter anymore. b grade is just as good as a grade for pve, and an overenchanted wep that'll make up the diff will still be cheaper and of course the shots will run you less. if you want to talk about pvp, yes you'll get the pvp bonus from a grade, but i still prefer a dama with focus, having higher patk than a soul sep w/ guidance's attack speed in pvp because the harder you hit the further into hp you get between cp pots. if someone has say, 1k cp, and you hit them for 1200, everytime you crit you're taking hp even if they are spamming. this is the classical archer arguement. damage per hit > attack speed.

the reason daggers would disagree is because of their skill repop. warcryers on the other hand dont have stabs, so attack speed doesn't really matter. warcryers have extremely low dex-even with our own focus unless were on hunter, blessing of queen, or cov we're not going to even get anywhere near to 200 (unless with augment or rare craft) so our crit rate will be garbage. in terms of "dps", the dagger might be indeed better, but remember that 33% faster attack means that you are spamming shots 33% faster as well, with less damage per hit. let's say what, 10% less damage per swing? which = 10% more shots to kill the samge mob. and the criticals themslves that you will be having more of (per second) will be doing the same 10% less damage also.

anyway, all we're really arguing about is damage per hit vs damage per second, and in this case with a very small increase of dps on the daggers favour vs less shot consumption with the sword. if you're really getting swamped with enough evasion mobs enough to justify using a stage 12 on an a grade weapon, be my guest. otherwise, find a sword wep with focus and turn your frown upside down.

btw- the reason daggers are so good on warcryers is much different than the reason they're good on dagger classes. dagger's spam skills with attack power, so patk is irreleveant and speed is everything. warcryers need it because it's the highest crit rate (dagger with focus that is); soul cry adds a static number to patk and we have low str and garbage weapon mastery, thus also making crit rate more important.
Second, if you go S-grade your main concern is getting a mage weapon with accumen (arcana mace) and put elementals stones on it. Getting an S-grade DD weapon with 150 elements is a bit overboard. It requires funds that most players can't afford.

woah woah now. don't put stones on your arcana mace, please god. ol/wc do not have element, so this will NOT increase your mage damage. save your money friend. i mean, if you want to do an extra 70% damage on stuns... but come on. an arcana mace is nice to cast cov and stun with, but other than it's terribly useless. i agree it's nice to have if you ever do drain and for freezing flame land rate, but for the love of god don't element it unless you have a nuker sub.
in terms of "dps", the dagger might be indeed better, but remember that 33% faster attack means that you are spamming shots 33% faster as well, with less damage per hit. let's say what, 10% less damage per swing? which = 10% more shots to kill the samge mob. and the criticals themslves that you will be having more of (per second) will be doing the same 10% less damage also.

I am glad we finaly agreed on the 2 issues here:

-Damage Per Second (DPS) is better on Soul Separator than 2-handed.
-Soulshot consumption is higher on Soul Separator than 2-handed.

anyway, all we're really arguing about is damage per hit vs damage per second, and in this case with a very small increase of dps on the daggers favour vs less shot consumption with the sword. if you're really getting swamped with enough evasion mobs enough to justify using a stage 12 on an a grade weapon, be my guest. otherwise, find a sword wep with focus and turn your frown upside down.

Actually DPS is the best way to compare weapons since it takes into account damage per hit. Personally, I prefer the higher DPS and the protection from shield (you failed to mention that) because it simply means safer exp even if I use more soulshots. Slower killing is less safe (eg. a bad respawn can result in death) and sometimes costs too (eg. HP pots are needed).
if you go S-grade your main concern is getting a mage weapon with accumen (arcana mace) and put elementals stones on it. Getting an S-grade DD weapon with 150 elements is a bit overboard. It requires funds that most players can't afford.

Why would you need element on arcana mace? You know that drain in a non-elemental attack, dont you? Better use those stones for AS and kill everything 2x faster...
Correct. I did it having in mind a sorceror sub, which eventually I didn't make. In an way maybe next update it will come handy. We'll see.

You still think 2-handed has better DPS than SS?
I used a FDS+8 with acumen, for me it worked, was more than enough....broke it the other day while trying oe to +9 :(((

Now I use a Star buster +7, with soulcry it works ok but the matk stinks..oh yeah I have a 72 fenir who helps me a lot
I just used my +11 Club of Nature/Acumen. Have SE and Warlock (Gift of Queen, Blessed Body/Soul, Haste, and Storm Cubic) so it wasn't too bad. Just kept Soul Cry on all the time. Sometimes I use a Common Item: Bloody Orchid, but I like being able to use skills to overhit every mob, especially since I have a recharger and never run out of mana.
I used in the 52+ Kris Focus for melee with soulcry and Acumen Blunt for nuking.

Since 62 I use a +5 Infernal Master Focus and it works really well. For soloing attack speed on IM is too low I think, but in parties I do nice crit dmg while xping.

btw a WC who needs a melee weapon to solo has a problem and should think about his playstyle...

My play style Work fine for 75 Levels and got a Level 73 Great Wolf out of it ;)
Some info from mine friend WC, lvl 74.
Self buff (no bers). Weapon: common Soul separator.
P.Attack: 500 (exactly)
When soul cry on, p.attack grows to ~950.

Any questions?
The only problem with daggers is accuracy. If you want to hit all the time, switch to fists.

One handed sword, two handed sword maybe ok only when you preserving mp (no soul cry).
Any blunt IMHO is only optional weapon for PVP, when you try to stun enemy.
I have +5 Kesh*Kesh on mine for mele damage.
